These guys have been around a long time. I have always been excited about the idea of an indie punk rock cholo gag gift store in my neighborhood. They have always been a very unique staple to the area, that is untill Soap Plant/La Luz /Wacko (the grandaddy of fabulous gift stores on the Eastside) moved back down the street. . Obviously, both stores are wonderful,and it is always good to support the indy guys. In the past few years YQue had to change their focus to survive. They are now the kings of hilarious retro and socio political t-shirts. Their shirts are always a hoot, and are reasonably priced. Their employees are always really friendly and usually playing some interesting alternative music. The owner is really nice too. Support these guys, so they can hire all the displaced alternative kids to make non sweat shop t-shirts. Hurray for Y Que! read more

pretty fun store- tshirts are around $16~$20- a lot of shirts made me giggle - they had some cute stationery items (mostly japanese) and they about doubled the prices on those so that wasn't cool- something that's about $4 would be sold at $8 for- But I did end up getting a black shirt that says "everything is horrible" on a beat up car- how emo! I say I would go back to get a joke shirt sometime - I was gonna buy a hancock park shirt then the accompanied nude male statue print prevented me from it lol oh well read more

This place is not that great..Wacko is bigger and has way better selections..the products they sold literally had dust on them..they sold a Tokidoki journal for $12.00 and I only got it at my favorite store at Japan LA for $10.00..anyhow..there was'nt anyone there until I saw the big mirrored surveillance frame..workers were upstairs fiddling..I wanted to buy at least something so I bought an eraser of a strawberry cake with other desserts..chocolate cake..and..a cake filled with chocolate wrapped in a green leaf buritto style..cute thing..the bag to put the misc..in was a popcorn bag that said King Size..Popcorn Fresh Ready to eat..Creative...otherwise parking is metered..and if you're allergic to dust pop a Benadryl before heading over there.. read more

This place rocks! Even though I'm a bit more conservative than most people in Hollywood and this place couldn't be more liberal in it's approach, I still enjoy it. You gotta be able to make fun of your own kind and Y-Que does this. I totally bought the "I Hate the Environment" shirt. Along with a "Writer's Strike" shirt in the logo of Lucky Strike cigarettes. But the real gold with Y-Que is the Los Angeles neighborhood shirts. They have shirts with almost every single neighborhood in Los Angeles printed on them so you can represent. I snagged a Sherman Oaks since I represent S.O. Anyways it's a fun store and the owner is cool as shit. Check it out it's right next to the Dresden, which I think I might review next. read more

I ordered about 200 shirts from Y-Que online about a week ago. We needed the shirts by this weekend, and, after scouring the Internet, we decided to try Y-Que. We knew we were taking a risk with a new service, but Y-Que turned out to be amazing. The shirts came early and the shirts were of high-quality. The gentleman I spoke with (Bill, the owner) was friendly and helpful about getting everything ready and handling a rush order. I initially sent designs to them last Thursday. He made a graphic proof for me the same day. It was very easy to talk to him both over the phone and through email. We were able to get everything finalized in just two days. The order/printing started on Monday (we got even got a proof on a physical tshirt) and the shirts arrived this Thursday. They look great! Summary: Very reliable, FAST, and cheap tshirts! Wow. This place was the most boring store I have ever visited. First of all, this clothing store definitely isn't for women, its more for men who enjoy wearing funny/lamely ironic/i pretend to be a political activist/i wish i could be cool tshirts. They have spencer's gifts-esque items as well. The staff didn't bother to greet me when I came in, and as a matter of fact, I felt extremely uncomfortable as one of the staff members was giving me the stink eye. What a waste of time. The first time I ordered from yQue, I had no problems. It was a small, simple order, and although shipping was a little steep, it covered USPS Priority which was pretty nice. No beef. The second time, however, I ordered the same stuff as before except in a different size (no printing or anything special. extra large tshirts in black, please) plus a few blank shirts from other brands to try them out. This is supposed to be a big warehouse operation right, with.. ya know.. lots of shirts in stock.. right? Well, after 15 days without shirts or a shipment email or any sort of courtesy contact, I called to check on the status of my order. The gentleman said that it was on hold because I had ordered from separate companies and it apparently takes a while to get them in from different places. I can understand that, but 2 weeks already and we're still almost another week out? Why are these items even on your website if you have to have them made in Hong Kong and sailed over here first? Ok, so if you're a player in the t-shirt business, you're probably getting shipments every few days, right? Replenishing stocks and filling back-orders. Keeping supply on hand to meet demand. Basic retail stuff. But apparently, 15 days pass and the bulk of my order won't be in till "probably 3 or 4 days" and the other part? "Later than that." Sweet, thanks for the update, bro. To be fair, he wasn't rude. Nor was he apologetic. The attitude was, "this is the nature of the business." Well, supply issues are your problem buddy, not everyone else's. You don't put a deposit down on your Fruity Pebbles at the grocery store and hope the warehouse in Michigan can make it happen for you sometime this month. I don't know what they DO stock, but it sure isn't plain basic t-shirts in XL. If you don't mind ordering from a company that will then turn around and order those items from somewhere else, then go with yQue. If you expect a business that accepts your order to have the items in stock or very close to it, find another wholesaler. read more

