Wanted to try a new hotpot place so decided to come to 101. Came here during lunch special so the price was not bad at all. The options they have are pretty good. The meat they give is of great quality. A huge plus and very rare is that they have a fridge with soda cans, herb tea (lurng cha) cans up for grabs that's included with the ayce. Plus after you finish your meal, they have a little ice cream bar that's thrifty for your sweet tooth. Staff is super friendly but English isn't their first language so it might be hard to understand but good enough English to order and ask some questions. The place is pretty casual and good for any type of group. They even have a board where you can write on post its or put how many plates you succeeded in eating. Overall I give this place 5 stars

Yummy! This was so good! The pork belly was delicious and the prime angus too! We got the premium menu for lunch and it was perfect. We tried the sakiyaki, miso and sour & spicy special broths. Each person can pick one or two broths. I would 100% get the sakiyaki every time, it was so good would pass on the miso next time. The sour & spicy special was delicious! But I am interested in trying a new spicy one next time! The cold bar section was really fun too, I got to try some different types of mushrooms and fungus! Really good! I would recommend trying to out! Plus they have unlimited soda cans and ice cream if you want that.

We came here for lunch and it wasn't too busy, which was nice bc we had a noisy little one. The place is pretty simple. Sit down. Order soup base. Choose between the regular v high tier meat options. And then grab your veggies and fish balls etc at the bar (near the front door) and grab your own drinks (near the check out counter). The staff was kind. We actually had a lot of people checking in on us for extra meat orders. It is weird though that everything else is self-grab, including extra utensils, water/drinks etc. lol! I thought the buffet selection was pretty good for the small space. Also, you get to pick two soups and they come out in a small split bowl. You can control the temp yourself on the table top electric burner thing. The meat portions per round aren't bad either. There is a parking lot behind as well as free street parking out front. It's next to a tea shop. There's a single gender neutral bathroom inside.

Came here on Boxing Day (the day after Christmas) because the wait at Momo Paradise was just way too long. Honestly, it ended up being a pretty solid backup plan! The meat selection is a bit limited for the $39 price point, but the quality of the meat was actually really good. They have about 6 different soup bases to choose from, we went with the spicy and the mushroom, and both were flavorful. One of the best perks? Free drinks! They have the standard Coke and Diet Coke, but they also include milk tea in the AYCE price, which was a nice surprise. The staff was super friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Parking wasn't an issue either, as they have a dedicated side lot. It's a little on the pricey side for what you get, but for good quality meat and a shorter wait time, I'd come back.

Price was decent with unlimited drinks and ice cream, but with very limited food options. It was a very small restaurant and the overall layout was just odd (room temperature cans of drinks and water station at the register counter, hot pot items and sauce at the front entrance, ice cream station at another corner). I couldn't get wait to get out of there because one of the staff (probably the owner?) was practicing her drums. The whole time while her customers were eating, she sitting a one of the table just was looking at her iPad and drumming away. That gave me a very bad vibe so I honestly don't think there will be a return visit.

I tried this newer AYCE hot pot restaurant recently. They are not too far from the Arcadia mall. They're across the street from the 85 Bakery. There is free parking in the lot nearby. They named the regular menu "premium" $32.95 and the more expensive one "prime" $48.95. With a $16 difference between the two, I decided to go for the premium for my first time. What makes this place stand out is that you get individual pots - and you can choose two soups! The menu said the sour and spicy and jelly golden chicken were prime items, but the server said we can choose those even though we got the premium menu. The tomato soup was best with original tonkotsu coming second. The sour and spicy special broth was a bit off, so we actually asked for this to be changed. Of the premium items, I liked the snakehead fish filet the best. The beef, lamb, and pork were so fatty!! The shrimp was ok. I didn't even try chicken breast because...why. All the veggies and sauces are self-serve. These items and drinks are right by the entrance door. They had tea dispensers and canned Coke and Sprite. There is a separate fridge for self-scoop ice cream in the other corner of the restaurant. Service is ok. There was one lady who would look at us once in a while. One thing I thought was weird is that they didn't have white rice at the time of my visit on a Sunday afternoon.

