I visited TK92 Korean BBQ with my husband, and we had such a great experience. It's an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ spot, but honestly, it felt even more "Korean" than some places back in Korea. The interior is decorated with a Taekwon V theme, which was so unique and nostalgic. It really brought back old memories and gave us that authentic Korean vibe, which we loved. The food quality and variety were excellent, and everything we tried was delicious. Service was also very friendly and attentive. Since it's a very popular place, there can be a wait, and sometimes the servers are quite busy so food might come out a bit slower--but they were always kind and did their best to take care of us. The only consistency is their bait-and-switch tactic on premium cuts of meat which are already limited in quantity AND their lack of attention for grill changes. - - - - - - I've long had TK92 on my list and thought it was a must-try... turns out it's actually a must avoid! Parking is by far the best part, since there's plenty of underground parking. When you enter, there is a gundam-like vibe. Reservations are allowed, but note that tables only really seat 4. It's hard to have larger parties, and you will be split between more than one table. (And 18%+ gratuity will still be required even if you can't sit at the same table.) With only a $3 price difference, it's so tempting to order the most expensive menu. The meats the first round were amazing. However, after ordering the same meats again, the meats that were very tough and rubbery. While the meats were highly inconsistent, there were two consistent things. The first were the limited scallops, and the second was the lack of service. Our servers barely came by, and our grill was often charred to the point where you could've told me it was a charcoal machine for a grill pan, and I'd believe you. So happy with our first visit here tonight. The service was great , everyone was friendly and very attentive. The food was very good. We ordered brisket , beef belly , short ribs , steamed egg , fried dumplings & some more goodies. Our family really was pleased with our dinner. First time trying Tk92 and it's a good local kBBQ spot. I'll give this place 3.5/5. We came here for my brother's birthday and we decided to give this spot a try. The parking upstairs is a little small but they have an underground lot. They have a nice interior space and was robot themed so that was cool to see. They had a bar in the front but it wasn't in use and seemed to be more of a service space. They had a game in the front for everyone to try to get a free meal but none of us won unfortunately, but it was fun to try. We had a decent party size that they accomodated but the tables and walkways were quite small. It wad hard to walk around and the waiter's had to walk one ways down aisles sometimes. It would've been nicer if the tables were spaced a little further apart from one another as the spaces were a little tight but it was tolerable. We gave the premium option a try and tried variety of meats. The banchan was nice and there was a good selection of sides. We tried the k-ramen and tofu stew. I liked the bean sprouts in the soup and it went well with the oily meats. My family also liked the stew. Other people got the cheese corn and kimchi fried rice and liked it. The brisket was alright and to be expected. Personally just not a favorite but my table liked it. The pork belly and beef belly weren't bad. The premium meats were nice and I quite liked the galbi and marinated short rib. The beef tongue was also pretty good. The scallops were just alright and not really flavorful but it was nice to have it as an option. I wish I had more of a stomach to try other meats, but the food was really delicious. We unfortunately had an ice cream cake and it melted a bit in the fridge but they were accommodating of the birthday celebration by providing us with plates and utensils. How is it possible to have AYCE boneless short rib at a KBBQ?! Crazy but i was instantly sold! The interior is super fun Gundam-themed, which makes it feel different from your typical spot. We went on a Saturday night and waited a little under an hour since they only take reservations for parties of 6+. Luckily, there's an arcade area, bar, and photo booth to keep you entertained. The servers were friendly and efficient, and the meats came out fast every time. We got the $40 premium set and the special galbi was my favorite! Only thing I noticed was we weren't offered a grill change, but the grill stayed pretty clean and didn't burn fast so it wasn't a big deal. I'm not a 626 native, but my friend who is took us here and wow- what a unique restaurant! As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with an old video games/comics vibe with a recurring blue robot character decorated all around the interior, which was so cool to look at. There were also claw machines, a photobooth, arcade games, and a foosball table. A fun addition to this game-like ambience was the opportunity to win a free meal if you managed to press a button at exactly 0.92 second (you only get 1 try though). We opted for the deluxe tier and for the price you pay, you get a LOT of food options, which I think is worth the value. We ordered LA galbi, steak, beef belly, beef brisket, pork belly, rib fingers, bulgogi, steamed egg, scallion pancake, and corn cheese. I thought the belly and brisket were too dry for my liking, and no matter how much sauce I submerged these meats in, the dryness prevailed. I