Yard Houses are known for their beers on tap. I personally love the la fin de monde Unibroue beer and so happy that most of the time it's available on tap here! Plus, since I don't want to drink tons of such a heavy beer, it's nice that they have the different sizes to choose from! I opt for the 5-ounce "Shorty," but they have the 12-ounce "Goblet," 16-ounce Pint, and their popular Half-Yard. Beer flights are also available in "Six Pack" variations that rotate every so often. The food here is just ok. Nothing special. For me it's always hit or miss but it's a corporate place, so that's to be expected. If you can come here during happy hour, it's more worth it bc then I feel the pricing for the food feels more justified. Large location with outdoor seating makes it a good place for groups. Yard House is epic and I plan on coming back many many more times. I went here on Friday night, only the second night they have been open, and I was not let down. While the servers are still under training, the level of customer service was top notch. To many beers to choose from, hopefully I can make a round through all of them! The food was pretty good. My pepper-crusted Gorgonzola burger was juicy, the mushrooms on it where fresh, and the fries where crispy and delicious. The only nit pick I had was my girlfriends Vodka Shrimp Pasta was sub par. The sauce didn't have a good flavor and the shrimp was kind of gummy. All in all it was great, even with the busy just opened crowed everything seemed to pull of without a hitch! This place deserves a lot of love. Hands down, I have not received service (or food) this good in a long, long time. I went out with my husband and our two kiddos this evening for dinner. We have been to the Oxnard Yard House once before and decided to go again because they have so many options for vegetarians and a heck of a lot of good beers. Everyone was super polite seating us, got our first round of beers right away. Our server, Dani, was as sweet as can be. When we got our food, my order was wrong. It was really loud, so understandably the server misheard my order. They immediately sent the wrong order back and comped my meal, as well as my husband's second beer. I cannot say enough good things about the service and the food. We aren't even a sporty family and love this place, despite the sports-oriented atmosphere. Definitely will be back many times. We always look forward to a quick late afternoon lunch/happy hour. After being served dirty plates at Lazy Dog, we refuse to ever go there again. So it usually Yardhouse or BJ's. Haven't been to the Yardhouse for a couple of weeks and we always comment how the food is either " hit or miss". But we decided to again go as the service is usually decent. I was sick after being served a beer in the most dirtiest glasses. My husband too had a filthy glass and we both didn't realize until we drank almost half of our beer. Didn't the bartender and server notice ? It was soo disgusting and then I was served cold nachos. Plate was hot, it was like they picked them out of the garbage. I don't know what was going on as the waitress forgot the sour cream. It didn't matter, the place was aweful that day. Hubby had a grilled turkey and cheese sandwich. Again cold and nasty. I had been looking forward to this opening as i have had positive experiences at other YH. All i can say is ugh.. We went on Friday around 3:30 knowing it would be happy hour. It's nice inside, still clean and new and doesn't feel totally cramped like BJ's. Big booths for groups. Husband ordered beer then after 10 min of waiting another guy came said all tapped out, so he ordered another. Took another 5-10 min and it wasn't that busy??!? Food took forever and then it was cold!! I wasn't that hungry ordered 2 fish tacos (swordfish & baja). Also a pizza, half price for hh and mac n cheese for kid. Tacos were ice cold and tasted awful I should have known better its my own fault. Macncheese what a joke it was so greasy and yuk kid wouldn't touch it and then his poor french fries were cold too. My father and brother live in Oxnard, I came to visit in July when they opened. Now to all my Yard House fans, I never been to a yard house where they conducted such business. We Came on a Saturday around 6:30pm. When we arrived they had ropes to form a line to put your name on the list and to receive a buzzer, which seemed normal. Now I have my buzzer but since it was crowded inside to wait for a table, the only logic thing to do, would to wait outside right? Bouncer said if you come outside you would have to wait back in line when your buzzer alerts WTF! The wait was about 2 hours so we just left. I was disappointed anyways with the service they provided. Ok folks I believe in second chances, I'm back in town (August), I think I learned my lesson last month, and they been open more than 30 days since July 11 2013. It's Friday wanted to go for happy hour, So I decided to call to reserve a table just in case you know..... Response was unfortunately we do not make reservations because were to new! I thought grand openings lasted for 30 DAYS, correct me if I'm