I was in and out in 10 minutes. Best customer service experience with Comcast I've ever had. I believe the rather handsome agent's name was Michael. He took my modem, canceled my service after checking my ID, and took down my new address for the final bill. Simple and straight to the point. Prior to coming to the store, I had been on the phone with a lady in India who was NO help for 30 minutes. My former roommate transferred the account to me, yet she claimed I was nowhere on the account, and even after providing his social, address, phone number, and name, she wouldn't even give me the balance due on the account. She actually said, "You can give me a price you'd like to pay on this account, but I can't tell you any information about the account or how much you owe." I was livid. Like a random person is just going to call with all of the account information and try to make a payment. Long story short, I hung up on that nonsense and went to the store where Michael turned my negative experience into a positive one. Good job. read more

I received the most worst and terrible customer service ever in my life. Hector has poor customer service skills when asked questions he got frustrated and didn't want to deal with it you're in a customer service field should learn to be more customer-friendly not an a****** or jerk and not especially to get loud at a customer, understand a customer somewhat going off but for a customer service rep totally unacceptable. We pay for your service and we expect to get the service that is paid for but when you Hector act out and treat the customer like crap is totally unacceptable. We pay your wages by that being said you should be very very grateful to your customers and don't ever tell a customer you don't want to do your work or get into an issue that a customer has that's the whole point of you being there as a customer service rep Hector! Help me out here. I've had my share of problems and frustrations with Comcast. I have cable and phone with them. After a year of 2 great prices, of course the amount doubled. I eliminated 2 movie channels, but I never paid more than $35 for a phone bill and now it was $47. My hi speed internet is wi fi (wireless) which my neighbor invited me to share with him which has worked out well and I pay him $20. Today, I called Comcast to try and reduce the amount of my phone bill as just the basic bill is higher than it ever was in my life. This rep was nice, and he offered me the triple play which I've heard about (nothing but complaints) on yelp, but all I would have to add is the high speed internet and I would save $30/month on Cable/Internet/Phone. The price would be right in the ballpark. But I'm afraid to do that because of all the negative things said on YELP. I know the feeling. I've written crazy reviews about them, when I kept on losing my dial tone because I didn't want to switch to digital phone. I even told him why I was afraid to change. All the similar complaints I have read...I was thinking of sending them tohim. On the other hand, all I would be doing is getting High Speed Internet from them, get an additional movie channel, and lower my phone bill to where I want it. Sure sounds OK. Lately I've had no problems...is there anybody out there that has had a decent experience with the triple play package????? read more

If I could rate them a "-0" I would! Bottom line: read the reviews for Comcast as they are right on! Yes, I made the mistake of letting a friend talk me into switching over from DISH to COMCAST. She got a job there, in advertising, and blah blah blah. I have no idea how this is possible but she claims she knew nothing about how crappy their service was. BIG, BIG MISTAKE. I'll hold my ground the next time. The very DAY I had Comcast installed, while the tech was out at my home - 1:2 remotes were having intermittent problems with "non-responsive" key entries. Because the problem was intermittent and the remote just happened to be operational for the moment - he chose to leave me with the remote. The remote, so to speak? A LEMON. I have not been home for the past two weeks. Tonight, my first evening back home, I decided to watch some TV , or rather, I attempted to. The remote is completely non-operational at this point. Its totally unresponsive - no response to number imputs nor channel up/down - volume increase/decrease input buttons. However, throwing it against the wall a few times DID make me feel better. Then I called customer service. I asked them if they could send out a replacement for the remote; I told them I was a new customer and had been with them for about four weeks; I explained my frustrations. The customer service attendant told me I had several options: I could wait home for up to FOUR hours for a tech to drop off a replacement or I could pick one up at the Comcast "Cable" Store in SF. I told customer service that I could not make it down to the "cable" store nor was I waiting home for four hours for a remote control to be dropped off at my home -- especially when i was a new customer and had been given faulty equipment from the get go. i asked if they could fed ex, mail, etc. a