Very disappointed with Comcast! I have been a customer for fifteen years paying over $115.00 a month. They used to comp me HBO and Starz for not leaving them and going to another more affordable company here in San Francisco. Recently, I phoned them and had a very sharp comment of, "this is the last time we are going to do this and HBO will not be available." Due to Game of Thrones coming back they are now forcing you to buy it. This just stinks. Our DVR has started doing this weird thing where it gets stuck at the end of shows, sometimes you have to turn the box off and start over again, it's annoying. Also, there doesn't seem to be a way to prioritize your shows so that if more than two things are on at the same time you can pick the two that you really want. User error? Possibly. We have our internet service though them too and that is also hit and miss. Great when it works, but sometimes it mysteriously stops working and getting it to work again is a pain in the ass. Of course, with out Comcast we'd have no tv and no internet at my house, and that would be a sad thing indeed. read more

And then my man hooked up the cable from the main tv to my tv. I am not ashamed to say this is fabu because now I can get addicted to things like the Tour de France and World Cup. I can also get addicted to Hustle on A&E and wonder why the hell there are no SMART Asians on Cash Cab on the Discovery Channel. Come on, you know what I'm talking about. Lots of channels, but pricey and seriously poor service. The user interface is incredibly badly designed and awkward to navigate. Despite my repeatedly setting MyDVR to record a particular show at a particular time from a channel I receive, it keeps trying to record it at a different time from a channel I don't receive, so I end up with an audio-only blank-screen version of the show. In addition, service is frequently unavailable for no apparent reason. Spending time on the phone and navigating the automated menu to get a reset signal sent to the box works about 1/3 of the time, and otherwise you're left on hold for ages before talking to a customer service rep and having to schedule someone to come look at the setup. When it was first installed, the guy was about 4 hours late - I actually got a call asking how my set up went BEFORE the guy even arrived! - and so I don't look forward to their similarly unreliable fix it visits. I'm thinking of ditching Comcast and and using Hulu and Netflix instead. I wish I could give Comcast less than one star. read more

Yeah... nothing nice to really say... the line moved at a decent pace. It only took me 35mins this time with only 3 people in front of me. I would recommend getting there right when they open to avoid waiting forever and taking up your lunch time if you're working. The employees can't be blamed too much because Comcast has tricks up their sleeves when running a company and they force their employees to regulate. the guy behind the counter told me specifically "that's how we get you to return your box" when I was going to be charged close to $100 if I didn't return it when Comcast dropped it off to me in the first place. I have had Comcast internet for awhile and because of the pricing offers, we decided to go for the bundled group which included cable tv. I love the comcast on demand! I have been using it to see movies, and shows I've missed, as well as the educational ones. I would like to see more network shows added to the availability just do to my schedule. Since I have signed up, I have been having multiple problems with my internet service, which i never had before, so that's been annoying. For example, I'm listening to a French radio station and it keeps cutting the transmission every couple of minutes. WTF is that? It makes me think that they made assumptions about their service capabilities without thoroughly testing them before moving ahead. read more

