Trying to schedule an appointment for install is a nightmare - over 3 hours phone time and missed appointments, accidental hangups by comcast with no call back, commitment to call back to conirm not done and then finally he shows up but has difficulty following the instructions on the call box for our gates which say "001 to call house" So they left, when I called comcast they said they are douoble booked and can't come out. I just witness the cashier Kimberly that was in desk#2 treat a man very rudely. I think she was upset she had to come out from behind the counter to help him sign in at the front desk. You have to physically sign in on the pad. I don't think he was computer savvy and by telling him" you're just putting in your name, it not really that hard". She walked away abruptly but the man that was standing behind the customer was kind enough to step up and help him finish. I worked at Walgreens for 28 years and would have been fired on the spot for a customer as such. This happened approximately between 11 and 1115 today. I called Xfinity this morning and spoke with a rep and then a supervisor and then a manager who is in Mexico and works for Xfinity as a manager and makes 40 pesos an hour which is $2.59 an hour. My problem with this is that as much as Xfinity charges me every month they could pay a Mexican manager a proper hourly rate or keep the jobs in the United States and pay someone here properly. I'm appalled that Xfinity crosses borders so they can pay a non american so below minimum wage and then charge Xfinity customers so much money for their service. Mexico doesn't even offer Xfinity. They're the worst. Originally got internet only and out of nowhere they sent a tv box that we never asked for and changed our plan without notice. Was checking my account online and I just found out we have the phone service too but we don't even have a home phone. So we're paying for something we don't use nor asked for. WHEN Comcast went digital, we lost service. Wife called weekly for a box, 4 weeks later, with a box, no service. I called, switched out for 2 new boxes, nothing. Internet didn't even work as before the changeover. Service rep came out of his pickup, looked at the comcast wire from house to the phone pole, and said I'll never get tv with that thing on your line. He climbed the pole and cut off the filter (A LEAD TUBE) and went into the house and the TV worked fine. Now Comcast reneged on the credit for lack of service Sept. to the service date, and charged for the service call to cut the old filter off the telephone pole. the account executive who called refused to identify herself, and I called back and found her name is coded as"R!/ " She was exasperated because I couldn't name any of the people we have spoken with over the last 4 months about this problem. I hate this company with all my heart. We had them supplying high speed internet to our business for about a year and had to switch after hours and hours of phone calls, visits from their technicians, emails, and us buying and installing lots of other equipment. Their internet service is extremely unreliable. It would go out multiple times per day. It was almost useless for VOIP phones. More than 50% of calls had such a bad connection they were effectively useless and we've have to call them back on a cell phone line. They made up countless excuses about the power being supplied to the box being unreliable or us putting too many devices on the network, but even after buying surge protectors, battery packs, multiple wifi routers, and only having one device on the network, the connection was still terrible. Then when I tried to tell them it was their fault, we'd tried everything they'd suggested, they would not accept responsibility. They repeatedly wanted to send technicians to our office even though they never accomplished anything on any of their inspections. In all my life, no company has ever made me as mad as Comcast. read more

My story like many started with the incompetent cave folk they sent out to install my service, these guys are contractors and idiots. I should have stopped the whole process when I had to tell them how and where they could run the cable lines and then had to stop them from using the exisisting Dish network cables. Then when I get a bill that says I have gotten two DVR cable boxes instead of regular ones, they accept their mistake for all of about two minutes. After sending them THREE times a copy of the original work order that did not have DVR written anywhere they tell me to ignore any other letters etc.. Only that was their Customer Service Center employess way to get off the phone with me, they went ahead and are trying to ruin my credit for these non- exisistent boxes, Charging me $564 for these fantasy boxes. I have sent email, I have been on the phone, I have faxed. I wish I wish for them to go bellyup just like those other bastards Enron. Everytime I see a Comcast truck I want to throw a rock, but I won't. Dammit being civilized when dealing with savages Sucks! **UPDATE** My brother used to work for Comcast(when they were decent to us and their workers) and he said tell them to produce records that I had those DVR boxes and tell them I have copies of statements that had the DVR charges and than months of them not on the statements after blowing a few choice words at their reps. So, I called again and told them very nicely my above story plus my Bro's recommendation. Guess what? Some how by magic the DVR turned up in the warehouse and he even gave me the serial numbers, he said they must have been returned I said it must have been magic eleves then. Than he said I had a $19.77 charge still, needless to say it took no time to get that off as well, of course I had to say once again show me proof. Man, these guys are such a joke, save for the guy who finally helped kinda. Oh well, one of my roomates got the service and he is going to cancel it once the sign up special runs out, which it will and the price will double plus some. People can be quite harsh. I hated the line. The line was ridiculous! Literally, there are 30-40 people ahead of me! I shouldve brought a book! It's like waiting at the DMV! Roger Chen then made it worthwhile. He was friendly and entertaining. He answered my questions and told me honestly when he couldn't. I didn't have anything right the first time with Comcast. I had issues with my box - service jittered every 5 minutes and my Internet would disconnect me so that I had to reboot the modem manually every three days. When I called in regard to the tv, I had same day service. The Comcast guy was at my house within hours, was fast and friendly, and gave me a box that was working within 30 minutes. I didn't expect them to be able to fix my Internet problem. They had a guy out the next day, swapped my modem out and I've had no issues ever since. Now, I am on a promotion rate. When my service goes to regular price and/or I lose my HBO, I might decide to switch, but thus far, my service has been pretty good and they've been very responsive to my issues. I've had several calls on the phone in regard to billing and Internet as well. They haven't answered my questions to the T, but I haven't been completely dissatisfied in anyway. No customer service rep has ever been rude or given me any bad vibe - at least not yet. read more