did like the thicker cut meats though, as they didn't dry out and were more flavorful. The side dishes were unlimited (yay!). I'm curious to know if the premium meats make a huge difference in terms of quality and taste. Service was very attentive and friendly. I'm not sure what communication system they use (they all seem to have ear pieces), but for how all the tables are set up and hard to easily access as servers, they are super fast and constantly check up to make sure you have everything you need. Sad. This place was our go to Korean bbq! After today's service, don't think we would be coming back .... in the near future at least. We had multiple items missing everytime we ordered. I had to ask the server with the mullet multiple times for our sides. We even saw it sitting on the counter ready but it took us to remind him to bring it to us. It would also take a while to order / get the food ...it left us feeling that it cut into our 90 minutes way too much. No warning, they just gave us the bill. I went with a party of 5 people, and weirdly enough, they preferred to separate us into two booths that were next to each other, but I would have preferred us to share a big table. So this is an updated review because I was pescatarian for 5 years and just started eating meat again! This was my first Korean bbq in the states this year!! And they just changed their menu! Now I haven't been here in awhile but the quality is still so good! Lots of dishes, meats and diversity you can order!! I came on Halloween and the staff was all dressed up as someone bald! Our server David was really nice! He was gru!!! And all the other coworkers were very helpful, very collaborative and speedy service. We would order our meet and it would come within 2 minutes. It was fairly busy too! We loved the tk92 galbi!! Which is in the premium menu. It's 40 bucks per person that's not bad at all! We also enjoyed all their marinated meats (usually I don't but it was good nice quality) and I love how frequently they change their grill! I didn't think it was too too sweet I enjoyed it with their chimichuri sauce or regular sesame oil and salt! Oh and the bulldak noodles and ramen hit the spot!!! Scallion pancake is too oily, also the corn cheese comes in a tiny metal container... it was inconvenient to eat but probably easier to clean! Thanks for a wonderful time once again! One of my favorite kbbq places. Better than a lot of AYCE in ktown imo! They can get really busy so be prepared for a wait. They have 2 options for AYCE and servers are all really professional and attentive with orders. Having been a server before, I was super impressed with the wait staff. They were super diligent! All of their cuts of meat are great! The only think I don't love is that it gets really smoky in the restaurant. The ventilation could be better. It's good for AYCE kbbq in the SGV area but it's really mediocre overall. Meat was ok but marinade is SUPER sweet. Price wise there's only a $3 difference between regular and premium which is really nice for getting better cuts without a crazy markup. Parking is easy too since there's an underground lot. Taste wise though...the marinades are VERYYYY sweet like sickly sweet, would not recommend. The brisket was also hit or miss. The first round was great and we ordered another and it turned out more dry and chewy. Meat wise nothing was very wow or memorable it was just ok. The appetizers are good though! Steamed egg is nice and fluffy and there's Buldak fire noodles and spicy (maybe shin?) ramen too. The banchan and salad wasn't good, but they do have radish wraps and rice paper. For sauces, we asked for soybean paste and salt+sesame oil to dip. They also give you garlic and jalapeños upon request. It was good for kbbq in this area if you're craving it just so you don't have to drive far .... This is hands down one of my go-to KBBQ spots in SoCal! The quality of the meat is always solid, service is consistent, and I've noticed most people share the same experience here. Location & Parking TK92 is tucked inside Life Plaza Center on Valley Blvd (west of Del Mar Ave). If you're pulling in, the restaurant is on the bottom left corner of the first floor. Parking can be a little tricky--there's a tiny upper lot with maybe 10-15 spots, but most of the time you'll end up in the underground structure. Heads up: once you're underground, say goodbye to your phone signal. The Setup Walking in, you go down a hallway that passes an arcade (yes, random but fun) and leads to a waiting area with sofas and chairs. There's even a sit-down bar in that area, but it's hardly used nowadays. Once you step in further, the counter is on your left and that's where you'll get greeted. ‍ Service & Food Servers are attentive and actually check in throughout the meal, which I really appreciate. The meat quality is legit, and they have different menu tiers depending on what you want to spend. Honestly, the basic level works just fine for me--it's still tasty and filling. Overall TK92 is a spot I always come back to because they deliver the same good service and food every time. Came here for Sunday lunch with my friends - and we seated right away! Their menu is all you can eat, and we splurge for the premium option! All of their cuts of meat are fresh and tender. I've definitely had better brisket elsewhere and the rib fingers were tough to chew so don't think I'll get that next time. Solid place - good variety of meat. (Meat quality is great.) Banchans and other side dishes like the dumplings, cold