What's the diference between Comcast and the Pine Street Post office? It's not a riddle, seriously. It's the Pine Street Post Office on Potrero. Most of the time, I have internet and computer service. Every now and then it'll die and I'll have to reboot everything, including the dvr and then it'll be ok again. You know, I expect these things occasionally. It happens. They're electronics, I live in an old building. But I have been unfortunate enough to have to visit the Potrero Street Comcast office TWICE since the new year. The first time was to exchange our remote, which died. That was sad. There was a ridiculously long line - fortunately I was able to circumvent the line since I just needed a remote. Unfortunately, I was stuck behind a family who didn't speak English very well and had lots of questions about their new cable. Someone said the line was so long because it was the Saturday before the Superbowl. Ok, I understand that. Today I visited again. I was surprised at how long the line was. Once I got in the line I was surprised at how slowly it moved. I started counting reps. 2. 2 reps, one dedicated to the disabled line. Even though there were two other people sitting at the computers not helping people. Somone else showed up and eventually started taking customers. Still, every transaction was agonizingly slow - and then apparently they have to spend 5 minutes reading their email, er, updating the system after each customer. THEN it was my turn. 30 minutes later. On a Tuesday afternoon - you wouldn't think it would be that busy, would you? I want some HDMI cables please. We don't have HDMI cables. Now, this is weird because I called Comcast on two different occasions and they told me I could get free HDMI cables by going into the Potrero Hill location. This is the only location in SF, by the way, and it smells like it. So I pitched a minor fit and got some component cables, which are most definitely NOT HDMI cables, but will do for now. But man, I'm pissed. I called on the phone! TWICE! They can't mail them - heaven forbid. They have to subject their customers to their shitty face to face customer service - and it wouldn't even be that bad if they had a few more reps out there. Just get things moving. I went in with low expectations and a broken cable remote. I waited in line for 10 minutes. Most of the people in line were waiting to pay their bill and returning the hardware. When it was my turn, all I said was my remote stopped working, of 10 years may I add, the employee handed me a new one. That was it! I even brought in my old box. I think I was just lucky compared to other reviewers. I'm sorry they had to wait over 30 minutes in line. I feel like they knew what they were doing but it just takes some time to process things. Okay, this is redundant, but seriously, I hate these guys. I only have them b/c of limited other options in the city for tv/internet. Their customer service people have to be the most incompetent people on Earth--yes I have a flare for hyperbole, but this is no exaggeration. It doesn't seem to matter whether they are local or outsourced employees--nobody on staff knows anything that is helpful. I average being transferred about 5-6 times per phone call. In this latest incident, I had my wallet stolen and changed my automatic payment information online. The message online told me the changes would take place immediately, but then I received an email saying it would be 30-45 days. All I needed to know was which credit card was being charged, the old invalid card OR the new active card. This was only to ensure they got their $ on time. Yet, even when you're trying to give them money, they seem to be incabable of tasks which have a level of difficulty of tying their own shoes. Eventually, I just gave up. If they charge me a late fee, I see hours of pleasant phone conversation in our future. Blech. read more

I upgraded them 1 star because I got through right away today. The last time I called I was on hold for over 35 minutes before I hung up but that was Sunday around 9pm. Today was about 1:30pm on a Tuesday but I also pressed the button saying I was an existing customer who wanted to upgrade their service. It was probably more about the time of day. Anyway, after navigating through their automated menu a bit, I got a live person who tried to up-sell as much as she could. It's no wonder the wait times are really long. I knew what I wanted after visiting their website and I knew all the promotions. She acted like she didn't know the promotions and only offered them at full price until I asked her about the promotion. Then she tried to get me to go with the more expensive package. I said 'I looked it up and know what I want' and then she tried to get me to switch telephone and internet. She said she could match what I'm paying for phone and internet "but it's better because I know you're not getting high-speed internet at that price." No beyotch. I pay that much for my DSL so why would I switch (from Sonic, best company for high-speed internet ever!). Anyway, it'll be another 4 days for them to install and they wouldn't give me a promo on the install so it's $30 on top of that. I'm switching from DirecTV since I can't get HD (and they wouldn't give me a price break even though new customers are paying $21/ month less for 12 months--I've been a customer for 4 years). I can switch back as a 'new customer' later but I really think these companies should try to retain their existing customers.... read more

I pay $70 a month for 50Mbit speeds and it runs flawlessly. Haven't had an outage in months. When there were outages, which I've had 3 in the last year, they were at 3AM or some time late at night. I bought a modem off Amazon before I got Comcast, and didn't have to pay the month fee for their modem. It payed for itself within 10 months. Not having a hardware lease is a huge plus, and I can use the modem for other ISPs if they become available. read more

