This is a vegie pizza place, although they have the "pepperoni " pizza. I do pick up here at least twice a week so have a pretty complete view of their food and service. They have all kinds of interesting pizza such as pineapple and jalapeño, peach and pepperoni, potato, etc. All their staff are extremely nice and willing to explain any questions you may have (about their food of course, but maybe even life philosophy if you ask nicely). I can't believe I haven't written a review of World Pizza yet! I go here every time I'm in Seattle. I've been here 5 or 6 times. It's some of the best pizza outside of the NJ/NYC area. I was surprised to find this place in the International District but I'm glad I did. Its a good change of pace if you get tired of Dim Sum or hot pot. The staff here are nice and outgoing. I haven't had everything on the menu yet but everything I have tasted has been worth it!! The full size pizzas were a bit too much for me to finish by myself so bring a friend if you are ordering a full pizza. Slices are always available. Such a wonderful pizza spot! This place is a real jewel of the community, you can find locals in here at any time of the day. The pizza is known for its pitch-perfect sauce and wide variety of toppings in seemingly endless combinations. The garlic-rosemary potato is a stone-cold classic, and the pesto is also pretty legendary. Other standouts include the seasonal fruit pizzas (apple! peach! fig!), and the delicious but elusive broccoli. It's nice that the place has these personal touches: unique hand-drawn boxes, strange decor chefs who are willing to improvise by request. The atmosphere is the perfect amount of chill. I like World Pizza. It's the only pizza place in the heart of the International District. The pizza is pretty good considering it's all vegetarian. The customer service is always prompt and nice. I've had their baked egg sunnyside up with fresh herbs, basil, black pepper, rosemary, and oregano pizza. IT IS TO DIE FOR. I've also had their cheese pizza which is always good. Some people complained about the crust and I tend to agree. It's a bit on the soggy side, especially when the reheat it. I like the idea behind a "healthier" pizza but wish the crust was crispier and that they offered a thicker or thinner crust. Overall, this is a great place to check out. I like me some pizza. I also like me some Seattle nostalgia. Back in the day, I hung out at the old location of World Pizza. Yes, I'm that Old Skool. It was a really cool little joint, you could BYOB and eat some damn fine slices. I was a cool kid then, and while food wasn't really my thing, still: best pizza I think ever ate to this day was their potato pizza. I used to crave it when I moved away, and when I came back and found them gone, I tried others, but none of them 'got it' like these guys. I have to say that was a lifetime ago, so maybe like the song 'Kodachrome' they don't match my sweet 'remagination' as everything looks worse in black and white. Because, while the pizza I did have the other day was still some of the finest in town, that elusive potato pizza still is better in my memory than the one they had. I'm willing though, to go and try it, oh, thirty or so more times, to see if I can't get a better idea of why. Not that I have anything against dim sum, noodles, or any other of the fare you can find in the area -- but sometimes im in Chinatown and sometimes I just want pizza. The owner is nice and chatty -- explains what all the pizza options are, and if you are opting for a slice instead of a whole pie he will throw it back into their lovely stone oven to make sure it's piping hot for you. All the pizza options are vegetarian, but you aren't missing anything due to the lack of meat. The Gorgonzola & potato pizza is good -- but i'd like the potatoes to be thinner. I also opted for a basil, tomato & gorgonzola slice and that was very very tasty. Cute booths in the back if you are staying, boxes for take out. Manny's on tap or sodas in glass bottles. Parm, red pepper flakes and sriracha to kick up your pizza to your preference. A nice joint to enjoy a slice certainly. Would be nice if they were open a little later. read more

Long gone are the days when I'm able to call in and order a normal pizza, with layers of cheese and Canadian bacon. Having switched to vegan, I'm learning to visit restaurants that can easily accommodate. World Pizza made ordering so smooth, and Lizzie and Otto were just the kindest pizza artists I've ever met. I asked them to surprise me with my vegan pizza, letting them know there's nothing I don't like and to make it spicy. They didn't disappoint. I got one large pie with no cheese (of course) and generous toppings. One side was Field Roast with mushrooms, artichoke hearts, olives. The other side had a spicy field roast with jalapenos, black beans, potato slices...deemed the Mexican side. SO tasty. The dough is not my favorite (a little harder than I'd like... giving it a stale sort of texture), but all else was very satisfying. And I love the hand-drawn art on the pizza boxes made by their staff. Nice touch! read more

