We came here for their happy hour, and it was crazy crowded. Pros - SUPER good HH menu, so it's no wonder they get so crowded - ample seating - food food portions for their prices - their quesadillas were soooo good! I LOVED the crisp Parmesan cheese grilled on top of the quesadilla - waitress was attentive and filled our waters in a timely manner - our waitress was able to split our bill with 4 cards and didn't make a fuss out of it, she was super accommodating Cons - lighting is a bit too dark for my liking - it got really loud in the restaurant, we really couldn't even have a conversation because people just got so distracted - they have good descriptions on their menu, but I wish they had some pictures I'd like to come back here for their HH! BUT just be aware that the ambience is not exactly relaxing and calm. read more

Service was very good. Adhering to social distancing standards while still providing great service. Had the onion ring tower, Nashville hot chicken sandwich and the carnivore pizza! I want to purely rate this off my love of their happy hour. (It would be 4 stars) But, I've been here for lunch and I didn't love it then. Happy Hour (in the bar area) is the best time to go! They have half price selected apps and drinks. For $50 my husband and I ordered the poke tower, a pizza, sliders and had 2 drinks each. (We ended up taking home most of the pizza and half of the slider dish!) Verses lunch, we ordered the poke tower, an entree and a drink each and it was over $50, before tip. While it was good, it just seems like too much to pay especially with their happy hour having such good options. My item of choice here is their poke tower. It's delicious and packed with fresh tuna, a good amount of julienned veggies and separated by wonton layers. Service always seems to be a little slow whether in the bar or at a table. If you got anything out of this review... it's to go to their happy hour! 3-6 Monday-Friday with reverse happy hour available on select days. read more

Uhhhhhh, what a big disappointment this place has become. If you're going for beer, that's ok but beware most are out. The food is horrible and your better off eating at Jim's. They use to have gourmet food like ahi tuna rolls, but all they serve is mediocre bar food. I am not sure how they are still open in La Cantera. My pizza tasted like a frozen pizza, with microwaveable wings. I asked for a chopped salad which is on the menu and it was no longer available. They had a October Beer menu with only two available on tap. The waitress was nice, so she is the only reason I am giving a star. read more

COVID - 19 Review - I decided to have lunch here after running some errands in the area. We were given paper single use menus and were seated at a booth with plexiglass in place between us and other parties. I noticed they had plexiglass barriers at the bar as well and that tables outside were spaced out. All of the staff were wearing masks. We had the jambalaya and the cheeseburger. Both entrees came out quickly and tasted great but it took a long time to get drink refills. We also had tried to order a carrot cake for dessert but after 20 minutes of waiting, we asked if we could cancel it. Our server brought it out to us anyway and kindly asked the manager to comp it for us since it had taken so long. Overall a-okay meal. read more

This wasn't our first choice but it turned out really good. My biggest complaint is the excessive amount of options on their menu. I get so overwhelmed when there are too many options. (Which is why I won't eat at Cheesecake Factory! ) First I got the Salted Watermelon Margarita, which was good but small for $11. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken (Featured). It was not what i was expecting but it was surprisingly delicious! The sauce for the sweet potato pancake was EXTREMELY strong! I only needed a couple drops or it was overpowering. My husband got the vodka Vodka Shrimp Pasta it was good. He liked it, I thought it was a little bland. Overall, we would return. read more

TERRIBLE !!! No social distancing, patrons walking around without masks and manager informed us that they are doing the best they can. Definitely more than 50% occupancy. Waited 30+ minutes to be seated. Waited another 15 minutes to get a beer. Seriously? Takes 15 minutes to pour a beer and bring to customer? Don't waste your time here. Go support the small local businesses- they will treat you better, will appreciate the business and definitely serve up better food. read more

I have visited this establishment multiple times and honestly it never disappoints. Sometimes its super busy and sometimes it's quiet. I would label this as a more upscale bar/sports hybrid. The menu has plenty of creative spins on classic American favorites and newer foreign cuisine inspired offerings. The beer menu is stellar, something for everyone and if your into the harder stuff they also have a nice cocktail selection. The poke nachos are a winning appetizer. read more

Came for reverse happy hour only to find out it's not reversed on the weekends. We waited almost 10 minutes at the bar before I had to grab someone's attention that we needed drink menus. I'm not sure why we were ignored when there were at least 4 bartenders lallygagging around. Anyway, we ordered drinks and 2 appetizers and the bartender that end up helping up was really nice and personable. The poke nachos were the absolute bomb and the sour watermelon margarita was thirst quenching. I had to send the garlic noodles back, they were disgusting and way too salty....UNEDIBLE! This place is a bit pricey but I would come back again for happy hour. read more

