After exploring Dallas I was hungry and looking for a good meal. Luckily for me, this place was right around the corner. I walked in around 5 o'clock on a Sunday. I was by myself, but I was seated immediately. I believe my server's name was Paul and he was amazing. Absolutely a great server so personable, had so many great suggestions, just wonderful. I started with a margarita and some cheese balls, I believe they're pimento cheese balls. Both were delicious and I highly recommend the cheese pull in the cheese balls was unmatched! For my meal, I ordered the fried lobster roll. The dish served exactly what it said. It was in the description and the first three bites were amazing but after that, I started to want just a regular lobster roll and not the texture of the fried lobster anymore. So 100% this dish is what it says it is and I still think it's worth ordering. I just don't think it's something I would order again. The menu at Y.O. Steakhouse is huge and so many dishes came out that looked incredible. I would absolutely come back if I go back to Dallas for a trip. It's also super conveniently located by some other places where you could grab a drink afterwards or some shops where you could peek in and get a cowboy hat or boots also, it's not too far from the JFK assassination Museum.

Y.O. is the quintessential Dallas steakhouse. Two words Absolutely Amazing. My son was in Dallas on business and decided to try Y.O. and had the filet which was one of the best ever. This is a must visit steak house in Dallas!

Food, service and ambience all give stars. Waitress gave excellent recommendations with the venison bites and buffalo fillet. Really unique dishes and experience , leave feeling healthy and full. Manager James came to talk to us too and topped off the experience by making sure everything was great. Highly recommend this Texas steakhouse!

Wife and I just had our new years eve dinner here and it was outstanding. Our waitress was Megan, and she was a great, she answered all our questions , gave us info on certain meals, and gave us some good advice on ordering sides. My drink (revolver old fashioned) was exceptionally made and tasted great. For appetizer I had the Shrimp & Grits, the gravy was so very very good and the grits were excellent, I will need to go back and order that for an entrée, YES it was that good. For an entrée I had the Surf and Turf. The steak was cooked the exact medium that I wanted it and the chicken fried lobster was very moist and tender. For dessert the Dulce de Leche Cheesecake was a little on the very sweet side, but was also really good. The dinner was pricey, but we really enjoyed our meal and look forward to returning.

Found this place on Yelp as a top rated steakhouse in Dallas. I visited on a Sunday evening without a reservation. To my surprise the place was pretty empty. My guest and I were seated immediately. I ordered a margarita/martini that came out pretty quickly. We ordered the ribeye to share plus a side of Brussel sprouts. We added the bone marrow butter (I believe) and it added a GREAT flavor. I was a little disappointed in the Brussel sprouts (took away one star), as I felt they were pretty flavorless. They seemed to be cooked in bacon and had bacon on them, but they lacked any flavor outside of salt, butter and pepper. The inside of the building was nice and relatively clean. It wasn't what I would ideally think of as a "steakhouse" based on the menu prices. Theh prices were a little higher compared to the way the establishment looked, but it wasn't dirty or unclean, just not as fancy as the prices would suggest. Overall the customer service was really good and steak was amazing. Had the sprouts been more flavorful I would've gladly given 5 stars but they definitely took away from the enjoyment. I would be open to returning and maybe trying a different side next time instead.

I recently had the chance to visit Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse for dinner and it was a wonderful experience! We started the night with drinks and I had the Berry Blast mocktail per our waiter's recommendation. It was refreshing and tasted like fresh blueberries rather than being artificial. For our appetizers, we had the Texas Hill Country Quail Medallions and Y.O. House Salad. The quail medallions were excellent. They were tender, flavorful and I definitely understood why they are a popular choice. The salad was also very good, I particularly enjoyed the candied pecans and goat cheese, it was a classic. For our entrées, we ordered the Prime Ribeye and Prime New York Strip steaks, medium rare and medium well. Both were cooked perfectly. We also specified to include the Bone Marrow Butter on top of the steaks, which was absolutely my favorite part of the night! I highly recommend adding it to your steak to give it that extra flavor and richness. For our sides, we spilt the Gouda Mac & Cheese and the Mashed Potatoes. The potatoes were very good and a classic side dish for a steakhouse. The mac and cheese however was another one of my favorite parts of the night! It comes with large pasta shells, delicious cheese and a layer of thicker cheese on top. I absolutely loved it! Lastly, for our dessert, we had the Dulce de Leche Cheesecake and White Chocolate Macadamia NutBread Pudding. The cheesecake was made very well but the caramel flavor was particularly strong for my tastes. I understand that the dulce de leche flavor is caramel but I believe it would have been better as a plain cheesecake with caramel drizzle versus caramel cheesecake with caramel drizzle. The bread pudding was absolutely delicious! It was warm, served with a massive scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. It was a great way to end the meal. Overall, I had a great experience and meal here. Our waiter, Jorge, was wonderful, took care of us and gave us great recommendations. I look forward to coming back sometime soon! Thank you!!