At first I was like: wasabi infused pineapple? As a pizza topping? You crazy for this one, world pizza. But then it turns out THAT IS THE EXACT SORT OF THING YOU SHOULD PUT ON A PIZZA TO MAKE IT DELICIOUS! And so it goes for every kind of single-slice-madness I have ever had the pleasure of tasting at this totally magical place (and if you're more of a traditionalist, the plain cheese is nothing to sneeze at)! So, yes, the pies are dope, but really the people who make and serve them are what ratchets this review into the five star realm. They might be the nicest people in the city of Seattle. I mean, sincerely nice. The first time I went in there homeboy behind the counter had a ten minute conversation with me about record collecting (turns out we both love Wu Tang)! The last time I went in there I spent quite a while lamenting with my newest pizza-making-goddess-friend about how hard it is to own nothing but wool socks once summer rolls around. This was literally five minutes to closing, but there was zero amount of rushing on her part. We just talked about socks while she lovingly warmed my slices for me. She then proceeded to throw two extra pieces into my box afterward. All I did was inquire about how one of the toppings was made (the aforementioned wasabi-pineapple), and she, without a moments hesitation said "well you should just try it" and stuck it in the box. See? THE NICEST! As if any of that weren't enough; World Pizza is the lone dingy for the residents of the ID drowning in a sea of Asian Food (because a person cannot subsist on dim sum alone). What a weird little location for such place (I'm not sure that'll help their business) but the people at World Pizza were super accommodating for my UYE letting us take over the entire space. As far as the food is concerned, it wasn't the best but it was pretty darn good. I got the one with the wasabi pineapples but I didn't really taste the wasabi. If Toms of Maine made pizza this would be it. It's disgusting. Their crust is like a flaky tasteless soy imitation of pizza. Their meatless topping leaves much to be desired Nasty. There's was a pungent smell of BO overriding the smell of pizza which didn't really smell like pizza at all. The ready and waiting by the slice pies at 6:30pm looked lien they'd been out for 3 days. This could be due to the vegetarian setting but who knows. My wife has called me a pizza snob but really I just like to make a good pie myself. Most pizza is ok, many pizzas are better and few are excellent. I rank this pie lower than a Totinos wafer thin freezer pizza @ 2 for $3. I like what they have going on. Pleasant staff and dining space. Given the name and being in the ID, I wish they'd incorporate pizzas from different parts of the world. I.e., a Thai-themed (basil, peanut sauce, chicken satay...), a Greek-themed (feta-cheese, hummus, onions, etc...?), a German-themed (quality sausage, bonus Rammstein CD...)... I like pizza! Much love goes out to the family that started this joint many years ago and kept the dream alive long enough to bring it back to it's present location. It's hard to be original in this day and age when it comes to Pizza but these guys are doin' it and the menu is changing all the time. Recently I was at World Pizza and it seemed like Adam was churning-out a pizza every few minutes... the variety kept on marching right out of the oven! He has a "special sauce" recipe that he uses and fresh ingredients that include my all-time fave "Field Roast Pepperoni". If you have to have meat on your pizza, you may need to bring your own but I for one am glad that they are a "cruelty free" establishment. Got to have some meat? World Pizza is a charming little pizza joint tucked in among mostly Asian eateries on the neighboring blocks. The pizza is all vegetarian but even a meat-lover like me doesn't miss it here. They have field roast, potato, and many other toppings. The slice I enjoyed recently had field roast, jalapenos, and pineapple. The people working there are always very friendly. Pizza is not very good. The dough doesn't taste very good. I am from NYC and love a classic New York cheese slice. This place has high prices for the pizza portion you get and the crust is a super crispy and almost bread stick hard. He also works nearby and it's convenient when I am picking him up after work and we need a bite to eat. Awesome pizza place in Chinatown! I often try to stop here before Sounders games (we often park under the bridge (across from House of Hong) but do not get to stop as often as I would like to. They have great vegetarian options and what at least seems like healthier pizza in general. I have tried a few different slices of pizza here and enjoyed them all. They do have some seating and a few booths inside, but the few times I have been, I have taken my pizza to go. They also have a few beer and wine options (both bottled beer and beer on tap) which would make this a great place to hangout with friends for a little while, and this is something I still need to do. Dear god... I dare to proclaim: BEST PIZZA IN SEATTLE! Each style has a lot of flavor. When they write basil in the description, you TASTE basil. I've had slices that were sitting out and ordered trays (pies/trays/whatever name you know the doughy-goodness by), both were freaking amazing. My fiance and I typically order the 16" Field Roast pepperoni with pineapple, which I never thought I would like, but we enjoy every bite! It has a light spicy kick to it (even more noticeable on your second slice) and the crust isn't typical. It's thin, similar to a solid baked good, but not flaky. That took a little getting used to, but now I love it. We've also had their "famous" roasted-red potato by the slice and once again, not something I thought would be appetizing to me, but omg I now know why it's famous. We also come from an area in Pennsylvania that has numerous styles of pizza, so I like to think we can differentiate good, great, okay and crap pizza from one another. This may not be "typical" pizza, but it is GREAT pizza. The staff is also very friendly! I ate here with a couple coworkers last week and have to say I was impressed. The vegan pepperoni & pineapple I had was excellent and, in fact, didn't taste any different in taste than regular pepperoni and pineapple to me and I'm pretty picky. The crust was also noteworthy and cooked perfectly. The Greek salad was very tasty and they even made me a fresh one with no onions. I had a big chocolate chip cookie on the way out and have to say it was well worth the $2. A pizza place in the international district seems out of place but this place works since their food is so good and adds a little variety to the cuisine available there. I live in the International district and I love meat but, when you live in this area you can only have so much asian food without