    Lots of sushi and sashimi.
    Dan R.

I have been here six times already and each time it gets better. Unfortunately the last time I was there, this week, they told me there was no more lobster. But when I called back today, they said yes they have lobster but it is not on the buffet anymore. So they have adjusted the price of the all-you-can-eat and lowered it by $10. The lobster's you can get now for $10 each. This sushi is excellent, the crab legs are served cold, but still great, and they have so many more other things to choose from that are delicious. Lots of other seafood, including oysters, which I found to be pretty good. The service was good, the waiters and waitresses were very nice and attentive. The decor is pretty cool.

This is one of the new buffets in the area that I have heard all my friends rave about. This is an elevated Chinese buffet with a large sushi selection and your typical buffet fare with a focus on seafood. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sushi as it didn't taste fishy at all. Some of my favorite bites were the sashimi, Galbi and fried frog legs. I loved the quality and unique variety of food they had.

We came for lunch buffet. I think for us the sub $30 price and offerings is a better choice for our needs. We will be back for lunch. Grab yourself coupons when you come in to use on your visit. I miss the chi forest drinks. But kalbi, steam fish, sushi, fruit bar, all offer enough to still justify the price. Servers are attentive and the space is kept clean.

Things I saw on @tiktok : @yamibuffetva The staff was pleasant and welcoming. Food was constantly being changed out along with consistent cleaning. There is literally something for everyone's palate. There is a 90 minute window per customer. My favorites were the salmon with red sauce, the shumai, the green beans (I could have gotten an entire plate of them), and the miso soup. @yamibuffetva is about 5 minutes from the Van Dorn @metroforward but they have plenty of parking too! 2 people was about $88. If it's 6 or more people gratuity is automatically included on your ticket. The ambiance was very bright and neon but I didn't feel overwhelmed.

One of the best Chinese / Seafood buffets I have ever been to! There was a LOT of seafood, including sushi that was included in the price! Highly recommend!!!

    Prices lunch $18.99 Dinner $29.99

Restaurant was good but not great. I'd say it was like every other Chinese buffet in the area but maybe 10% better. It looks like they recently lowered the prices because now it seems to be $18.99 for lunch and $29.99 for dinner and weekends, down from like $25.99 for lunch and $39.99 for dinner and weekends. Service was standard buffet, maybe even a little subpar. Didn't get offered a drink refill and plates sat on my table for a while. Atmosphere was nice enough. No windows neon lights. I didn't try the hibachi bar but I'm not sure it looked great. At the current prices I might recommend but I'm ambivalent about it. If this is what it was like when it was a lot more expensive then it's a definite no.

This buffet was not like any other buffet I've been to in the DMV. Everything was so good, and there were so many options that it was honestly a little overwhelming in the best way. They had a huge variety of drinks, fresh seafood, cooked seafood, sushi, hibachi, and so much more. I really enjoyed the hibachi station, the sushi, the sticky rice, and the seafood casserole. One thing I loved was that every person gets a free lobster with the buffet. If you do the premium option, you get unlimited lobster. Me and my friend did the basic, and it was still more than worth it. It was packed, but the service was still good and we didn't have to wait long to be seated. Overall, it was a really great experience. I definitely want to come back because I still wasn't able to try everything.

Whenever I see AYCE and lobsters, I always make an effort to try out the restaurant. Went here at opening on Saturday to avoid the crowds later. Price on weekend is like dinner price. $40 which includes AYCE + 1 whole steam lobster. You can pay $10 more to have AYCE steamed lobsters. The place is very nicely decorated for a Chinese buffet. Even the restrooms are nice and clean. I like that a lot. The food here is extensive. A lot of options to choose from. I love seafood so that's my go to. All are well seasoned and tasted fresh. You can't go wrong here really. Service is great also. They picked up the dirty plates quickly and refilled your drinks often. I like that also. This is definitely the best Chinese AYcE w lobsters in VA. It's a no brainer. Will be back here often for sure.

