We stopped in after a yoga festival across the way looking for some lunch. So this place is just a beer garden (and a super nice one at that) and the food is supposed to come from food trucks. Unfortunately the food truck was not operating at 1 pm, so we had a beer and played a round of bocce ball. Seems like a great place to hang out. Nice beer selection and not overpriced for New Orleans. We both had a localish craft IPA for $6 a pour. In the times before corona, you couldn't pay me to go here. Me and the usual scene here just don't mix. But, after a couple of drinks that made me care a little less, I took a friend up on the offer and I was glad I did. We were meeting friends there and they told us the table number before hand (had no idea yet why that was useful yet). When we got there, they asked us if we had a table number or if we were just getting there. Gave them the number and while he walked us over he explained the rules: 1. the servers come to you, don't go to the bar. 2. Any movement away from the table requires a mask. 3. Everyone is seated where they are for a reason; social distancing! so don't move tables. In addition to these guidelines, being outdoors made them a safe bet during covid. We were really impressed with the job they've done and we'll probably be back...though maybe not after covid. read more

Really love this place. The frose on tap is great. You can either order at the bar or if you're outside there is waiter service. If the bugs are biting, they have bug spray. If your phone is dying, they have outlets for you to charge it at the outside tables (and probably inside too, but I haven't checked to verify). There's a food truck for when you get hungry. A few weeks back a friend mentioned that she had gone in and that you all really had it together with how you were handling the COVID situation. She said it felt very safe, almost like a normal evening out. We've been really following the rules and haven't ventured out other than grocery shopping, so we were intrigued. We came by about two weeks ago and had a wonderful evening. It felt very safe. Staff was great. Drinks we great. Food was delicious. We stopped in again tonight for drinks and dinner. And it started out great again. Then we noticed the food runner had his mask down off his nose the entire time we were there. And several of the guests were walking around with no masks at all. As we were walking out, two guys were walking in and as soon as the got through the main entry they took their masks off. I know it hard to deal with ignorant customers in normal circumstances, but please don't let people like this ruin what you have going on. Not just for the sake of your customers who are thrilled to have somewhere safe to go, but for your staff who are no doubt thrilled to be working again. read more

Just what we needed! Lovely place with both indoor and outdoor seating, fire pits, corn hole, TVs and a great sound system. No kitchen, but they have a food truck! Good list of beers on tap, 4 frozen drink slushie machines, wine, and hard liquor too. Prices are reasonable for mid city too. So far the place has been busy and lively each time I come, but the bartenders are always attentive and super friendly no matter the crowd. Great place to relax and just kick back. A friend of mines recommended this spot to catch a Saints vs. Chiefs game. We arrived about 30 minutes before game time. They were already at capacity and starting to seat folks in their outdoor overflow section. Which was set-up comfortably, I'll give them that. My friend and I were able to snag a seat right near the TV. It was a decent size for the space. The waiter was on point, food and drinks were good + it's dog friendly! Came here to watch the Vanderpump Rules reunion and had a blast. We got there early to catch up on an episode we had missed and the manager was nice enough to turn the sound on for us before the actual event. We ordered chips and quest and then six tacos (two beef, two pork, and two chicken). Service was crazy fast and delicious. Very extensive selection of drinks; my favorite was the Spill the Tea cocktail (seemed appropriate for the occasion). The atmosphere was very young and a bit hipster. There was also an event to adopt dogs going on (the bar is dog friendly) so that was a bonus. The only thing I thought was weird was that the manager was adamant about now turning on subtitles. He didn't explain why, but considering deaf and other disabled people depend on subtitles, having subtitles on would be a way to be more inclusive. read more