Not as good as I hoped that it would be . Loved the appetizer though. The firecracker shrimp was made JUST RIGHT. Only real issue was with the server.... No name will be mentioned. Anyways he had a hard time remembering what was asked of him twice. Not sure if his lack of was the result of my husband's sandwich not being made right. But anyways, the manager accommodated. After a questionable dining experience a few weeks ago ( which thanks YH as they did reach out to learn more ) we decided to return as we really enjoy both the great drink menu and the food We began as a couple of IPAs; I enjoyed the Green Flash remix which was awesome ; and took advantage of happy hour to grab some of our faves - and again the food was better then our previous visit - everything out super fast and was really good Had the poke nachos which I really like - wonton like chips with poke, avocado , cilantro , chili's ( and watch out as they do pack some great) ; the tuna tartare; calamari and the buffalo cauliflower which is delicious!! Even though the kids meal cane with dessert - they decided to go with the dessert trio instead - hot molten chocolate cake, peach cobbler and banana pudding which had little chic chips in the bottom! I am not even sure why I am giving them two stars. The first sign is when you walk into a restaurant at lunch on Saturday and you are the only one there. I ordered a mixed green salad and a burger. My wife had the pan seared Ahi tune over vegetables. She said the tuna was really good but the veggies were even better. The caesar salad she ordered was good but had golden raisins? Really? My mixed green salad was pretty good if perhaps a bit to heavy on the kale. The most horrifying part of the meal was my burger. I can understand overcooking a burger, which was not the issue here, but otherwise it is pretty difficult to screw up a burger. They however, found a way. I think the grill is not hot enough because the burger looked microwaved. Turley lacking in any flavor whatsoever. I tried to salt & pepper it and even asked for more of the aioli but nothing helped this. I took three or four bites and left more than two thirds of it on the plate. It was disgusting. Service was mediocre at best. I would not return to this restaurant. read more

I was visiting San Antonio for the weekend and was in the mood for a quick bite to eat in between an event. I decided to try Yard House since I have never been to the chain. The restaurant has lots of bar and table seating and could be a good place for a large party. Unfortunately, my experience wasn't what I had hoped it would be. Large patio and attentive service, it was busy on a Friday night but there wasn't any wait. A fair amount of regional beers, but the main beer list is pretty uninspiring. This was my first time at a Yard House in a few years and I must say that I was impressed with the food menu updates. I ordered the Korean BBQ cheesesteak which was a great combo of sweet, salty, and a slight spice. I would have liked a little more kimchee, but it was still very good. The food was okay. I got the ahimsa crunch salad and it was wayyyy too wet. The children weren't thrilled with their pizza. Yard House is one of my go to spots and it's in most major cities. I've been to their spots in Waikiki, Las Vegas, Kansas City, and Springfield , Virginia. Their format is simple - a great beer selection and awesome food that's a few levels above pub grub. They also have an amazing happy hour on the weekdays that gives $2 off pints and 1/2 priced appetizers. On top of that, they hire strong servers who not only know their product, but have great personalities to boot. We typically go during Happy Hour and strongly recommend their cheese curds, boneless wings ( especially the Korean style), Ahi sashimi, classic sliders, chicken tenders, and pizzas. For dinner their vodka cream pasta and Mac and cheese are awesome. I recommend a stop at any of the Yard House locations, but if you go to the La Cantera location, Rodrigo is an awesome server and will take care of you. read more