I had to call and then explain it to another 3 other people. Finally, I got a response that told me a tech would come out to my house. Never happened. No callback or follow-up. Tried again today. Comcast will eventually fall, as do all monopolies. The reason will not only be uneven service, particularly cable, but also an arrogance and incompetence that comes with success. Add to that what appears to be growing dishonesty. Say, for example, you cancel your cable service, for whatever reason, but in this case because it's not reliable. And let's say you had a bundle of services. What they do, without telling you, by way of email, or by snail mail, is to charge you double the price of Internet service to make up the difference. That's up to you to figure out. And there are other lesser examples.... Store hours are not posted online. Stores are often understaffed. Repairmen, and women, often give conflicting advice. There is heavy turnover. And now question what they say: 1) you cannot pick up a cable box in say Burlingame if you live in say San Francisco. Boxes are tuned to areas. 2) they will match the AT&T price of $107, but it doesn't include HD. They don't tell you that. They sell you what you assume is the same service. It is not. This is one more of the dishonest aspects of Comcast..... read more

*I WOULD GIVE 0 (ZERO) STARS IF ALLOWED!!!* Being a "Valued Customer" for many years doesn't mean jack when dealing with this company... We recently moved to a new house and had "scheduled" a technician to come out on a Thurs., so my husband and I both took the day off to wait around for the ever elusive Cable Guy. Now with the new package my husband was suckered into getting, came an alarm system...we weren't really interested, but agreed to try it out as part of the offer. So the Alarm Tech showed up to inform us that he can't hook up the alarm without cable/Internet, and the Cable Tech was not coming out for 2 more days?!? WTF?!? I later came to find out that a big order such as ours, was split into 2 trips, and some Einstein switched the order of the service calls! Why does this not surprise me?!?! My husband made a great point..."I have NEVER had a cable appt. with Comcast go smoothly" So I got on the phone with the determination and intention of speaking to a ...dare I say it...live person! Well to make a long story short, I was on the phone for 65 min., 35 of which I was "conveniently" placed on hold. After being merrily, merrily, merrily passed from one dept. to another, I finally was able to speak with a Supervisor. He was NO better than all the other "geniuses" I had the ill fortune of speaking with. He spouted off a bunch of B.S. and offered me a...brace yourself...$50 credit to the account! (He also informed me that the usual credit was $20, so he was going "above and beyond" for us) Bah ha ha ha!!! He had a mellow "calm the irate client" tone to his premeditated speech, and at times came off quite condescending and passive aggressive. Comcast internet sucks. they have animated adds that start automatickly and you cant stop the adds. you have to Mute your computer so that you wont hear the adds while you logged into Comcast.net. I am thinking about going back to DSL or AOL. because Comcast sucks so bad. I tried to contact them about this before I posted this but its impossible to get a person on the phone that knows what they are doing. OK, I can't stand Comcast anymore. My mom still uses them even though the hubby and I switched to direct TV with MORE channels for a lot LESS! I just think the way they do business is shady, they keep hiking up the prices, they charge an unbelievable $10 to have their version of the tivo service PER month, and their customer service is HORRIBLE and UNPROFESSIONAL! My hubby works as an electronic technician and is a lot more knowledgeable about cables and wiring. Only thing we use is their high speed right now and I do actually love their on demand especially Fear.net movie channel more than the Chill channel on Direct TV since they give you Japanese and Korean horror movies as well. Aside from missing that, I don't miss their prices or their horrible customer service. So one star is for their Internet and the other one is for their on demand, otherwise they wouldn't be getting any from me. read more

Hate Comcast, BIG prices and low quality services.