replacement remote; I asked if I could purchase a "compatible" remote at another store (such as Best Buy) so I had several locations to choose from (so I didnt have to drive into the city between hours x and y M-F; I work in the SOUTH bay). The answer? NO. Oh, and to make matters worse? My first bill is incorrect.. I was supposed to pay only $65.00 for installation *yes, I talked them down because I had to incur early cancellation fee with DiSH* but I was invoiced for $113.00! Billing is closed for the evening (of course) but first thing tomorrow -- I'm all over it. They've updated the decor & customer waiting-in-line experience to be more like Apple's & ATT's. But, sadly, they haven't updated the training of their staff. Will spare you the extended drama but the highlight: 2 trips & 5 different answers from 5 different people later ... I had to just go back to calling 1-800-COMCAST. Turns out their in-store staff don't have the same access to the same profile info as their on-phone staff, so the in-store staff are equipped to sell me products and upgraded services ... but that's about it. Tells you Comcast's priorities: push the product. I felt sorry for the 2 women who were trained to give me vague answers. I even feel sorry for the store manager who seemed under trained himself. And I feel sorry for the rest of us stuck with Comcast because they have a monopoly. Neither the internet connection nor the cable experience is of quality. Xfinity/ Comcast, the future of overpriced, bad re-runs. We had the basic 120 cable channels and can only stand to watch a few, off and on, due to filler channels and old annoying shows. We just learned that our cable bill will be increasing. They spend so much on advertising, claiming that they are better then the competition. But not very convincing. Left Xfinity mobile after 1 year. Had 2 big issues. 1st issue arose in week 1. Ordered a Samsung Galaxy s8+. Got an LG at my doorstep. Called and service reps were unable to help. Had to go into a store and have the manager of the location call to try and get issue resolved. Took 2 weeks to get the right phone to me and then 3 months of me calling almost every week to get the mistake phone taken off my account. 2nd issue was getting a new note 9. Phone was obtained in a store. Within 5 mins of owning it, the volume button stopped working. I didn't even leave the store and they would not/could not replace it. Had to be shipped to me and defective phone shipped out. Decided to leave for Verizon at that point. I realize the entire mess if my fault for even attempting to use Comcast as a cell service. Save yourself a lot of time and stress and sign up with an actual carrier. read more

Seriously... Comcast customer service is the worst!!! If I didn't need my programs I would get out now! Its just way too pricey now. I used to get cable internet, tv and phone for 100, that was with the Spanish channels (for the bf), and a dvr. When I called to downgrade for just internet and tv, because I don't qualify for the introductory rate anymore, they told me it was pretty much going to be almost the same price. So, what you're saying is that I'll be paying the same amount for fewer services? Huh? UGH... so I still have the phone service that I never use. I was nervous after reading the negative reviews and attempted to go after work on a Monday, not knowing what I was in for. I was the 20th person in line, and with 4 customer support employees working, I was in and out in about 30 minutes. The actual swapping out of modems and cable boxes took less than 5 minutes. Overwall the comcast service was always awful to deal with. If you don't change it - it works but the smallest change creates all kind of problems. Anyway I had to come to this location to exchange an equipment. I had to wait 30 mins for simple equipment exchange (According to the representative I had to come to the store since the customer representative that ordered my equipment "Didn't know what she/he was doing" said the Comcast representative at the location. So I wasted 1 hour on the phone to purchase equipment and another 1 hour and 30 mins to go and exchange that equipment. Comcast ... How do you define success ? Is it by the line of people waiting to be served at your physical location? At least don't tell me that your employee made a mistake that why I wasted 2 hours of my life to deal with it. Their "service" people have been to my home 3 times and all have said "can not figure it out, sorry will be in a trouble ticket for you" Call the 800 number and they have not clue what is going on and want to send out a service person. You ask for credit and they say we can not credit you until we fix the issue... but they can not fix the issue so you can not get the credit... go figure. Horrible. ABsolutely horrible. When we ordered Comcast's service, the installation guy was very nice. Everything was working fine. THEN. A month or two later, they contacted me and my roommate, saying they had accidentally given us "the old version of their cable box", and promptly sent a man over to install the new one, (free of charge.. I think. I forgot..) So you could