If you're on the hunt for great food at a good price, Yardhouse's happy hour can't be beat. The portions are large and filling and are fun to pair with their drinks. I especially recommend going with a group and ordering a ton of food to share. My go-tos are usually the frachos (pro tip: order chicken nachos but swap out the chips for fries), poke nachos, and wings. This time, I ordered their garlic noodles and they were amazing. Horrible experience last night after waiting over an hour to be seated, asked for my sliders to be well done because I can't see pink in my burger at all even though that's how people like it. This is what I was brought..After informing my waiter and asking him for them to be re-made WELL DONE again, this is what I was brought the second time around. I had one of my best meals out in a few years...nevermind meals delivered in... and it was outstanding as was the service. We were a group of 10 adults. My daughter and I shared an Appetizer, Firesomething shrimp which was great and the Thai porkchop which was the best PC any of us who had a taste felt was the best PC they had ever had! The cauliflower and vege side was great too! We added Caesar salad for $3.99 to share! The table finished it! Awesome evening, except SF & G we're playing so REALLY LOUD! Thank you for a great meal! We got there and knew it would be a wait. That was okay until they said it would only be 15-20 minutes and then made us wait for almost 35 minutes. They even say big parties that came in right after us before us. The food was the highlight of the night but my drink the watermelon margarita was supposed to not have salt and they put salt and sugar. Plus they didn't measure the alcohol because it was way to strong. The server barely check on us. Sad to say this was not a great experience. read more

Yard House is my wife and I's go-to happy hour spot whenever we make our way to Ventura/Oxnard. I've got to say that yesterday's experience stood out from the rest, and it was thanks to the bartender Kaela! Despite being a busy Tuesday, Kaela welcomed us right as we sat down and gave me some great suggestions for Stout beers. Unable to decide between them, Kaela gave me 3 tasters to try out. I decided to go with the Topa Topa Tux which I found out is actually from a local brewery. My wife is on opposite spectrum and prefers sour beers (yuck), and Kaela recommended the Petris Passionfruit sour, which my wife absolutely loved! Kept it simple for food, and got the Miguel's Queso Dip on Happy Hour which hit the spot. Overall it was another great experience at Yard House that was highlighted by Kaela's friendly service, and for her taking the time to talk to us and give us recommendations even on a busy holiday evening. Our waiter was great, and managed to handle our large group with ease, he even offered to keep the checks seperate to make things go smoothly when we were ready to pay. I really love that they have so many vegetarian options. Many dishes on the menu can be substituted with gardein faux meat. They also have a decent selection of lower calorie and healthy options. My boyfriend and I were hungry so we decided to go here to have an early dinner since he has never been here before. Our server was okay, she did her job but that was kind of it, nothing special. We ended up getting the cheese artichoke dip for our appetizer and that was decent, not bad. My boyfriend got the bleu cheese and bacon burger, and I got the pepper Jack. Our burgers came out and they looked ok. The bleu cheese and bacon burger looked a little sad. The arugula did not look fresh, it looked wilted but he still wanted to eat it to not cause any trouble. Burgers were ok. Just ok. After we left he started to say his stomach was feeling weird, but maybe because we ate too much. That was not the case, he got sick and started throwing up when he got home. That burger was the only meal he has really eaten so not hard to say that's what made him sick. He still feels sick from that meal. I Can say we will not be returning due to this experience and also because the food is just ok or less than. Update: I also got sick and am throwing up. I prefer to only come during happy hour or late night happy hour, because that's when prices are more reasonable. Generally there is a wait time of 10-20 minute, unless you go during odd hours. There is always plenty of seating styles available, depending whether you want to sit outside, by the bar, in a diner table setting or bar stools and table arrangement. Servers have always been generally knowledgeable and friendly. They tend to be well acquainted with drink selections and are great at making suggestions if you aren't sure what you want or are feeling adventurous. The food is not a culinary masterpiece but it honestly is pretty tasty; so much so that I started off writing this as a 4 star review but then I thought of how well put together my poke nachos and street tacos were last night, and I changed this to 5 stars! They offer samples of the beers if I recall correctly. Tons of tv screens and various channel options. They celebrate birthdays. I'm sure you can make reservations. We have always enjoyed YH! Since we found this gem in LA by Staples Center to when it opened here in our hometown. Yesterday we had early brunch to celebrate my husbands birthday, it being a holiday weekend and all we wanted to start our Sunday Funday early. We were greeted and served by "Sarah" she was the sweetest, she was on point, so good we let the manager know. Always acknowledge great service especially during these times, it's not an easy job and we appreciated her great service and attention to our party! Not too impressed with this yard house. Service was great but the food... meh was just ok, and was not worth the price to be honest. My friend ordered the vodka shrimp pasta and I ordered the short rib raviolis. What I ordered was pretty good and was a large portion so I'm not really complaining about what I ordered, but my friend and I decided to Shae entrees. The vodka shrimp pasta that she had ordered looked great, the taste however was not very good and had an odd taste , very hard to explain the taste and whatever it had in it that threw it off. The price of that pasta was also a little ridiculous, especially for not being that great. I would think something like that for that price would have included the large prawns or something even. On side note, I'm pretty disappointed that they got rid of the beer that tastes like fruity pebbles. This beer use to be well know when I'd ask for it, and now the past two times none of the servers know what I'm talking about when I ask for it.. Beef short rib meat is a very tough meat and must be cooked on low heat for a very long time. Unfortunately I think they just stir fried the meat and it was so tough it was like chewing on a rubber band. Management...please change how this meat is prepared. It is too tough to eat. read more

