This is a fairly small restaurant located in a strip mall off Laguna blvd. It's just a solid Vietnamese place that I've been to a number of times. One nice thing about this place is that they keep it nice and cold inside the restaurant so it's just fine eating a big hot bowl of pho even in the middle of summer. - Pho Tai: Have I had better? Sure, but the pho here is solid. I love that the bean sprouts, thai basil, and lime served alongside it are always very fresh. Unusually so. I've grown accustomed to somewhat questionable produce served with my pho. - Banh mi with grilled pork: a good banh mi. The bread is excellent. The pork is tasty. The produce is fresh. Thumbs up. - egg rolls: these are unlike any egg roll I've ever had. The outside is a lattice of crispy rice goodness. And the inside has a yummy grilled flavor to the pork. When I got this as an appetizer though, it was sitting in an unpleasant puddle of oil (like they should've let it drain off before plating it). They also serve these with some of the bun dishes. Quick friendly service! We ordered Lychee & Lemonade, Thai Tea, Egg rolls, Pork & Shrimp Spring rolls Pork and Shrimp Pho Tai, Pho Ribeye and a Pork & Shrimp Bun. The drinks came out quickly as well as the Pho bowls. The Pho portions were large and served steaming hot. Next came the appetizers. The Egg rolls were the lacy crunchy type which is not common in Hawaii. A bit greasy. Would have loved the rolls to have been drained better. I was told they were tasty. The Pork and Shrimp rolls were hefty rolls that is served with a peanut sauce. I was told the peanut sauce was just ok. Those who tried it commented that the shrimp was seasoned and not just blanched. My Pork and Shrimp Bun was essentially a deconstructed spring roll sans the rice paper wrapper so I did not partake in the apps. My dish was also a generous portion. Over half came home with me for tomorrow's lunch. I inquired what the pickled jalapeño and garlic condiment was supposed to be used for as I also saw this at another pho restaurant we tried in Elk Grove. The server said any dish! This is my Elk Grove go to spot for pho! The service is always fast never a long wait, and never any issues with my order. The grilled shrimp spring rolls are one of a kind I love how they have chives in the middle. This place isn't the biggest but I love that about it. I usually go alone and sit in the corner set my phone up, put my earphones in and watch tv while I enjoy my nice hot bowl of pho tai (rare steak) and grilled shrimp spring rolls mmm so much comfort it gives me every-time I take a trip there. Lastly I've recently tried their Thai iced tea and it was DELICIOUS! For someone who doesn't care those drinks too much it was great! Speaking of pho I'm overdue for my next fix. One of our favorite spots that my husband and I keep coming back to whenever we're in town. The food is consistently solid, food always comes out hot, flavorful, and comforting. The broth has that slow-simmered taste that makes it feel like a real go-to, not just a quick meal. Their menu is simple & not overwhelming, yet still offer many dishes. The service is another reason we don't really stray elsewhere. The staff are always friendly without being overbearing, and they check in at the right times. Okay this place has been in our backyard for years and I don't know why this is the first time we've tried it, it's so good and their portions are great! Had lunch on a Thursday with 6 friends a little wait for the table it wasn't so bad. Place has only a few tables but everything looked clean and inviting. We ordered A variety of dishes and 2 appetizers. The pork eggrolls were outstanding crispy on the outside with flavorable filling. I had a noodle dish sorry don't know the name But really enjoyed it I asked for clear noodles it had ground pork and shrimp and all The aromatics went for the soup on the side which is so much better as you can control The amount of broth. Came here for the Bun Rieu based on a friends recommendation. And I'm happy to say it did not disappoint! The portion was huge, I couldn't finish and took the rest home. The remainder of my leftovers filled the entire to-go full container! Love all the different things that's included, especially the pork blood. My husband ordered their pho dac biet but was disappointed that the broth was way too sweet and a bit too salty as well. The noodles in the pho weren't good either. I'd stuck to the bun rieu for this place. I didn't like the bathroom experience, it's at the end of a long narrow hallway that's crowded with stuff, so there's not enough room for when people are walking in the opposite direction. The big three B's here (the BBB): Bun Rieu, Bun Bo Hue (BBH) and Banh Mi Xiu Mai are my go-to items. Soupwise, the broth of the bowls has good depth of flavor, perfect portion size and the accompanying veggie tray has all the right herbs. BBH for instance, has a generous portion of authentic pork blood and ultra tender beef slices; the addition of a small spoon of hot chili oil rounds it all out. Banh Mi Xiu mai is Vietnamese meat balls in tomatoey red sauce that pairs heavenly with the crunchy crusted french bread. On another note, the egg rolls, though crispy, contain an oily taste that does not agree with me so I am not a fan of that one. The fresh springs rolls on the other hand, are great. Servers - ultra nice and accommodating. Dining room is kept in reasonable order and generally clean each time I have visited. Pho Bistro is now a place I frequent when craving the BBB. read more

Pho Bistro was recommended to us by a Vietnamese friend, so we knew we had to try it! We both got the #2 pho bowl with the usual combination of meats. I love tendon, and Pho Bistro got it right! The tendon was so soft, and all the meats were cut to the right size and thickness. The broth here is slightly sweet but perfectly balanced, I would say. It's not a heavy broth, but there's definitely lots of beefy flavor. For condiments, they had sliced chilies in vinegar, which I love if I want some extra sourness in my soup that day. I thought the amounts of beef, noodles, and broth were just perfect. They have "lonely" bowls with just noodles and broth, including a version on the kids menu for $7. I appreciated that they brought a basket with utensils for all of us, including scissors and forks for the girls (without us needing to ask). Service was friendly and kind.
