First time eating at a Yard House ever and my experience was outstanding! My wife and I wanted to have a night out and have some drinks, maybe a few appetizers so we figured we'd try it out there. We were sat by a young lady named Ashley who was more than happy to answer all the happy hour questions we had as well as give us a couple recommendations on food items we should get. Normally when we ask those sorts of questions to a hostess we get 'ask your server' or 'I'm not sure' so the fact that she knew her stuff was very surprising and appreciated. She was a pleasure the short time that we were with her. Our server was another young lady named Stef, who was also very good. She greeted us and took our drink order right away. Took about 10 mins to get our beers and 15 to get our food. We'd expected longer because of how busy it was. I got the chicken nachos and my wife got sliders, both were very good. Our server was constantly checking up on us and made sure we were well taken care of. Only complaint is the noise level inside. Sitting on the patio would be the way to go if you were looking to have a quieter place to talk because of how loud the music is inside. Decent experience today. Have had better here previously. One of the hostesses was super off putting and rude. Our server was very sweet and attentive, especially for how many people she had in her section. The first round of drinks took a bit but refills were quick. Took my husband for lunch last Saturday. The only reason 3 stars is because of service. 1st half of our meal we had a great server than she said she was only breaking our actual server who we never even met. Well new server was terrible! This place was amazing! A bit fancier than I thought it would be, but that's not a bad thing, because it was really nice. I LOVED the ahi poke bowl, and the buffalo wings were really good too, and in a really nice portion! I had to take my leftovers home! My one complaint is the service. While our server was really nice, he only stopped by our table every 20 minutes. So ordering water, ordering food, getting drink refills, getting the check, and then getting my card back all took a long time. Over 90 minutes, for a couple appetizers. I have always been a fan of the Yard House and this one did not disappoint. I got there for happy hour and took full advantage. I sat at the bar and the bartenders were polite and accommodating. I ordered the spicy tuna roll but keep forgetting it's not your typical idea of a spicy tuna roll... that's my bad. Solid beer choices and great food. I want to start off by saying that my husband and I have always enjoyed going to Yard House. It's a great place for happy hour and watching the game and have a great beer selection. Most recently we discovered their brunch, which was fantastic. They have a bottomless mix from 10am - 2pm (with a 2 hour time limit, I think). Needless to say, we thought we had found our new brunch spot and had been in several times without any issues. On Sunday the 17th we had some friends in town from Texas and decided this would be the perfect place to get together. We got there around 11am. Our server Jeremy took great care of us. We had people in and out all day, at some point we had 4 people and others we had up to 14 people. Throughout the entire time we are ordering food and drinks. My husband is a Niners fan and the game was on at 1pm (obviously football games take a few hours). We had a booth and decided to watch the game there with our friends. All was great until shift change. When our server was leaving we closed out our tab with him since we wanted to make sure he got the tip for providing great service. We then started a new tab. The new server brought us maybe one round, at the most 2 and we ordered some food to go. We were just waiting for our food when a supervisor came and told us it was time for us to go. At this time there were only 4 of us there and we were just waiting for our food to close out our tab and leave. The reason he gave for us having to leave is that we had been there for a long time. We explained what had gone on throughout the day and he got defensive pointing to each of us that were there saying "you're ok, you're ok, you're tipsy". Obviously we were upset and when we expressed this and asked for an explanation saying that we weren't being rowdy or obnoxious he offered up his manager. She came over and we explained the happenings of the day. Which, she should have been aware of as she had come to check on our table a couple of times, so she was aware of the people that had come and gone. All the manager did was apologize and say that she would talk to him. Sometimes you need to do more than just apologize. I could understand cutting us off and offering us water if they thought we had too much to drink. However, to ask us to leave because we had "been there for too long" as we were just waiting for food to go (which should be a sign that we're getting ready to leave) is unacceptable. This is a chain so I'm sure they won't care about the review, but I was disappointed and wanted to share our story. Needless to say, we won't be coming back, not that they will care. read more

Came in for a few drinks and sat at the bar. 1st it took about 15-20mins before one of the bartender's ask of if we been help? Only been here for 15-20mins. Drinks are good and on point but service is horrible. Bartenders sitting around talking while waiting on drinks and food. They wonder why this is poor. I went to Yard House tonight for dinner for the first time and it was just alright. Positives: there was no wait, but we also went on a Wednesday night so that may have contributed to that. We chose to sit outside since the inside was loud but the atmosphere outside is very pleasant (chill music and heat lamps). The service was very quick and friendly. Rosemary is a great server. I had the halibut and I also tried some of the peppered filet that someone else in my party ordered and they were just average. Negatives: the food was not overly impressive especially for the price. Although I liked it, it wasn't memorable. As mentioned: pretty expensive. There were issues with the beer kegs as well which caused a 15 minute wait for one beer and made another beer unavailable so that was a huge negative. Tl;dr this place might be cool if you're really into beer/drinks and just lookin for a buzz with some friends but not really for a family dinner. read more