I had been so looking forward to visiting this place way before it opened. I even found myself promoting it to friends to go check it out, but I also wanted to give it a few weeks to work out the kinks that tend to happen when a place newly opens. Once my friends learned of the concept and we saw videos and images as we follow the page on IG, they kept telling me how scared they were of the buffet style set up, everyone breathing on the food and that they wouldn't take the risk, so tonight I decided to visit, alone. The place was packed but guests were greeted and seated promptly. I did not have to wait and quickly was directed to a table. I made my way to the buffet area where lots was going on. A very vast selection of sushi. Lots of Asian dishes along with the most common things you find at a Chinese take out. Things like crab ragoons, chicken wings, general to's chicken, beef and brócoli, spare ribs, Chinese rice and much more. Then there was a station of Sashimis, another of fresh seafood such as shrimp, oysters, mussels, crab legs and more. There's a grill area flaming up some meats, deserts are, a fridge with lots of Asian drinks, a freezer with ice-cream and then the area of hibachi. I was impressed with the wide selection for all tastes, the place super clean, lots of staff on the floor making sure nothing was running out and service staff very attentive to customer needs. I wanted this to be a place I left and bragged about to my friends, however unfortunately most of the food was extremely bland and all the cuts of meat and rice lacked flavor or was very dry. While I was at the hibachi station waiting for my plate, someone threw up on the floor, to be honest, I paid it no mind. Staff proceeded to clean it up, I got my plate and sat back down to eat. Unfortunately I came straight home to do the same, hug the toilet bowl like we were making a pact. While I was eating my hibachi serving I had started feeling oozy and nauseous. I got another drink and some fruit to cleanse my palette from the hibachi plate that was flavorless, I still felt like something was off, I paid and left. Arex was my server, very nice, attentive and hospitable. The price was not bad at all and the tip ratio is the lowest. I really wanted this place to be a hit but it didn't do it for me. I lay now in bed on a Friday night with a stomachache, headache and chills writing this review. My friends warned me about the seafood buffet thing. I guess you live, you learn!

This week we checked out the newish Yami buffet in the old Red Lobster location. It's decent. Yami is very similar to Umai on Little River Turnpike and Aurora in Leesburg (but more expensive). We paid $39 plus tax. Yami is pretty good in that the food (which includes sushi) seems fresh and they're always restocking the trays in the steam tables. The selection is good as well. Just a side note, Asian buffets on the West Coast always have mashed potatoes and gravy, but I've yet to see mashed potatoes at an Asian buffet in the DMV. There is a hibachi station at Yami. I thought the short ribs were especially good. Service was very good. I don't know if they have lobster all the time, but they did this past Sunday. This is certainly not a reflection on Yami, but more an observation on the times in which we live. During our meal, at the same table next to us, two different guys sat there, entertaining themselves by loudly playing/watching junk on their phones while they ate.

Another time at Yami. The drinks are too sweet. The hibachi sauce is too salty. Needs more improvement for food options. Lobsters and grill options are great. Sushi, candy, drinks and ice creams are great options!

A nice buffet to take your family to. It is $25.99 for lunch and $39.99 for dinner. Drinks are included in the price which you don't see with other buffets. They have nice drink shelves stocked with teas, milk teas, sodas, bottled juices, etc., and unlimited. Do not over grab food you won't be able to finish because they do charge. This is why there is a person at the lobster station to give one lobster per person at a time. I see a lot of both positive and negative reviews about this place but in my opinion, you will only like it and think it is worth it if you're a big seafood eater. If you're not, this spot may not be worth it to you and especially not at their price because there is a very big sushi/sashimi station & I would not come here and not get the lobster. I had a great time and really ate as much as I could of everything. The sushi, hibachi, few rounds of lobster and drinks. If you have never been, I would still stop by to try for your first time. Do they serve alcohol?

Hi Sharon, great question. Yes they do serve beer & saki. On another note, unlike my prior visit it's now 1 lobster per guest your server brings it to your table.

Is it unlimited lobsters? Also, are the lobsters included for lunch?

