1/5 stars The service was good, and Helen was very helpful, kind, and attentive. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of our experience. The food was 1/5 at best. We ordered the rice plate with pork belly, chicken, and roasted duck. The roasted duck was extremely disappointing, the skin was slimy, and there was barely any meat. It was essentially skin and bones for $25, which was absolutely not worth the price. We also ordered three different dim sum dishes, and all of them were extremely oily and poor quality. Nothing tasted fresh or enjoyable. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not recommend spending your time or money here. The service was great, but the food was simply not worth it. $50 Down the drain. At least the food in the drain would taste better
The BBQ pork, roasted pork, and duck are really good! The way they cut it is not the thicker version, and the portion of meat they made is perfectly what we like. Not overly lean or overly fat. The roasted pork skin can be chewed through, and it's crunchy! The duck meat is easy to chew and flavorful. The sweet BBQ pork has a good fat ratio. They sell meat by the pound and can't go for half a pound. So it's not great for a small family that likes to try a variety of meats without the rice base. If you want to go for variety meat, it's better to choose their set. The staffs are friendly and quite efficient. The restaurant is clean and organized. The plaza is busy but has lots of parking.
I placed an ordered on their website. It was easy and simple. Went to pick up my order and it was ready within the estimated time. This place is take out only. There are couple of benches inside and a table outside next to the entrance. The food overall was ok. Bun to meat ratio is higher. They do have some interesting items. I saw the garlic savory fried chicken on the menu and got very interesting in what it was. It was nothing special. Reminded me of the fried chicken you can get from Chinese restaurants but with a bit more flavor. If comparing the dim sum items to ABC Bakery or Dim Dim (D&D), ABC and Dim Dim are better. The best item was their baked bbq bun. It is a little different than other places. Just needed more meat filling. They are ok overall. It is always a good thing to have more options in the area.
Ordered through Door Dash to just do a pick up. I ordered the Crispy Pork. It went pretty fast because when I got there it was ready. I snacked a few in the car on the way home. You can see in my photos, you'll see I ate about 1/4 of it. Once I got home I tasted the powder container with the pork. The powder tasted like lemon pepper mix. I am not quite sure but it did have a zest flavor. I really like it. It's pretty pricy but I don't blame them In this economy. But overall it was worth it. Love it and I'm coming back for more z. Maybe I'll try roast duck next time.
Heard good things about this place and wanted to try. The place is a to go restuarant. There are no chairs and tables. There is a kiosk to place your order or you can order at the counter. Once you place your order and pay for your items. You just wait for them to call your number. The wait varies, I waited for about 15 mins. Things are made to order. The roast items are already made ahead of time, but they have to prepare it for you. I'm sure the lines can get long. I ordered a few dim sum items, a whole roast duck, and some crispy skin pork belly. In order to purchase the pork belly, you will need to order a pound or more. They don't sell anything less than a pound. The roast duck was really good. The duck had a lot of flavor. I really liked it. I would order again. As for the roasted crispy pork belly, I would pass on that. The meat was dry. The crispy skin was not that crispy. It was bad. Not worth the $18 per pound. The dim sum items were mostly good. The only item I did not like was the pan fried taro cake. It had an oily after taste and it was greasy. It tasted like they used old oil to pan fry the taro. It was not good at all. The steamed bows were really good. The char siu was moist and not dry at all. Had a good flavor. The bun part was warm and soft. Good consistency. Everything else that we tried was pretty good. I would definitely come back for a roast duck and the egg tarts. Their egg tarts were really good. Hopefully, the second time I come, their food consistency is there, still good.
