Stopped for an early dinner last night. Parking is vast. We were greeted and sat down immediately. Drinks were ordered and brought over almost immediately. Place looked clean and plenty of space between tables, which I personally liked. We ordered three separate rolls and Edimame. Edimame was not hot. Rolls took too long to bring out. If there was one miss it was that. Customers should not wait over 30 mins for their food at a sushi restaurant. Food was pretty amazing. Flavor, freshness was really good. It had a mustardy/vinegar taste I wasn't expecting for "garlic" edamame. It wasn't overpowering, just not what I had in mind. Service was great--our waiter was super attentive. I'll admit, I never tried this place till the other day BECAUSE they replaced Kyoto Sushi which was our go to and I was really bummed. But! I am glad that we finally tried it. We went right around 6 pm on a weekday, only a few people at the bar and shortly after, a very loud party of three showed up. They were beyond obnoxious and killed the vibe a bit but whatever about that. Our waitress, Shaylynn M., was super sweet and took our orders immediately. I went for the watermelon margarita which I didn't realize was a wine base and I didn't like it very much BUT I love the amount of chamoy on the rim and it wasn't just melting off the glass so that was a plus. It also came with a Mexican watermelon lollipop which is my absolute favorite! My bf got the beef teriyaki bowl, my mom the chicken teriyaki bowl, and I went for yellowtail sushi and the baked salmon roll along with some tempura to share. Now I will say, I LOVE ponzu but was very surprised that my yellowtail sushi had ponzu? It was a good amount of it too so it was very overwhelming and made the rice soggy and fall apart very easily. I was a bit bummed at how much they put. A little bit would've been fine but it was still edible I guess. Tempura was great and my baked salmon roll was delicious. I like that the rolls are small and bite size. Some places make them way too big and it's just too much. We wanted to get the bread pudding for dessert but the waitress told us that it would be a 40 minute wait. Like are they baking it from scratch? Very odd. We went with the churros and ice cream instead and it was perfect. Always such a great little dessert no matter where you are. Our waitress even opened the door for us on the way out! I was ecstatic to note that xevichez opened up near our home. We've been to the Sylmar location a couple of times and were really impressed with the quality of rolls. What I truly appreciate is their novel, infused options and latine twist. Happy hour is always my go to since we get to try different items and drinks at a fraction of the price. ;) The food is bomb and place stays vibing. I love the multiple TVs with music videos from the good old days playing in the background. Feels very nostalgic. The staff is attentive and welcoming which is extremely important in any establishment. This location has plenty of parking and lot is very open to navigate around. No worries getting in and out of this spot. If you're craving novel, exotic sushi options...pass by and give them a try. :D read more

They are shady and trash! 1st strike- I once got a hair on my food and they quickly replaced my roll, accidents happen, so I kept coming back. 2nd strike- I ordered off the happy hour menu QR code they had on their tables (and website) once it came time to pay the waitress said she forgot to tell us they changed the menu and all out food was now regular price (should be fraud!) 3rd strike- yesterday as we were leaving the sushi chef yells across the restaurant "so you guys are leaving without paying" we replied that we already paid and the waitress shook her head in agreement. It was very embarrassing and classless' such an ignorant man. I should've taken back my 25% tip. I don't know why but that's a very comfortable sushi spot and it's kinda casual too. I like it. It's not casual like a fast food spot, it feels like a real sushi experience. It costs about average for sushi. The fish was fresh tonight. The young man who was our server accommodated me and my daughter and was cool about it all. I had an allergy request and he took care of me, and didn't make me feel like a Karen. We had just left another establishment after finding out the other place used gluten in everything, the other place wasn't even going to try to use alternatives they may have had on hand and help me have dinner. I am guessing it is best to walk into this restaurant than to order deliver. I ordered this deliver through grub hub. Never have I ordered from a Sushi place and have to ask for them to include sauces. I recieved my order my order with absoulutely no sauces, napkins, or utensils in the bag. The rice was hard a little stale and falling apart on all rolls. Also i ordered some wraps that were not complety wrapped around so when it was picked up you needed a fork to eat it. I called Xevichez and the person that answered was full of excuses and even laughing at what I was saying. It was very insulting. Last time I am ever ordering from this place, food is to expensive these days to get this kind of service. I am happy grubhub is an outstanding company that took care of me.