OH BEWARE!!!! I had this done 3 weeks ago after several calls regarding the digital request. They are indicating that is mandated based on regulatory approval. HOWEVER, it hasn't been approved yet. I changed over, and it has been a nightmare ever since. My phone service goes out daily, and when I call, they tell me tech. needs to come out and adjust the (fill in the blank) and then schedules me two days later. When the tech arrived, he told me to keep my cable modem separate, b/c Comcast has not figured out the quirks yet. Here is the beef, when you change over, if one goes out, THEY ALL GO OUT! It is all plugged into 1 modem. CABLE/PHONE/INTERNET. I am online right now getting ready to change over to AT&T. Oh by the way. Careful about the billing part too. When I changed over, I thought that they were going to transfer the old billing to the new billing. THEY DID not. I kept calling to find out my balance and they told me $0 (3x). Then I got a mailing saying they were sending me to a collection agency. I called to complain to a manager and they gave me some garbage about how "this is a different department than digital voice, and you can contact them at.....and then gave me another number" 3 hours wasted of my precious time on junk service. I quit as soon as possible. read more

I must be one of the luckier Comcast customers. I've had their cable TV and internet service for several years and recently added digital voice after ditching AT&T as my telephone carrier. The Comcast bundle for all three services actually dropped my total utility bill by $40 a month AND I got a bump up in internet speed as well as getting 10 HBO channels that I did not have before. I rarely have problems with their services and on those rare occasions where I have had problems and had to call their service center, I USUALLY (keep reading) get good results and my problems get solved. They have also been generous about giving me credits on my bill if I do have an outage. They can be difficult to get a hold of by telephone and their tech support centers provide inconsistent and sometimes conflicting information and service, but for the most part, I am pleased with Comcast. I get more TV channels than I could ever possibly want. My telephone service has worked flawlessly since install and my internet service runs at about 25Mbps download and 7Mbps upload. Even though I dropped my utility bill by about $40 per month, I think that their services are pricey. But I'm happy to use Comcast since the options in SF are limited to satellite or AT&T. And I would rather die than use AT&T for ANYTHING. I give it Comcast 4 stars not 5 stars --- only because they are expensive IMHO. read more

It's really the regular Comcast customer service that has my family and I upset! I spoke to someone around 8/8:30A and I was told that they were going to send out a tech between the hours of 2-4P. We dropped everything to make sure we were here at that time so they can fix this modem/router/phone issue. We had no phone service for 1-2 days and no Internet for longer. They switched out service to prepare for the new modem without us knowing not receiving the modem in the mail first. We had to call and see where we could pick one up at and when we receive the modem in the mail to send it back.... Honestly after a day filled with B***S**t I might just give it away as a gift. No one showed up at the specified time and we were even told that the rep never opened a ticket for today and our current had opened one for tomorrow between the hours of 2-4P. Seriously...we will not be home and we need our phone. Looks like they will be losing another customer. You say we're a values customer but you can't do anything to solve our problem until the following week. We spoke to 10 different people including a billing supervisor who was of no help. Everyone tried to sugar coat everything without making anything happen, making us more irate and the California stores closing around 6P. Let me remind you that we called at/around 8/8:30A..... No one came through with what they call good service. We are currently on the phone with another company to see what they can do in this case.... It's sad because we've been with Comcast for years.... I'm currently upset, just straight irritated because we had something important to do and stopped everything to be here and still we received no assistance. Liars. Liars. Liars. It took us 4 appts to get our internet set up and 2 more appts to get our cable set up for one room. The didn't show up for the first appt.. 3 hours late for the 2nd appt. and the guy left without doing anything productive saying that he needed an extra team member to help him. 3rd appt. guy come 4 hours late and left after a few minutes because it started raining. They never showed up for the last appt. to do the remaining rooms. Each time, customer service promises $20 credit for your inconvenience. I have gone through 3 billing cycles and they've issued me one credit. I have made so many phone calls that just reaches a call center in the Philippines. They say they'll take care of it and the next bill shows up and nothing. I'll call them with all of my documented conversations and they say "yes" on the phone...nothing. I recently moved and wanted to use an older modem that my boyfriend had from his old apartment. I called in and they told me it would be best for me to go into the store. Based off reviews, I was a little worried it would be an "ordeal" but it was quite the opposite. We got there shortly after opening on a Sunday and were in and out in under 10 minutes. Comcast/XFinity are not my favorite people! I have had many bad experiences with them but today I had a good one so these four stars are based on that event. Spoke to employees Arrio and the manager, Darlene at the Potrero Hill store. Both very helpful and Arrio took my payment and walked me through some pertinent information which was very helpful. Darlene took over and when I told her I was thinking of buying a new TV she walked me through the new features of an updated remote. I never got the sense she was trying to give me the 'hard sell and all the BS that comes with that.' She was professional, helpful and very knowledgeable of the company products and she 'took care of me' and went a long way to redeeming the company in my eyes (well maybe a little!) by showing that it is better to talk to an employee face to face rather than over the phone, which is a frustrating experience in itself. Had a good experience at the SF store last weekend. Looks like not a lot of people that are enjoying their cable service are taking the time to write in, but I can't really complain. The line was a little long, but the reps did a good job of moving everyone along. I got all three products and everything is working great.