imagine my confusion when a week later, they send me the exact same updated cable box in the mail ?. They already gave me a new one!. But here's the kicker: They promised us that our bill would be $40 a month. I get my next bill for the second month, and the bill is $164.00 !!!! I just about shit my pants. According to the bill, I didn't pay the previous month. I CALLED A MONTH EARLIER AND THE AUTOMATED SYSTEM HELPED ME SET UP AUTOMATIC BILLING FROM MY DEBIT ACCOUNT. What the haaiil?? I tried calling customer service multiple times, but the robot kept denying my telephone number or denying my account even exists. I didn't want to mail the extra cable box back, since the local post office is so far away and I have no duct tape to re-package it AND - i needed to have a few choice words with them anyways. -____- Ain' nobody got da tiiiime fa dat !. So I nobly carried it back by taking the bus and walking. After 2.5 hours of being lost in this mexican ghetto looking for this place, I finally find it & haul it in there. I wait in line for about 15 minutes and am finally helped. I give them the cable box and ask this less-than-enthusiastic employee about my billing statement. He looked it up on the system and said that I never paid the previous month's bill, so they added on late fees.... WHAT? I told him about the automated service and he said that records show that the card number i entered was "invalid". I specifically remembered entering the number that was on the front of my card, double-checking it before I sent it & everything. THEY DID NOT EVEN NOTIFY ME THAT MY AUTOMATED BILLING WASN'T WORKING. Comcast is a cheap cheat. They will offer their security in place of your land line to lower your bill. It will be effective only on the first month - the bill will be lower only for one month. The next month, it will be higher than before. They are using cheap tricks to make you pay more. The resident in Lakewood Apartment are irking to leave Comcast. Less a review than a story and a warning to heed. So, I have a couple of friends over to my home last Saturday when I hear a gestapo-esque knock at my door and a voice announcing Comcast. I answer the door and am told by a scruffy-looking gentleman that I had a delinquent bill and must pay, in cash, at that time or my service would be disconnected. How strange, I tell him, as I was current on my bill. I show him a copy of my most recent statement, with a zero balance tell him that there must have been a mistake and ask that he check with the Comcast office. He tells me that he will do so but, if there was not an error in his paperwork, be back Monday to disconnect service. I apologise to my guests, who by this point, having heard the entire exchange, must think that I'm some sort of shady bill-evader, and give Comcast a call myself. Once I (finally) get a real person on the line, I explain the situation and she tells me that the bill was for my secondary, not primary line. OK, I live in a studio apartment, and have no use for, nor have ever ordered a second line through Comcast, I tell her. She explains to me that there must have been an error when my service was installed and promised to clear up the problem. Now, highly disturbed by the situation, I ask if they've been billing me for this second line all along and, if so, how many bills have I paid for this never-ordered service. I was assured that they'd not been billing for the secondary line but I request a total billing statement to compare with my checking account records, you know, just to be extra safe. At the end of the conversation I was assured that they would call off the collection dogs and get my account (singular, not plural) back in order. Fast forward to Tuesday. Same knock, same guy asking me for money. I told him that I'd spoken with Comcast, that there was a mix-up but that I had no outstanding bill and that he should call the billing office to confirm that this was the case. He tells me that he'd take care of it. Five minutes later the telephone and cable lines were disconnected. Without a cell phone, I walk to the nearest pay-phone, on a creepy little corner where drug addicts wait for calls from their dealers, and call up the company. I explained the situation, was apologised to profusely and was told that they would have a technician to my home within two hours to repair the problem. OK, I'll wait... Three hours later I'm again at the shady pay phone asking what is going on with my service. By this point, my patience is completely gone. I tell the representative that they must either get a technician to my home within 15 minutes or I'd be cancelling my service with Comcast. Again, the apologies flow and I'm asked to stay on hold while they contact a dispatcher to find out where the technician was. After awhile, the operator gets back on the line to tell me that the technician claims to be in my apartment talking with me and setting up the service What?! I ask. Impossible as no one is in my apartment and I'm freezing my ass off at a fucking direct to dealer pay phone a block away. On hold again and, as it turned out, the technician was trying to install my service in