wrong. So despite no reservation we walked over to see what we might run into. We arrived around 3:45 no wait, seated outside ( my preference) Food was enjoyable. I've been to YH in Vegas, NV, in L.A. and the new location in Marina Del Rey and never experienced that type of atmosphere. Listen. Back when yard house first opened I thought it was really good. But as time has gone on it's gotten worse and worse. It's very expensive for the quality of food you're getting and it's always way too loud during dinner hours (and dark) that I feel like I'm shouting just trying to have a conversation. Service was the only reason they didn't get a 5 star. The whole time he seemed like he had something better to do even though there was barely anybody there. The food was wonderful! We had the poke nachos as an spirited and as promised, they did not disappoint. The tacos were pretty small and definitely not enough for a grown man as a whole meal. I love Yard House! The food is great, and the beer selection is amazing! If you are a fan of gorgonzola, try the grilled cheese; it comes with a yummy tomato bisque, and you will def be satisfied with this adult version of a grilled cheese sandwich. The boneless buffalo wings with a order of truffle fries on the side is amazing also. The truffle fries are def something to try for some flavorful fries (garlic, parsley, and yumminess). The truffle burger is also really good, along with many of their other burgers. You can always order a good appetizer, like the onions rings, or the chicken nachos. The chicken nachos are a huge portion, so be ready to share with 3 plus. There is a good menu for the kiddies to choose from, and also affordable. The kids the option of a dessert to compliment their meal, which is between a yummy rice-crispy type dessert with oreos to a mini sundae. My only complaint would be that the place does get pretty busy, and when that happens, the service isn't as good as it could be. read more

My boys and I have been here a couple times. The first two times we came in we got the same waitress. She was amazing, attentive, took time to talk to my kids a bit when they would talk to her every time she came to the table. She boxed the food for us that my boys didn't finish and was quick with service. The third time we went again we had an awesome waitress who was quick and very attentive. They were both amazing for listening to my son when he mentioned his possibly fruit allergy and made sure his food or drinks were nowhere near fruit contact. So went in and first surprise was the nice decor, then the great server, his name Adam. He was so accommodating, best service at a time when it got busy fast. He never forgot or neglected us and was so helpful. If I wasn't sure about the preparation of the item on the menu he assured they could fix it how I would like it. I had a bite and it was still one of the most tasty tender pieces I have had in a whike. He immediately came to us and asked us how everything was. We kindly told him it was great but Luke warm. Loved the atmosphere-spacious, some big party tables for big groups, generous booth sizes and plenty of elbow room. I hate eating in overly tight quarters, Tried the Surf and Turf Burger just because it was unique. And unique it was! Flavorful Lobster, wilted leaf spinach, cheddar cheese and a perfectly cooked burger. The texture of the bite was worth the trying of this dish. Mixing the chewy lobster with a quality course ground beef and a perfect bread to meat ratio was amazing. The lobster itself did not take over the burger but added a texture change that was really pleasant. Huge serving of the truffle fries, more that enough for two. Hubby had the bacon burger and it fared high marks. Side salad was a real value. Plenty enough to share. Loved the beers on tap. Our server was knowledgable and helped pair us beautifully with the dining selection. All in all-this is a winning experience at the Yard House. read more

I've been to Yard House three times. The first time I was there I felt a little rushed, I'm guessing it had to do with the fact that it was a Saturday night and they were busy. The following times I was there I had great service. My only complaint would be the hostess, she was not doing her job. She had all these people up front and didn't ask any of us how many people needed to be seated. I had to repeatedly tell her I had 4 people with me and she still got it wrong. It was a little frustrated. By the time we made it to our table everything went as smoothly as can be. We had a great waitress (Elaine) and she always made sure we had enough to drink and kept coming back to check on us. Ok so tried this place a couple of times since my last post & happy hour the servers & staff are on it. Today was one of the worst service days ever & it wasn't too busy. My friend & I came before dinner rush around 4:30. I ordered a glass of wine and it took over 25 mins to get my wine after I ordered and the glass smelled like eggs, but that wasn't a big deal. We also ordered some Poke nachos which were delicious but took another 25 mins to get to our table. The took our