This place is mainly a take out location. There really isn't set up to dine inside. My wife went there to get us some food. She was in the mood for a pork bun. I also wanted to try their roasted duck , so that too. She ended up coming back with food over $100 dollars When she arrived there was no big line to order. She had no problem ordering but while she waited more people started lining up to get food. She didn't preorder , she just got there and picked stuff out. You can order online or before and have your order ready when you pick it up. We ended up with the Yankee Signature Roasted Duck . The whole duck at $36.25. It was so flavorful and I loved it. Lots of meat with some boney parts to. I certainly would get it again. Duck is my favorite. Now the pork belly wasn't very crispy. I don't we will get this again. Plus you have to get a pound or more. They wouldn't sell a half pound. So pass The Fluffy BBQ Pork Bun. The meat was nicely filled and yummy. I liked them to. Now the wife ordered the baked pork bun and it was different than I am used to. The bun had some herbs or something in the actual bun part. It had a different flavor which we both enjoyed. Another great one to get. The pork and shrimp Siumai was just ok . nothing different that other places. The Celery Shrimp Hagow was nice. The skin wasn't think and I liked it. Good flavor. Their Chicken Sticky Rice Lotus Wrap was filled nicely. There was filling inside the rice and outside along the wrap part .Loved it. The Baked Custard Egg Tart. Wow it was really creamy. It wasn't cooked all the way and gave it a runny middle which was a surprise but made it taste even better. The crust was the flaky type not the hard kind. This one was a plus. I would totally go again. The food was pretty good. And a new place in Elk Grove. Loved it
This spot is basically a quick grab and go dim sum place. When you walk in, it's really bright, clean, and spacious, but there's no indoor seating at all so just keep that in mind before coming. Everything is self serve and you order from the touchscreen kiosk in the corner. The setup is simple and convenient if you're in a rush, but it definitely gives more food court/takeout vibes than an actual dim sum experience. We ended up ordering a variety of things to try since the menu looked promising. Honestly, the food was just okay and nothing really stood out. The shumai and har gow were decent but pretty average and didn't taste super fresh or memorable. One order comes with 3 pieces. The BBQ pork was probably the biggest disappointment because it was extremely fatty with barely any meat in some pieces. The roast duck looked good visually with the crispy skin, but it honestly barely had flavor which was surprising. The pork bun also had this weird aftertaste that kind of threw me off after a few bites. The chow mein was actually one of the better things we ordered because the noodles had good texture and flavor, but the portion was super small for the price. Everything felt overpriced for what you get, especially considering its takeout style with no dine in service. Overall, I left feeling like I would rather spend a little more money at an actual dim sum restaurant where you can sit down and get fresher food with bigger portions. Nothing we had was terrible, but nothing made me want to come back either. It's not the worst option if you're nearby and want something quick, but for the prices they charge, I expected a lot better quality and portion sizes. Unfortunately this just wasn't worth it for me and I probably wouldn't return.
I went to Yang Kee during their soft opening. This restaurant is mainly a take out place with one table and a few chairs outside of the restaurant for someone who wants to have a quick sit down meal. The place looks clean and modern that gives a vibe of an upscale take out place. I ordered a few dim sum items for tea time: Crust Glutinous chicken dumpling, Seared shrimp and Chive potsticker, Pan fried taro cake and baked pineapple buns. Everything tasted fine except for the taro cake, which tasted like the cake was fried in old oil. I was so excited to see that item on the menu so I was disappointed. The restaurant prices seemed a little pricey but as a new restaurant, it's understandable that they priced their items at current inflationary prices. While waiting for the food to cook, I saw their crispy-skinned Cantonese whole roast ducks, char siu, soy sauce whole chicken and white cut whole chicken hanging by the window. The traditional presentation simply look gloriously shiny and enticing in a modern setting. I must return to get some of that for dinners. But the staff was simply wonderful. A group of 10 youngsters were working in the front showing how to provide fast services quietly through great teamwork. The cashier was particularly nice and patient when I suddenly experiencing that senior moments. It's the staff that I like about this place the most.
I made a second visit today and the quality dramatically went down. The main issue is that dishes with mushrooms were too slimy. Not because the mushroom wasn't fresh, but because it feels like they forgot to drain the mushroom before they mixed it with the other ingredients. It made the texture for my lotus wrapped chicken chicken have a weird texture. The deep fried beef balls barely has beef. The siu mai and hao gao did not taste as fresh as before. Yes, it is take out, but it did not felt as fresh as other places or as before. It feels similar to the grocery market ones where it sits out for a while.
