I couldn't wait to try this restaurant! When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked in and was sat by the hostess. The place was a cute spot. Rae was my server and she was very nice! I started with the black cod with noodles, and while there were many different ingredients in the broth, it was pretty tasty! I then had the Squirrel Fish Red Snapper, and that was very delicious! It was nice and crisp. Lastly, I had dessert of the fried bread, which I enjoyed with the condensed milk dip! I had a really good experience all in all! read more

Looking to try out the newest fish restaurant in town, I headed over to the Hmart plaza where the parking wasn't as bad as always since it was a weekday. Wu's Fish House has some weekday specials from Tuesday through Thursday, so looking for some more non-typical fish options, we ordered the stewed grass carp that was 50% off on Tuesday. The stewed fish came with 3 spice levels of no spice, mild spice, and spicy, bur note that the leaser the spice flavor, the heavier the chinese sauerkraut flavor. They also gave us the option to have less oil and less salt, which I highly recommend as it was plenty salty and oily with the lesser version. Inside the stew, I was a bit disappointed to find no noodles, but there was tofu skin, enoki mushroom, and radish as well as the variosu garnish. The grass carp truly had a unique crisp texture which I truly enjoyed. As we also got the branzino noodle soup (which they worned it was super light in flavor, and ended up tasting almost flavorless), mixing the branzino's noodles with the stew of the grass carp was the perfect combination. Other dishes we ordered was the scallion oil noodles and the crispy chicken pieces. The scallion oil noodles were amazing, showcasing a strong umami flavor and large portion size for merely $6.25. The cripsy chicken was nice and crunchy with a large chunk of meat, but lacked flavor without the accompanied thai chili sauce. Note that the restaurant space is actually shared between 2 restaurants, separated by the kitchen itself (this restaurant specializes in fish, the other in crab). Overall, this is a fresh fish restaurant just lacking a bit in perfecting its flavors. read more

Hubs had been wanting to give this place a try after seeing it on social media. We came here for an early dinner and got seated immediately. The restaurant is big and follows an almost-monochromatic color scheme, with the walls, tables, and floors being dark gray. The only items that aren't gray are the cream-colored leather chairs, the white "cubbies" in the drink-making station nearby, and the bright green synthetic plants that wrap around and dangle from the black rafters. Elegant black lamps also hang from the rafters and paintings adorn the heavily-windowed walls. We ordered the following: Squirrel-shaped fish with sweet and sour sauce. We got this with branzino. Hubs wanted this fish after seeing it on social media and loved it. He wasn't disappointed with it all. Small black cod fish in spicy and sour fish soup. We like black cod and this was delicious. Daughter ordered the pangasius fish noodle soup- there were a lot of fish in this soup. We thought it was going to be just a few pieces. They were generous with it! Daughter liked it a lot and thought the fish was nice and soft. You get a cash discount if you pay in cash. We knew this when the server asked us if we were paying in cash. The food is very good. The squirrel fish, which is the style not the name of the fish, which was actually a sea bass, was very well executed. The main event was the fish soup. We chose black cod, a rich and oily fish. The pickled vegetables in the broth balanced the fish beautifully. So why is this 4 stars? Well, the wait staff struggle under a confusing system. You can't get the dumplings and appetizers from the crab side. If you had to, why not just open a new check for the crab side? Also, they need more vegetable selections and more appetizers. Very confusing. The decor is modern and it's quite casual. It's on the second floor but it's right next to the elevator, so don't worry. Prices are very good for the quality of ingredients and technique. The menu and how things work are confusing. If you like fish, it's a must try! read more
