How could they NOT provide packing materials other than PEANUTS to pack fragile ivory carved pieces that would cause the peanuts to get embedded in the intricate carving and then break the piece? How can they suggest they MOVE my pieces to their facility for proper packing? HOW will they transport them to their facility? Short version: great packing job, some dishonest business practices. I had my room packed and shipped after moving out of town. I needed to ship several fragile musical instruments, so I purchased damage insurance on top of basic loss insurance. In writing, I sent a list of items to be covered under the insurance policy. I was unable to be onsite during pick up, and on my pick up receipt, they only wrote "instrument cases" - not indicating there were actual instruments inside. I called them up to ask why. Ron told me pretty bluntly that they did this so they would not be liable for damage - in other words if my guitar came to me with a crack down the middle or was missing from the case, I wouldn't be able to collect insurance. This struck me as very dishonest and unethical. If you're going to sell your customers insurance policies, you must be willing to accept the initial value. Fortunately, their packing job was rock solid and nothing was damaged. Also Santiago was super friendly on the phone. read more

Everything was delivered intact, and in good condition. I had no complaints, unlike the previous movers we hired. Wright Way is a little different from a standard moving company in that they don't reassemble the furniture on the delivery-side. But they do disassemble everything for you on the move-out side. On moving day, they took out our furniture and moved it out to a truck. When it arrived, it was palletized and wrapped well. There was no damage, and everything was there, with no items missing. And to top it all off, on moving day, they showed up when they said they would, were extremely fast and efficient, and were very professional and friendly. I will never move this way again. My God. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money on an actual moving company. They pack all your furniture in boxes upon boxes stapled together in some Picasso fashion and stuffed with so much styrofoam. It's so wasteful and makes unpacking twice as hard; especially if you're unpacking by yourself. My box cutter can't even cut through all the boxes they staples together to pack my things. There's just too much. On top of that they crushed some of the boxes that I packed that had expensive items in them. It is cheaper but for a reason. read more

Warning: Super Long Post If I could give a "No Star or Minus Star" I would. Caveat Emptor (Buyer beware). It took me a couple of months to write this review because I was so angry and mortified by the experience that I wanted to give myself time to calm down before I wrote my review. I also was not going to write a review because I was tired and frustrated and disappointed by the entire mishap but realized hindsight being 20/20 if I had to do over again I would have read the reviews and elected to higher a professional moving company. So I want to make sure I am adding my reviews so future customers have their eyes wide open and are aware of what may happen if they hire this company. Let's start with the fact that we were moving from San Diego to North Carolina and Wright Way came to our house to wrapped up and moved our furniture to their warehouse. We had agreed that they would stored it for a couple of months since we had not found a house and knew it was going to take time. This part of the process was seamless and I actually had a bit of relief and felt confident that my furniture would be taken care of. Until... We contacted the company to let them know that we had closed on our house on June 19th and we were ready to have our furniture delivered. They asked us if we could wait until all (3) freights were shipped so that they could deliver it all at one time, it would save them on their expense since they would only need to have a delivery company deliver once. I wasn't happy since we were sleeping on an air mattress but we accommodated their request. I had immediately concerned by the fact that they were delivering my furniture separately on 3 different freight trains (that made no sense). We received a call from the dispatcher to let us know that they only had one shipment and they were expecting the 2nd shipment to arrive the next day but because it was July 4th weekend, they would not be able to deliver it until the following Monday. Did I mention that we called them on June 19th and here it is almost 3 weeks later before we received our furniture? Monday arrived and we received notification that they only had one shipment (where are the other 2 freights?)...they reply they are still in transit. You got to be kidding me, so I waited because you stated that you wanted to deliver all 3 together only to have them shipped separately, really?! Now, when we initially hired the company I asked specifically what happens if you deliver the furniture and there is a forecast of rain. They replied "we would wait and we wouldn't be delivered the furniture". WRONG!!! The truck driver dropped off the pallets and 15 minutes later, it was raining. Wright way had hired a company on our behalf to help us unpacked the pallets since my husband and I are no longer spring chickens. The one guy was cutting through the boxes with his box cutter without a clue of what was in the box. I had to instruct him to stop until we determine what was actually inside of each box. He was rude and complaining and talking under his breath the entire time. We open one pallet with our bookcases, 7 of them were smashed as if a hi-low went straight through the box and they were crushed upon impact. My cocktail table, end tables, sofa tables were scratched and the wood cracked. My office leather chair was ripped. Our footboard for very expensive bed was torn. Not to mention the fact that they lost one of our shipments (with family heirlooms) and it took over 2 weeks to find it. Everytime we call to ask where I stuff was, the reply is my representative is on vacation and we don't know where it is. I'm trying to get someone to assist but having no luck! Between the workers who smelled like marijuana and the fact that they refuse to pay for the damages, this has been the worst experience in my life when it comes to moving. Oh by the way...we are still waiting to hear from WrightWay for resolution, even though we have called repeatedly and sent pictures