We had a very enjoyable anniversary dinner here this week. Started with Happy Hours drinks and appetizers in the cozy bar with a fantastic bartender. The cocktails, wine and app were excellent. Then dinner with 2 very attentive servers who took great care of us on our special occasion. The NY strip was excellent and their twice baked potato was filled with gooey cheese, scallions and sour cream. We had one of the best chocolate cakes ever for dessert. The steak and potato soup had a lot of ingredients and a good amount of steak. The quality of the soup was thinner than expected. It has a decent flavor, but it's not seasoned enough. The 16 oz ribeye was almost half fat and was very thin. The bourbon demi glaze was cold and was too sweet for a sauce for steak. The side of broccoli was very undercooked and was hardly seasoned at all. The lobster mac & cheese had a very small hint of lobster, but it was overall OK. The baked potato had great toppings on top of it, but it was very undercooked and it was hard. The chocolate mousse was gritty and it somehow tasted like watered down chocolate. The margarita was a good size and was average, but still good. The rum cocktail with cherry liqueur was tasty and enjoyable. The drinks were our favorite part of the meal. Not only were we not greatly with a friendly welcome, it was 33* outside and not much warmer inside. I thought maybe it was closing soon and the host was like really you're coming in now? We decided to sit in the empty dining room. Only two other couples were in the restaurant at 1:45 in the afternoon. We did valentines here this year. For one because our son's name is Liam and we love a good steakhouse. Started off with the seared tuna appetizer it was amazing. We both ordered steak (which was not very good) However we had the most amazing server! I forget his name (as it was unique) but he told us he lived in Terrill (sp?) Texas. And we have lived in Dallas and I had a dear co worker who also lived in Terrell . He passed away a couple years ago. So glad he shared bc it made our night. The asparagus was breaded and tasted like a corn dog. It was so good. I went there to celebrate my friend's engagement, and I have to say, the service was nothing short of amazing! The food was pretty good, considering it's a new restaurant. I think the food will get even better with time. I really enjoyed whiskey sour drink (it had egg yolks in it). But I really enjoyed the calamari! It has a nice sweet and tangy sauce, so yummy! The crab cake was nice and meaty, but the blackened red snapper could use a little more flavor. My first visit here was a nice experience. I think our waiter was fairly new, but he was attentive. Our food came cooked to order and at the right temperature. I had the chicken and the flavors were very evident and the presentation was nice. Everyone else enjoyed their meals a nice place to have a date night couples meet up or a solo treat. I found the parking to be a little difficult because it is downtown. The manager did come to greet us and ask if we had any issues. I'm not even exaggerating when I say this was the best. meal. of. my. life. The smoked old fashioneds were the best I've ever had, so much so the whole table started ordering multiple rounds of them. The steaks were so flavorful and literally melted in your mouth. The whole table was silent because the food was so delicious. This place is such a gem! Coming from Houston, it's hard for me to be impressed by halal food as we have the best down there! This steak house is an incredible fine dining experience with a very extensive halal menu including various cuts of steak, lamb, and chicken. The ambiance is cozy and classic, reminds me of a steak house in NY with the chandeliers and tile ceiling. The waitress was quick and friendly. We went for my birthday and they gave us a huge piece of cake with a sparkler and a take home rose and mug! Cute touches! The quality of the food was great too! Definitely worth the price!! Horrible. This used to be the old terrible TGI Fridays. They must have kept the staff because today sucked. The food was average.The salads were a bad attempt at classics and the mac was watery and bland. What actual chef would ever allow this? The silverware and table were filthy. The stupidity didnt end here. They placed mccormick salt and pepper shakers on our table when we asked for pepper. I am not at a diner so not sure why a high end steak house would do this. The service was slow. The so called manager dressed like a goddamn slob and had an attitude. He tried to tell me what the standard was. He told me it is common practice to charge for extra plate ( not true). They want to charge a "split" fee for a steak cut family style. They add autogratuity without telling you for any party size. The place was dirty, tableware was worn and burn marks on the table. This was supposed to be a Christmas dinner, but turned out miserably. Never again. Finally, to sloppy manager who responded, "well, aren't you the food critic", I am now. It doesn't take a critic to notice a dump. Whoever owns this place has no business running any business, much less a steakhouse. I ate my entire meal on a side plate that my baked potato was served on. I doubt Al Bernaits or Nick & Sams would ever allow this. We also noticed the table next to us trying to open a bottle of wine themselves because their server was incompetent and forced the cork down. This place was a complete disaster and I am looking forward to it's certain permanent closure. By the way, I checked the food scores from the city of Dallas THEY SCORED AN 80. Had I done my research before, I would never have booked here.Note to the owner, I am filing a complaint with the Texas OAG, consumer protection division for the unauthorized and deceptive practice of adding gratuity without notifying guests first. read more