My cousin and I really enjoyed our lunch of the crab cake sandwich, minus the bread because the crab cake itself is really thick; along with a side of truffle fries and it was delicious. We also shared the Nashville hot sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries and it too was delicious. So smiley and kind. Then I checked into my table at the host stand. Our table was in a gorgeous lit room by the stairs. The inside was so breathtakingly beautiful and clean . The restrooms as well. Our server Omar quickly filled our drink cups with cold water and took our actual drink order. They have premium lemomades and also fountain drinks with free refills. When he returned he gave us great recommendations from their 8 dollar tapas menu on happy hour (M-F 3-6). We ordered 3: Tacos de Cochinita Pibil / Slow cooked pork marinated in achiote sauce . Calamares Fritos / Fried steak calamari w/ alioli sauce ... Albondigas / Five Spanish pork meatballs marinated in wine tomato sauce with bread .... The bread with the meatballs should be toasted and it was cold. The calamari were AMAZING. Not chewy at all. And tacos unique and flavorful. It took a while to decide but with Omar's guidance and a lot of research beforehand, I reccomend large parties order these to get the best tasting experience: Parrillada Española / Spanish grilled feast with morcilla, 4oz Spanish sirloin, chistorra, three fried jumbo shrimp, and poached potatoes with alioli Toro Paella / Toro's Classic recipe voted best in San Antonio! Jumbo shrimp, mussels, chicken, calamari, pork belly & spanish chorizo . The grilled platter came out first very fast and the meats were delectable. Love the sausage. Again... toast the bread but everything else was delicious. The paella didn't take long at all. It lived up to our expectations. Delicious and hot, enough to fill us up with whatever room was left. The nicest part was Omar brought us complimentary shots of some sort of strawberry cocktail with a chili rim. He was so thoughtful and brought my sister who was 12 a non alcoholic version. We cheered to a good time. It was so good!!! Then we asked for dessert recommendations. Omar suggested the Torrijas / Classic spanish dessert, bread soaked in sweet cream, fried & drizzled in honey .. so that's what we got. It was SO yummy like tres leches French toast. With their website you get a 30 dollar off first visit coupon using the inkind app. I signed up and it worked perfectly. After the discount all that food came out to $150. Insane for a party of 5. I tipped 30 and using that inkind app got 30 dollars cash back to use anywhere on the app. But ill use it here. Come to TORO for a great time. Linger. Talk. Enjoy unique flavors. She continued to recommend every dish that contained shrimp rather than answer about the stock- even after being told about the allergy. Finally got my answer after pointing directly to the menu mentioning the seafood stock. Food was okay. Waited a bit longer but reasonably so due to the allergy and food prep. When the server came she asked if we needed more water- which we did. We waited the entire service for that refill, again nowhere to be seen. We were done with our food for about 30 minutes till she finally checked up on us, with the bill. The restaurant added an automatic gratuity of 20% mind you the restaurant policy was only for parties of 6 or more. Like it made me question the service at this location if they're getting tips but not delivering in service. Definitely wouldn't recommend this location.

It also has a dressing that soaked thru the bowl. They had nice selection of alcohol. I had the frozen drink that was too sweet. Seating- there an about 4 tables that are under the shade. The rest are out in the opened. Plan is to get umbrellas but for now you're under the big hot Texas sun. There are 4 bar stools that are affixed to the floor but are almost too far from the bar so if you are in the smaller side can be a problem when trying to eat. The first night I was greeted by a friendly host and sat at the bar, where Billy took great care of me. He recommended the Cotto e Salsiccia, and I'm so glad he did. It was easily one of the best pizzas I've had. While I was there, the cheesemaker let me try a bite of the fresh mozzarella they were making in-house. It was still warm and absolutely delicious. The next night I was feeling a little homesick after being away for work, and all I could think about was that pizza. I walked back in and the host greeted me by name. I sat at the bar again, where another bartender remembered me from the night before, and Billy came over just to say hi. It seems like such a small thing, but when you're traveling alone, being welcomed back like that can completely change your evening. What really impressed me was seeing that it wasn't just me. The guy next to me ordered two pizzas to go, and when the chef brought them out he smiled and said, "Oh, Jose! I thought this order looked familiar!" You can tell they actually know their regulars and genuinely enjoy what they do. The second night I ordered the Fontina e Salsiccia, and somehow it was just as good as the first pizza. Everything is cooked in the wood-fired oven--even the wings--and you can taste the difference. The crust has that perfect char, the ingredients are fresh, and it's the kind of authentic Neapolitan pizza that keeps you thinking about it long after you've left. I've eaten at a lot of good restaurants while traveling, but very few have made me feel as welcome as Dough did. Great food is one thing. Great people are what made me come back the very next day. We ordered the affogato, tiramisu, torta di polenta, and the Nutella torta. Every single dessert was beautifully executed and absolutely delicious. If I had to pick favorites, the affogato and the Nutella torta were the standouts, but honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them. Excellent service, thoughtfully sourced ingredients, and food that delivers from start to finish. I'll definitely be back!

