Nasty Horrible place the food is terrible and old dry and left overs We couldn't finish the food and the lady got angry trying to force us to eat the nasty food because she saw it on the plate she kept saying we got too much and wanted to charge us She also grabbed my phone trying to stop me from filming I told her that we couldnt eat the food because it was old and tasted very very bad It is disgusting old and nasty food The craw fish is nothing but oil Everything is left overs from a long time and when I told the lady she gets extremely violent and wanted to charge me for the nasty left overs. I told her I can't eat the food and she kept insisting to charge me extra to take the left over garbage It is disgusting old and nasty food

Rating: 5/10 First time here for a buffett because my dad was craving buffet food. Atmosphere was brezzy and spacy and lots of available to sit and eat and not feel too crowded like all the other buffet restaurant and their big large tv that have ocean view is very relaxing when eating and viewing. Service was quick and fast as someone always come and take our dirty plate as soon as we are done. Cost was cheap. It was $18.99 for adults and $17.99 for senior. Food was mediocre. Not much was offered. They do have a hibachi bar. Sushi was good, The oyster and snow crab legs are very limited. Oyster was never refilled the whole time we were there and we were there for 1 plus hour. Crab legs were cold not hot. One large steaks dish and the rest of the dishes were chicken. They do have ice cream and a dessert bar. Fruits were also mediocre. Overall, I would not come back here because of the long drive and lack of food.

Me and my family had a good experience. We enjoy everything, the shrimp, the beef and the fruit.

Me and my family came on a Sunday afternoon. Had a great time. The food and the service was really good. The seafood, the shrimp, the beef, the fruits, God bless you and enjoy

Went on a sunday for lunch. It was $19 per person dinner price all day sunday. Drink was +$2.49. Food was fresh and replenished frequently. We were there for about an hour and the snow crab legs were restocked atleast two times (it was piled on high each time). Had to get a plate of this because it was fresh! Also asked the server if they had a claw cracker and she got me one right away. Service was good overall. They were attentive to refilling our drinks and took plates away quickly even though it was packed. Also appreciated that they provided napkin dispensers at the table (not all restaurants have this and some are even stingy about napkins). Loved the desserts! I usually avoid the little cakes at buffets but decided to try the mango mousse cake and roll cake and they were delicious! Light and fluffy, not too sweet. The sesame balls from the fried foods bar were a nice treat with red bean paste inside. The restaurant was decorated with halloween decor and the employees were dressed up. It was fun and festive. Umai doesn't deserve the 2.5 star rating I saw on here. Would definitely come again!

This is really not a good place to go. There were lots of dishes that were unbearable - rubbery oysters, watery fish, a nasty tasting soy sauce. Really it was awful. It's been a few hours and I am not sick yet, but I was worried. Avoid.

this is a very nice touch.

Came here off the strength of the last buffet was here and figured I'd give the new place a try. It also had the price outside which was helpful. I didn't read the whole sign, so maybe I would've seen that the $18.99 price didn't include a drink which is normal, but at the time I was a little shocked by the $24 for an 11:30am lunch buffet plus tip on Saturday. This place has been completely renovated and redesigned and it looks so much better. The benches are a little short on seat width but better than those wooden benches that come out too far. The decor is modern and looks great. They have a screen that wraps around that they put a moving aquarium screensaver or something. Maybe it changes? A very nice touch. The food I think is a decent amount. They have good offerings of the regulars and its looks good as far as fresh and such. I don't really like buffets like I used to prepandemic. But I try new ones in case they change. They've gone up in price understandably but I guess I just enjoy them less. That said if you like soft crab rangoons, they are great. I tried a bit of everything, it was okay. I don't like the look or texture of a lot of chinese buffet food but that said at least the presentation here is nicer. So I was going to give this a 3 star, but this is one of the area's nicest buffets and with the ambience of the screen and the renovation, I'm giving it an extra star. If you like Chinese buffets and don't need the endless selection of some, give this place a try.