I've been to the Yang Kee in Roseville once, and was excited to try this spot on the edge of EG! For this first visit on a Saturday late afternoon, they had a menu outside you could peruse, and paper menus to grab. People were standing/waiting to the left of the entrance by the window so I didn't actually see the kiosk option against the wall below the menu screens until later. The more obvious signage to "Order" at the counter was where I actually fell in line. The person ahead of me in line had some issues paying with cash but card payment was fine. Only one register. The duck, chicken, and pork all looked great, and they also have combos with rice or chowmein. Maybe add some chairs or benches for waiting, or a screen with order numbers and wait times/queue? I can't remember how long exactly it took to fulfill, but I didn't order any of the deli meats, only dimsum. For this first foray, tried their Fluffy BBQ Pork Buns (steamed), Sticky Rice & Chicken in Lotus Leaf, Pork & Shrimp Siumai, and Baked BBQ Pork Buns to-go. The steamed BBQ pork buns were my least favorite of the bunch, this order came with two pieces. The pork and shrimp shumai came with 3 pieces per order, and these were decently shrimpy and meaty, tasty albeit pale. The sticky rice had chicken and Chinese sausage and this was very good (2 pieces). The baked BBQ pork buns threw me off by looks since they had more of a flaky crust like a pineapple bun and some greenery dried herbs baked in rather than what I'd usually expect a baked BBQ pork bun to look like. The filling was pretty much the same as the steamed BBQ pork bun, but the flavor and texture of the baked bun was much much better going with it. For $20ish for 4 different dimsum items, this was pretty good. Mom was sad they didn't have chicken feet on the menu, though. Will definitely come back to try the duck, bbq pork, and crispy pork belly!
My partner and I are big fans of Yang Kee and love their restaurant in Roseville and Davis, so we were excited when a spot opened up in Sacramento. This spot isn't a sit down restaurant and is take out only. I'm all right with that as long as the food is just as good. This spot serves different food than the restaurant. It has a menu more similar to dimsum I would say. The inside was clean and had the classic large window where you can see the workers prepare food with roasted duck hanging on the window. You can order on a self-service screen or order at the front. Now to the food! I got the roasted crispy pork belly, an order of hargow, an order of siumai, fluffy bbq pork, and chicken sticky rice lotus wrap. The price was okay. The crispy pork was pretty expensive, but they do give you a good amount and it was delicious to eat with a side of rice. The hargow and siumai were good, nothing special though. Same with the lotus wrap, good but nothing special. The fluffy bbq baos were delicious and my partner even commented on how good they were. This was soft opening so I would still have to try their whole menu.
I've been patiently waiting for a few weeks after their grand opening to try this new dim sum & BBQ spot because I don't like to wait in long lines. I plan my visit on a weekday around 2pm and it was perfect timing with one or two customers in front of me. I overheard from the Aunties that they are very busy on the weekends. ROASTED DUCK If you know me, you know I love roasted duck. Yang Kee delivered! It wasn't too oily with glistening skin. Good seasoning and meat texture. I do prefer a little more sauce. The half portion was perfect for my family size. CHAR SIU (Sweet Honey BBQ Pork) I'm impressed! This reminds me of the Hong Kong quality. I like 70/30 or 80/20 ratios of meat/fat. It's sweet-savory glaze and charred with caramelized/burned edges. Loved it! You can order with the staff or by kiosk. Friendly staff. I like the set up with signs to line up and pick up area. I'll definitely be back to try their dim sum next.
Came by to check out the place and grabbed a few items... the store front is beautiful! It's open with clean clear windows to see the steamed and bbq'd duck and chickens hanging. Service was great. She took my order and answered some questions I had and food then was packed and ready in less than 10 minutes. I ordered half roasted duck, some bbq pork buns and the wasabi beef puffs . The roasted duck was delicious! So flavorful. I would order it again. The bbq pork buns was dense but very good too! The bbq pork inside was yummy and sweet/savory and the top was crispy. Delicious! The wasabi beef puffs were just ok . Barely any beef flavor.. tasted more of the pastry and hints of wasabi. Overall this is a great spot for some dim sum to go .. it's on the pricier side but I don't mind it if I can't make it to a dim sum restaurant.