freaking out. Seriously good, seriously creative, and seriously cheap! Really big fan of this spot. It's a bit tucked away up in the ID, but it is worth the trek. All of their pizzas are vegetarian, and many of them offer really unique toppings. There are some faux meats for those that like guilt-free proteins, but many other interesting combinations like the habanero/ricotta slice I had, and the rosemary/potato slice I also had (yes I ate two, and yes they are large). I also really like the flavor of the sauce, kinda spicy kinda sweet. For two large slices of pizza with very unique toppings plus a bottled beverage, it is crazy that the cost was still in the single digits. In addition to pizza by the slice, you can also order whole pies. And beyond bottled beverages and coffee, they offer wine and beer, including Manny's on tap. (Pizza + Manny's = Winning) (Yes I realize that joke is like 3 years old) The seating area is small, but I've been able to snag a booth both times I've been here. Though you may want to take yours to-go if you're not a huge fan of smelling like pizza the rest of the day. This is an awesome, funky place. All of their pies are vegetarian, which appeals to my dietary choices. They use good ingredients, including locally-produced Field Roast grain meat sausages. That is rad. They have a great homemade thin crust and a flavorful, savory-sweet tomato sauce. The pies are super creative. I thought the place was a bit pedestrian. Even though I made a trip just to try this place, I am not sure that it's worth it. Buying the pizza by the slice for three dollars is a fairly decent deal. The potato, garlic and rosemary pizza was tasty, though not sensational. Nevertheless, I commend the owner's courage to open up a pizza place in the international district (although, as a friend's friend from South Dakota once said that she considered spaghetti international, I suppose pizza is indeed international and we Americans just like to claim it as our own.) Although I wish they would do more to leverage their location and add a few twists to their pizza toppings. As they have already proved to be bold people who are willing to take risks by opening a pizza store in an odd location, I think they should take some risks in their food and add a few Asian spins if possible. I work just a couple of blocks away and needed pizza for a lunchtime presentation, so I decided to go with World Pizza because they were my "neighborhood' pizza place. Got six pies and some Greek salad for a crowd of about 20, and it was plenty of food. I picked out six different pies, including one with no cheese. This was great because two people who originally didn't want pizza because of problems with cheese/meat/pesto were suddenly wanting pizza.The pizzas all tasted great, so the carnivores were happy, the vegetarians were thrilled. Unfortunately, World Pizza does not deliver, so three of my coworkers volunteered to walk over and pick it up. But, every pizza box was hand-decorated with magic marker drawings, so you gotta love that. Somewhat mysteriously, we got about a dozen sets of bamboo chopsticks with our order. I guess they were for the salads. but there was plenty of plastic flatware as well. The last pie to disappear was the red pepper and wasabi pineapple pizza, because most people didn't know what was going on with the green pineapple, and those who did feared the power of peppers and wasabi. As it turns out the peppers were very sweet and mild, the wasabi was very mellow. No danger of burning taste buds or blowing out your sinuses. I'm still on the lookout for the best pie in Seattle since the days that Zagi's packed up shop and hit the festival circuit again. World Pizza won't be taking the title, but they fill a need with some creative pies. I've been here several times since they opened when I'm craving a slice--the brothers are extremely friendly, their pie lineup has some steady favorites--the potato rosemary is usually my go-to--and some seasonal offerings. I had a peach and gorgonzola slice today that was absolutely fantastic. That said, I enjoy a slice you can pick up, fold down the middle and much away--a perfect shape for enjoying the flavor triangle. Most of the time, though, I've got to pull a Donald Trump and bust out the fork and knife and go to work. I respect them for keeping it vegetarian, but sometimes there's nothing like the addition of salted pig parts to take a slice from good to great. I'll continue going there and take my quest for the perfect slice to all the pizza joints in town...either that or track down the Zagi's folks on the road somewhere. read more

I unfortunately did not order a full pizza so I can only comment on the pre-made slices. Which was not great. But it wasn't bad either. The interior of World Pizza was tiny! They had maybe 3 or four booths and some bar seating at the Windows. The service was awesome tho! My husband is funny, he saw a pie on the counter in the back that looked a little burnt and he asked if he could just get a piece of it anyway. They sold it to him for the price of a slice of cheese. It was a potato blue cheese?? I believe....anyway I thought it was delicious even though it was toasty. I like certain foods a little crisp anyway! I thought it was cool they offered to let us get a slice even if they were going to toss it. It's a super divey hole in the wall place which I'm digging that vibe. Boy was it hot in there though! I'm a pizza connoisseur. I've visited many many Seattle pizza places and I'm 99.9% certain this is my favorite, but I will be back again and again AND AGAIN AND AGAIN to be sure. They make thin crust that's not New York style or Neapolitan or fancy Serious Pie style and I think it's better than all of them. It reminds me a little of certain thin crust places in Chicago. I'll have to ask them to square cut it at some point. It's vegetarian (but I'm not), and the "pepperoni" is quite tasty. I think it's owned by a couple brothers who are always there.