Yes, it's buffet. Table next to us ate 12 lobsters. There is a 90 minute time limit per table. We went during dinner, I'm sure lobsters are included during lunch, I recommend you call the restaurant directly to confirm. Enjoy! You won't be…

We especially love the mussel boil, which comes with snow crab, shrimp, mussels, sausage, potatoes, and corn for a very fair price. Before that, our preferred restaurant had always been Crazy Crab, where we consistently had excellent experiences. Unfortunately, after today, I will not be returning to Hook & Reel. I brought family members who had just driven in from Massachusetts and planned to treat them to dinner. There were four of us dining, and while three planned to order the All-You-Can-Eat option, one person preferred ordering directly from the regular menu. After we had already ordered drinks, we were informed by the manager, Vivian, that either everyone at the table had to order All-You-Can-Eat, or everyone had to order from the regular menu. There was no flexibility, no customer consideration, and no appreciation shown for the fact that we are repeat customers who have spent a significant amount of money there over time. In fact, several friends and members of our church began dining there based on our recommendation. What was most disappointing was not simply the policy itself, but the way the situation was handled. We were made to feel as though the restaurant viewed us as people trying to "game the system" over a few shrimp or crab legs, rather than loyal customers bringing business and referrals into the establishment. To make matters worse, this was communicated only after our drink orders had already been placed. Rather than create a scene, we simply paid for our drinks and left. We immediately went to Crazy Crab, where the experience could not have been more different. Staff members remembered us even though it had been months since our last visit. We were welcomed warmly, treated with dignity and respect, and received exceptional service from beginning to end. We gladly spent over $230 there instead. As a retired Army veteran, retired federal executive, business owner, and someone who frequently hosts family, friends, church members, and professional guests at restaurants, customer experience matters greatly to me. One poor interaction can cost a business far more than a single table. It can impact repeat business, referrals, community reputation, and future opportunities. From a business perspective, this experience should concern ownership. In today's economy, restaurants do not simply compete on food -- they compete on customer experience, relationships, and reputation. One inflexible interaction from management did not just lose a single dinner sale; it likely lost repeat visits, family gatherings, business meals, church referrals, and positive word-of-mouth within the local community. Strong businesses empower managers to protect both policy and customer relationships. Unfortunately, in this situation, customer loyalty and hospitality were sacrificed over what appeared to be concern about one person potentially sharing food. That decision ultimately cost the restaurant far more than it protected. If you want to dine somewhere where hospitality, consistency, and customer appreciation still matter, I would strongly recommend Crazy Crab. I truly hope Hook & Reel reflects on how situations like this are handled in the future, because no loyal customer should leave feeling disrespected after choosing to spend their hard-earned money at your establishment.

Ok peoples...so yesterday I randomly felt like treating my son and myself to dinner. And I will say…read moreMike's American did not disappoint. Soon as you walk in through the revolving door, you are greeted with a wood fire grill aroma that makes your sense of smell scream omg what is that and I'll take 2 please. There was no wait time, we were instantly seated at a small both for two. And yes the seats are comfortable. I would have loved to be seated next the the staircase because it has some nice sight lines. The restaurant is so clean and nicely decorated as if you stepped into a homey yet lux cabin restaurant. It just feels....comforting. There were a lot of people dining here but the noise level was surprisingly minimal. The service is impeccable. Every waiter was attentive. Someone even asked us if we wanted another drink when our glasses were full. Never in my life has that happen to me. Lol The server was very knowledgeable about everything and left me to decided between all the wonderful options they offer. And they have OPTIONS. I heard the steak is banging. I'll be back... Now let's talk about these Ozzie dinner rolls. Bomb! End of story. And in my Nike voice....Just do it. In other words stuff your face and get some to go. I got blessed with 2 baskests and a bag to go. Won't he do it. My son enjoyed his little Mac aka his burger and fries but was too full to finish the fries because he stuff his face with Ozzie dinner rolls. So be careful yall. You have been warned. I orderer the pecan trout which was a very interesting take on baked fish and yet it was still good. I'm not raving about it. But it was good. Nice thing is they give you to pieces of trout 1 for now and 1 for later because yes I stuffed my face with those darn Ozzie rolls. Smh I had my eyes set on that deep dish apple pie and I shall return to try it and other menu items..like that banging steak. My leftovers hit the spot. I had enough for a whole lunch the next day. Saved me extra resources. Everything tasted even better the next day. Like the seasoning settled in and exploded into deliciousness. Peoples I say this with love...Don't come here because I don't want yall taking up all the free parking spaces available. Lol this is my new go to spot.