This place sits somewhere between Texas Roadhouse and a high end steakhouse but the food quality is more the former while the prices are the latter. The steak was good and well prepared but everything else felt like it was microwaved, boiled, or fried from frozen. Terrible experience :-( Called to make sure they had gluten free options, were told they do, arrived to be told the only option is salmon (my son doesn't eat salmon). We had already ordered drinks, told them we had to leave because there was nothing for my son to eat. Manager came over to apologize for the misunderstanding (very nice) said sorry we still have to charge you for your untouched drinks (not so nice) and he'll let the staff know not to give false gluten free options over the phone again. Our server, Kevin, asked us how our night was going and whether we were there for a special occasion. We were! We were there for our 2nd anniversary and to our surprise, the staff brought us each a glass of champagne to celebrate. That was nice. The food was great too. We ordered steak and mac, and honestly, it was cooked to perfection. Kevin stayed on top of it all night, keeping drinks full and stopping in every so often to check on us. Though we were there for a later dinner, we never felt rushed. After the main course, we received another surprise - a generous slice of chocolate cake! I'd go back just for the cake. We came here for Easter lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the calming atmosphere on such a busy brunch day. Our server, Elton, was absolutely incredible and so knowledgeable about the food and drink menus. He was very courteous and had a remarkable ability to connect with us. He made it feel like we were dining with family. Outside of the great services the food is some of the best my family and I have had. My stepmother has several severe food allergies and the staff was so accommodating with the extra requests and made sure everything was prepared perfectly for her. Went with a group of 10 on a Monday night. The place was totally empty, so they were able to accommodate us without issue. We ordered a large variety of drinks and appetizers and entrees. The drinks were well mixed well. The presentation of food was good. The taste of the food was great! The place was really romantic (low lighting)...to the point where we had to use our camera flashlights to view the menu. It was more of an amusement than an annoyance. I think there was music playing, but we were actively talking, so I can't be sure. Going with the group allowed me to taste more than I would have by myeloma or on a date--so I feel comfortable saying that this is a good restaurant. I imagine that it's probably hard to get into on the weekends, so glad we went on a Monday. read more

Service was top tier we love the old Hollywood mood ambiance. However, the pleasantries ended there. The airline chicken with dirt rice and veggies was underwhelming. The chicken was tiny and dry, the veggies had NO seasoning, and the dirty rice lacked flavor. Went today around 3pm to find an empty restaurant. The ambience was nice, and the restaurant was clean and welcoming. Now to the good part. OMG y'all missing out on some delicious great priced meals. I would give ZERO Stars if it were available! Went to The Liam's Steakhouse for Valentine Dinner. This was a preset menu, which was fine. We had reservations and our booth was not ready so we sat at the bar to have a cocktail while we waited. We sat there for 10 minutes before we were acknowledged and another 5 before our drink order was taken. Waited for our drinks for another 10 minutes and the host came up to us and said your booth is ready. We informed the host we ordered drinks and she said she would let the bartender know we were going to our booth. We were sat at our booth and our waitress did not come to the table for another 15 minutes. She asked us what we wanted to drink and we explained we had order drinks and still did not have them. She said let me go check. She was gone another 10 minutes and came back with no drinks and had to tell her again what we wanted. I did not have any silverware and my husband did so he motioned for a gentleman who was greeting tables and advised him I did not have any silverware. The man said I will check and walked off. He did not say I am sorry, let me take care of it or anything. We finally got our drinks and immediately our waitress asks what kind of salad and appetizer do you want. Mind you while we have been sitting here for a good 45 minutes or so since entering this establishment, we listened to other wait staff great their patrons, ask them what drink they wanted, if they wanted water and offered two different types, and explained the menu to them! We were NEVER asked any of these questions. Anyway, my husband asked the waitress if he could get ranch dressing instead of the balsamic and she said yes. I asked if I could get the salad with blue cheese and she said I will have to check! Mind you there was a wedge salad offered with blue cheese! I said nevermind, I will take the caesar salad. The caesar salad came out with large wedge slices of lettuce and not like my husbands who had regular lettuce. She then came