Been here a few times and it hasn't disappointed yet. With or without kids, the service here is usually pretty good except for the really really peak hours where you might have to wait longer than expected for a drink or beer. The food is pretty consistent with other Yard House restaurants and the beer always ice cold. We love coming here, wish it was a little closer though. read more

When I think Yard House: TVs, Sports, Beer, better than decent food, loud, and busy with a long wait.  Well, this location didn't let me down on any of those key points except for the wait -- seated right away outside! My gf and I had our little doggy with us, and was allowed as a service dog. Very cool. Inside is designed open and industrial, with very tall ceilings. I like. Oxnard is cooler than most cities, and with the extremely hot weather we've been having, 72 degrees at 130pm with a cool breeze was most welcomed. I love. No beers for me (this time), but with Passion Fruit Ice Tea [$3.25] in-hand, the large front & back menu has all kinds of good stuff to choose from (fish & chips, great salads, a dozen veggie entrees, apps). Previously, I've ordered the Spinach Cheese Dip [$12.75, 4.5 stars], Fried Calamari [$11.95, 4.0 stars], and the Spicy Jambalaya [$14.45, 4.0 stars]. This time, the BERGER KNOWS tried the one of the burgers, and they have a dozen to choose from. KUROBUTA PORK BURGER: spicy candied bacon, cheese, arugula, blueberry ketchup, and fries. Served, perhaps, as the shortest burger amongst the 172 I've tried in the world, it was a little bit of a bore even with all the effort to make it unique. It mostly missed seasoning and texture. I added salt and raw onion, and it was then good not great. The quality was there, but I wouldn't order this one again. Chose booze over boobs. Met a group up and had to decide between heartburn from bra or drink and free them puppies... chose to drink since yard house has a good variety of beers. Food portions are small but would recommend coming here for happy hour and drinks since happy hour has half priced apps and they have lots of beers to chose from. Truffle burger could use more truffle flavoring. The truffle flavor was lite. Size of the burger felt small and doesn't seem like it was meant to fill you up. The truffle fries were better than most places that make them ( they use truffle oil vs truffle salt) but the truffle flavor was a hit or miss. Some fries taste like truffles some taste like regular fries. Pepper crusted steak was super tender. You could have dentures and not struggle to eat this. The peppercorn was whole and not crushed so wife didn't have fun eating this- she ended up giving me the filet to eat. In summary come here for happy hour. read more

Ate here today. The service was fine, but a bit disappointed with the food. I ordered the club sandwich, it seemed more expensive than last time and the sandwich was much smaller. I did pay about $20 for the entree, tax & tip. My friend ordered 2 tacos a la carte & a soda- her bill was the same as mine- about $20 with tax & tip. Ridiculous that her meal costs the same as mine and I had 3x as much food as her. They should have told her how expensive the food was. Next time, we won't be eating at Yardhouse since there are plenty of better deals at Red Robin and Cheesecake Factory. About 5 visits now and I'll say that the food, burgers in particular, are quite good. A little inconsistent is all, I've ordered the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger 3 times and this most recent time it was noticeably drier. Overall though I'm always pleasantly surprised at how yummy the food is. Atmosphere is a little too dark for my personal tastes no matter what time of day, and the acoustics can really make sitting down to eat a much noisier affair than really necessary if you're just stopping by for a lunch. That said more than alright when it comes down to dinner and drinks with your buds. Brussels sprouts and potatoes Fried calamari Carnivore pizza Chicken lettuce wraps The first three was like eating rubber: chewy Brussels sprouts, chewy calamari, chewy pizza. Another word about the pizza: the tomato sauce was strangely very tart and "carnivore" is a gross overstatement. Lastly, the chicken lettuce wraps were not good. Incredibly boring, so make sure to incorporate the pickled veggies and sauces that come on the side. Even then, the whole thing was a basic yawn. The lettuce leaves were dripping wet, we had to shake off the excess water each time. The portions are large, but if the food isn't good then it's just a waste. More cons: Freezing interior. It was already chilly outside and stepping inside was worse Overly done industrial decor TV screens everywhere Impersonal tablet staring at you on the table through which you pay for your meal Music was really loud So yeah, this was not a relaxing nor inviting place. Furthermore, a note to all the restaurants out there using tablets on their tables: please get rid of them. Whenever I see them, the message I get is "Don't bother us! Here just eat your food, pay through this screen and leave without bothering anyone. We're just a big chain looking to increase our profit margin by sacrificing your quality of service." But Yard House, why do you have several hostesses at the front then? None of them greeted us with a word, let alone a smile. Instead they just looked at us apathetically until one girl begrudgingly gathered the menus and the cutlery. We actually weren't even sure to follow her because she didn't say anything. Came in with a group of friends. We had a super long day and needed to unwind and get a bite and a drink. We walked in and although it was a little busy, we were seated promptly. Hostess was friendly. Our server Kaela approached us as soon as she noticed us, greeted us with a smile and offered us a drink. Even after us asking a million questions on the beers, she never seemed to be annoyed. We ended up having a few drinks while watching the game, but ultimately did not order food. Beers were on point. Stopped by for an absolutely delicious dinner. I was told 30 minutes for the wait but was paged in about 15. Started with the crispy traditional Buffalo wings which were seriously tasty. They have quite the kick so be aware. The house salad was good and fresh. My BBQ bacon cheddar burger was crazy good and the portion was very generous, they're definitely 1/2 pound as the menu says.
