MidAutumn Moon Festival was yesterday, so I dragged one of my bros out to fulfill a simple bbq festivity and chose Wow Cow because we always drive past this plaza on Lower Azusa but never really checked the inside out...not that I can remember coming here...maybe once. It was overall very chaotic inside, servers running around disorganized, but still a full house. Was kinda hard to get any staff members attention, overall I would rate service a 3/5. Raddish container at the self serve cold sauce bar had a fly in there. Health and cleanliness gets a 2/5 Protein, Seafood and Vegetables get a 4/5 for freshness Ambiance, wasn't a fan of the lighting and layout. I miss those early 2000s Koreatown Los Angeles Manna outdoor indoor seating vibes. I had mixed feelings about this place. Okay we tried their limited happy hour menu, tho they didn't tell me an exact time when it is they gave me the menu when I asked for it around 4-5pm ish. It's $10 cheaper than the regular rate but has limited meat options and sides. Rice and rice paper still came with it tho and an ice cream cup at the end as well as access to the open salad bar. They were prompt with grill changes and taking meat orders. With the happy hour menu you only get an hour to order which is more than enough for the three of us. Would come back again read more

Such a super fun place with yummy food! Bring your stretchy pants!! The restaurant is clean and decorated to have a good time! The service was very friendly and helpful! They offer both KBBQ and seafood boil. We had both and enjoyed each bite. They also have a bar area offering sides for your KBBQ and so many roll choices. We had the premium menu and took advantage of their amazing offer of a free boil (deal ends soon, check restaurant). The premium menu had plenty of choice meats offered including seafood choices such as shrimp and octopus. The servers there were quick to change out the grill for us and make sure we had everything we needed. The boil itself was generous and tasty. We had the house special flavor, which I recommend! Well, just doing a quick update because they added cajun boil to their menu. In fact, for $50 you can get AYCE boil and KBBQ. I don't know how anyone could eat enough to get their money's worth, but that's what is going down. Also during the weekdays Mon-Thurs, they have a late Happy Hour where the KBBQ has a few less meat choices but is only like $29.99, so that is highly recommended. So how was the cajun boil? Honestly, not horrible but not exactly good either. Any cajun boil lives and dies by the success of their house sauce, and unfortunately theirs is not balance and noticeably too sour. It's not something I'd eat here again. I'd rather go to Grab-A-Crab or Submarine Crab (my favorite). Still, their KBBQ is still a great deal. Quality meats, a cheap late night Happy Hour for the last 90 minutes they're open on weeknights, good sauces (except for the bean dip for the lettuce wraps which is way too dark and doesn't taste right), and lots of small side dishes like gyoza and sweet buns, and french fries, and popcorn chicken. This is still my current go to for KBBQ AYCE. It an get busy, especially on the weekend, and lots of people come in with large parties. This place reminds me of a phrase "jack of all trades, master of none". After watching the short videos from social media about their special and I decided to gave it a try. I had high expectations because of their rating but I was disappointed. I really wanted the seafood broil to be good and it was no where near the well known popular seafood broil restaurant. I think I can make it taste better than this. Sushi was on par with ordinary Chinese buffet quality and nothing special. The meat was chewy and ventilation was not great. Like I said I was expecting better experience given their regular price. For some people, it would be ok for the food quality and selection with their special price but not for me. Very disappointing experience at Wow Cow. We went a long time without having our grill plate changed, and the staff's attitude was poor. What really grossed me out was seeing a staff member use the tool meant for lifting and changing grill plates to poke our meat directly. Watching that tool touch the food we were about to eat felt so unhygienic and completely ruined my appetite. Basic cleanliness and respectful service should be the bare minimum. I hope management takes this seriously and improves staff training. read more

