    Salt and Pepper Shrimp

Came here for Father's Day for lunch and there was no wait time. It's pretty decent Chinese food, the flavors were good but found the pork belly and shrimp a bit too salty. I wasn't expecting the halibut dish to be in a soup. Most sichuan dishes I order are usually in a dry pot. It was still good nevertheless. I would come again and request less salt because the prices were reasonable and there's a good variety of dishes. The interior wasn't anything aesthetic but thats usually a telltale sign that an Asian restaurant is good.

Took my daughter there for fried flounder, calamari, & double cooked pork belly--still amazing. Ordered take away--fried flounder, calamari, lamb 2 ways--again, delicious. Restaurant moved from the corner to the next space over. Much of the same staff as pre-pandemic. Omakase each Thursday night--can't wait to abandon my kids and feast! The online menu is more expensive than calling in, but we are just happy to support a local business that consistently has fantastic food. The car still smells like the lamb & aubergine in garlic sauce from take away 2 nights ago, so I have to stop myself from ordering it again.

Pita Bread Soaked in Lamb Soup (羊肉泡馍) ($14) - aka paomo. It's good! Comes with mushrooms and wood ear

Really wish I could leave a higher rating. My first visit here was amazing but my second was very disappointing. I recommend the items on the Noodle Bar Special menu, which has many Xi'an dishes. I think the texture of the hand-pulled noodles is pretty good here, not outstanding but definitely more elastic than the noodles at Lan Ramen in Princeton. They also have a separate Chinese menu, though not all the items I've tried from it have been great. Highly recommend: -Spicy Chicken with Bone w. Handmade Noodles ($14) - aka "big plate chicken". It's good, and the portion is big! Way better than the version at Lan Ramen. -Pita Bread Soaked in Lamb Soup ($14) - aka paomo. Good! Comes with mushrooms and wood ear. Don't forget to mix in the chili sauce and pickled garlic! Sort of recommend: -Chinese Hamburger with Pork ($7) - aka roujiamo. It's ok - the bread is a bit dense, and I found the meat slightly dry (it's not as fatty as at some other places). -Xi'an Liang Pi ($7) - aka cold-skinned noodles. Pretty good. Comes with wheat gluten and cucumber, and sauces to dip in. Ok: -Sauteed Kidney ($13) - pretty standard stir fry. I liked the addition of wood ear. Avoid: -Sauteed Mackerel w Corn Cake ($14) - sauce is way too sweet. There's barely any mackerel; the dish is mostly (dryish) corn cakes. I also really want to try the biang biang noodles with ginger scallion sauce (aka hot oil noodles) and the cumin lamb handmade noodles, but haven't had the chance to yet. I definitely plan to revisit and hopefully leave a more positive update.

Let me get one thing straight. Shan Shan Noodles doesn't care about this review. They don't care if…read moreyou come. Why? Because they are busy AF. They are buzzing. We went for the first time Sunday at like 3pm? Full. Take out orders flying out the door. It's a cute place. Standard strip mall aesthetic. But they do have a window where you can see them hand pulling the noodles. That's right, hand pulling the noodles which is the main attraction. The food is from the North Western part of China near Pakistan so there are some Indian influences like their Cumin lamb and pulled noodles one of their most popular dishes. But I'm getting ahead of myself. With my vegetarian wife who as usual ruins everything by insisting we order vegetarian appetizers. Scallion pancakes were delicious. No pictures because we ate them immediately. Pan fried dumpling. 9 of them. That's a big portion. And it was like 9-10 bucks? They make their own dumpling wrappers, their own dipping sauces. Dumplings were very good. You could really taste the vegetables. Focused on the quality of the ingredients. My wife had the hand pulled noodles in hot oil. Marked spicy it was American spicy. Did not blow your head off. O enjoyed them. They give you a pair of scissors. Because it's one long noodle. Do not use them on your birthday. More on that later. I had the aforementioned cumin lamb and pulled noodles. I liked it but it was overwhelmingly cumin flavored which obviously is the point of cumin lamb. I'm not saying over seasoned I'm just saying it announced itself as this is cumin lamb. Period. We also had bubble tea! How fun is that? My wife had taro which they made with non dairy milk for her. I had pomegranate with exploding bubbles. Never had those before. Also super fun. They did not explode in an American way or even a Chinese way as both countries let's face it are pretty well known for making things explode. No in a pleasant way. Waitress was delightful we had obviously a long conversation about the food and the restaurant. The scissors are for Americans who share their food. In China you would eat the noodles slurp them without cutting them because eating long noodles especially on your birthday is supposed to promote a long life. We did not learn this until after cutting my wife's noodles. It was her birthday. I will miss her but also look forward to meat based appetizers. One door closes and all that. They also own the bakery a few doors down. Very light chiffon style cakes. Not too sweet. Chocolate Oreo cake. I asked if that was very traditional. Oh how we laughed at my hilarious joke.

The dumplings were flavorful, hot, and perfectly steamed. They were definitely the highlight of our meal. Next came the beef pancake which was crunchy, chewy, had excellent flavor, but slightly heavy on the sauce. Lastly, was the braised beef noodle soup. The broth's flavor was on the mild side, whilst relying on the spice's heat to shine as the primary flavor. The beef was also mild, but especially tender. There was also a good amount of proteins in the soup and the hand pulled noodles were perfectly thick and chewy. Overall it was a great dish for a chilly night out.

That is what you get when you get great eats at Terakawa Ramen. As you enter, you'll notice the wall murals with the chefs on one side and the opposite wall has anime customers slurping their ramen. Yes, it's perfectly fine to make those loud slurping noises to show your appreciation for a great bowl of ramen. Here's what was ordered: - Signature Terakawa Ramen - 4.5/5 stars Boasted of rich, lovingly homemade pork bone soup with a good amount of sliced roast pork, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, ginger, scallions, and a jammy egg. The straight thin noodles were al dente. They maintained their texture in the broth, brilliantly. The broth was deep and flavorful. - Pork belly Donburi - 4.5/5 stars The juicy tender pork belly was plentiful, sliced perfectly as their we're not too thick nor paper thin. Their flavor was rich, savory with a balance of sweetness from the soy dashi sauce. Elegantly layered in top of a humongous bowl of seasoned rice, along with a sprinkle of scallions, pickled radishes, and sesame seeds. The photo on their menu does not do it justice. I would have loved a jammy egg to be included to bring the dish to the next level. - Gyoza - 3.5/5 stars 5 pieces of Pan-fried gyoza dumplings with their dumpling sauce. I would prefer them to have been fried a bit more. The balance between their pork and cabbage was even. They were delightfully light in both taste and texture. The service was very good. Both Willie, the owner, and a charming waiter named Sung served us. Sung kept coming over checking in to attest our cups were full, and if we needed anything else. I was told the have two locations: Philadelphia and the one we're dining at, Princeton Junction, NJ. Both locations serve homemade recipes from the Kumamoto region of Japan. If ramen is your love language, this place will absolutely speak to your soul.