back after 20 minutes with our salad and our appetizer at the same time! Then after we finish our salad and appetizer she comes back and asks what dinner would you like. My husband order the ribeye and upgraded to the Wagu. I ordered the chilean sea bass. She takes our order to the back and another woman comes out to ask my husband how he would like his steak cooked! Our waitress did not even ask. After another 10 minutes our waitress comes back and asks if we would like bread while we wait for our main course! Really!!!! It then took another 25 minutes for our dinner. The Ribeye was NOT Wagu. It was a regular Ribeye and you had to pay an additional $40.00 to $45.00 to upgrade for Wagu! The twice baked potatoe was NOT a twice baked potatoe. It was chunky and hard. We then were offered desert wherein we took it to go! The margaritas were very sour....we love margaritas, but these were the worst. We ordered one each and thought ok maybe the next one will be better.....noooooo...I could not even finish have of mine! Our dinner ended up costing us of $400.00! We could have gone to any other upscale steak place and had a fantastic dinner, exceptional service and paid just as much! We will NEVER come back to this establishment, nor will we recommend to our friends or work colleagues (who by the way all work in Downtown Dallas). Oh! I did call yesterday and requested a manager or owner call me. I never received a call! This tells you how much they care about their food, service, or you! Ok so this was their first or second full week of being open. They had to compete with another place that just opened on the other side of downtown...see my review of that place. I walked in early on a Saturday evening...around 5pm. So the first thing that struck me is that they didn't change the entry vestibule of this place....you see, this was a TGI Fridays restaurant that closed about 3 years prior. The "F" is still on the doors...door handles actually...and I immediately thought...why would y you change that?? Also the doors were the standard glass fast-casual style of most Chili's, Applebee's, etc...really think they've got to change that entrance up. I was greeted immediately and went to the bar. I was given a food menu and a wine list...I know they have a cocktail menu...but I had to ask for one...that was odd as I was sitting AT the bar....not a good start. Here's one star gone....bartender was a young female...seemed extremely timid...almost scared to talk to me....I strained to hear her and I was the only person in the bar. I ordered a drink and she made the wrong drink! Yes...one person at the bar...and she got it wrong. I'll give her a bit of props for recognizing she made the wrong drink as she set it down...but dude! She actually started getting a bit warmer but almost like a flirty/awkward way...so it didn't really matter at that point. Final note on the bar...minor but odd...my glass of water was served in a basic beverage glass...everyone else at the velar after me was served water in wine style glasses....again just odd. I ordered an appetizer of "onion pedals". They have a photo of them in their website....golden, shredded Parmesan, thick....what I got was thin, barely cooked, broken apart onion rings. See photos...very misleading and disappointing. I ordered the "Prime Texas" ribeye and truffle fries. The fries were like frozen steak fries with cheese and spice dropped on them...boring and fake. The steak was basic... over salted...I ordered medium rare but it was closer to rare and also boring....I can grill a better one at home. Not worth the price. I was thinking of dessert and asked the bartender...while I appreciate the honesty....it was disappointing that she had zero knowledge of the menu items and recommended the pound cake tower because she was "interested" in seeing what it was. lol I took her up on this....while it LOOKED great...the pound cake was just too hard...it was obviously recently thawed...the sauce had an awful sour aftertaste that was just too much to stomach...after three bites...I sent it back. While I could've given 3 stars just to understand the newness of it....the final issue was a manager stopping by...after I sent the dessert back...he asked if I needed anything...I said no and he was gone just as quickly as he arrived...no question of how everything was or if I enjoyed the meal or service...cold and useless check-in. Wow! What a phenomenal dinner. I picked this restaurant on a whim and it was a great decision! Unfortunately, I messed up our OpenTable reservation, but they politely seated us at the bar until they could get us a perfect table to celebrate my husband's birthday! The drinks were fantastic and my husband was thrilled with the bourbon selection! They gave us time for a delicious cocktail and seated us at the time of our original reservation. Our server, Juan, was amazing! And they pulled out all the stops, including A lovely handwritten note, coffee, mug, gift, and firecracker birthday dessert! The ribeye steak was phenomenal and so was the crab salad! Things were running a little slow but we appreciated not feeling rushed and having time to enjoy our bottle or wine and visit. Have been to Liams' for drinks, lunch, and dinner (not at the same time!) In interior is beautiful and very well done, giving the space an cozy, high-end, and luxurious feel. The bar stools are sturdy and comfortable, booths are intimate and tables by the window offer an excellent view! The yucca fries are awesome, and the portions are not overwhelming.
