I always get the Spicy Falafel Spring Roll; it's fresh veggies (lettuce tomatoes avocado cucumber olives and more) and their yummy spicy falafel all wrapped up in a rice wrapper. But it's not the size of your typical spring rolls, this thing is the size of a super burrito! It also comes with a container of hot sauce and tahini sauce. It's soo filling and flavorful, my mouth is watering just thinking about it now! I recommend to request it to be double wrapped, it's a healthy amount of filling so one time it did burst open and it was a mess yo eat. It's $9 and I usually make two meals out of it, so it's honestly a really good deal! The people here are also super friendly and very aware of what's vegan and what's not. They take cash, card, and Apple Pay.

I appreciate they have a kiddo menu and also that they offer Haloumi Cheese as an option for their wraps/plates/bowls/sides. I ordered a Grilled Haloumi Cheese Bowl that was absolutely delicious. It came with a choice of arugula salad, tumeric rice, or 1/2 and 1/2. I chose the 1/2 and 1/2 ~ the bowl was accompanied also with fried eggplant, cucumbers, hummus, tahini sauce, and pomegranate molasses. My husband ordered a steak shawarma plate ~ the steak was cut perfectly for our kiddo to enjoy too! We also did a cold mezze side of hummus with pita. There is interior/exterior seating. Order at the register, food is delivered to you. The staff was incredibly accommodating on a busy weekend afternoon, and offered extra napkins/silverware/and ask for the hot sauce! Writing this, I can't believe we didn't try the falafel! But that leaves room for next time. Street parking can be found in front of restaurant and there is a lot in back of restaurant too. I would recommend patience when finding parking on Hartz Ave :) The food was very fresh, hearty portions, came hot and in great timing, fair pricing, and a nice array of meat/veg options. Intrigued to also check out their Oakland location too.

Review is for Doordash order:…read more Falafel Boy is a restaurant we seem to order on a weekly basis. The simple reason is that our 5yo son is an extremely picky eater, and for some reason he is a huge fan of the Kid's Chicken and Rice bowl. The rice is Turmeric rice, and completely yellow and seasoned. Chicken is boneless and seasoned but usually on the dry side. Doesn't matter / our son has been known to finish half to all of a bowl by himself for lunch. Recently we've been getting double orders to have a backup dinner option. As for the adults, I occasionally enjoy their lamb kabobs and Chicken Shawarma, while the wife is a fan of the Shrimp Kabobs. The combo plates are a complete meal since you get hummus, pita bread, and a small side salad. Definitely one of our go-to favorites for a quick lunch we know our son will enjoy.

I love coming here for a weekend lunch after a walk at my favorite Park in Danville…read more My husband always orders his favorite combination shawarma plate. It's a huge plate of food and he always brings home half. I tried their vegetable plate today for the first time. I thought the flavoring of the different dips were just okay. The eggplant dip was too sour. In order to make everything work, I highly suggest you save the red sweet pepper dip and mix it with everything else. I enjoyed the two falafels because they were hot, very light and crispy. The dolmas were sour. Overall, I felt like I was eating a lot of baby food. It's difficult to take home dip so I just ate it all which is a lot of food. I enjoyed the chickpea salad. It was one of the three items that was not a dip. The dips went well with their pita. When you order two entrees, you get a good amount of pita. They always serve complimentary black tea with your meals which is comforting to have. This restaurant is always clean and the music relaxing and not overwhelming.

Seeing the prices increase over the years hurts but I understand - it's the economy. With that said, it's really important to manage your online menu correctly. Currently on DoorDash the curly fries are $5.50 as an add on if you order their bowls. If you order the fries as a side they always charged a dollar extra over the years. Annoying but your prerogative. Currently, for weeks, a side of fries are double the price. The curly fries are $12.94. I've worked in a restaurant and managed the DoorDash kiosk. They need to adjust the pricing in the kiosk. I'm assuming that no one has gone into the restaurant and shared that they are overcharging customers. I called their phone number but it's some automated Ai service that says DoorDash manages the menus. That is not true. Why would DoorDash manage menu pricing for all of the restaurants on their platform? That would be crazy. Ai isn't perfect but I'm not even able to leave a voice message to let them know. Like I said, their menu has been like this for weeks. Unfortunately I have to deny myself of my yummy favs and not patronize your restaurant until you all get it together. Respectfully. I will update my review when the menu is fixed. I don't want to forever negatively affect your restaurant.

Updating my review after my most recent experience. Still a 5-star experience, but I wanted to…read morecomment that I got a chance to try the Marhabah chorizo breakfast burrito side-by-side with my former favorite, the Juice Joint chorizo breakfast burrito. With extra cheese and a tip, the price was almost identical ($12.62 Marhabah vs $12.67 Juice Joint). The first thing you'll notice different about these two burritos is that the one from Marhabah is significantly bigger (see attached photo). The Marhabah burrito is also a lot greasier (it soaked the paper bag through its foil wrapping). That didn't bother me, but it's worth mentioning if you're someone who doesn't like their food to be too greasy. As far as flavor goes, honestly, it was so close that it's hard to decide, but I'm leaning in favor of the flavor of Marhabah's breakfast burrito because I love that the tortilla was kinda "pressed" like a panini (it wasn't squished, but it had those sexy, grill markings), and the vegetables in the Marhabah added just the right flavor and texture to edge out the Juice Joint breakfast burrito. And because I stopped at both places, I got to grab green salsa from Juice Joint to try on the Marhabah burrito. It was good, but this burrito honestly didn't need it. For comparison, I probably wouldn't ever opt to have the Juice Joint burrito without salsa. My verdict is that the Marhabah breakfast burrito is superior to my long-time favorite from Juice Joint. Still, I'll probably alternate just to have variety, but this one is the clear winner. You get more bang for your buck and it's a little bit tastier, too. I'm looking forward to trying their lunch items next! One last thing to add: they did update their menu screens since my last visit, but it looks like one of the TV's screens are already going out. Their screens also didn't show the breakfast menu. I'm not sure why, but I had to ask an employee to verify they still had the breakfast options. Just an FYI to the business and to any visitors.

I highly recommend Marhabah Cafe!