an apartment in my building which was not mine, but which was my apartment's number in reverse. I live in XYZ and this idiot was trying to install my service in ZYX. Right. Comcast promises to fix the issue and I ask them, now that any confidence that I once might have had with the company is completely gone, what they had in mind to make this up to me. The representative hems and haws a bit, I'm transferred around for awhile but, finally, I'm offered a greatly reduced rate for service which I did choose to accept. The moral of this review/rant is; watch your ass when dealing with Comcast, keep all of your records and, when screwed (because you will be), be certain to haggle on rates. This review is for Business Support, not the retail store (that's horrible, too, but we all know that). Terrible service. Missed two appointments. When the tech named Henry finally showed up he didn't have the training, or equipment needed to fix the issue. He wanted to bring a business network down to test the speed (Comcast modem didn't work) on Monday morning and then leave it down because he didn't know how to bring it back up. So, instead of calling a Supervisor or Tech Support, he smirks and walks off the job. And then closes the ticket. If there was any other choice I would not be a Comcast customer. read more

OK, I had read all the other posts and had expected cancelling my Comcast cable service to be horror show. I did conclude that going in person with my cable box, etc., to the Potrero office was the best option, thereby eliminating the possibility of lost documentation or equipment somewhere down the line. Signing in at the front desk took two minutes or so, and the wait time for a rep was about twenty. The transaction itself took about five. The rep simply asked my reason for cancelling. When I told her that streaming and over-the-air fulfilled all our needs, she proceeded to cancel my account as requested. She was completely courteous and professional. So in and out in about half an hour midday on a Tuesday--receipt with date and serial number/MAC in hand. Within a few days, Comcast closed out my account and calculated a refund on a prorated basis. 4 hours. From trying to start my service, 2 trips, and many phone calls. This review is for the business of Comcast, but this specific store (albeit clean, relatively quick) had blame as well. So here we go with yet another review that won't matter because a monopoly exists: Called a week ago to start new service with plan A. Called the day before to see if I could pick up my equip early. They said my order was cancelled. Nobody knows why. But told to go to the store to pick up everything and it'll be sorted. Go to the store, and it was clean, quick and cordial. The guy at the counter said 'he knew the package I originally wanted.' He said orders get cancelled automatically if you don't pick up the equipment in a week (yet nobody said this when I called). He showed me the screen so I could confirm what I wanted, said some Comcast stuff, and I was out the door. Confirmed it was the right box, and he said yes. I asked for a printout of my service, and he said it'll be available online (Comcast seems to avoid putting contracts in writing, and loves these verbal acknowledgments of service you called about/discussed). Set up the box. But I only got a handful of channels, and HBO (which I didn't order). Called support and they said I had plan B (not the abortion pill, although I wish I could abort Comcast). Nope, that's not what I ordered (why does Comcast do this 'verbal confirmation' on the phone, and yet they never can seem to find records of said conversation?). He says he could move me to the other plan (oh thanks, you mean the one I asked for originally and not the 100Mbs internet that never came out of my mouth). But to get the plan I wanted, I needed a new cable box. So trip #2 to the store. Swap the box. Set up the box round 2. The box hangs up. Called support. 1 hour later I get a call back. Apparently I have the wrong box, because I have plan B. Holy hell, I literally got off with support confirming I had plan A (now I do want to abort). Transferred to another support person to get me on plan A (again?). Support says she has to see if I can get the deal because I'm an existing customer. Think about this for a minute: I'm a new customer, wanted Plan A, they created an account for me, dropped the order for no reason, now claim I'm an existing customer and promo plans don't apply to me. They get a manager to 'get me the deal' as if I should be grateful I got what I originally asked for. Box loads up. The channels from plan A aren't all loading. Transferred to tech support. They had to tweak the box so that it gave me the right channels. It's 8PM. I started at 4PM. I still haven't gotten the confirmation email showing what plan I have. Very much looking forward to when my bill comes to see what they signed me up for. Now to be fair, everyone on the phone was nice. But the systems in place are not working. At. All. read more

