Wow just got ripped off by this place. Ordered Kung Pao chicken, hot and sour soup and spicy salmon roll. All freaking garbage, all went into the trash. Hot and sour soup had no flavor tasted like dirty water. Kung pao chicken just a bunch of diced veggies with a few small pieces of chicken. Not spicy - no chilies and no flavor. My daughter had the roll and couldn't eat. Dry and fishy - not fresh. I just got ripped off. 30 bucks in to the garbage. I hope this place goes out of business. read more

I was in desperate search for sushi when I came across a review for Yan Asain Restaurant. They were a total life saver as I was super hungry and not wanting to leave my apartment. I ordered a tokyo roll and a philly roll, both pretty solid. I don't normally get the tokyo roll, but it sounded good so I gave it a shot. We love the food and would have loved to have had the dinner we ordered this evening. Ordered food through delivery.com and received confirmation. Hour and 40 minutes later.... Still no food. Called and was told "ooohhhhhh yes we have the order". Apparently confirmed but never "put in". So rather than wait another hour we cancelled the order. It will probably be a very long time before we order from here again. (But we will eventually bc the food IS really good). read more

We have ordered take out from here twice. First time was delivery. It actually came at the exact time promised, so that was good. Both times we ordered orange chicken, pork fried rice, and dumplings. And both times I was satisfied with the food. No complaints. It was definitely good food for take out Chinese. Ordered delivery from here via grub hub. Food came 20 minutes early, which was nice. Green salad for $4 is much larger than you would normally get at a sushi restaurant. The ginger dressing is good. Miso soup and tuna avocado roll were solid. One star off as the prices for delivery are just good, not great. Will be ordering again though. read more

Yan Asian has really good sushi! I am a VERY picky eater, and I'm very discriminating when it comes to quality. The salmon and the eel sushi taste very fresh and delicious. The delivery person is very nice. The constructive criticism I have is for them to have more interesting specialty rolls. Also, their dragon roll was chinsy on the amount of fish in each piece. Some of the worst Iv had right here. Tom Kha Gai soup was gross, Massaman curry had no flavor and the chicken was slimy. The curry was watered down to nothing and full of onions, eggplant, zucchini, carrots, string beans.... less chicken, no flavor. Garbage. read more

Very very very disappointed with my recent experience ordering online for delivery. I was very specific with the food I was ordering and what showed up was not only wrong, it was actually inedible. Even worse, when I called to get the food replaced assuming it was an error on their part, I was literally argued with and told that I was wrong. No replacement food. No refund. $25.00 worth of food went in the garbage. Horrible customer service. Just horrible. Don't waste your money here. read more

I work in East Rutherford and for the longest time I couldn't find a really good Asian restaurant. This morning I received a menu from Yan so I decided to give it a shot. I ordered the chicken with Thai basil sauce. It was bursting with flavor nice and spicy without being overbearing. The vegetables seemed fresh and the food was ready pretty fast. The staff was curious and spoke English well (not a deal breaker for me but it is nice to communicate easily). Although this was only my 1st time ordering from here I plan on going back anytime I'm in the mood for Chinese sushi or Thai. My fiancé and I ordered delivery on Monday & enjoyed their sushi so much that we ordered again tonight (two days later). Very good miso soup, great spicy kani salad, and really great standard sushi & special rolls. We LOVE the red & white roll! Delivery was quick and very friendly delivery person both nights. My only complaints are that they only include soy sauce packages rather than the cups & tonight a couple of the rolls fell apart as we were eating. Annoying but they still tasted great. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great sushi dinner that can be enjoyed from the comfort of your couch. read more

Honestly, I don't know why people have been giving this place bad reviews. I was looking for a place in the area that served good sushi at a decent price, and this place really does it for me. Granted, I haven't had anything apart from the miso soup and sushi, but I think they did pretty good on the sushi. I've eaten a lot of sushi in my day, and I can't find one thing to complain about. Big pieces of sashimi, the nigiri is thick and filling, and the California rolls are pretty up to standard. Still tastes better than the garbage you get at the grocery store and at a better price. If I could find ONE thing to complain about, it would be that I have to go to a different website to get sake delivered to me as well. It used to be better. I don't know what happened to them but now it really doesn't matter what you order, they just decide randomly how they are going to make it. It has always been kind of sketchy about whether the spicy you ordered will show up that way but tonight's chow fun was the worst I have ever had. Why bother to ask how I want it prepared if you are just going to give me what you feel like making? I ordered Extra Spicy, not totally bland and mild. They also pay no attention to the order time. The food was terrible. Coconut shrimp was basically jumbo shrimp battered with a disgusting sauce that seemed to be made with MAYO AND COCONUT OIL for flavor. The rice was heavy and greasy and the chicken tasted so old. I literally trashed everything but the egg roll. The egg roll was the only thing I enjoyed. The portions are big but probably because the quality. I am one person and ended up spending $30 just to trash it. I would say about 20 mins later I felt like I was going to be sick. I think Yan's used to be something else, but is being promoted as a new restaurant. I definitely would not recommend this place. I spent 20 dollars (not including tax or tip) on 2 rolls - one regular spicy tuna and one special roll. There were only 12 pieces and they were sooooo tiny. Definitely not worth 20 bucks. I wouldn't want someone else to waste money on mediocre sushi. Very disappointing! I would recommend Nizi in East Rutherford instead. read more