First, this place is open on a Saturday like retail stores should be. I had to come to this location because the Pacifica location was closed on a sunny Saturday afternoon. There was someone to help customers check in to the line system at the front, which was helpful. There were many reps working so the wait was not terrible. I think we waited only about 5 minutes until our name was called. The rep was quite polite and helpful and the total at counter experience was about 5 minutes for 2 total transactions. Hector has poor customer service skills when asked questions he got frustrated and didn't want to deal with it you're in a customer service field should learn to be more customer-friendly not an a****** or jerk and not especially to get loud at a customer, understand a customer somewhat going off but for a customer service rep totally unacceptable. We pay for your service and we expect to get the service that is paid for but when you Hector act out and treat the customer like crap is totally unacceptable. So I dumped this lying trash company about a year ago. When I dumped them they told me someone would be out in a day or two to disconnect the cable. I got Dish so I didn't care what they did. Two weeks later my buzzer rings and its Comacast coming to disconnect my service because I hadn't paid my bill. After I cancelled them they called me every week for a month offering me some deal that was not actually a deal. Now my folks are going through some convoluted shit with them over digital converter boxes. They are now paying more...three times more and can't get their tv's to work. Comcast YOU SUCK! My service has been intermittently slow or non-existent. My HD channels break up all the time. The box sometimes doesn't respond and stores up multiple commands that it executes all at once minutes later. Plus, it is super expensive. I could get satellite and DSL for much less money. Customer service has improved in a big-big way. I had to have a box replaced. I was surprised they did a 2 hour window when waiting 4 hours was the norm. I was called 30 minutes before they arrived to make sure the time was still good and the tech arrived on time. In and out in 10 minutes with the box ready to go. So Comcast itself as a corporation and provider is can be extremely annoying and frustrating to deal with. However, this review is for a specific technician that came by to fix some issues in our building that seemed to be pretty much building wide. I can't recall his ID number or his last name but his first name was Ali. He was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Although my appointment with a technician wasn't until tomorrow and he had a busy day, he came in after completing work on our neighbors problems. Ali first came by to explain what the problems in our building were, then volunteered to come in and take a quick look at our issues, and then proceeded to fix everything! He did it extremely quickly in the 15 minutes before he had to go to his next appointment. He was warm, helpful, courteous and clearly explained the issues we were having. Left Xfinity mobile after 1 year. Had 2 big issues. 1st issue arose in week 1. Ordered a Samsung Galaxy s8+. Got an LG at my doorstep. Called and service reps were unable to help. Had to go into a store and have the manager of the location call to try and get issue resolved. Took 2 weeks to get the right phone to me and then 3 months of me calling almost every week to get the mistake phone taken off my account. 2nd issue was getting a new note 9. Phone was obtained in a store. Within 5 mins of owning it, the volume button stopped working. I didn't even leave the store and they would not/could not replace it. Had to be shipped to me and defective phone shipped out. Decided to leave for Verizon at that point. I realize the entire mess if my fault for even attempting to use Comcast as a cell service. Save yourself a lot of time and stress and sign up with an actual carrier. read more

It didn't look good, what with the Comcast "online help tech" guy telling me my apartment didn't exist in my building. So I had to go to the Potrero office, which I wasn't expecting to be any kind of fun. The line was about 10 minutes long, but after reaching the counter I was golden. Helpful counter person had no problems signing me up, gave me all new equipment, and promised I'd be up and running by the time I got home (even after the internet told me I'd have to wait over 10 days). I bused back up a hill, plugged some things in, and there was broadband and HD. I have had no service problems/hiccups/etc in the week since I left the office. It would be nice if it was cheaper, but I can say that about everything. read more

I canceled my account three months ago, turned in my stuff and am STILL BEING CHARGED!?! When I called them just now, they told me I hadn't really canceled my account and forwarded me to the cancellation dept. which it so happens was closed. When I did use Comcast, literally every month I had to call them about the bill they'd send me which was always wrong. I haven't had this experience with any other company I've patronized in my life. I guess I'm an odd one here.. but I'm actually very impressed with Comcast. Compared with other internet and cable providers around the country that I've had to deal with , their service was pretty good. I signed up for the double package online, and automatically, a chat window opened up, whereupon an operator explained to me what I had signed up for and asked if I had any other questions. I had just moved to SF and needed to get cable installed quickly and was actually able to get an installation service appointment within 2 days and on the weekend after chatting with the operator! even though it wasn't listed on the website as being available!! Weekend comes - service guy was really nice and even gave me his cell phone number in case anything acts up so that I don't have to call comcast (which I've heard could take a while). Thinking about it now, Comcast did have some of the best customer service interactions that I've come across from larger corporations! 2 thumbs up!! BTW: My comcast guy also let me in on a few places to get great deals on TVs and how to bargain for them. Extra thumbs up! read more