I arrived here from Ronald Regan Washington international airport and used the public transportation system to get here. Thankfully, they were open for dinner and I got seated right away. The restaurant itself was not big but not small either. It could accommodate 50 people at any given time. I arrived here around 5:30 PM on a brisk Wednesday evening. It was nice to be here because of the travel that I had done the day before to get here. With that said, I spent a good amount of time eating my way through the station that they had. I was quite famished because of the air travel and definitely was looking forward to diving in. I ended up having most of the seafood related items first before diving into a second round of the seafood again I ended up with a plate of carbohydrates, mostly pasta and rice before ending the meal with a full stomach and a happy smile on my face. Definitely worth coming here because of the unlimited items that they had. At least it felt unlimited because of the share volume of food that they put out on any given day. I spent about an hour here trying to get full value for my meal which happened to be around $15-$20 with out tax and gratuity. Feeling pretty good when I've dived in. Bloated when I finally said I had enough. It was worth the effort though! If you're in the area and wouldn't love a good Chinese themed inspired buffet, consider coming here to this one in Alexandria, Virginia. I certainly recommend this one for sure. The overall experience here at this Golden Buffet restaurant in Alexandria, Virginia was very good. I overdid it calories wise, but I was on vacation. I sat near the food, which small wonderful and Daphne made me think that I could eat a lot more than I normally can on any given day. At least the price was fixed so that you can indulge beyond what you can for a fixed price. That's what I love about a buffet and the Golden buffet here in Alexandria Virginia is no different. The ambience here was very good and quiet for sure. It was just me and my stomach hurting all the food that I was eating. Once in a while, the server comes to check up on me to see if I had needed any water or anything else to drink during my stay. While the food is mass produced, you can feel that there is pride and love that goes into making such delicious dishes every day. They basically have the traditional Chinese food dishes that most Americans would enjoy, as well as other dishes that local Chinese in the area would enjoy as well. So they have a lot of stuff that can pique the curiosity of both. I eat a bunch of vegetables during my stay but majority of the food that I had was the seafood, considering that's usually the most expensive items on the menu anyway. And so, if you love buffet and Chinese food, consider coming here in the Alexandria area if you're hungry for something that would carry your dinner plans as definitely scratch that Chinese food fix that you've been craving all day long. The Golden buffet restaurant is located in Alexandria Virginia. It is physically located at 7820 Richmond Highway, a few miles from the Ronald Reagan Washington International Airport. I took the metro and a local bus to get here, which was okay. The rush hour in DC is pretty much crazy but I made it work. For the most part though, my experience here at the Golden Buffet Alexandria was good and cozy. As I write this, I'm full to the max and don't really regret it at the moment. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, they have a small parking area for y'all who drive. If you're like me, public transportation is available (DC metro and other public buses) for anyone and everyone who wishes to come and dine here. And of course, there's Uber and Lyft and Empower at your convenience. If you're looking for something that can fill your stomach at a reasonable price, consider coming here for your next meal in the DC / Alexandria area. Oh maybe you could probably skip a meal or so just to make room to get real value for your money. That's what I did when I came. Air travel can do that to anyone. 4.0 stars for the overall experience Support local! B

Second, the selection is huge. They pretty much have almost everything you expect in an AYCE place. Chinese hot food, Japanese sashimi, Korean BBQ, vegan salad, drinks, ice cream. They even have snow crab and lobster claws the day we were there. They also had "buddha jumping over the wall" soup - if you know what it is. One thing is that my empty plates were piling up before they were taken away, but I guess it was Saturday and they were busy. Overall the food selection was amazing. I only wish their desserts are better... I thought the little roll/balls in the frig was mochi... but no... it was something with unpleasant texture - they tasted like silicon... Other than that, I think this place is the best Asian AYCE I have tried in the US. If we are ever in Maryland and in the area we will definitely come back.

Most buffets have typically the same things but this one exceeded my standards. I loved the build your own hot pot, the meat tasted so fresh and it was very tender. They have workers who go around and make sure the service areas are clean of food and such which i liked. It was very clean. Would i make the drive again? Good thing we arrived early enough to beat the crowd and get dibs on the food that alone would be worth $20 if eating by itself in a typical Chinese resto - examples include the seafood (which my wife says was surprisingly fresh compared to all other buffets we've had in the past), ribs, roast duck, pho (yes...PHO!) - to name a few. The place itself is quite spacious, modern looking, and clean. Tables were NOT crammed together like some other buffets might be. Restrooms were big and clean. Speaking of cleanliness - plates were clean AND DRY (unlike every other buffet I've been to where the dishwasher seems to be so overwhelmed that plates come out wet...yuck) Staff is amazing! Friendly, took their time, efficient at removing dirty plates, and gentle...not sure what I mean by that, but I feel like it made my dining experience that much better. Food-wise, I'd say was slightly a step above in terms of the non-seafood items. My wife says the seafood was top notch. I really enjoyed the ribs, chicken stick, and beef broccoli - although everything else was quite tasty. My 7 y/o enjoyed the pizza, fries, and chicken nuggets. The taro bun was nice and soft - a definite departure from the stale, hard-on-the-outside buns I was accustomed to at other buffets. Most surprisingly was that they had pho!...which I've never ever seen before at a Chinese buffet. I didn't have a chance to try it, but will certainly do so next time. Parking-wise - there seems to be dedicated parking at the resto level (at least I didn't see any other businesses at that lower level) which can be accessed by driving straight towards the buffet and NOT going to the upper level where the Burlington strip mall is. If lower level parking is full, there would certainly be more parking in upper level....then simply take the stairs down to buffet. I'm excited to go back....and excited for YOU to try it! Definitely one of the best....if not THE BEST Chinese buffet I've ever been to. And having experienced the Chinese buffets in Southern California, that's saying a lot! NOTE: Don't compare a buffet to a traditional Chinese restaurant. In a buffet....it's more about getting your fill. Here, I think you'll find that you not only get your fill, but you'll be satisfied. OH! And my stomach was not upset at all afterwards (apart from being soooo full lol). Bon appetit!

There are honestly too many delicious options to list. Some of my personal favorites include the carved brisket roast and the perfectly steamed halibut. I also loved the made-to-order noodle bar, where I customized a pho bowl topped with beef, wontons, and roasted duck. It was rich, comforting, and full of flavor. With so many high-quality options, you truly get both variety and great taste here. This is one buffet that definitely exceeds expectations.

The service was quite good for a buffet - staff were pleasant and worked hard. The hot and sour soup was good. Tried the chicken and broccoli - the chicken was decent and the broccoli wasn't overcooked/mushy at all. The sushi selection is not extensive, but it looked fresh and there was salmon sashimi also available. The sashimi were small cube pieces that were good. Only negative was the steak. There was a side of beef where you could cut off pieces. We each took a small piece. Both of them were very, very tough and chewy. We couldn't eat them. Too bad, because the rest of the food was good. Although the steak was inedible, the ribs were quite good. My partner said the crab was quite good - not large, but well prepared and tasty.
