Hours on website are wrong. Drove 45 min and had friends do the same for nothing. In the middle of nowhere. Disappointing & inconvenient.

The vibe is great, the decor is awesome, the food delivers consistently, and service rarely takes a day off -- it's just a solid place to go when you're up for some great southern comfort classics. Cocktails, delicious. The daily food specials make it refreshing. The oysters never disappoint. We've rarely had to wait long on any ordered items and servers are all top notch. My only minor complaint is some of the larger groups visiting can sometimes forget there are others in the restaurant. We don't need to hear your entire conversation about the latest office gossip.

*this review is only for crawfish, not their regular menu (which is amazing) *…read more We went here during crawfish season because they've been advertising their $8/lb crawfish, and we trusted that it would be great given the quality of their regular menu. We went on a Saturday for lunch. Hopefully this was just a one-off, but if you're looking for good Cajun boiled crawfish, this is not it. We started off with 6 lbs (group of 4) of their regular crawfish. First off, they put the Cajun seasoning on outside/shell (!!), which is a cardinal sin for Cajuns. They also minimally seasoned the boil, so the meat was lacking salt and flavor. We ordered 3 more lbs with the "wet sauce" (garlic butter), thinking the lack of flavor may be attributed to this being the first-ish batch of the day. Nope, the second batch was even less seasoned than the first. The sauce was good, but it didn't make up for the unseasoned meat. The crawfish were a good size, at least... Come on guys, I expect more from a Gulf Coast seafood restaurant!

In a great way!! Exceptional service, Hannah was our amazing server and has great recommendations :) We ordered oysters (all the Texas ones) to start. We were recommended the Big Tree by Hannah, and it ended up being our favorite! 10/10. The other Texan ones were also great. In terms of drinks, loved the paloma and espresso martini we ordered. Mixed perfectly for both. Loved the zest on the paloma glass. My husband loved his smoked octopus entree. I loved my crab cake. Not much or any filler, just pure crab and maybe a binding agent (egg?). Different from the east coast crab cakes I've had that use a loooot of bread crumbs and the cake can sometimes be dry as a result. This cake was moist and flavorful and paired with a perfectly made hollandaise. For dessert we got the basque cake, which is like a crispy pound cake surrounded by cherry preserves and crushed almonds. It was topped with a wonderfully decadent yet light cream cheese ice-cream. 11/10 will come back (and bring friends)!

Although the restaurant was not very crowded, the atmosphere was still very pleasant. The space is beautifully decorated, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, but overall, I am unsure if the experience was strong enough to make me want to return. To start, my mom and I ordered the Crispy Calamari and the Charred Octopus. The octopus was easily the standout dish of our meal. It was incredibly tender and flavorful, and it paired well with the other components on the plate, including the crème fraîche, chili crunch, potato, and chorizo. A staff member also came by to cut the octopus for us and recommended that we eat it with everything on the plate, which elevated the experience. That said, I would have liked a bit more of the chimichurri to help brighten the dish and cut through the richness of the cream and potato. Unfortunately, the calamari was very average in comparison. While it was fried well in terms of color, the batter was overly thick and overwhelming, especially since the calamari itself was overcooked. The excessive batter made it tough and difficult to chew, to the point where it was hard to cut with a fork. The seasoning was good and the portion size was generous, but the texture ultimately took away from the dish. We also ordered the Angus Cheeseburger, though by the time it arrived, we were already quite full from the generous portions of the appetizers. We still gave it a try, but it was fairly ordinary. The bun was very soft and there was plenty of sauce, the fries were soggy, and while the smashed patties were cooked well, nothing about the burger stood out. Overall, while the service and ambiance were enjoyable, the food was inconsistent and did not fully justify a return visit. Aside from the excellent octopus, most of the dishes were forgettable, making this a place I would likely skip in favor of more reliable options nearby.

They were hosting a special limited time beverage with grapefruit as the primary flavor and negroni. I didn't love it but I didn't hate it? I ordered a ceasar salad. It wasn't what I expected. It is definitely their version of a ceasar salad but it was fresh and tasted good I just probably wouldn't order it again. I also ordered chips and guac. It was pretty standard issue. But the chips were the star. They were thick and crunchy yum. Our waitress was helpful, attentive and friendly. I do think this restaurant lives up fo it's name. I'd try it again.

Parking ended up being easier than expected--street parking was free after 6 and we found a spot pretty quickly. We asked for a booth, but they told us the only one available was still occupied. The hostess gave us a couple options--either wait, sit in a more busy/noisy area, or go to what they call "the library," which is quieter and more intimate. We chose the library and I'm glad we did. It felt a lot more relaxed and away from all the noise. The place itself is really nice--very chic, good vibes. The bar area was pretty packed and the crowd was super diverse, which I liked. We ordered the crispy squid (calamari) to start--I'd give it like an 8/10. Flavor was good, just not as crispy as I expected. One of the hostesses actually came by and gave us complimentary Prosecco, which was a really nice touch. For mains, I got the 12 oz ribeye (asked for medium rare) with shrimp scampi--I'd say 7/10. Good portion, good flavor. My husband got the cowboy steak (medium), and we shared the gratin potatoes and creamy spinach. Both sides were also around a 7/10--solid, good portions, well-seasoned. The only thing was I think our steaks' doneness might've been switched. Mine came out medium and his was more medium rare. We told our server and we just ate it anyway, it was still good. We ended with crème brûlée--probably a 6/10 for me. It wasn't as smooth and velvety as I usually like, but still decent. Overall, I'd give the experience an 8/10. We enjoyed our time and I'd come back to try other things.

Something simple that should be an easy win. Unfortunately, everything leaned the same direction: either it was heavy, over-sauced, or overly garlicky. It tasted more like dressed-up frozen food than something thoughtfully prepared. And listen...I don't mind indulgent. But there still has to be balance and fresh food. Fresh like it was raw and delivered today, not fresh like fried in the last 15 mins. When everything is coated, covered, and competing, nothing actually stands out. The drinks didn't help either. They leaned hard on alcohol without much flavor behind them--more "this will get you there" than "this tastes good." Nothing was terrible. But nothing made me want another bite, either. And with seafood, that's kind of the whole point. The atmosphere is friendly, great music, and the service was very attentive. Even the presentation wasn't bad. It just wasn't enough. But at some point, you stop asking what's missing and just accept that it's not landing. I was still hungry so I went next door hoping for a better experience. I want to be clear: It's not bad. It's just not working.
