    What's that? Yaks? Ok!

Food was amazing! Service was good and a typical very casual joint with all the sellables of Nepal. The lady serving us was from Nepal and very pleasant and kind. Yea, I will be going here now that I know there is Indian cuisine nearby. Not sure what to order but will Learn with time. All excellent food here. remember to support your local grubberies so we both don't starve...

On Friday, I visit Yak with my family. We called in our order for take out. The restaurant was about 20 mins from our home and was ready when we got there. When I got their, one of their staff members greeted us with our meal and checked me out. In the past, I ordered their "Honey Chicken," however they were out so I opted for the Spicy Butter Chicken. I pair it with their Cheese and Garlic Naan. My meal came with rice to eat along the butter chicken. Overall their to-go service was phenomenal but did not seem to have a large dine-in crowd for a Friday night. Would eat this again and recommend to those wanting to try Nepalese Cuisine.

Filthy floors, unattended tables, no handwashing by server

Do not eat here unless you see the inspection score on the wall to have changed to a 95 or higher. The filth cannot be healthy. The chicken? In my guest's dinner was so unusual that they thought it was the skin of a potato! Bathroom was vile! I got a look inside the kitchen, and I've never seen anything as filthy as that in my life!

The food is quintessential Nepali "soul" food. Everything tasted amazing. Don't miss the veg momos ( dumplings). The service was excellent as well. Never had I, even in my wildest imagination, dreamt of eating momos in Alabama but here I am.

Alright--"Taste of India"... where do I even start?…read more If you already love Indian food, you won't be disappointed. And if you've never tried it before, this is absolutely a place to start. One big misconception is that everything is super spicy--that's not the case at all. The flavors are rich and layered, and if you do want heat, they're more than happy to turn it up for you. When you go, take a minute to ask what's on special and have them explain some of the dishes. It makes a huge difference. Not everything is the same, and trying different options is part of the experience--you'll enjoy your meal a lot more if you lean into that. I've been both during the day and at night. If you go during the day, hit the buffet--it's the best way to sample a wide variety of dishes and figure out what you like. At night, ask your server for recommendations--they'll steer you in the right direction based on your taste. Some of my personal favorites? The Tandoori Chicken, Lamb Chops, and honestly anything with goat. If you want a standout, try the Amritsari Mutton Rara--it's a big favorite of mine. There's a lot more on the menu than I can list here, so check out their website and take your time looking it over before you go. And when you stop in, tell them the old biker dude--"1/2 Time" or "Phatt Panda"--sent you. It won't get me anything, but they'll know I meant it when I said I'd come back and leave an honest review.

We were out and wanted something different for dinner…read more Haven't had authentic food from india in awhile. They usually import the spices which makes the food taste so good when seasoned with the spices , they leave a good taste in your mouth. I was hoping for that experience for my Mom. She has never had Indian food I wanted her to try it & enjoy something different. They didn't have garlic nann. They had no nann! The woman could not speak English so her son told us they only have pita bread. No nann??? I did think it was odd I didn't see it on the menu. We should have left but we stayed. Well the last time we had buttered chicken it was red at a different restaurant. This was not like we have had, so different. My mom made the comment that they give you a lot of rice but that was it. I wanted to have her try all the flavors I have had & enjoyed at other India restaurants. The chicken chunks were tender which was a good thing. They do give a complimentary bottle of water, no cups , no ice just the bottle. You eat with plastic spoons and forks. Sad to have had my Mom say she did not enjoy it. Maybe she will give a chance somewhere else someday. For being almost $18 each it was definitely not worth that kind of money. I'd expect a real silverware to use instead of plastic wear that sits out on the table that other people can touch! We can not recommend this place and it's very highly unlikely that we would eat here again.

We ordered dahi puri (too sweet), masala dosa, poori masala, vada sambar, onion dosa, and paneer biryani. The peanut chutney and sambar that came with the dosas and vada were not good, and there was no coconut chutney at all--which is typically a standard accompaniment for South Indian dishes. The aloo masala in the poori combo was completely off. Instead of the usual yellow potato masala with small chunks, it was a brown, overly spiced curry. The masala inside the masala dosa was also very different from what you would expect at a South Indian restaurant. Service was equally disappointing. The vada, which was supposed to be a starter, was brought out at the very end of the meal. On top of that, each person's dish came out one at a time instead of together. This was especially frustrating considering the restaurant only had us and one other group dining--it wasn't busy. The paneer biryani was just okay, and the onion dosa was not good. Overall, the restaurant has a lot to improve, both in terms of service and in getting basic South Indian dishes right.

They have a great selection of food in their menu. I ordered all of my favorite Indian dishes. As my husband and I waited for our order the stuff gave us a free mango lassi for each to try. It was delicious and will definitely order next time. Reason for my three stars review is due to the amount of protein given for each dish ordered. Mostly all sauce and hardly any protein. Very disappointed as it was not enough to feed everyone. Spent a lot of $$$ for sauce, rice and veggie. The flavors of each dish were amazing and exactly what I expected. Sauce was delicious over rice. Which was the only thing we had plenty of and what we ate mostly. Not sure if I'll go again as it's pricey for no protein.