I had a bad remote I needed to sway and was dreading going to exchange it. I walked in and the miserable shamehole Comcast office I was used to with crazy long line was now a open layout with smiling faces. I was immediately greeted by Elter, who notice the remote in my hand and asked if I was there tho replace it. I said yes and she had a new one in my hand in less than 2 minutes. In that brief time I spoke with Paris, Shawn, and Jesse about how impressed I was with the new service. Paris commented that "We've (Xfinity) heard the concerns and we're making improvements. It's a big ship and it takes time to make that turn." I loved the analogy and could not be happier with the service I received today. I Hate Comcast This informal review is two-fold and "interactive". I'm curious what peoples' experience is with Comcast. Then I'm asking for alternatives on the on-demand movie side. My recent experience was pretty awful. I work from home sometimes and with all the photos I'm doing, I really needed to up my speeds dramatically. So I called them and for $70 a month, they said they would up my speed AND give me free cable for 6 months. Of course they insisted on sending a tech, when all I needed to do was pick up a box and plug it in. Anyway the box sucked, it was from 1999 or something, heated up like a toaster oven and took seconds to change channels. On-demand? Useless, took 30 seconds for the menu to come up and five seconds to scroll up or down. The speeds were terrible, so I called them and spent hours on the phone. They were useless so I decided to just replace everything, so I bought a DOCSIS 3.0 modem, a Motorola 6121, which is pretty sweet but expensive. (Still pays for itself in a year.) But I needed it for bonding channels to get the high speeds. Then I tossed my Airport Extreme (Apple access points kind of suck surprisingly.) and got a Asus RT-16N which absolutely rocks as a router when you reprogram the firmware with Tomato USB, an open source firmware. Plus it's like 90 bucks, a total steal! I also got an "N" card for my laptop, ripped out the old "G" one and installed it, just for good measure. Overkill but whatever, 30 bucks on eBay. So, all that, speeds still terrible. 3 tech visits later, 2 of which the visits had to be re-scheduled because they never showed up, I login into my account and I figured out they were lying to me the whole time, they actually slowed my speed but gave me this "deal" on cable TV, which I told them a million times, I didn't want. The Level 2 Tech just kind of shrugged when I told him. Then it took two hours on the phone to flatten my account and rebuild it and then the tech took the stupid cable box away apologizing profusely. So that's my Comcast horror story, they basically lie. They lied to me before too, they always said I had to have basic cable because it's cheaper, but that is not the case at all. It's 3 dollars cheaper to not have it. Then if you want it, which you don't, because who watches 1980's movies dubbed in Spanish- you can just wrench off the stupid filter that the tech put on the coax line where it comes out of the ground or basement with a pair of pliers and you are all set, of course I don't do that. Anyway, it should be illegal not to have basic cable for emergency broadcast warnings. Liars liars liars. And they never effing shut up about "package deals". I DON'T WANT IT! Actually they don't lie as much as the phone reps don't know shit from diarrhea. They don't even know what the speeds are. When it finally got into their thick skulls I was canceling the cable they sold me that I didn't want, I had to talk to the "Retention Department". So am I a criminal or something? Anyway, what's new in streaming movies these days? Bagged Netflix, had Comcast cable for a month, sucked, plus they are liars. Roku? Vudu? Apple TV? Google TV? Just want to watch a movie here and there for next to nothing like a normal person. PS. I got one of their remotes which they forgot to take, so if you need one, holla. Comcast, what are you thinking. Why is it that every time a girl comes over and turns on the TV, I cringe in horror as 10 channels of porn comes up on the TV guide. Can't Comcast put their porn channels anywhere other than right below channel 2. Can you imagine a girl coming over and turning on the cable to find "Your ASSic Park III" and "Forrest Hump" playing for $9.99? My only real experience with their customer service happened when upgraded to a HD tuner and got the DVR. I actually signed up for it at the Stonestown mall which was pretty easy. But when the tech installed all the new equipment he didn't take back the old tuner. After looking at the 3 plus pages of the cable bill statement I realized I was getting charged $10 to have the unconnected tuner sit at my house. When I visited their office you could tell that ever employee there wanted to shoot their own brains out more than I did. While waiting in line apparently I wasn't the only one pissed about getting such crappy service and charges for a cable bill. I saw 3 people start giving the reps a hard time. After standing there for 15 minutes with the tuner in my arms I gladly just turned it in and didn't make a fuss over $30. There's no way I'm going to give the rep a hard time since I'm sure they're making $10 an hour and obviously not getting the millions Comcast profits from charging their customers such high premiums for crappy channels. The DVR hasn't let me down. I do like it a lot. The HDTV is good though only 10 freaking channels are in HD. And what is up with those ComASStic commercials. Every time I hear it I think about the punchline to a bad joke where the savages yell "death by Bunga Bunga". Seriously the $150 cable bill is way too much .I know I'm getting butt raped here, but similar to being in the pen, we know it's wrong but there's nothing we can do about it. But at least I can watch all the tv shows I want like '"The Surreal Life", American Idol in HD and "Hogan Knows Best"! Boo-yah! read more

