If you need a phone in a hurry... don't go to Xfinity. I ended up at the store in Chicago on Clarendon just to sign up for internet service because I saw an add online for $50/month. So he says it's $85 a month unless I bundle services, then it's $50 for both which seemed great but a little bazaar to me. I was planning to go from there to Verizon because my phone was on the fritz and I needed a new one right away. I'd been with Verizon for more than 30 years and was just planning to stay with them for the phone, but I couldn't pass up a deal like that, I'd be saving $60 a month! However, unlike other phone service providers you can't get a new phone the same day! It takes up to 48 hours to get approval!. In my case, I had forgotten that I had a freeze on my credit due to prior identity theft, so 2 days later, with great difficulty, due to no phone service, I was able to lift the freeze on all three reporting agencies. But they can't check your credit on the spot. You get a response within 48 hours from the time the freeze was lifted! Imagine working from home with 2 days of spotty service and 2 additional days of no service!... and no explanation for why! My credit score hovers around 800! And sorry if Noble Square is any better, but when I called Xfinity's customer service line to see if there was anything they could do to help, she said she could help me with that but starting quoting me different, much higher prices! And all I wanted was for her to call the store and tell them I was approved. I thought surely if I just went to a different store there might be someone who had more knowledge of the system then either the previous store or the customer service person on the phone. So I went to the store in Evanston hoping to speak to a manger, but it was the same thing. Snotty kids that are eager to make a sale, but have no idea how to work with customers. This process started on Monday. It's Friday and I still don't have a phone! After interactions with three different representatives of this company I can only conclude that their employees who have difficulty communicating how their plans work and are untrained in the art of customer service therefore the entire company sucks! When I told them that if I walked into Verizon or T-Mobile I would walk out of the store with a phone in my hand the same day. Get this! Their answer was "We're not T-Mobile or Verizon"!!!... In a snotty tone of course. I left in tears! Based on the low ratings I'm seeing on this site, maybe they could learn a lesson from both of those companies about superior customer service. read more

I came here to help my daughter to pay for her Internet early termination fee. For whatever reason, she cannot access her account online so I came here in person. They have a bigger parking lot, so it's easy to find and park. I went and talked to the receptionist guy at the door, he registered me, then say an agent will come to get me. I waited for about five minutes so I've been called. What I trying to do show me to the machine in the store. so you can actually pay the fees on the machine by yourself. I just don't understand why the receptionist do not tell me that. Anyway the service is great. Although my daughter is experience with them is not very good. Forced to use Xfinity by the apartment building I lived in, now I live somewhere else and thankfully I can use a different provider. As I type this I have waited for 60 minutes just to drop their equipment off, apparently you have to wait for a representative to speak to you to do that. The lobby is packed. 3 people are being helped at a time but each person seems to need 30 minutes of help each. So happy to be done with Xfinity Comcast after this but good god are they keeping their claws in me as long as possible. If you're planning on coming in to just "easily" drop off your equipment, be sure to plan for at least an hour. Maybe two. Bring a snack and movie. read more

I have to say I have never seen a company screw up bills the way Xfinity can. They keep charging me for a phone. I never authorized and I've never used. They have on record my conversations with their "" Staff, but it doesn't matter. I need to check to see if I have a contract because I want out of Xfinity completely their service. Xfinity is a terrible service. I did not have a good coverage in my house. But a main reason I left Xfinity is hidden prices and paid services. I always had a problems with my bills. 1 I bought the tablet because you said I had to pay only half of the price. But I paid more than the full price. I said that I need a tablet only for the internet but you added it for additional line. 2 you said if I connect 2 more lines I will receive GOOGLE PIXEL phone for free. But I was paying for it $25/month. I didn't know about that 3 when I buy something or connect something in the Xfinity center you don't explain nothing. You see that I speak English not perfect and you try to take advantage of this. 4 you connected to my account NOW TV, without my permission. I never asked for this. I had an appointment scheduled per their COVID requirement and I am still standing in line along with about half a dozen other people. The line keeps getting longer. It's not moving. I am just glad it's not raining. Since apparently everyone is arriving at the same time, my guess is that they schedule the appointments all at the same time and just let people wait. I have been having major issues with my cable box. After speaking with several Comcast Rep. I was finally told that I had to get a replacement cord at one of the XFINITY Stores. Thank Goodness that the hours fitted my schedule to pick up this cord. I know going to any XFINITY Store on a Saturday will be Crazy Busy. This location is easy to find with a bright red clear sign XFINITY on top of the building. It has a nice size parking lot to accommodate their customers. When I walked through the doors I was instantly greeted and waited on by a nice gentlemen. I told him what I was there for and handed him my cord. He smiled politely and told me that he had to walk to the back to get me a replacement cord. It didn't take long and he was back with a brand new cable cord. Very polite and friendly customer service. Unfortunately, when I got home and plugged the cord into the cable box. I'm still having the same issue with my Cable. It's sad that we spend so much money on cable service and it has poor equipment systems. read more

First of all, let me say this: not a fan of Xfinity in general. They have an unfair monopoly and way too much control of their industry. But there's very little I can do about that. That being said, I hate how bad Xfinity's customer service ON THE PHONE has become. Worse that worthless. I've wasted over 50 hours in the last couple years with their tech support. WORSE THAN EVER. HOWEVER: I must say that this location's Xfinity (and, admittedly, the ones in Niles and near Belmont and Ashland Avenues) are very good. The staff is personable and work well as a team. I recommend going to this location: near the highway, plenty of parking, very nice atmosphere. Many years ago I dreaded going to any location but I definitely feel differently now. I give a lot of credit to the training and selection of personnel. I feel welcome when I come there, and I get my equipment exchanges or other customer service done quickly and properly. read more