Scenario: I went here on a Friday morning to exchange my modem. Price: Cable internet service is pricey around $50 and my roomates and I have gone with a digital antenna and internet TV rather than cable TV. Channelsurfing.net is a huge help so I can watch non-basic channel sports like Monday Night Football. Service: Our internet service has been having a lot of trouble lately, only staying connected for a few hours at a time requiring my roomates and I to unplug it and plug it back in to reset everything. However, customer service was very friendly over the phone and the exchange at the store took mere minutes. Atmosphere: The Comcast office looks very industrial inside with brick walls and stone counters. It's clean and new, but not necessarily welcoming. Comcast is the only service in my neighborhood so it looks like I'm stuck with them for a while, but I HATE their service. I signed up with a promotional deal that indicated monthly service payments of $29.99 for the first 12 months. But my first bill was for $54.95 this is NOT including installation and such, this was JUST the service charge. When I called to complain, they simply said the promotional advertisement was a mistake. Even thought the woman who helped with my installation confirmed the promotional deal price. Also, I requested emailed monthly invoices instead of paper bills. They stopped sending me a bill in the mail but did not send me a bill via email and charged me a late fee when I did not pay on time. I explained over the phone that I cannot pay a bill without an invoice therefore the late fee should be waived. They would not waive it even though they admitted it was their mistake for not emailing me my bill. It wasn't until I said I was canceling the service that they waived the late fee. Horrible. If there is another cable/phone/internet provider in your area go with them. Nothing else can be as bad as Comcast. If I could give it no stars. I would. read more

I like what they offer and I think it's better than other available options because I know DSL is garbage as fuck, my only gripe is with how long it took them to come and hook up my internet and cable! I had talked to someone named "Ted" and supposedly someone was gonna come over and hook it up on Sunday, the day after I moved into my new spot. Well, then Ted calls me to tell me that their system is down so no one can come until Friday. Then yesterday Ted calls AGAIN to say that the only time someone can come out is Friday 12-2:00 or MONDAY but I don't have enough PTO to just waste it on a cable guy. Anyway I found someone who was able to let him in. Ted promised me 10 free On Demand movie passes but Paul the installer didn't bring these passes. Can I give 'NO' stars, for NO service? I went to the Portrero office to trade in my box for an HD box. I thought i could just plug all the wires into the back the way the last one was. The new one didnt have all the same ports. There was no place to put the IR blasters from the TiVo. I requested a service call in one of many phone calls to solve the problem. I went to Best Buy to find the right cable, they didnt have it. They have flaked on two appts. Claimed they were here, but the doorbell, home phone and cell phone never rang. So they have to reschedule my appt for another two hour window, what the hell my day is already messed up. The guy shows up without the equipment I requested (to several different people on the phone) and left me more confused and unsure if the damn thing is working or not. I have to chase around for two different cables, one that no one seems to have. Comcast never resolved my problem because I have a TiVo, instead of their dvr. I'm canceling all but basic service. I hate giving this company my money, but I need cable to get local tv. I'll get everything else from Netflix and AppleTV. ( Netflix = 7.99/ mo. AppleTV = 99.00 for one small box I can plug in myself. ) I love my new setup with Apple TV I can stream video content wirelessly from my iPhone to my flatscreen with 'AirPlay'. read more

They should have 0 stars. They over charge me on my Pay direct bill and thought I would not look at my bill? Then they gave me my refund without refunding the taxes they charged me on my original bill. It turns out that they owed me my refund plus $1.50 in taxes. What does $1.50 buy now a days - nothing but then I got to thinking it thru....They have 24.2 million cable customers if they over charge each ONCE 1.50 cents then they make what? 3,630,000 Dollars.
