By far, one of the best sushi spots I've ever been to. Fresh sushi every time I've come. Great family owned spot. Everyone is amazing here. The service is awesome. They remembered our names after just the first time we went in. They have great rolls with no rice, and all sorts of specials every time we go. Honestly, once you come here you won't want to go to any other sushi spot in the valley. I am SO thankful this place is right near my house because i will be returning again and again and again. First of all, the people that work here are so sweet and friendly and they really just make you feel at home. They also have great recommendations when your not sure what to get. But I promise that no matter what you get, it will be AMAZING! MY friend and I ordered the oh baby roll which is one of their most popular rolls. It was so so fresh and yummy. We also got a philadelphia roll(which was not on the menu) but they will make you whatever you want. I am confident that every item they create here will be amazing and you can tell that the sushi chefs really put alot of care and effort into the sushi that they create. Midori? NO thank you! I am now an offical Yanagi fan and will probably only come here from now on. :) read more

Where do I start? I use to go to Chiba in North Hollywood, but after I moved it just got to be too much of a trip. So, I was thrilled when we found Rock N Sushi in North Hills. The service at Rock N Sushi is pretty horrible, so we saught out again to find a new place. I am so pleased my husband suggested we pop in here. It is so nice to have such quality food so close to home. Tons of parking, clean, never too crowded, and the staff is really nice. Their menu is endless!!! I have so much fun pouring all over it between rolls. Top quality fish & veggies.. OH! And the sake is always served HOT which is something I appreciate greately. The staff is so nice & hospitable. The staffs super nice but unfortunately the sushi is, I paid like $85 for take out n 3 of the 4 rolls were incorrect, The "spicy" garlic edamame was just garlic edamame slathered in sirracha.. Maybe eating in is a better experience, i wouldn't recommend it and i doubt ill return read more

I found this place when I first started working in the nearby business park, then it was Great Western Bank. Therefore, its been years and years ago. Time went on, and I relocated jobs time-after-time. I now work nearby and decided to re-visit a familiar place. In short, this place is still Awesome! It was like I never left! I had the lunch special, which was six dollars and some change, which came with: Chicken Teryiaki, tumpura, two california rolls, salad, and steamed rice. All of this was for the price of a drive through. The customer service is very good, and I was able to have a peaceful lunch having a delicious meal. We found this via Yelp one night we were craving sushi and this is close to home. Probably never would have noticed it but have passed it a million times. We went on a week night with two small children and had a great dinner. Good service, very friendly. Very kind to our kids and our young children are sushi and liked it. The Oh Baby roll was delish. I'm really starting to like this place. I like how it's never too busy, and the quality and service keep me coming back. They have great sushi lunch specials, and I recently tried a few of their popular rolls, and they were all pretty good. We tried the oh baby, double albacore, and in and out roll. I rarely get sushi when I eat out. My sister wanted it. This place was nearby, had decent reviews, and was open on a Monday. My sister and I shared their hanagi roll, which was a salmon roll with seared tuna on top, rainbow roll, unagi sushi, and miso soup. The food was okay. It wasn't bad but it wasn't delicious. The thing with sushi is I never get a feeling of fullness. I mean, I was full but I feel like I could eat a lot more. Idk if I'm just a glutton. The price is average. Our total with tip and tax was $40. Anyways I doubt I will ever return here. Not because it was bad but it just didn't wow me enough and there are too many good sushi places to try. read more

Love the seared salmon with truffle oil and salt and the crispy rice with spicy tuna. The menu items are yummy but those two are standout delicious for me. The staff is lovely and they are seen frequently disinfecting during this pandemic which is comforting. read more

My go to sushi spot. I prefer Yanagi over any high end restaurant sushi I've had. Been eating here since the pandemic hit. My gf and I order it at least 1x a week. I crave it! So good!! Service was wonderful and the food was delicious. I'm not usually a big sushi person so I got mainly California style rolls, which were very good. I did try the rolls my two friends got which were fantastic however. The Oh Baby roll was probably my favorite (also one highly recommended to us). The miso soup was very good as well! I would highly recommend this place to all who love sushi, and especially those who are just starting to like sushi! read more

Try it! you won't regret it - I highly recommend you try the " burritos " (shrimp tempura hand roll with soy paper) they also have a "fish" burrito (3 types of fish) Warning: Since I tried these burritos about 15 years ago - I get really strong cravings and have to go! The food was good but the service was horrible! I went in last weekend, sat at the bar, and both sushi chefs just had a dead stare, no one welcomed me while entering and they seemed so pushy and kept asking for my order before I had even gotten a menu. Had 3 items (1 sashimi, 1 sushi and 1 roll) and it cost me $40+ waaaaaaaay over priced! Needless to say this was my first and last visit. You're better off going to Yagumo Sushi in Van Nuys where the prices are reasonable and quality and service are top notch! read more

Kris and June were absolutely amazing. Chef did a great job. All around this is the kind of sushi spot the North end of the Valley needs and wow they impressed. We have been serving the Northridge community since 1989. As one of the earliest sushi restaurants in the area, we pride ourselves on our originality and long standing customers. When you come in, we hope you feel right at home with our friendly staff and owners.

Meet the Business Owner: June Y.

June has been the owner since Yanagi Sushi's opening day in December of 1989. With hard work, she has built a business with her husband Young. Together they have kept the establishment open to this day, serving countless customers and building a family-like group of regulars. Today their son Yoon helps to run the restaurant.

I first came across this place on TikTok, and ever since, I couldn't stop thinking about the Oh Baby Roll. We finally made the trip to try it today, along with a few other sushi rolls, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The Oh Baby Roll definitely didn't disappoint, but honestly, every roll we tried was delicious. This place is the best sushi place I've been to in the valley.. Don't let the empty plaza fool you. This place is a hole in the way. OH BABY ROLL. This place is delicious and brings back memories of a first date! They're also very personalized because of the old printed out pictures of people on the wall.