and Ron's response was the insurance wouldn't cover these types of damages. Then why did you encourage us to pay an additional $300 for something that would not be cover? I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and I would recommend that you RUN not walk away from doing business with them. Maybe they are good for short-distance moves but it is apparent they are clueless when it comes to shipping long distances. The money we tried to save by hiring them, is now being spent to replace the damaged furniture but it doesn't cover the loss of time and frustration of dealing over a month to get my furniture. Wright Way was recommended to me by a friend that used them for a 1400# move to Houston for her first job. I really wanted this to work out for my move to Bentonville, AR like all the 5 star reviews, but it was not to be. It was not a disaster, just not as smooth and damage free as I hoped. Mine was a larger move and I think this is more adept to smaller moves. My quote was for 6000#, but ended up being off by 2200#s. Total of 8200#s and 14 pallets and one crate. So obviously the price went up, but still fair deal for the weight we had. The guys were nice and did a pretty good job the day the picked up my stuff. They were a little late arriving and Ron called at which time I told him how many boxes and he called for another van, which was good because they filled every square inch on both vehicles. There was no definite promise of when my stuff would ship, just ASAP. It's was a lot of work to prep, but with a commitment of 10-14 working days for arrival, I expected it to leave town sooner. They picked up on Jan 17 and the first shipment left on Jan 29 and second on Jan. 30. I got the first shipment on Feb. 8, 16 business days from pick up. Not too far outside the window given. However, the second shipment just a day later did not do so well. It sat in Fontana for 6 days and Dallas for 3 and did not arrive until Feb. 13, two weeks after ship date and 19 business days after pick up.....almost a full month in calendar days to go without our belongings. The freight company and guys that delivered our stuff were very nice and very accommodating. They brought it all the way to the garage but the pallets were to tall to fit. So I would break down the top level of the pallets as he unloaded the others and then he took the partially broken down pallets into the garage On the second shipment, two guys came and one guy would help me break down as the other unloaded. Huge help. But as previously mentioned, The second shipping sitting at stops and taking two weeks to arrive was the most frustrating part.....especially when a lot of the stuff that arrived in the first shipment needed something in the second shipment for reassembly. I wish I could say as others that our goods arrived unscathed, but I can't. We had breakage and damage. For the most part, everything was packed very well. The shippers even commented on how well it was packed from the outside. Here are our losses. - a blue handmade vase from above the FR fireplace that my wife made in college 40+ years ago got cracked. It was in the crate with all the heavy electronic equipment and not padded as well as other fragile items. Mainly just small pieces of Styrofoam around it that allowed it to jostle around. This vase had survived 8 previous moves. - a roaster oven was put on a pallet with no padding or protection and one end bordered on the outside. One of the plastic handles was broken on one end and the side caved in. My guess when someone loaded the pallet on a forklift. - a floor lamp that was packed in the crate with the paintings. The light socket was bent and broken off. - the mattress of the master bedroom cal king has about 10" of a seam torn apart. - the master bedroom headboard has 3 nicks in it not their before. - one ceramic piece from kitchen was broken in half We have not unpacked the china and crystal, but did sample checks and all looks fine so far. Did not unpack the heavy glass tops for coffee table, but again look solidly packed. We have not unpacked the paintings, but will check out this weekend. The grandmother clock and the large rug from the living room remains in their boxes. It was an interesting experience and more work than I expected it to be. But did enjoy the cost savings. But with the delays and breakage and almost no communications along the way (I wrote this summary up for Wright Way and got no response), I don't think I would go this route again for a large shipment. Maybe small, but not large. read more

Read about my experience: At seventy-four years of age, disabled, and with nobody to help me, I was struggling in vain to save my business, trying to convince any moving company to move my eighty boxes of stored supplies moved from the San Diego area to Eugene, Oregon. After talking with over eighty moving and storage companies, all of whom said they could not do a two-day direct delivery for a load as small as mine, I was feeling absolutely hopeless. I needed the supplies immediately. By pure chance I happened upon Wainright's company (Wright Way Crating, Packing & Shipping) listing on the internet. Mr. Ron Wainright answered his phone, listened patiently while I repeated my tale of woe, and said he thought he could help. Ron called me back a short while later. He had taken the trouble to call a driver whom he thought might be heading out in my direction. Ron asked the driver if there was room for my boxes, specifying a two-day delivery. The driver immediately went over to the pick-up address, loaded my boxes, and headed for Oregon on his way to make a shared load delivery in a third state. Two days later, the driver appeared on my doorstep and unloaded the boxes for me. As a former faculty member at two major California universities, I taught management for many years. PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU CHOOSE YOUR MOVERS. I hope this long review aids you in some way. I was initially excited to give this company 5 stars for the stellar service they provided me while packing out my 2 bedroom apartment sized shipment, and then meticulously packaging all my things to the point where several trips to the recycling center were in order when I received my shipment from San Diego, CA to Oak Harbor, WA. This would have ended as a 0 star experience had not the owner Ron communicated with me cordially. Here is my experience with Wright Way: Prior to Pack Out- Since my Navy Husband did not have the orders required for a military-funded family move, we had to find a