Everything is so good here!!! If you are looking for authentic matcha, this is the place! They have drinks to desserts! I wish there was a location in Northern CA! The next time I am in town, I need to come back and try other items at this store. I hope to come back again someday! Service was excellent!
Before visiting, I've been wanting to go to this place for a while. And until I got close I didn't realize it's located in the food court of the Mitzuwa market. It took me a while to get in the area so I actually got here right at closing. The kind folks here still allowed me to order, even though it was right at closing. I went with the Koicha Einspanner and not only was it aesthetically pleasing, but it was refreshing and showcased the flavor of their matcha. The place and vibe here was chill. Pretty much how it is at any Japanese market food court if you've been.
If you're into desserts that aren't too sweet, the matcha soft serve here is perfect for you. The matcha soft serve itself was creamy and smooth. The matcha flavor was bitter, but in a good way. It was earthy and not too weak which I liked. It was also super aesthetic with the chocolate square which provided a nice and sweet contrast to the bitter matcha. Definitely a high quality dessert. This spot is located inside the Mitsuwa marketplace food court area with parking outside shared with the Del Amo mall. It can get pretty packed in the area. I would get the soft serve here again, but I am a bit skeptical about getting the drinks here. That's because the matcha drinks look super diluted based on the color.
Located in the Mitsuwa marketplace. There was a small line when we went but service is quick. If you enjoy strong, authentic matcha, this is the place to try. High quality matcha for the price you're paying! Not only do they have drinks but also soft serve. I went with the strong uji Matcha Green Tea (without any diary/non diary options) and enjoyed the matcha taste with the hint of sweetness. 10/10. Will definitely be coming back for more!
Yamato absolutely deserves five stars. This place is a gem, and the matcha alone is worth the visit. Hands down the best matcha I have ever had. It is rich, smooth, perfectly balanced, and tastes incredibly high quality without being bitter or overly sweet. Everything feels thoughtfully prepared and authentic, and the atmosphere is calm and inviting. You can really tell care goes into what they serve, especially when it comes to their matcha. If you love matcha or are even just curious about trying a truly excellent one, Yamato is a must visit. I will absolutely be coming back just for that matcha alone.

Ujicha will be the most intense matcha experience you will encounter (and the addition of the shirataki (mochi balls) and anko (red bean) complete the experience. Tamari's service staff is friendly, youthful and customer-focused. An order and take-away sharing the large food court seating allows you to add this and that to your meal from many different sources, including Mitsuwa Market itself. Yamari has some purest form of matcha soft-serve of the many different places in So Cal, and has less sweetness than most others allowing the high-grade matcha powder used to shine through, even in the Premium parfaits. Wish they had a take home pint available, but until then it's a great option inside this varied food court. And... parking is often a waiting match at this end of the mall.
If you're looking for good quality, ceremonial-grade matcha goodies, Yamari Matcha is one of our go-tos. Located inside the Mistuwa Marketplace (convenient when running errands), service is quick and easy on a weekday. Weekends are a little tricky especially when there's a line. But overall it's an easy order, grab and go for a food court. Best eaten after a yummy tempura bowl ( or plate, depending on how hungry you are) over at Carlos Tempura.
Yamari is one of those places we will always stop by whenever we're in the area. It's become a must for us. The matcha here is freshly whisked and consistently excellent. You can taste the care and technique in every cup--nothing rushed, nothing diluted. This is matcha (and hojicha) for people who genuinely enjoy nuance, depth, and the natural flavor of tea. It's unsweetened and unapologetically so, which we really appreciate. If you're used to overly sweetened drinks, this may not be for you--but if you love true tea character, this place delivers. Consistency is another big reason we keep coming back. Every visit tastes just as good as the last, which says a lot. The ambiance is simple but charming. It feels like a small Japanese stall tucked inside a supermarket--casual, cozy, and authentic. You're still very much in a market setting, but that's part of the appeal and adds to the experience rather than taking away from it. Yamari is a gem for anyone who values well-made, traditional matcha and hojicha. No frills, no excessive sweetness--just excellent tea done right.
It was a toss up between getting the matcha soft serve or matcha drink. I had a feeling the soft serve would be the better option but since we were about to leave, a drink was more convenient. I heard Yamari had great matcha so I had high hopes. The matcha latte I got was average- sure, not powdery but not super smooth. It was not overly sweet, maintained some of the matcha bitterness so that was nice. But for what it was and the price, I didn't feel it was worth it because it wasn't too far off from what I could make at home. I was disappointed with the drink. Fret not, I am still willing to come back to try the soft serve one day.. and what's the difference between the matcha latte and matcha au lait?
This is Matcha! Comparing Yamari to all the other places I've orderd my Matcha at, I'm so much more satisfied with the quality here than anywhere else. The service was okay. The workers were wearing masks so it was hard to read their expressions. The person who took my order did make eye contact. There are plenty of places to sit though it does get loud because the space is open to the Mitsuwa grocery store and all the other food vendors.
It was super busy at Mitsuwa today. It must be a tournament weekend. Lots of kids sporting their basketball jerseys. We spent the time enjoying our iced matcha drinks and trying to read the team names. The matcha au lait is slightly sweeter than the matcha latte. Enjoy! read more
my friend and i came on a sunday afternoon and there was a long line but the wait was maybe ~10 minutes? workers were super friendly and our treats came out pretty fast! matcha fruit latte with strawberry & oat milk - 6.5/10 sweetness comes from the strawberry puree and is not sweet. not a flavorful matcha profile and wouldn't get again, especially for the price. both the oat milk & regular milk that comes with the latte didn't add to the flavor. matcha soft serve with chocolate & matcha drizzle - 9.5/10 SO good. the flavor is intense & bitter and texture is super creamy! chocolate isn't too sweet and adds a nice flavor balance if you eat it with the soft serve. matcha drizzle is a nice touch too! i think it would taste even better with a chocolate drizzle. read more