Customer service was garbage. We were here at midnight on Thursday, 2 hours before the stated closing time on Google. A big rainstorm came in off the lake, so they decided to lock the doors on us and kick everybody out. There were at least 14 customers there at the time. The only reason we had any heads up to them closing is because the busboy said at 11:45 they'd be closing in "a little while" (only when we asked why he was taking our glasses away and giving us go cups). I asked what that means. Half an hour? 15 minutes? He said 15 minutes. They locked the doors in my face 5 minutes later. Didn't even get the chance to close my tab. I was gonna buy more drinks waiting out the storm! I asked if I could get another drink and they claimed they called last call half an hour earlier, even though we'd been there for over an hour and heard nothing. Every employee I asked about it tried to gaslight me about the nonexistent last call. At least they let me close out my tab so I didn't have to return to this horrid establishment tomorrow. Don't waste your time. They don't care about you. Edit: one of the bartenders threatened to fight us as we left. Very cool bar with fantastic outdoor space in the Greenway but the bouncer is horrific. I get it must be 22 to enter with valid ID but it can be left at that. I witnessed the bouncer belittle a woman for not having renewed her license yet when she was clearly well over the age of 21 and with someone who had met all the requirements. I 100% understand the laws but a simple sorry I can't take expired IDs and the business makes me card everyone would've sufficed rather than mocking her. Three of us thought let's try it out today, Saturday 1 o'clock in afternoon and sun had just come out. We sat around a fire pit for awhile till it actually got to warm and moved to a table. There are a ton of seating options. Covered patio, side patio has rocking chairs. Chairs around fire pits, picnic tables, small iron tables and chairs and then a ledge running around the property so you can stand and have a place to put a drink. It is very comfy and set up very nicely. The inside is large also and the bar is beautiful. I also used the bathroom and it was the bomb! There were two food trucks there and we got ourself a snack. Absolute rudest staff I have ever encountered. Showed up for a work function and immediately smelled smoke despite no smoking signs. When we went inside and was informed because I had my daughter with me we could not be there, not just the bar area which looks like any other bar or restaurant you might visit but in the entire establishment. The issue was not that I could not be there it was the sheer rudeness of the employee. I suggested they updated their Yep because no where does it say I can not go there with my family. He decided to very rudely tell me it's called Wrong Iron Bar...which is funny because no where have I seen it described as a bar, only a beer garden. One rude employee has ruined the entire establishment, I will NEVER go to Wrong Iron and am going tell everyone who will listen to go anywhere else. read more

The vibes here reminded me of Tchoup Yard before it's expansion, but with even better amenities. We came on a windy Sunday afternoon and had some absolutely delicious drinks, like frozen mojitos and spritzes, while enjoying the warmth of the sun coming into the courtyard filled with picnic tables, bar seating, and comfy patio chairs. The place was full of TVs with every NFL game on and so many puppies. I made special friends with an adorable French Bulldog while my fiancé took a nap. Yes, it was that relaxing there. They also have complimentary blankets and ice buckets at the entrance to keep yourself warm and your beers or your carafe if Rosè cold. I will definitely be coming back here often. read more

We have loved going to Wrong Iron since it is in such a great area along the bayou. However, our most recent experience at wrong iron was very disappointing. They have taken nearly every food item off of the menu and no longer include any shareable dishes. All of the other tables around us were also complaining about the same thing. One of our favorite things about coming here was the food, but this has definitely changed our opinions. it is likely that we will choose other bars in the future that have better food options to accommodate us. Other than the food issues, we loved the servers here. They are always so kind and working hard so that customers have the best experience possible. I did not want to like this spot because it remind me of a fraternity bar. Ahahaha. I was ve dth judgemental about this spot. I also didnt like the fact that there is so much parking spots available and for some odd reason they were all tooken up. So i had a hassle with parking. But ince i was abke to show my id and get in i understood completely why. This spot is really really great. Theres inside seating hiwever, outside is basically where the "FUN" is at. It was. It was a very hot day and in some cool way this spot had water mist fans blowing through the outside area and it felt soooo good. I went and got a frozen margarita which was so damn good and i sat in a chair and i just relaxed. Yes i was outside in the heat abke to relax. It sounds weird but it felt so good. I see why this spot stays packed. It's the coolest spot o be as far as talking about drinking. Theres a good bar, the bartenders tend to have a good handle on expediting customers and their drink orders. I didnt see food available from the actu bar but there was a food truck so im thinking that's the setup here. They allow dogs and their friendly environment always provides a great spot for hanging out. It gets crowded during the day but I recently went on a Wednesday night and it was pleasantly not packed. Locals, tourists, and foodies alike! This is the spot to go! Several of my classmates and I went on a drinkventure and explored different places to get drinks around the NOLA area, and this was our last stop that we've never been to. This place has their own lot for parking, a +1! We came at night, and already walking in, this place looked pretty spacious! It was full of lights, many tables, fire pits, a stage, food truck, and a small space to play games! During the night we went, it was fairly cold. We wanted to grab a spot by the firepits, but they were occupied at the moment and they only had about 2 fire pits I believe. However, all the tables had heaters above that kept was warm! The best part that made this place feel like home was that they offered blankets near the front for people to use, just as long as you bring them back. We ordered drinks inside and it was just a LONG bar table with wines/beers on taps forever! They really got whatever you're looking for, swear. The prices were very fair. They had a popcorn machine inside so that guests can help themselves for some free popcorn, and if you had a firepit, they also offered free smores as long as they still had some available. I don't think they serve food, but a foodtruck is available outside for guests to order and eat at the tables. This place is a wonderful spot for groups of all kinds to enjoy all kinds of drinks! The foodtruck, popcorn and smores will be enough to keep y'all busy as y'all drink up! We stayed there until closing and we really didn't want to leave! Definitely a fan of this place. I went on a Wednesday after work and it wasn't crowded, which is a beautiful thing. I love the strategically planted trees and the huge screens. The service was great. Love that they have a food truck on site. I tried the crawfish étoufeé fries, which were pretty good. My only complaint is that they weren't fresh. She handed them to me right after I ordered them, which means she just had fries sitting and ready to go. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that they have multiple frozen drink options. I tried the peach Bellini and the strawberry frosé. The peach Bellini was SO good. They pour champagne in the bottom of the glass then fill it up with the frozen mixture. Not too sweet and you can definitely taste the Champagne. The strawberry frosé was also good and a little tart, which I like. They also have a velvet cactus margarita and a Kentucky mule for frozen options. The other thing I love is the fact that they have so many different cocktails on tap. I was a bit skeptical at first but then I tried two of them and they were both super tasty. The margarita tasted like it was just mixed and the white sangria was strong and fruity and yummy. The blankets outside are definitely a plus. And I applaud the fact that they have a wheelchair lift. Accessibility is super important to me as I am a disability attorney and definitely take notice of the places around Nola that aren't accessible to individuals with disabilities. Hopefully the lift is easy to operate. I think the shining star has probably been mentioned throughout the reviews and if so, I'm just going to mention it again. Those restrooms are immaculate. I wanted to stay in there and drink. Super clean and beautifully crafted. They have hand sanitizer inside the stalls so that you can sanitize the toilet seat. I mean COME ON. They had a full sized mirror and a lighted mirror on the counter and both a hand sanitizer dispenser and hand lotion beside the sinks. Someone really paid attention and put some detail into this place. It's such a well thought out space. I definitely look forward to visiting more. read more