    Ribeye

I had a great experience at Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse in Dallas. If you're looking for a classic Texas steakhouse with a unique twist, this place really stands out. The ribeye is the highlight for me and easily one of the best things on the menu. It's cooked perfectly and has incredible flavor. What makes this spot even more interesting is that they offer a wide variety of wild game like venison, elk, buffalo, and other meats you don't see at most steakhouses, which makes it a fun place to try something different if you're feeling adventurous. Overall it's a great place for a big steak dinner and a true Texas style dining experience. The staff is friendly and explains the menu very well. The ambiance is super TEXAN so you must try if you're in the area!

Wow! Really enjoyed our meal at Y.O. Steakhouse. Our server, Melissa was really great. She was super attentive, anticipated our needs and was friendly as well. Couldn't have been better - which makes it easy to write a great review and recommend Y.O. Steakhouse 100%. The steaks were done to perfection and the sides were really tasty. The atmosphere is very Texas steakhouse so exactly what we were looking for - highly recommend.

We had such a great time at this steakhouse! Kicked things off with the quail medallions - tender, flavorful, and topped with a rich, savory gravy that made them even better. For mains, we sampled a little bit of everything: the prime burger on brioche bun (juicy and packed with great flavor), a fresh and hearty steak Cobb salad, and the fried lobster roll sandwich on a brioche hoagie bun - which was every bit as rich and delicious as it sounds. The crispy fries on the side sealed the deal. On top of all that, the service was absolutely phenomenal -- friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Great food, great atmosphere, and we will definitely be back!

We had a phenomenal server, Brandon. He exemplifies a level of service commensurate with the delicious food, steaks cooked to perfection, portion sizes were plentiful. We had the bone in rib eye and steak frites as entrees and they did not disappoint... we will be back! The drinks were also delicious, we both ordered the old fashions, and they were exceptional. But the real star is Brandon. He was a pleasure. Loved his vibrant personality. He is an asset to Y. O. !

Excellent service, the staff were very welcoming and Ryan, our server was wonderful. We stopped by for lunch and had the filet mignon and the pecan crusted trout.

YO Ranch is a true Texas steakhouse and does what do steakhouses do best. Their portions are large and so are their epic pours of vino! The date-night like ambiance though could serve as a more fun celebratory evening! There is a New York strip but this should be renamed the Texas Strip because it comes from here and they are just a little different and of course larger. The zesty spicy fritters and in 4 so your party of 3 can fight over that 4th one! The chicken piccata is a nice little gem on the menu for those of you who need a break from the moo. And the antithesis of this would be the wild game portion of the menu : alligator sausage, buffalo and venison can all be ingested and lucky for you there is a platter you can order with this exact trio of wildness! The key lime pie is wonderful and yes you have room so definitely get that. Lastly, we had the honor of being welcomed by Chris one of the managers and hosted by the very kind, upbeat and wonderful Cesar Levario! !He is a genuine server and we loved how very attentive and knowledgeable he was. We also took our time with our meal which we think the food and its quality deserves this. So thank you, Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse for letting us enjoy as it was a long travel day and your reservation was our only commitment here in Dallas. We have been before and so glad to return over and over again as you approach your 30th anniversary!

Definitely in the convo about best steak house in Dallas. For me it bumps above the high-end competition because every element is close to perfect: food, service, price, ambiance, cocktails, and attention to detail throughout. Everything works here! My date and I split a NY Steak, potatoes, salad, and bacon wrapped venison appetizers and it was the perfect amount of food. Loved how they asked about preparation and schedule of bringing out items. They even clean/prep the table before every course of the meal. There's a wall of awards for a reason, can't wait to come back!

Ask the Community - Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse

Is the "buffalo" steak from an American bison?

Yes, we get it from Comanche Buffalo from Lawton Oklahoma

Are there gluten-free options? Gluten (even from soy, Worcestershire, or teriyaki sauces) can cause my wife problems.

Yes, The majority of the menu. Just tell the server, Tony

Do they have a kids menu or kids options?

I want to say no, but the meals can be divided between adult and child

Trying to plan a trip now. Would anyone consider this restaurant low key? We are okay with spending the money but don't want to be in a pretentious environment like other places I've read about for a great steak.