Yang Kee never disappoints! The Crispy Pork Belly is absolutely amazing--the skin is perfectly crispy while the meat stays juicy and flavorful. The Roast Duck is also one of the best I've had, with crispy skin, tender meat, and great seasoning. Everything is always fresh, the portions are generous, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. If you're not sure what to order, definitely try the Crispy Pork Belly and the Roast Duck. I'll definitely be back! read more

Yay! Another Dim Sum and Chinese food options. At first I was hoping for a sit down dim sum place closer to home. However, this location does Take Out ONLY! There is one Kiosk to put in your order inside, otherwise wait in line for the one cash register. It's there soft opening currently so the have more people working inside than guest. Everything came out very quickly...for my test order the two items are ready in 5 minutes. Fluffy BBQ Pork bun: 4/5 - it's different the bun is semi-sweet and considered small for a to go price. Sweet Butter Coconut bun: 3/5 - coconut flakes cover the same sweet fluffy bun with custard inside. It's like eating a bun than a dessert and the custard is dry instead of creamy. The inside is definitely smaller so it's best to put in your order online and come pick up. The line for the BBQ items hanging took up half the restaurant so not much rooms to wait for your dim sum orders. I will definitely be back to try more dishes and BBQ plates. read more
This place is takeout-only, but the second you walk in and see rows of glossy roast ducks and ruby-red char siu hanging like edible trophies, you kind of forget you ever needed seating anyway. The interior is bright, clean, and modern--more polished than your typical BBQ spot. There's a long counter with a glass display showing off all the meats, and a simple queue setup that keeps things moving. It feels efficient like they know exactly what you came for and won't waste your time. The char siu is sweet, smoky, and cut into thick, juicy pieces that don't mess around. The empress chicken is tender and silky, sitting on a mountain of fragrant chicken oil rice with just enough ginger-scallion sauce to keep things interesting. And the soy sauce chicken offers flavorful silky skin with juicy meat inside, plus that little cup of sauce that somehow disappears way too fast. Portions are huge, like "I'll save some for later" and then you don't. Service is friendly and quick, even when it's busy, so you're in and out without feeling rushed. Only knock: the price. It's a bit higher than you'd expect for takeout. But to be fair, they're not exactly being stingy with the portions, so it softens the blow. Four stars, and a very full stomach. read more
Went to Yang Kee and got the rice plate with soy sauce chicken, roasted duck, and honey BBQ pork. The scallion oil rice was tasty and maybe the best part. Soy sauce chicken was our fave of the meats, tasted great. But the roasted duck and BBQ pork were pretty decent and could've used more flavor. Still, we're happy to have dim sum and hot food nearby. Portions were decent and it wasn't expensive. Good enough for a quick meal. read more
We tried the siu mai, beef kimchi potstickers, and ham sui gok and also a plate with chow mein, roast duck, and soy sauce chicken. My husband loved the sui mai. I really liked the potstickers. The dim sum tasted fresh. The chow mein didn't have much flavor but cooked well as in the noodles had a satisfying bite. They gave some pickled radish which I found refreshing. The soy sauce chicken was okay but the duck was not good. Very little meat, mostly at and bones. While it's pricey for what you get, I will come again to try more of their stuff but never getting the duck again. read more

I came here to order a few things to try. I got the half duck, half soy sauce chicken, and 1 lb of the honey bbq pork. The duck had a lightly crispy skin, but I felt like it was lacking flavor. Pouring the duck sauce over it made it a little better, but I still thought it was too fatty and didn't have a lot of meat. The soy sauce chicken was juicy and had good meat though, but I did not like the sauce it came with. The chicken also lacked flavor. The honey bbq pork was on the drier side, and it was different because it had thinly sliced kaffir lime leaves on it. I honestly did not care for the lime leaves because it gave the pork an odd taste. Overall, I may be biased, but I still prefer Tealicious a lot more. Even though this place is convenient and close to my house, I would rather make the drive to Freeport for my duck and soy sauce chicken because they are always consistent. read more