silverware, however they never brought it, I had to get up & ask for new silverware. We both ordered burgers. I ordered my burger to be done medium which was prepared well done, because it was sitting under a lamp as my burger was cold. The oil used to toast my bun was old as it had that off flavor. The bacon jam was nonexistent. I had to ask the waitress for lettuce and tomato as I was told it came with the burger but I didn't get. The garlic fries are not prepared with fresh garlic but rather garlic salt which is fine but kind of disappointing & I wish the waitress would have said it was an additional charge or I would have not ordered it, it's not worth it. I mean I uber stand if your changing shifts & what not but no one Checked on our table, the mangers never came by but were roaming and we saw them but never bothered to come to our table. I'm seriously disappointed. The other yard houses are far more superior. So I have been to several yard houses in Pasadena, irvine & Los Angeles and to a few New York and New Jersey. Usually the place is fun with great food and drinks. So I decided to go to the Oxnard yard house for my birthday celebration thinking it would be fun and we would get good food and drinks! Unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. The service was good and the drinks were good, but the food which is normally delicious was a total disappointment. My family and I, as a he feral rule never send food back, due to the fear of retaliation by chefs or servers, we told the staff tonight that everything was fine, when in actuality it was terrible. I ordered the pan seared ahi and it was way over cooked. Usually when I order this dish it is very very rare tonight it was almost completely cooked. It was like having a cooked tuna filet on the plate, instead of a nice sashimi sushi style. My parents both ordered the halibut which is usually moist and delicious. I think the chef was new or overwhelmed as both their halibut was really over cooked and dry to the point it could have been Jerky. They were grateful that the chef drenched their plates with sauce, it looked like soup as that was the only way it was edible. The plating was also bad as they just pilled everything on top of a bowl of mashed potatoes. When we have ordered this dish at other yard houses it is generally elegantly plated and not drown in sauce. My family told the waiter it was my birthday and he even carded me, and he failed to offer their special dessert which my family would have paid for and actually wanted to embarrass me. It seemed like the restaurant was rushing everyone out as they brought the check before asking if we wanted anything else, which our party did stay and had several drinks after the meal. I mean I understand it's Friday night but if a party's bill is $$$ and they are willing to continue to spend then take care of them. I don't think I will come back to this location to eat, which is Too bad because I normally really like the yard house and this one is in Ventura county. read more

Mac and cheese is the way to go! Even the small portion is huge! The front desk service is very friendly and the layout of the venue is beautiful. The bathroom is very clean but parking it difficult on a poppin night. For any new arrivals call ahead of time to see the wait time and check out the menu online. The wings on the appetizers you got to get the fireworks (I think it's fire something ) flavor!! The meat of lamb burger is so soft. My BF got the 12 oz sirloin with shrimp even though I talked him into the shrimp. He ordered his steak rare and it came out medium rare which he sent back. The second one was still raw in the middle and ice cold. The manager, Logan, personally came over, apologized, took it back to the kitchen and stayed there until the chef was done with the third steak (we see seated near the kitchen so we noticed this), which was perfect! The steak was served with brocolini and mashed potatoes which were both very good. We also ordered the French onion soup which was also very good. The bartenders are always on top of it with drink refills, they really know their stuff and are always quick to offer suggestions which is helpful given their extended menu. I freakin love this place!! Came here the day it opened for my bday 7/11 and wait time wasn't bad. Our food arrived pretty fast. I had ordered Gradein wings and I guess it was taking more than average time because the manager came and apologized for the wait. Honestly, I didn't even notice and plus they were AWESOME!!!!! Came here the second night it was open and expecting the normal opening weekend trouble. Yard House had it together. They were well staffed and had no food or drink mix ups. The wait was 1 hour 45 mins but were seated pretty quickly. After getting my first (of 4) beer(s), I got the pepper jack burger with a lettuce wrap, medium rare. And wow. It was actually medium rare. It was a delicious burger. Our waitress was attentive even though it was quite busy. The atmosphere was classier than a typical pub/sports bar but still was enjoyable and slightly noisy, but that was expected with a full house.