After visiting Action Bowling lanes, I stopped by Wow Cow Korean BBQ shortly before closing time. It wasn't too busy and got seated right away. Inside is very vibrant with neon signs, KAWS custom figures, and bright lights. With the Happy Hour being very limited, we went for the Premium meats to try their wide assortment of cuts. Some of our favorites included the Prime Rib finger, wagyu short plate and brisket. I tried premium beef tongue and small intestine for the first time, I liked the beef tongue more. Small intestine freaked me out but was good when it was crispy and charred. This spot is perfect for big groups but I thought some of the cuts had a lot of fat than other spots. I was hungry with a friend of walking for pokemon go fest. We really wanted something meaty and hearty and wow cow fit just the bill. We came on a weekend later in the day at night. The wait can be long so definitely call ahead. It took us 30 minutes to get seated. That being said, service before and during the meal was good. The decor is epic- giant kaws statue with chrome. The meat and service were both pretty good, with banchan being good but not leaving a strong impression. Is it fast and value? Yep. Is it the best kbbq I've had? No, but it gets the job done. We wanted to try something new, what a mistake! The food is decent, not great. Very basic seasonings and flavors for Korean BBQ. The service is HORRIBLE. Walked in at around 5:30pm on a Friday. Place was pretty empty at that time. We were checking out the menu at the front for while and 3 employees looked at us and chose not to acknowledge or help us. One guy finally came over and went over options with us. Once we were seated, we were rarely checked on, had to keep raising our hand to get the waiters attention. Waiter looked miserable to be working here. When he did take our meat orders he seemed annoyed. The experience was overall very disappointing. I would never return to this place again. Okay, honestly, I was skeptical about this place because I've personally never heard about it from my friends or anyone.. but I'm so glad I came here. The space itself is huge. The seating is great and spaced out really well, which I appreciated. It has a kind of futuristic vibe, which is pretty neat. They have a bar area with smaller snacks, sushi, desserts, plus a sauce and salad station. There's also another station with a small freezer that has different ice cream flavors for no extra charge. Their all you can eat plan has three tiers: a basic option, a premium option, and an executive option. The prices are honestly pretty decent. My friend and I got the middle tier, and it came out to about $80 for two people. We were satisfied with the quality of the meat, the variety, and how much you're actually able to eat. It really felt like we got our money's worth, which made me really happy. As far as customer service goes, everything was fine. Nothing over the top, but no complaints.. it was chill and smooth overall. My only preference or suggestion would be to maybe dim some of the lights a bit. KBBQ spots that set the mood a little more rather than have well lit/bright lights always do better. It would give it like a night life/futuristic/cyberpunk type vibe. read more

So close to giving this location a 5 star until I bit into a plastic piece in my food... Let's start with the good part. The meat quality is good. Meat rolls are not frozen and can easily unwrap. The self-serving bar is a great addition. We had fun trying out the different sushi, and they were all so good! The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seats. Additionally, if you post 5+ photos of the restaruant to your social media, you will get $10 off vouchers (they also discounted my meal). My critique: 1) I found a clear plastic piece in my corn cheese. It was definitely a red flag, and could've easily been swallowed if I had not notice. 2) The lights are pink, so it was hard for me to determine if the food is cooked. 3) Never had worse kimchi (tofu) stew. Wow Cow?? I was NOT WOWED. Truly a disappointing dinner. Came in as a party of 8 and we were seated at a long table with two grills. One side of the table received great service with grill changes every 5 minutes while the other side didn't get a grill change until we asked for one. We noticed that the grill was unusually low heat, so we asked the server to turn it up since our brisket was taking forever to cook. Unfortunately, it took us some fiddling around to figure out how to turn up the heat of our grill. As I was about to pick up a piece of brisket, I noticed a strange light reflecting off of the meat. I set it down and noticed a piece of metal stuck to the meat. I picked it up and felt it with my fingers and it was most definitely metal. Possibly from those metal dish scrubbers. I alerted a server when she came over to change our grill. I let her know that I found metal in the meat and no longer want to eat. She responded with "Oh no, I can take that for you." So yes I did pick it up and put it on the dirty grill to be taken away. After a couple minutes, she came over and apologized for metal, offering me a choice of strawberry or carrot towel. She also let us know that the beers ordered by my friends (2 Sapporo and 1 Heineken which would be $17 total) would be on the house. I truly did appreciate the apology and offer of a cute towel, however, it was weird that they comped the beers that my friends ordered when I was the one who found metal in my food? I didn't even order or drink beer so it felt like a weird way to apologize. The ambiance and decor here is interesting and the salad bar is definitely unique.