noodles, and egg were really good as well. Compared to other places we've been to, this is top on our lists for the price and quality - You don't leave with that really heavy feeling at the end of the meal. I think it has to do with the quality of the food and food preparation (it's not overly seasoned with salt or sugar). Which is important when going for AYCE KBBQ. I need to preface by saying I'm not a big fan of AYCE KBBQ and it's not because it's an overuse of acronyms. I just never believe the quality is that great and it only justifies itself if you can eat half a cow. I'd rather just go to a KBBQ and order the meat à la carte, the quality is almost always better. But! I will give credit to TK92 for having pretty good quality (not the best of course) at a very fair price. And best of all is their service which was fantastic from placing the reservation to leaving the restaurant. Extremely disappointing experience. From the moment we walked in, nobody acknowledged or helped us, even though more than 70% of the restaurant was empty. We waited around 20 minutes until a male server with tattoos finally came over, but instead of seating us first, he seated a group of five who had just arrived after us. Absolutely ridiculous. The entire experience only got worse from there. Nobody came to check on us, replace the grill, or even take our order unless we repeatedly asked multiple times. It honestly felt like they didn't want us there at all. After finally being able to place a second round order near the end of the meal, the quality of the meat was noticeably worse than the first round. The beef tongue even looked dark and old. The wait has died down here from about two years ago. I went on a Sunday night and the wait was only 10 minutes. It was a nice surprise that they changed their menu to add more items but kept the same price. I was really impressed by the changes they made. I only really liked their beef tongue before and the other meats, I felt like quality was lacking. However with the changes now, their woodae galbi and boneless short rib was excellent quality. Their corn cheese also changed for the better to be much sweeter. Their scallops was fresh and I was so impressed. I've never seen a kbbq spot serve fresh scallops before. This is in a trendy spot in 626... off of Valley Blvd with all the other yummy popular 626 foodie spots :-) We made reservations a few days prior & got seated quickly with no problems. For a Friday night.. I was surprised to see it wasn't too packed. The last time I came we waited a long time to get seated. My favorite meats/dishes were: - Beef Tongue - Beef Brisket - Kimchi Rice - Beef Rib - Seafood Pancake The way I kept eating so much of the seafood pancake while waiting for the meat to come out ... Opted for the premium menu which cost around $44 per person with tax added. First off let's start off with the good things about their meat. Their signature marinated beef rib was juicy and tender alongside the beef tongue with added chewiness was a delight to the meal. The bad part about the meats was the bulgogi and the beef brisket. Both were lean and dried out very fast on the grill. We had pork belly cooked prior to that to add fat and grease but the grill still burned after cooking the bulging and beef brisket. Wouldn't recommend these two types of meat. It was very dry. The tofu soup was not too salty unlike other bbq places like baekjeong but it was kinda strange that egg drop was added to the broth. Other than that, service was fast and friendly. They came to check up on us constantly and was quick to deliver napkins, refill water and take our orders. There wasn't a lot of people for a Saturday which was a bit surprising considering it was a weekend. Only a quarter of the restaurant was full. We got seated in the corner and there were gnats flying everywhere in every direction. We asked to be moved to another table to see if it would be better but it was the same. We couldn't shake them and it was flying into the food, grills, and sauces. I just realized this restaurant is named after an genre of foods, should already mean something. I'm not sure what the TK92 means but maybe from the vintage korean inspiration, the decor is pretty nice and its a fun place to eat. The soju is buy 2 get 1 free so we were tempted but it was a weekday. I used to live in koreatown so I have to be a little judgy and I don't normally eat AYCE but this spot is overall good. The brisket wasn't 30-40% fat like it normally is most placed, I get it, fat is flavor but too much fat melts into oil so theres nothing to chew at the end. The steaks options are good too, with the bone in and everything makes a big difference. The banchan pretty good and the service was really great, the guys and gals are really running around doing it all. The establishment isn't owned by koreans, I could tell but I dont think most people know. I'd go again if I dont feel like driving to ktown or I'd say its one of the better AYCE. read more

You cook yourself, though staff are readily present to help with banchan refills and grill replacements, which happen very often. Our favorite meats are the thin sliced pork belly and LA galbi. Banchan include a salad, japchae, pajon, macaroni salad, rice paper, broccoli, fish cake, radish. This time around, we learned you need to request kimchi and that they had eliminated cucumber. We wish they'd bring back cucumber because it adds an acidic element. Steamed egg is included in the AYCE and that might be my favorite part of TK92! read more
