Uni, unagi, toro, seared trio A
    Ada H.

Was craving sushi and wanted to try a different spot since we always go katsumidori. Though the me u is not as extensive as other sushi spots, the quality is super fresh. Ayumi was our waitress and she was so kind and attentive. Everything came out swiftly even though it was just one sushi chef working at 5 PM. Seared Trio A- seared engawa, seared toro, seared salmon. Every single nigiri was buttery and was the perfect amount of smokiness from the sear. Uni- most of the uni was fresh but I could taste some pieces had a bit more of an oceanic taste. Miso butterfish- buttery and flakey. The miso marinade was not overwhelming. Kileau roll- creamy California roll with delicious seared salmon. Really enjoyed this spot and cant wait to be back.

Near the beginning of Kalakaua Ave. before the shops, it is valet only parking for the restaurant in a hotel. As with most good sushi places, seating is limited at the counter so we made reservations in advance. They do accept walk ins for regular dine-in seating. We ordered the omakase for both of us and enjoyed the evening at the counter with Chef. She is from Japan and worked in California before she moved to Hawaii. We appreciated her expertise and enjoyed each and every serving that she graciously prepared before us. All the sashimi was fresh. The rice was perfectly seasoned. The ratio of fish to rice was also nicely proportioned. She even presented a few dishes with generous gold flakes. This establishment is BYOB and the staff are appreciative to partake when offered a pour :) A reasonable $230 before tip for two adults, this was a lovely evening and we may very well return. Thank you Chef and team!

Unreal! A perfect meal. Super nice, authentic Japanese dining experience. The fish was fresh and delicious. The specials were amazing. And the Wagyu seared sashimi was probably the best steak I've ever had. New favorite restaurant. AND FREE VALET PARKING. We'll be back soon.

Very convenient parking by the valet, authentic Japanese sensei preparing the food. Atmosphere is touristy and a little Waikiki-strip cheesy. Yes was Japanese style service but the kind that is very ridged and not balanced out by the kind and pleasant zenny service that we really appreciate from high level Japanese restaurants. A little more insertion of " aloha" might be helpful.

We've now been to Ya!!Sushi a few times, and it's quickly become one of our favorite spots in Honolulu. It's a small, intimate space that really elevates the whole experience - especially if you can grab seats at the counter (which we always do). The omakase is consistently fantastic, with beautifully prepared sushi that highlights both quality and craftsmanship. You can really tell the chef takes pride in every piece. What keeps us coming back, though, is the combination of incredible food and genuinely warm, attentive service. The chef and staff make you feel welcome every time, and the cozy setting makes it feel like a special night out without being over the top. Bonus: it's BYOB, which makes the experience even more fun and personal - bring a favorite bottle and enjoy an incredible meal to match. If you're looking for a memorable sushi experience, this place absolutely delivers.

Something is going on in a small sushi restaurant in Waikiki. It's like one of my favorite movies - east side sushi. In this place is a sushi chef that makes affordable omakase, has loyal followers and makes delicious sushi and sashimi! It's BYOB and yes, I grabbed a nice bottle of sake from Fujioka's and brought beer too! The service is fantastic and the sashimi was so fresh and good! The Leahi sushi roll was so good. I mean everything I ordered was great. It was so good I ordered two at times! The tako wasabi was so good and tasty! We shared sake with the chef and it was like Cheers in a small sushi bar in Waikiki. FREE VALET makes this place a winner!!!! As one of the locals said "don't take my reservation". They might be right. After this I may not be able to get in. Yes, I love this place. My wife loved it as well - it was her idea to go to this place. She's picking winners on Yelp!!!!'

Took my mother to this new sushi spot in waikiki, the sushi was really fresh and the price was okay. The servers and chief were primarily japanese, I think, really nice and welcoming when we entered the restaurant. The restaurant is small so go with smaller groups, otherwise you may need the whole restaurant space. If I recall correctly, theres about 20 to 25 seats in there.

In the last three month my husband and I went there at least 5 times. Everything is fresh. Sushi chef is super nice and all the sushi she makes you can tell she put her heart in. It's casual and BYOB. I will keep on coming back. Very cozy small sushi hole in the wall feeling.

Location at the Luana hotel is low key & easy access in the beginning of Waikiki which is nice. Walked in a greeted by the friendly staff and chef. Seated with reservations and BYOB! Omakase varieties were very good in combination and the price point is great too for the excellent quality! I just let the chef decide and she did a wonderful job!

Sushi and service were amazing! We came before our reservation and were seated immediately. I had the seared trio A which came with salmon, toro, and engawa (halibut fin!): so delicious! Husband had Ya!!Sushi Shaka, which he enjoyed and shared. This little restaurant is apparently the more casual version of the downtown location. Making reservations on the website did not work; making reservations via Yelp did work. Some parties were able to walk in. Someone brought his own whiskey. A party of five were seated at the sushi bar.

The Freshest Sushi I've Ever Had The sushi here is on a completely different level! The kind of freshness that makes you pause after the first bite because you can't believe fish can taste this clean and delicate. The tuna sashimi deserves its own paragraph. It practically melted the moment it hit my tongue, buttery and rich without being heavy, with that subtle ocean sweetness you only get when the fish is truly top‑tier!