This picture is posted in response to the manager/owners comment to my original review. Look at the photo on the left compared to photo on the right. A drop of brown colored grease doesn't equal providing sauce compared to another customer's yelp photo. I was genuinely curious how the empress Chicken sauce was as I never had it before at this restaurant. I've had empress Chicken at many restaurants and liked their sauces but this one was never provided so I can't rate it. Most empress Chicken sauce are green but this one isn't. read more

Love their location in Roseville and heard they open a local spot in EG so had to check it out ! It's a takeout spot for some dimsum items and bbq ! I purchase some dimsum item to try but thought it was just okay prefer other sit down dimsum spot. I was so looking forward to the steam cake but it was salty not sweet and on the dry side The roasted duck and soy sauce chicken was pretty good , reasonable priced and large portion ! I'm glad their a bbq deli meat option in EG, will have to come back to try other bbq items! read more
Ive have been keeping an eye on this place to open and it finally did! You order and wait for your number to be called. It was relatively quick and efficient. Place is clean bright and sleek. I ordered the duck, roasted pork. Shumai , hargow some steam buns and egg tart and have no complaints all real good and fresh. I have to say the eggs tarts were the best ive tasted flaky pastry with creamy filling yum! Will be back again to try other things on the menu read more
We decided to stop by Yang Kee after seeing some delicious looking pictures on social media. There is a menu posted outside for you to view and when you walk in you can either fall in line to order at the counter or use the kiosk to the left to place your order. This spot is strictly take out...but there is one tiny table outside. Today we tried steamed pork buns, pork and shrimp shumai, shrimp and chive dumplings, and a Lucky Plate with honey bbq pork and crispy pork belly over jasmine rice. Food didn't take long at all. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. We definitely want to go back and try more goodies. What have you tried? read more

I got 2 fortune bowls, one with chow mein and orange chicken, the other plate with chow mein and duck. The food itself was pretty good and they give out good portions, but they can improve on their timing. I had to wait 27 mins for my food, which I think is outrageous considering the amount of food that I ordered. There were some ppl in there but it wasn't too busy. Some ppl who ordered after us got their food first, which I think is crazy. Please try to do better, if I knew I had to wait that long I would have not gone. read more

Tried this place today and gotta say it was pretty good overall. It's a takeout only place, so you can either place your order online or at the in-store kiosk; there are no tables/places to sit inside and only one small table outside. We ordered 9 items and only didn't care for two of them (the veggies were good but way overpriced and the sweet and sour pork was soggy, not warm, and not saucy at all). The highlights were definitely the shumai (legit some of the best shumai I've had) and the baked bbq pork buns. We will be back for sure! New Chinese bbq and dim sum take out restaurant. This new business is in the Safeway plaza on Elk Grove Florin road. Small customer area because they specialize in take out orders. They offer roast duck, bbq pork, ribs, roast pork, boiled chicken, soy sauce chicken and lots more! Tried some dim sum: Fried shrimp balls - nice and big. Very crunchy. Would get this again. Sticky rice - 2 in an order. Toddler approved. Shrimp and chive dumpling - it was ok. Would skip this next time. Lots of grease since it's pan seared. Roast duck - a bit pricey but for the convenience....i would get it again. Nice and meaty. Skin a bit crispy. They had lots of employees working. Short wait. I love the kiosk in the store to order take out. They also have combo plates. Limited Chinese food such as broccoli beef, sweet and sour pork, orange chicken and such. Very busy atmosphere since the workers are running around and gathering orders. Love their take out utensils. It's sealed! Oh - last note. I'm glad we have a place like Yangkee in Elk Grove. It's not always easy to find Chinese dim sum and Cantonese BBQ without driving into Sacramento, so having a local spot is really convenient. Whenever I'm craving roast meats or dim sum to-go, it's nice to have an option close by that makes grabbing Chinese food quick and easy. The ordering process is simple, parking is convenient, and it's great for picking up food when you're short on time. Definitely a welcome addition to the Elk Grove area for anyone looking for traditional Chinese takeout. read more