Left is sour and spicy and right side is jelly golden chicken

101 Hot Pot All You Can Eat - A Hidden Gem Worth Discovering My friends and I were craving hotpot this past Tuesday and happened to stumble upon 101 Hot Pot All You Can Eat. One of us remembered hearing about them back when they were in El Monte, CA, but never got the chance to try it. We decided to take the leap--and I'm so glad we did. We'll definitely be returning--next time to try the Mala soup base. If you're a hotpot fan looking for great value and unique options like abalone, give 101 Hot Pot a shot! What We Ordered: Prime Buffet - $48.99 This tier includes premium broths and a wide selection of meats and seafood: Broths: Spicy & Sour Soup, Jelly Golden Chicken Meats: US Wagyu Chuck Cross, Wagyu Brisket, Wagyu Chuck Eye Seafood: Abalone, Oyster, Tiger Shrimp, Green Mussel Highlights: Jelly Golden Chicken Broth (9/10): Comforting and rich--it reminded me of a Chinese version of chicken noodle soup, just without the noodles. Definitely a must-try. US Wagyu Chuck Cross & Brisket: Tender and flavorful. The Chuck Eye was a bit too lean for my taste. Seafood Standouts: The abalone was a rare and welcome treat, oysters were fresh, and tiger shrimp had great texture. Great Portioning: Meats come out neatly sliced (6-8 pieces per plate), which helps avoid over-ordering and food waste. Drinks on Draft: Unlimited soda cans plus milk tea and ice lemon tea on draft--super convenient! DIY Sauce & Veggie Bar: Self-serve style makes customizing your hotpot experience super easy. Don't miss the money bag dumpling--stuffed with shrimp and egg, it was amazing. Dessert Bonus: Grab Thrifty ice cream from the self-serve freezer to end your meal on a sweet note. Ambiance: The restaurant has a clean and modern design with soft background music--comfortable and inviting without being too loud. Areas for Improvement: Service is a bit slow. It looks like they're running on a lean, possibly family-run model. It was manageable on a Tuesday, but might not hold up on a busy weekend. Premium Meat Cuts: The lamb was sliced too thick, and the prime angus beef was overly fatty. Something to note if you're picky about texture. Tips: -Accepts credit cards -Indoor seating only -Clean restroom available -Located across from 85°C and Momo Paradise -Free parking shared with Sharetea, or look for street parking -Avoid weekends until staffing improves

Came here for the first time recently with some friends. We got there around 6pm on a weekday and I was surprised to see it wasn't crowded. Our waitress was super funny and friendly. The food was really good too! Each of us got our own individual split pots and got to choose 2 broths each. I loved all the options they had at the veggies/noodles/extras garden. Not all hot pot places have corn available so I was happy they had it! They also had milk tea and soft drinks available. Ice was available upon request for your drinks. They had some warm sides available for you to grab yourself too- such as fried rice and egg rolls. I really wanted some white rice to pair with my meal and they were able to bring me some when we asked. My one disappointment... I had no clue they had ice cream available until I looked at the reviews after! It was our first time and we didn't see anything about it on the menu and hadn't heard about it from our server. Our server had gotten busy by the time we were done eating so it was just bad timing. Makes me want to go back for the ice cream :)! Overall, the food was really good here and I'd come back!

Went here around 8:30 on a chilly Sunday night hoping for something warm and filling and it hit the sweet spot perfectly. The soup is actually packed with the intended flavors rather than being watered down, the quality of the cuts is actually good for the standards of AYCE. There are also various side dishes to choose from (like fried rice, egg roll, gyoza, etc.) and the salad and sauce bar to pick from. The staff is also very sweet and attentive. The best thing yet, this place welcomes single diners (Mo-Mo Paradise a block away quotes 2 hour wait for single diners as opposed to group who would get the table much faster) so definitely a good place for people who wants hot pot but likes to dine by themselves!

101 Pot All You Can Eat lets you build your own hot pot your way. ::Food:: We went with the Premium option and picked shrimp and Prime Angus beef. The beef was too fatty for me. For broths, I tried Tonkotsu and tomato, but both were bland. The sauces weren't great either. The self-serve bar had plenty of veggies, noodles, and tofu to choose from. ::Dessert:: The desserts were the best part! The ice cream and red bean sesame balls stole the show. ::Customer Service:: The staff were friendly and helpful, even though it was busy. The service was great, but I don't think I'll come back. ::M's Notes:: - Indoor seating - Parking: Street and lot

Stumbled on this restaurant while looking for another AYCE hotpot place to try (: I'm so happy to report that it did not disappoint! This place is clean, easy to order, and relaxing to enjoy. There are two options: premium ($32.95 per person) or prime ($48.95 per person). I went with the premium and chose two broth: tonkatsu and mala. Other broths they have are sukiyaki, tomato and two other broths but those come with only the prime menu. They have all my basic hotpot ingredients but one item that stood out to me that I don't see at other AYCE hotpot places is the MONEY BAGS (picture attached in my review) ! This is one of the reasons for my visit here heh *not pictured but we also ordered prawns and fish (: yummy ! Especially fish in the mala broth The meal also includes drinks and ice cream.. available drinks are sodas, lemon iced teas and jasmine soy milk . I was so excited to see that they served thriftys ice cream (if you know you know, it's yummy) ! Thanks 101 pot, I'll definitely be visiting again (:

First time at 101 today. We arrived a few minutes after opening and were pleased to be seated right away. Clean and plentiful selection of veggies, noodles and seafood options at the bar. We opted for the basic tier on the menu and tried the angus beef, pork belly, shrimp and mussels. Portion sizes were generous and love that the meat slices were not frozen or sliced too thinly like other neighboring shabu places. Everything is self serve - drinks, ice cream and sauces. Service was attentive and helpful but the only thing was that rice was not available immediately, which is a staple for me when eating shabu. Overall, enjoyed the meal and ambiance as the relaxing classical music played in the background.