I don't know which Comcast office it is, but I chose the one that had the most reviews in SF. And it seems many of us have our "Comcast stories" to tell, so here's mine... I was trying to get Comcast installed in my new home and I made an appointment on Friday morning to get it done. I scheduled it to be 8-10am, so I wouldn't waste that much time later on at work. I waited and about 8:45am, Comcast calls me to tell me that a technician is coming from now till 10am, which seemed pretty obvious since that's what I scheduled to begin with. So I waited till 10am and nobody showed up. I waited another 15 mins and nothing still. I called Comcast to see what's up and they said they didn't know what happened and will fill out a form about this mishap and that someone will call me back shortly. So nothing else to do, I get in my car and drive to work. On the way to work, Comcast calls me and says they're sorry and that the reason the technician didn't show up is because my building is too new and the technician didn't know where it was. I'm like "okay..." so he reschedules it for me to have someone come on Sunday at 10-12. And this time, he "reassures" me that the technician will be on time AND as a courtesy will give me a call and give me an exact time frame the technician left to go to my place (the example he gave was "the technician left for your place now and will be there in 20 minutes"). And going back to where the technician didn't know how to get to my place was bogus because they could've 1) Google/Yahoo Maps it, 2) I know someone in my building that actually does have Comcast so obviously they know my building exists, and 3) they could've given me the damn courtesy to tell me that the technician wasn't coming! So anyway, let's jump to Sunday... It's Sunday and I'm waiting for the technician. Its 11:40, I get a call from Comcast saying the technician will be late and will arrive before 12:30. So I wait till 12:30 and still nothing. So that "reassurance" of a better courtesy call never happened. I tried to call Comcast, but I just got elevator music for the next 20 mins. I waited and waited till 1:10 and still not a peep from anyone at Comcast. I had to leave because I made an appointment with some friends for lunch, which I keep my promises to be somewhere when I said I would. Then of course, at about 1:30, I get a call from my front lobby and it's (guess who?) the Comcast guy. He has the nerve to say "Hey, I'm here" and I go "I thought you were suppose to be here between 10-12" and he goes "Yeah, but I'm here now. Can I come up?" and as I said before, I wasn't home, so he just goes "Oh. Okay bye" and he hangs up on me. I can't believe I got flaked on twice. I guess this time someone actually came, but came over an hour late without informing me. So as any normal customer would do, I tried calling Comcast but their lines were busy all day long apparently. So I tried on Monday and success, someone picked up. Unfortunately for them, they got an angry customer. The guy tried to compensate by giving me $20 and waive my $25 installation fee, but I wanted more from that. For Comcast to show they want my money and simply for principle sake, I wanted 2 months waived since they did a no-show for me 2 times. The guy wouldn't budge and I said I'm going to DirecTV and he didn't have a problem with that. It's appalling to see how terrible customer service they have at that company. So lessons to be learned here folks... STAY AWAY FROM COMCAST! There are other options around like DirecTV (which is my only other TV provider in my building). Or better yet, get Internet from some place else (like Web Pass) and just Hulu your TV shows. I did much research on my options since those fateful cable days. DirecTV is one option and I hear their service is better, not great, but better. The other is this software I got for $20 called PlayOn that streams bunch of Internet media (Hulu, CBS, YouTube, CNN, ESPN clips/highlights, South Park Studios, etc.) to your Xbox 360 or PS3 or Wii. Or there's Netflix for $9.99 a month that gives you DVD rentals and instant streaming content. And there are other "alternative" solutions that I've heard people talk about as well. But maybe I do have something to thank Comcast for. My TV viewing habits are almost nonexistent now and I have more time to do other things and save money. So thanks Comcast for convincing me to not get your service!! read more