The Yard House used to be great. I often had their pepperoni and mushroom pizza and I always came back for more. However, the pizza has not been great as of lately. I can't tell what's going on. Looks like the chef is trying to save money on toppings. Is it worth it? You're more likely to see more dough and less cheese, nothing but that. I expected better especially for the price, but just seems like a rip off, and that sucks given the good reputation this place used to have. read more

Came here on a date nice lay out I really liked that. Our first server was really nice she was really happy and made jokes her name was alexis she was really down to earth nice . Then we got introduced to kat she was good until I told her my ice tea was not supposed to be flavored. She went back with a little bit of an attitude and got mad upset. She came back said the ice tea machine was broken . I just drank it anyways. The music was really good , playing the alternative hits. The food I am not sure if it is good but my date had got a garlic peeling in her taco and got grossed out . We told the waitress she seemed upset but it's the truth. I mean we all have our days I am not here to get on her just writing my review . I had got a dessert blue berry crumble it was ok nothing to special I did like the ice cream. This place has gotten a little full of themselves lately. The Street Tacos are $5 to $7 each and should be called "Three Bite Tacos." That's literally how small they were. The beer is completely overpriced which makes no sense considering the volume that goes through here. We received our food from the food delivery girl who couldn't want to disappear faster, before we caught her to ask for ranch. Then it took the waiter took ten minutes to come by and ask us if we needed anything else (which I did and couldn't start eating until he brought me some picante for the three-bite tacos). If you have a small party go to Barrelhouse 101 in downtown Ventura instead for similar food. read more

I would first off like to say that I've been in the industry for 15 years. Danny the bartender was the opposite of attentive, me and a buddy came in to sit at the bar and have some food and beers. Danny walked up after we had been sitting there for 10 minutes waiting for a server or bartender to even give us menus. He then asked us if we wanted anything to drink and we replied yes and he asked for our id's, we quickly went to pull them out and he walked away before we could hand them to him, slightly confused we watched him wondering why he had walked away hoping he had a good reason, he did not. Danny went over to another group of guys he seemed know by giving them hi fives and talked to them and watched the tv screen. Roughly 5 minutes later Jennifer walked over (very attentive) and helped us out, we ordered the chicken wings, onion rings, the carnivore pizza, and chicken nachos. Both the onion rings and the chicken wings came out cold, we notified Jennifer about the chicken wings which she got taken care of straight away and were actually very tasty. Ben (another bartender) came over after and asked if we needed anything else, he was also very attentive and helped us out with all of our questions and made sure we were taken care of. At the end of the night we asked for the manager who helped us out very much so. I was not looking for compensation for anything we had eaten but she insisted and comped both the onion rings and the wings, I wish I could remember her name but she was a great help to us. The only reason this is not a five star rating is because of the actions of Danny, if he could take a slice of humble pie and realize that the job is customer service and nothing else this would be a different review, I will be back if for no other reason because of how the manager handled the situation (very professional) read more

Beer isn't normally my go to beverage but with the help of the well-versed staff my boyfriend and I were confident in my beer preferences the first time we went. We went with 3 9oz beers so we could sample some the ones that intrigued us most and he ending up getting an additional pint of his favorite. Being able to order as little as 9oz is a great way to get familiar with the many beers they have to offer. I've been here 2 times since and every experience was better than the last! PROs--plenty of beer selections. Plenty of TVs. If you want booze, and their giant 1/2 yarders, then this is a great place. Clean eating area, and restrooms clean enough that I actually used them. CONS--pricey. Food and drinks are pricey, and while the beer was fine, the food was only "so, so". IT will cost you $30+ to get a good buzz. Pizza was expensive for the size, and thin crust. I wouldn't go here to eat necessarily, but to drink and watch TV. It's in Riverpark, so parking sucks. That isn't a con for the Yard House specifically, but it does factor in to my review. If you want good beer AND good food, I'd go to BJs. If you want booze and TVs, YH is the spot. Probably won't be back unless friends invite me. read more