Located inside Mitsuwa, ordering and receiving our drink was quick and easy. We chose the matcha fruit latte with mango as we've rarely ever seen this paired with mango before. Personally, I was not a fan. I definitely tasted the matcha, and they advertise they sell Mori no Shiro so I assumed that is what they used. However, having had that brand of matcha before, I was surprised to find that although I could taste the matcha, it was extremely bitter. It is definitely a less sweet matcha compared to some other brands, but it should still have some natural sweetness to it. We did a good mix with the mango puree which was good on it's own, but even after thoroughly mixing the drink, I still found it to be bitter. Overall would not get a matcha drink from here again. Maybe the ice cream will be better. read more
We came here after having lunch nearby. We tried the matcha parfaits and matcha einspanners which were all made of good quality matcha. It is situated inside Mitsuwa's food court. Tried this matcha shop inside Mitsuwa in Torrance and was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the iced strong Uji matcha green tea and a matcha latte float. The line was long, but definitely worth the wait. The matcha was bold and strong, and you can really taste the quality. Personally, I would have preferred the iced green tea unsweetened, but it was still refreshing and delicious. The matcha latte float, on the other hand, was creamy and absolutely perfect. It's hard to come by a good matcha shop, and this one really impressed me. Service was quick and efficient. Since it's located in the food court, the ambience isn't anything special, but for the matcha alone, it's a spot worth visiting. read more

I ordered the Matcha Soft Serve in a cup and it was absolutely delicious! I love my matcha super strong so this was the perfect amount of matcha flavor for me. The dark vibrant green color shows just how concentrated the matcha is and it was also the right sweetness level (not too sweet). Came with a yummy piece of chocolate on top and drizzled with decadent matcha sauce. Would definitely come back and order the soft serve again. They also serve a variety of drinks and have matcha powder for sale. I really appreciated that they have sample displays showing you exactly what each menu item looks like. The shop is located inside of the Mitsuwa market food court. Service was a bit slow, but understandable considering there was a consistent line. read more
my friend and i both ordered a matcha au lait, but they had messed up and given me a matcha latte instead. this wasn't a big issue though since i love matcha lattes too, but my drink was noticeably room temperature in comparison to my friend's since i didn't have ice at all? also, i ordered it to be full sweet, but it didn't taste like it had any sweetness at all (but maybe i'm just used to it being sweetened haha). it's good if you prefer the pure taste of matcha, since it had a good earthy flavor to it and definitely tasted high quality, but i would have liked it a lot more if it was cold and sweetened. read more

This is a small shop inside the Mitsuwa food court. They serve an assortment of matcha drinks, soft serve, parfaits, etc. It was hard to decide but the display case at the counter with all the items you can order was really helpful. I got the Matcha Latte Float which was a matcha latte with whole milk and matcha soft serve. It was a good amount of ice cream in the drink! I wasn't a fan of the drink but I enjoyed the ice cream. read more

5 star for the Matcha BUT the customer service here is very gen z, idgaf attitude. Came here on 08/21 around 3:30ish and ordered a matcha float. Cashier already on her phone and can't be bothered. After ordering, another customer asks for some napkins and the cashier said that they ran out (hmmmm). When the customer left the other employee asked the cashier why she said that and the cashier told her co-worker that, that customer gave her an attitude. As a millennial customer who just got a bit of context of what transpired, cashier was unprofessional from the beginning and couldn't handle her own attitude. If you cannot be bothered being on your phone, pls stay home. read more

A cute little kiosk in the Mitsuwa at the Del Amo mall. Has a bit of that Kyoto aesthetic. I came in late on a Sunday and ordered a strawberry matcha latte. Ordering was fast and straightforward. As far as the matcha latte, the matcha was a little strong and powdery, but the strawberry was nice and sweet, and definitely had some fresh strawberries mixed in. The overall balance in the drink could be better, but it wasn't bad. read more
It has been a long while since my visit and this time around it seemed much better and of course prices definitely up rather noticeably. Not withstanding that, it is still one fine place to enjoy superb desserts and fabulous drinks. read more