Couldn't connect ATT w my building: ( They charged me the first month for cable and phone, which I don't have or use. So 211$ for the first month, just for internet. What a joke. I made the mistake of almost switching to Xfinity because RCN's way of thanking me for 5 years of being a loyal customer was to raise my bill 30% every year until it reached retail value...I shit you not. But, they did reach out and make it right. I booked new service through xfinity, and the robot (who was actually a human) but it was hard to tell the difference was awful to work with. I then cancelled my service before anything was hooked up, and it took them over a month to give me my money back. But the people that work for here, the dispatchers, The people that come install the internet are all unprofessional. They gave me 2 blocks of time to come and install it and didn't come. This company has horrible customer service and the only reason people still get this company is because there isn't much competition out there but if there was this company would be bankrupt with how unprofessional it is and how they don't take care of their mistakes. Comcast in general...they lie just for a buck. So. Thought I'd join the GREAT deal at Xfinity Mobile. Was cheap. Catch? And I quote, "SIR, YOU CAN ONLY HAVE XFINITY MOBILE SERVICE IF YOU HAVE WIFI OR CABLE AT HOME". I need my phone for work. So, I had cable/WiFi for 8 months. I work part time, it was a lot to pay. BUT, as I heard on multiple occasions, NEED TO HAVE SERVICES AT HOME IF YOU WANT XFINITY MOBILE. Finally, had to just call it quits with cable. Guess what? IT WAS OK TO HAVE MY PHONE WITHOUT SERVICES AT HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! $#%%&@!!!!! Then, with just a phone, Xfinity told me since I don't have services at home and only have wireless service, I CAN'T UPGRADE MY PHONE OR MAKE ANY CHANGES. Makes me think I'm in 3rd grade and I'm being punished. KISS IT XFINITY. KISS IT REAL GOOD! I ALSO WAS TOLD I COULD PAY MY LEFTOVER CABLE BILL OVER 6 MONTHS. NOT TRUE. I stopped in yesterday at about 6 pm to return some extra equipment I had from my recent installation. My experience couldn't have been better. I was quickly greeted by a lovely associate at the front door and she checked me in and too the equipment off my hands. She said it would be just a moment and someone would be right with me. As I was waiting I noticed that the X1 romper for the waiting area TV had a minion "wrap" on it. Little did I know as I was gawking and geeking out over how cute the remote was the gentleman sitting next to me was an employee. He promptly got up and went to see if they had any more. Unfortunately, they did not. BUT they did have Cubs remote wraps left, these are really neat too! Just a few minutes later I was called over and was able to complete the return of my extra equipment in under 2 minutes and this associate even double checked my account to make sure I was no longer being charged for the equipment. On my way out I was wished a good evening by the employees. This was a great experience and the level of customer service I know Comcast is committed to and strives for! I waited for over an hour when all I had to do was return a router for an apartment I moved out of. While a ton of people are waiting one employees was trying to help a woman for at least 30 minutes because he kept getting the wrong item from the back and having to go try another, and another, and another. All while laughing and dilly dallying around. Inconsiderate and unknowledgeable employees have been part of my experience every time I've had to go here in Chicago. Good luck. I was there to pick up an extra box for my current service. I've had comcast for almost 10yrs and I rarely have problems and when I do they have taken care of them. For my last particular visit here as soon as you walked in there is someone taking your name and the reason for your visit so they can sign you in. I probably waited for 15/20 mins before they called me and the sales rep that helped me was very professional and quick. He did try to ask if I was happy with my channel lineup and all that but I was to the point. There were a lot of mean faces waiting around but I have no clue what their particular situation was. BAD experience...I worked with the Comcast representative affiliated with my building management company (Kass) to set up Internet in my apartment. I moved in to the apartment on 3/28/2020 and picked up the cable box from the 1255 W North Ave Comcast store the same day. I was planning to set up the box myself but found it was impossible because there was no phone jack in my new apartment. I later learned that this apartment had been newly renovated, and they covered the phone jack in the renovation. Despite calling the Xfinity-Kass representative several times and being assured that I was on the schedule for a technician to come out, a technician never showed up. I needed them to run the lines outside of the building for my private WiFi network to be connected. This became very important during the pandemic because I was forced to work from home. Despite not receiving the high speed WiFi I had signed up for, Comcast continued billing my account. I made two minimum payments to keep my access to the Xfinity public WiFi network active, $29.49 on 5/19/20 and $57.55 on 6/26/20. My access to the public network was shut off again at the end of July. The minimum payment was now up to $117. I talked to corporate level customer service to resolve the issue. I explained the situation and that I was not going to pay $117 for a service I was not being provided. They ultimately told me they would send out a technician to set up the WiFi only AFTER I made the $117 payment. I asked to speak to a manager but was denied that as well. Ultimately, I refused to pay the $117. I was promised a technician would come out on multiple occasions by the Comcast-Kass representative and no one did. I was not going to exchange $117 for a promise that would not be kept. Currently, I am using my personal hotspot to connect to the Internet to do my job. This will only work for so long. And I am not going to continue making payments for erroneous charges based on mistakes made by the company. I expected more from Comcast. read more

Comcast deservedly gets a lot of bad wrap. Their website is slow and poorly defined, their various options and tiers are deliberately confused. Their online chat from a call center in India is awful but if you want something sorted come here. It's brilliant. Crystal sorted everything for me with humor, knowledge and a smile. I had to wait 15 minutes, but that's fair, and it was worth the wait. She gave me deals, explained everything, didn't seem to be a corporate bot but a person who wanted and could help. She was well trained, well informed and just lovely. I left feeling great and with all my issues resolved. If you can go here and whatever time it takes is infinitely better that sitting in a line on the phone or wrestling with an appalling website. read more