moving company and pay out of pocket. My husband had already left for Washington so I did the move on my own. I was referred to Wright Way by a gentleman from another moving company in the San Diego area who has known the owner for a long time. He had said that Wright Way was the way to go price-wise for smaller shipments. I called them up and spoke to Santiago who, may I add, is very friendly and customer oriented. We set up a date and I received confirmation for the pack out a few days before. Pack Out (June 13th 2016)- I received a called about 30 minutes before they were set to arrive. I had packed most of my stuff in boxes and the guys who took everything out were friendly and accommodating. They were careful with my things and disassembled my desk, dining table, bed frame, etc. It was great service. My shipment of 3800 lbs cost me $2800 to travel up the coast. Great deal right? Yeah... Receiving Shipment- It came sooner than expected, which was about 2 weeks. It was ready for pick up by the third party carrier which was situated near Mt. Vernon, WA. It came so soon in fact, that I had to hold off drop off for a few days before we could find a hand to help with the curbside delivery. When the shipment came, the driver of the truck commented at how well packaged everything was, he said he'd never seen anything like it!!! I was extremely pleased how Wright Way packaged all our things. Of course, with all the cardboard and packing material it took forever to get rid of it all. That comes with great shipping. The only issue I noticed with the shipment was that of all my self-packed boxes, only one at the bottom of one of the pallets was crushed. It didn't strike me as odd since there was shrink wrap wrapped and supporting the 6-7 foot high pallet until later when I was unpacking... I found stuff missing.... $3100 retail value worth. The box that was smashed? Yeah, whoever the thieves were opened the box from the bottom so to seem inconspicuous. YES, The valuables were written on the box. YES, I know now never to do that again in a million years. We also lost items from a clear plastic drawer container. I talked to Ron many times trying to figure out how to remedy this problem for over a month. It was like I was going in circles with him in conversation. Because this small company uses 3rd party affiliates to help with the move, there is no way to find the culprit since my shipment went through many hands. Whether it happened in Wright Way's warehouse or not I just cannot prove (and they don't have security cameras). Furthermore, since I packed my valuable items they cannot prove the stuff I packed was actually there, making this all the more frustrating. If I lost my entire shipment through Wright Way, I would only ever get $380 with insurance. This is the moving industry. Here's my advice (since I didn't think about this til after I needed to): -Don't label things of Value on your boxes if self packing. Don't leave anything of value visible either. That means don't label at all, or purposely mislabel. Unless I wanted to sue and spend even more money to get back the worth of my stuff, we'd risk losing more $$ since the industry protects these companies. Which leads to.. -PAY to get your stuff packed for you if you can, so that everything is accounted for. If something gets stolen, it may get covered. Do not assume because Wright Way has a "good reputation" that your stuff is safe, because it's not. Ron told me himself other people had stuff stolen under them, and he doubted their complaints. The moving companies don't care, no matter how much they say they might. This move became a $5900 deficit. We bitterly cut our losses and moved on. Most of the items stolen were my husband's and he doesn't ever want to think about this again. I will say this about Wright Way: they do care more about their customers than most moving companies would ever. They did pay us $85 in damages (I had to call again 3 weeks later when no check came in the mail and remind them however... Hem) and although it is better than nothing it doesn't remedy a thing. My hope is that you are more informed to make the best decisions for your move, I don't wish what happened to us on anyone else. read more

I was referred to them by a competitor who suggested I speak with them because for the light load I was shipping they would be more cost effective. I was moving cross country from San Diego to New York and had about 22 boxes that needed shipped, including a triathlon bike, some fragile paintings and pictures, and golf clubs. Kim is the main person who I worked with at Wright Way and she's incredibly personable, friendly, and customer centric. They respond to you in a timely manner and the actual shipping was handled surprisingly fast and stress-free. I had only one item damaged and I'm working with them now to resolve it. I cannot sing high enough praises about how professionally and securely everything was packaged. The boxes were super heavy duty, closed with copper staples, reinforced on the outsides, and the contents of each box wrapped in blankets and plastic, then surrounded with extra cardboard and foam. A friend introduced me to Ron and I'm glad he did. He and his crew packed and shipped everything for a fair price. My goods arrived well wrapped on 2 pallets, on schedule, with everything intact. They did an amazing job packing things. Not one item was damaged or broken. It's true the goods you ship will most likely wind up in the hands of other carriers. Having mine wrapped and placed carefully on pallets was a far better option than me trying to pack them and then hauling them to UPS or FedEx, and much less expensive than having a conventional moving company handle them. I needed to move two dressers from my mom's place in San Diego to the Bay Area. Every mover I called was incredibly expensive so I was planning on renting a truck and moving the furniture myself. Then I found Wright Way on Craigslist. Their price was at least $200 less than the nearest-priced competitor so I booked their services. The furniture arrived in a week and was very well-packed and protected. The only downside was that the price I had been quoted was for curbside delivery, which was not made clear to me when I booked the move. I found that out when the furniture was picked up. Fortunately, the delivery guy volunteered to move the furniture up to my apartment as the friends who were going to help were unavailable. I was very impressed by how the furniture was packed. They are so responsive and give the very best service.