This place is good for the tiger shrimp and the abalone. Some of the meat I got was so dry and thick, not a fan. Make sure you waitlist ahead of time on Yelp because the wait at night can be long. Service is not as quick. We sat at our table for about 10-15 mins asking for assistance before they had time to help us out. Soup bases are just okay. It's better going to the individualized pre set food for good soups. The value of the meal is there if you eat a lot of the seafood though. My dad, sis and I opted for the highest tier and ate our hearts out. They have their own veggies stand, drink around (jasmine soy milk?, lemon ice tea (which was yummy), and water), and self scoop ice cream area. SAVE YOUR STOMACH FOR ICE CREAM. omg the ice cream was probably my favorite part of this place! Sooo freakin good, artisanal, and has the best flavor choices!!! I ate so much ice cream at the end because all the flavors were just so good. Can't express how much I love their ice cream. They had pistachio (soo good), green tea (it was okay), and the mocha (soooooo goood). Sum it up, there's a wait, they need more servers, soup base and food is okay (shrimp and abalone is good), and THE ICE CREAM IS AMAZING. There's parking in the back but it's a bit of a tighter area and you are sharing the lot with nearby stores.

First off, the takoyaki octopus balls were full of flavor. I feel that this place does them really well. You don't feel overwhelmed by any seafood tastes and instead, you get well balanced flavor throughout every bite with the combination of the ball itself, the sauces and the flakes on top. Next is the omurice. The egg is cooked to perfection and tastes absolutely amazing. The curry, however, which was recommended by the waiter over the Demi glaze, tasted exactly like the Vermont curry cube you get in the grocery store, so I'm not sure why he recommended that over the Demi glaze. The fried rice within the omurice was alright too. Originally, I wanted to get the tonkatsu omurice but got it on the side as the choice wasn't available for the lunch menu. I would suggest doing without the tonkatsu because it was dry and there's a million and one places that can do tonkatsu better than this place. Honestly, I wish I had the opportunity to cut the omurice myself and choose how much curry I put on it, but the staff did that instead, which I guess made for a good video, but took away from my innate desires to cut the egg on my own haha. Next, the ramen tasted pretty basic like what you could get at any ramen shop. For the chicken wings, I've never had chicken wings in this flavor. They were really really good and I would definitely recommend the wings. For the desserts, I enjoyed both the matcha and the snow globe. I'm not sure what I enjoyed more, however. The snow globe is a gelatin and it doesn't really have too much flavor until you get to the parts with the flower. Plus the little clear balls have a nice flavor and texture. For the matcha, it has an interesting texture and then an interestingly light, yet deep matcha flavor. Oh the drinks. The Thai tea tastes exactly like how it does everywhere else. The amazing lemonade is a lemonade with a few slight modifications, like with cucumber and maybe some other things as well. For the service, it's pretty good here. Everyone is pretty attentive. There are three things at the table, such as cayenne pepper and two other bowls you can add to your dishes to add flavor. I forgot the name of the one I liked but it looked kind of like pork floss or loose tea, and that one had a lot of flavor. I think what's most appealing about this place is the ambiance because you can like sit in a honeycomb, there's fancy designs everywhere and you feel like you're in a different place. I think it's a good restaurant but it's kind of weird how some things here are amazing and some are just okay.

The flavors were great, and I'd definitely come back. My biggest concern, though, was that the hot beef noodle soup was served in a plastic bowl, and all of the utensils were plastic as well. Serving very hot soup in plastic makes me wonder about the potential for microplastics or other chemicals leaching into the food. If you're concerned about plastic coming into contact with hot food, this is definitely something to keep in mind. Great food, but I really wish they would use ceramic or another non-plastic bowl for hot soup.

I come for the Taiwanese classics that are becoming harder to find. The popcorn chicken is still one of my favorites--crispy, fragrant, and seasoned the way Taiwanese street vendors do it. The Taiwanese meatball soup is comforting, and the Taiwanese sausage always reminds me of night markets back home. What I appreciate most is that SinBala doesn't just serve street food. It brings those familiar flavors into a warm, home-style setting. It's nostalgic without trying too hard. Before you leave, save room for dessert. Their shaved ice is a must. I always recommend the brown sugar shaved ice topped with five mochi or boba. It's refreshing, not overly sweet, and the perfect ending to a meal. Taiwanese food is often overshadowed by other regional Chinese cuisines, but places like SinBala remind me how unique it really is. Simple, comforting, and full of character. I'm grateful this little piece of Taiwan is still here.

A bit sweeter than my preference but maybe cuz I put condensed milk on it as one of the toppings. The grass jelly shaped firm and nice cubes so possible it's from a can as opposed to in house. Sausage I had as well not the best I've had but traditional flavor and served with lots of garlic on the side (wahoo!)