THE CUTEST BEER GARDEN I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!!! I am so glad my friends and I took the drive out of the French Quarter to visit Wrong Iron. It's so spacious, filled with a bar area, long table seating, lawn chairs, and I think they even have a private area you can rent for events. The ambiance was perfect - string lights, lawn chairs on grass, awesome music, AND THEY ALLOW DOGS! The bartenders were so friendly, and while the frozen cocktails sounded good, they didn't recommend it - we appreciated that tip! They have a large selection of drafts for all beer drinkers. We came on a Friday night, and while it looked super packed, we were easily able to find seating for our group. read more

Really awesome! This was my first visit after reading about it, and it did not disappoint. For starters, they have a huge beer selection on tap, mostly local brews but some national ones as well. The place was PACKED (stupid me thinking no one would be out on the day before the National Championship game) but it never felt crowded, mostly due to the gigantic patio, complete with two fire pits. It took a little while to get a drink, but again, there were tons of people there. It never felt like a huge wait. They have put a great deal of time and thought into the layout of the place. Two small things to know about. First, there is a $10 minimum on credit cards. Second, they scan your ID at the door, which I thought was a little strange but when you consider the neighborhood feel of the place, makes sense that they wouldn't want kids sneaking in. This is a huge, beautiful bar/beer garden that is similar to Tchoup Yard or maybe Bayou Beer Garden but bigger and a bit less intimate. The main space is outside, filled with long and short picnic style tables and a few high tops. I believe there were a few lawn chairs and outdoor games on the side. There are TVs visible from all angles, plenty of fans to keep you cool, and a food truck or 2 in case you get hungry. Inside is a long bar with a few tables and a popcorn machine in case you'd rather get some free munchies. The bathrooms are very clean and stylishly decorated - having hand sanitizer and hand lotion was a nice touch. I enjoyed the beer selection and didn't try any frozen cocktails but thought that having them was a fun touch. I also enjoyed a cubano from the Fete au Fete food truck outside. I noticed that an outdoor grill/kitchen of some sorts is in the works; that will be a nice update for the future! I noticed a few dogs but not many children, though I definitely consider this place family friendly. My only 2 complaints would be (1) the bouncer and (2) the lack of circulating servers outside. The bouncer scanned my driver's license, noted that it was my first time there, and proceeded to ask for a 2nd form of ID/something with my name on it. I'm not sure if this policy is because I look young (actually 25 years old) or because the bar is new, but I've heard numerous complaints about this from various friends who have been here before me. I am glad I had my entire wallet with me instead of just my license. As for the servers, I feel like I did see 1 or 2 come by during my 3ish hour stay, but I ended up going inside to the bar to get new drinks each time. I know people have complained about the parking situation, but I found a spot by the CrossFit gym a block or so away since the lot was full. Didn't get a ticket or towed. read more