My review is pretty much the same as the other customers who have tried ordering from y-que's online site, and if I could give this site a zero I would. I placed my online order April 17th. I was sent an e-mail confirming my purchase with a link that I could use to supposedly track my order, though when I clicked on the link there was never any information about when or even if my shirt had been shipped. I patiently waited almost 1.5 weeks for some kind of confirmation that my t-shirt had been shipped. I finally called customer service on April 26th and was told that because I had ordered a "special order shirt" (though apparently the only thing that made it special was the fact that it was a women's medium- the t-shirt color and the lettering were identical to the image on the site) it apparently wasn't in the warehouse. I was reassured that it would be shipped the following day. I still haven't received my t-shirt. Luckily, I paid with a credit card and have contested the charges. And why are customers being charged such an exorbitant amount of shipping and handling ($5.50 for a $13.00 shirt, in my case) if this guy can't even get this stuff sent out to his customers in a reasonable amount of time? Dude needs to either hire more help or shut down his website just concentrate on his Los Feliz store! read more

So disappointed by this store. worst customer service ever. i'm a local and bought many items from there over the years. 3 weeks ago I bought 7 t-shirts and ordered 7 more with the girl at the counter. I followed up with a phonecall two days later and spoke to Bill who said my order would be taken care of, should i send an email with all the details. Sent a detailed email with photos attached, didn't hear back. whenever i called after that no-one picked up and the answer machine was full. Finally yesterday spoke to Bill again to find out they had completely ignored my email. Furthermore the designs i requested apparently were not printed anymore - how about telling me that when i ordered the damn t-shirts in the first place?! Their excuse was 'work overload'. work overload?! i'm all for supporting local stores but this one doesn't deserve anyone's custom if that's the way they prepared to treat their customers. read more

Ok... This is a cool store. Unique shirts, toys, and other trinkets. I would rate it a 4 star, but my online purchasing experience wasn't that great. I ordered a custom made shirt that needed to be shipped to AZ. It took them almost a month for them to ship it out. I get it, it was custom made. I have been coming here for years, a long time ago I got a green and white baseball style T that said "Chinese food" on it(I am half Korean half Irish) and people really admired that one(Annoyingly, but I loved it). I have also gotten amazing belt buckles and fun gifts for friends here. Today I went in after maybe 3 years and got a "K Town" shirt in the "neighborhoods" section. If you grew up or represent a neighborhood in LA go HERE for shirts! I almost got the "Free Lindsey" muscle shirt with her mugshot in the five dolla bin but declined(semi regreting it). So when checking out the guy was like- "Damn! I just ran out of free gifts! I was like "what???" he goes - I have beverages- "Do you want vodka????" It's 1pm and I was almost tempted, lol..however- I declined. I love this place. GO here. Make mad love to the T industry. read more

Another Los Feliz/Silverlake mainstay, Y-Que is one of those quintessential Vermont Avenue shops that just screams what the neighborhood is about. Hipster? Yep. Snarky? You bet. Boring? Never. Well, almost never...some of the other commentators here are right, the "FREE _____" shirts have seen their day and should go. HOWEVER...much of the other apparel Y-Que sells are full of creativity and attitude, and it's an even cooler fact that they print up their own shirts on-site. They have several themes in their shirt lines, actually...they've got their celeb mug-shot line, their neighborhood line, their retro media line (old cameras, tape machines, etc.), their "designed by the artist's little kid" line (very cute), and others. One of my current favorite shirts comes from Y-Que--it's a "Los Angeles" shirt done up in Led Zeppelin-style lettering. They also have a wide range of knick-knacks, accessories and various kitschy hipster-oriented paraphenalia. But seriously, don't let the hipster slant throw you, cause you're gonna find stuff here that you never would in the mall. Oh, and Popkiller is practically right next door, so between the two stores you can load up on cool fashion that will probably make you the envy of just about anyone under 30. read more