Wife and I ate there in shorts and t-shirts. Maybe a little under dressed but not turned away.

I see that the 38oz tomahawk ribeye is priced at market rate, does anyone know the ballpark/average price?

Tonight it was $99 and we were advised to expect 10oz of bone. I had the 20oz ribeye instead and it was flawless.

We sat at the table for two near the door which had great lighting, and it was really fun to people watch as pedestrians roamed outside. Our server recommended a few cocktails - I got the Limelight which was delicious and my friend got one of the clarified cocktails, which was also very tasty. Honestly the alcohol flavor was masked super well so they're very dangerous drinks! Will have to come by to try some of the others. Our server was super helpful explaining & coursing out the menu, and we got a bunch of items to share. First up we got the scallop aguachile, which was tart and spicy and super refreshing, and the salmon tartare which was creamy and decadent and came with shatteringly crisp wonton chips. Really excellent starters, and they made me want to come back and get the rest some time! Then we split the ahi tuna tostadas and the crab avocado tostadas, which come 2 per order. Hugo O. came over to ask if we were sharing and helpfully had them plated one each per plate so we could eat them more easily, and also brought over a chili pequín hot sauce to complement the tostadas. They were so good! I'll be dreaming about both the tostadas and the pequín sauce for a while. The ahi tuna was super fresh and went so well with the accompaniments, and the crab didn't get lost in the other flavors on that tostada. The crisp tortillas underneath also held up really well to each bite; I'm so used to tostadas shattering upon first taste but the structural integrity of Hugo's were super impressive. For our main we split the fish of the day, which was seared Hokkaido scallop atop a bed of corn risotto. This also came pre-split into two bowls so we didn't have to do it ourselves, which was a super nice touch. The scallops were cooked to perfection, super soft and tender with an incredible crust, and the corn risotto was super creamy and savory. Almost a little too salty for me with the amount of cheese, but still so good I almost licked the bowl clean. Seriously good food here - sad it's a bit of a trek from where I live but I can't wait to come back to try more of the menu!

I am from the Pacific Northwest and I love seafood. I've lived in Dallas for 3 1/2 years and have generally avoided it because anytime I've had it, its been disappointing. This is the first seafood place that's not a sushi place that I am obsessed with. It's a very small space, very intimate, can be a little bit loud at times depending on who's sitting next to you...but if you have the money and you're looking for quality seafood, this place is incredible. Perfect to celebrate a special occasion or a date night. highly recommend. service is great. We ordered the seafood tower and every single item on it was delicious. Definitely ask for some melted butter to go with your lobster. Im not big on poke but the poke was seasoned with sesame oil and was so fresh. The scallops were buttery and amazing. The oysters were the perfect size. Fresh? Not overly salty. The mignonette was perfect. This was the first meal I've been this excited about since i discovered otaru sushi...but other than that can't think of any other places where the food blew my mind and made my eyes roll back in my head. The thing is that seafood can be so tricky. The biggest part is the quality/freshness. Everything on the seafood tower was extremely simple, but it was also perfection. It was beautiful to look at as well.

After a long day in transit, all we wanted was something deeply satisfying, the kind of meal that feels like a reward. When my mother suggested Aunt Irene's Kitchen, there was no hesitation. She spoke of it with the reverence reserved for places that become part of your personal geography former neighborhood staples, the kind you measure other meals against. Years ago, when she lived nearby, this was her spot. And now, standing beside her in a line that stretched out the door, it was clear we weren't the only ones holding onto that sentiment. The queue moved with surprising ease, a quiet efficiency that felt almost practiced. Inside, the energy was unpretentious and steady. Our cashier, while not particularly warm, was brisk and knowledgeable answering questions with the kind of clarity that suggests confidence in the product more than performance. It felt like advice worth taking. And it was. The food arrived in its own time this is not a place for the impatient but what it lacked in speed, it more than made up for in flavor. Makes you feel like you're on a ship going deep sea fishing for fresh seafood. Teresa was the server I had. She was so sweet and broke everything down. They have happy hour on select food and beverage items from 12-6pm Monday through Friday, but go ALL DAY Sunday so this is the place to be. You're entertained the moment you walk in as they have an upbeat playlist for guests to sing/dance along to & also have some TV's throughout for those who want to stay in the know. Food was also really well prepared & served HOT. No complaints at all. As of now they also provide guests with a 10% off coupon if you share your experience with them on Facebook, IG, Google or Yelp so don't be afraid to take advantage. I'll definitely be back!