I read in the paper about Wrong Iron opening up on the Greenway. Before I planned my going away gathering for this spot, I wanted to see what it was like. I went by the week before just to check it out. I found an open seat by the fire pit and sipped 4 beers from a flight, while my dog and I chatted with other folks enjoying happy hour. The place wasn't too busy. It has a wide open beer garden with a chill vibe and lots of tv's and picnic tables. A classy, yet cozy, long indoor bar serving beer, wine, cocktails and frozen daiquiris. A food truck in the yard. A stage for live music. I was sold. On the night of my event, things changed a bit. There was plentiful free parking when I got there around 545, but filled up quickly as the night went on. It was cold so both fire pits were occupied. I grabbed a thoughtfully provided blanket from the patio deck, and staked a claim to a nearby table. Once my party arrived, we pounced as chairs around the flames freed up. There were about 12 of us so while some of us were playing corn hole or getting drinks, the others were soaking up the warmth. Happy hour is Monday through Friday from 3-7. Doubles for the price of singles on mixed drinks, 9oz wine for the price of 6oz, $1 off beer pints. Not bad. The bar was slammed this time, and the noise level was super loud inside, so getting there early is best. We made do, BUT there was no food truck like I had promised. The first visit I tried this amazing grilled cheese. I really wanted to taste it again! Then as we were about to go find somewhere else to eat, or call for uber eats to deliver which is apparently fine, a Dat Dog truck pulled in. The night was saved! Was happy to see this outdoor bar on the Greenway. Its was packed with people and their dogs. All seemed to be having a good time. Ordered food from the food truck there, Fete au Fete. It was okay. Got a couple of margaritas at the bar. Our timing was good as the crowd was beginning to thin. Margaritas were okay. Liked the lights strung through the trees and the rustic tables and benches, the chairs around the fire pits (not lit on a warm night). I get tired of screens and usually opt for places with out them. Also the music was loud and unimaginative CCR etc. Would hope a place trying to be hip could play better stuff. I was going to give this place a better rating until I had a terrible, condescending experience with a bartender. Let's start off with what's good here. The drinks on tap are actually pretty strong and good. Wine is okay. The outdoor area is good but to be honest, if you're in the area you might as well go to Bayou wine/beer garden. I had the Kentucky side car which was great. And the three pears Pinot which I didn't like. The crowed is a bit older and what young crowd there is it fratty. Not my favorite crowd but to each his own. The bartenders need some serious training. First, they weren't very clear about whether they kept the cards or gave them back. After waiting a bit we ended up walking away assuming they kept the card. When my boyfriend tried to close out, they told him they didn't keep Cards and I'd have to come with my ID to get my card back. I came and ordered another drink and asked to get my Card. The bartender freaked out, rolled his eyes and yelled back at me "never leave your card at a bar!" Like, okay didn't need a lecture but maybe be more clear about your policy? He got my card out of a box of nearly 50-100 Cards. Gave it to me and said, extremely condescendingly "congrats! You're one of the lucky ones." It's was condensing and humiliating in front of so many people and 100% unnecessary. When we left the bar, my boyfriend told me he didn't want to go to that bartender because before I went to the bar he freaked out and yelled at everyone that he was no longer taking orders because there were too many people and it was stressing him out. I know bartending is stressful. But there definitely needs to be more training on hospitality and professionalism. Super cool spot in mid-city and well worth a visit. Located right along the Lafitte Greenway, it's a perfect spot to stop off after a walk or a bike ride. This place has a wonderful, laid back atmosphere. They boast an EXTENSIVE beer list, among other offerings. There's tons of seating, dog-friendly outdoor area (complete with water bowls for your best bud!) and a rotating selection of food trucks that you can see ahead of time on their website. I got the Chandeleur raspberry ginger sour that was on their rotating draft list, and also grabbed a taco from one of the two food trucks that was stationed outside (immediately next to the outdoor seating area). The beer was delicious! The tacos left something to be desired, but you can't judge the space by its food trucks, haha. The place does NOT appear to be kid friendly at all, like some of the breweries and the like in town. That's possibly the only thing that could throw a wrench in your plans.