Finally tried Yamari, and I totally get the hype! The line builds up fast, so be ready -- but it moves pretty efficiently. There's a decent amount of seating since it's located inside the Mitsuwa food court, which makes it a convenient stop if you're already at the Del Amo mall. I ordered the einspanner matcha, and it was rich, earthy, and very traditional -- perfect for true matcha lovers. Personally, I was in the mood for something a little sweeter that day. While you can't customize sweetness levels, I asked for extra cream foam on the side (for an extra charge), and that definitely helped balance it out and made the drink much more enjoyable for me! One thing to note -- after placing your order, make sure to stand near the pickup counter. They don't call out names or give any sort of notification when your drink is ready, so it can get a little confusing if you're not paying attention. Overall, a great spot for high-quality, traditional matcha. I'd definitely come back to try more items! read more
After coming back from Japan and Korea I definitely miss matcha. So I came to Yamari with one other person to grab a quick drink. I got their matcha latte which comes in two different sizes. I got their regular size which was pretty small. But it was pretty good at 50% sweetness. The person I went with got their Hojicha which they thought was okay. By default their drink wasn't sweet so you will need to let them know. Besides their popular matchas and drinks they also have parfaits and soft serves as well. I do want to come back and try their matcha soft serve. The staff made the drinks quick. Yamari is a small matcha spot that is located inside Mitsuwa. Strong, bitter and earthy this is the real stuff! Beware if you aren't accustomed to the taste of really strong matcha, it might be a little offputting for most, but this is what matcha is supposed to taste like! First time at this spot. I got the Matcha au lait. And it was so good! Beautiful vibrant color. My only complaint is I ordered a medium, and got a really small cup. Idk if it was a mistake? Fast service. Premium matcha from Uji, Kyoto. Located in a busy food court that has indoor seating and an outdoor patio. MATCHA SOFT SERVE: Good, especially if you like the bitterness of matcha. The profile was stronger than what I'm used to. The drizzle of matcha syrup was a nice balance. I generally go to TeaMasters in Little Tokyo for my matcha fix, but I wanted to try what the South Bay has to offer, and while different, it didn't disappoint. Dunno if I'd call myself a connoisseur, but I'm at least a matcha veteran. Was hunting for the best matcha latte in town and saw multiple Yelp reviews from other shops recommending Yamari. The Good: * Matcha soft serve was ideal - lightly sweet (my preference), very smooth, creamy, and POTENT powdery matcha flavor. * Latte part can be customized : 100/50/0% sweet. * The employee let me sample the matcha soft serve to help me decide how sweet I wanted my latte, which I really appreciated. 50% was perfect for my #NotTooSweet Asian palette and paired well with the soft serve. * Bright and clean food court in a - dare I say - sexy mall. The Less Ideal: * Matcha flavor in latte was legit, but to my surprise, paled in comparison to the soft serve's, ie. weaker and less complex in flavor. They have a premium $16 matcha latte that I assume would taste bolder but I am a poor student. * Really bummed to learn their hojicha soft serve was discontinued. * No napkins, as other reviews have mentioned. Next time, I'll go for the matcha soft serve parfait; the chocolate and mochi toppings looked really good, and I preferred the soft serve's matcha flavor to the latte's. read more

I got the matcha latte with oat milk and it was very strong and perfect. You can see that the color is super green and I love it. The matcha soft serve was also really good. Small matcha shop inside the Mitsuwa food court. They have their food and drinks on display so you know what you're ordering. The hojicha orange yuzu drink was a little confusing. Probably would be better without the orange since it clashed with the yuzu. Matcha parfait was some jelly at the bottom, two mochi balls and a scoop of red bean on matcha vanilla swirl. Matcha was good, I'd get it again without all the toppings. They have matcha powder for sale too. read more

The texture was so smooth and creamy. The matcha is strong and the vanilla is fragrant. It's a good combo, especially if you want the best of both worlds. The dark chocolate is also wonderful. I'm always on the search for the best matcha and the matcha float here was amazing. Very strong matcha taste I love it. They also sell matcha products such as matcha powder, matcha whisk, matcha stick. As I was waiting in line, I looked up the matcha powder brand they were selling and decided to buy one to try at home and it turned out to be high quality matcha from Kyoto, Japan. Their matcha powder is uji mukashi from Tsujirihei. It is very bright green color so you know it's fresh matcha, a little light for me, but very good as every day matcha. I finished it within a week lol. I wish this place is closer to me so I can come back to try other matcha drinks/desserts/products. read more

i'm shocked at the downgrade in quality after my visit today. i ordered a koicha einspanner after being amused by the menu and beli pictures. upon receiving the drink, the matcha was extremely light, the cream was watery, and the powder was not even distinct despite having a template. after comparing to several photos from past reviews, i went to ask the workers about it to which they replied they were making it the "old way." mind you, i have been here during their "old way" when they first opened before the koicha einspanner. i was overall disappointed because i know their drinks are good, i was just met with lackluster service. read more