There are meals one enjoys. Meals one admires. Meals one respectfully documents, notes the flavor balance of, and later describes using words like "elegant" and "well-executed." And then there are meals that rock your world. This was one of them. Kaiten sushi, or conveyor belt sushi, is a casual, affordable Japanese dining style invented in 1958 where plates of sushi rotate on a motorized belt passing diners, allowing them to select dishes directly. Here at Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera, it's not the typical catwalk of pre-made maki rolls, nigiri, and other offering. You order off a kiosk and then it is fast-tracked to your table via sushi belt. Here at Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera, you are granted the ability to try their Edomae-style sushi for a more affordable price. Edomae-style sushi is a traditional Tokyo cuisine originating in the 1820s, featuring seafood, often cured, marinated, or simmered, served atop rice seasoned with red vinegar (akasu). It focuses on enhancing fish flavor through technique rather than just raw freshness, historically acting as fast food for 19th-century Edo residents. That said, dare I say the best meal I had during my stay on Oahu? I DARE! This was an excellent place suggested by Randy S. I really can't tell you all we had because Randy took charge but every bite? Certified bangers. Not one bad bite had. I miss seeing the sushi chef in person. The sushi that I had was delicious and the preparations were unique (to me) the pieces were smallish, but so yummy. I would have ordered more but I was not very assertive and everyone wanted the iPad . Most of the nigiri orders were only one at the price point I am used to paying for two and I prefer the experience of sharing. My husband at the other table sampled more than I did. Deep fried Octopus and Toro, I had Yellow Tail and Carpacio, sample two rolls. Big surprise, the French fries were outstanding. The check worked out to about 50 pp. I think that was mostly my husband who enjoyed an array of dishes. As mentioned in other reviews, the bill stacks up quickly. I given them 4 stars for uniqueness, mostly.

After walking around, the hostess asked if we had a reservation. I gave her my name, but she said we didn't have one, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. She then explained that our reservation was actually at their sister restaurant around the other side of the building. We went over there and found that it was primarily a sushi restaurant, which wasn't really what we were looking for. We had expected more of an izakaya-style experience, so we canceled the reservation and returned to the original restaurant. Once seated, the service was good and our server was attentive throughout the meal. One thing that was a little confusing was that sushi and sashimi had to be ordered from the sister restaurant, even though we were dining in the other restaurant. The food was brought over and served to us without any issues, and there were no problems with the bill, but it took us a while to understand how the two restaurants operated together. We ordered several dishes, including chicken skin wrapped gyoza, crab tempura, an assorted sashimi platter, a cream cheese and fish roe appetizer served with toast, an egg dish topped with fish roe, chicken karaage, and the miso butterfish. The highlights for me were the chicken karaage, miso butterfish, and gyoza. I enjoyed them enough to order another round of the gyoza and chicken. That said, many of the dishes leaned toward the sweeter side of Japanese cuisine, which just isn't my personal preference. If you enjoy those flavors, your experience may be different. Overall, the food was good, the service was solid, and there were a few standout dishes. The confusion with the reservation, entrance setup, and relationship between the two restaurants got the evening off to an awkward start, but the meal improved once we were seated. I'm not really a Japanese food person, so four stars is probably the highest rating I could realistically give a Japanese restaurant. With that in mind, I thought they did a good job, and there were a few dishes I would consider ordering again.

Seriously, it's easy to enjoy their bowls, sushi sets, or bentos anytime and anyplace. We've got a passion for this place. Here's how this love affair started...I discovered Domo when a friend invited me for some sushi and sips at her place. I was amazed at the beautiful platter of sushi that accompanied our sake and wine. My friends are the best hosts! I devoured the bombs, nigiris and rolls (in between sips!). Everything was simply delicious! Fast forward a few months, I order a couple sushi sets to host a poolside, golden-hour birthday get together at my other friend's home. (I know, you want to be part of this squad, right?!). Anyway, using the online order system is a snap! My hubby went in to pick up the sushi and said they were slammed but our sushi sets were ready to go. This time we ordered some ikura because the hubby and my bestie are big fans. Both agree it was fresh and fantastic! And the garlic set with the flash-seared fish and a hint of mayo is a MUST-try. We also ordered a California roll for my friend's aunt who is not really a sushi fan. She delighted in several pieces and even enjoyed the nigiri from the garlic set. Total convert! After enjoying the platters and sets, we had to try the bentos and bowls. This time it's just us and the pup at the park. The bentos provide a great variety and comes with miso soup. The hubby really likes the shrimp tempura with ahi and salmon nigiri and ahi poke. It's a steal at less than $20. I'm a bowl girl myself and like the spicy tempura. The tempura is cooked crisp yet tender. The spicy ahi poke combined with the creamy crab salad and the crunchy ocean salad delights all my tastes buds. It's truly an adventure in finding the perfect bite--and there are so many in this bowl! I also love the seared salmon bowl. It is melt-in-your-mouth goodness. I add the fried onions for some texture. You know a place is top-notch when you can feel confident that anything off their menu will satisfy your cravings.