Ah, Sundays at Yardhouse--my holy grail! This place is one of my absolute favorites for kicking back with good friends and a few pints. This time, I brought along a couple of characters: Tommy Tough Knuckles and Danny Double Trouble. We were ready to paint the town red. We kicked things off with some Buffalo bites--half classic Buffalo and half lemon pepper--and let me tell you, they were fabulous! Then we took it up a notch with the poke nachos. It was a flavor explosion that had us questioning why we ever settled for regular nachos in the first place. For my main course, I kept it classic with a cheese pizza, crispy and cheesy as all get-out. But here's where things got interesting: I absolutely smashed four of those giant "yard" beers. I mean, they were towering above us like the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and I was determined to take them down. As if that wasn't enough, I was watching my beloved Tampa Bay Buccaneers battle it out against the Saints, and I had a ridiculous amount of cash riding on that game. If they didn't pull off the win, I'd have to put up a "For Sale" sign in front of my house--no joke! By the time the Bucs pulled off the victory, I was feeling like a champ. But then the real adventure began. I decided to celebrate with a victory lap around the bar, hooting and hollering like I'd just won the Super Bowl. Next thing I know, I'm trying to teach Danny the "Tomahawk Chop" while dodging a waiter carrying a tray of drinks. Let's just say my coordination took a nosedive after that fourth yard beer, and I ended up knocking over a couple of glasses. Oops! But hey, what's a little chaos among friends? Yardhouse is the perfect spot for good food, killer drinks, and a place to revel in your team's victory (or at least survive the aftermath). Straight up, Yard House is an amazing restaurant. I did not know what to expect when I first entered into the building because I did not know what with the overall theme of the restaurant. Yard House really hang their hat on providing a large selection of beers from around the world There are so many different types of beers that it is very difficult to not find one that you enjoy. The menu is very robust as well. There seems to be something on the menu for every type of taste you can virtually think of. But mostly it is rooted in American grill style food. You also love the atmosphere. This place is very good for adults and happy hour. I definitely enjoy the design that showcases a beer vault with streaming pathways of beer, seemingly. The Yard House, while loud and lacking in exceptional service at times, is a very good restaraunt. The menu is extensive, to say the least, and has selections to fit everyone's needs, even vegatarians with Gardein offerings. The only aspect of food they lack in is the dessert menu but luckily there is a Cheesecake Factory right across the street to satisfy that. The beer list is absolutely incredible and the booths and bar stools are very comfortable. If you are trying to get to know someone on your first date you should probably avoid this place as the ambience is loud, to say the least. We had an absolutely amazing experience at Yard House yesterday! From the moment we sat down, the service was top-notch. Our waiter, Darren, was incredibly attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The food was delicious fresh, flavorful, and served perfectly. What really made the night special was getting to meet the General Manager, Jay. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and valued as guests. I recently visited Yard House at San Antonio RiverWalk, and was extremely disappointed with my experience. The Tornado Onion Tower was salty and soggy, which made it almost inedible. The Carnivore Pizza was also a letdown--way too salty with barely any meat on it. The Fish and Chips were especially disappointing, as the fish had an excessive amount of batter that tasted like it was cooked with self-rising batter. To top it off, the Korean BBQ Cheese Steak was overly salty and I couldn't even tell if I was eating beef or pork. Overall, the food quality was subpar, and I won't be returning. read more

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with friendly, welcoming staff who made us feel valued as guests. The server Lisa notified us that happy hour was happening and we had 30 minutes left if we wanted any drinks or apps, which was very nice. Our food was AMAZING and the vibes were so good. Great food, great beers, and great service! Mary R and Lauren H are my favorites! Went with my sister and a friend. We got the giant stack of onion rings, so good! I got the tacos and they were delicious too! My sister got the fish and chips. Huge order but yummy, she took the rest home. For dessert we got the skillet smores brownie. Food is subpar. They have decent selection of beers. Service is average. You hit a good server, all is fine, if not expect a miserable experience. I think they deserve a 2.5 but i am giving 3 because they are better than 2. If you go as a group and do jot really care about waiting for your subpar food, but rather enjoy a few cold ones, by all means try this place. read more

We visited here for the first time last night. It was wonderful. Awesome draft beer and menu selection.! We couldn't even decide what to order. Our food was great, service could have been better. A little advice, you can get good food almost anywhere, but good service is sometimes hard to come by. Nevertheless, we will give it another try in the future. read more

Yard House is pretty unique for a "chain" restaurant and really delivers on the food. I've had good and bad experiences here but that's mainly with the waiting staff and that can happen at any restaurant. They have a great selection of draft beer and do a good job and making the place inviting. read more

The place was packed but we got our food very quickly and it was delicious!! The fries were crispy and seasoned and the carnita grilled cheese had a LOT of meat and was a pleasant surprise. The cheeseburger was simple and delicious as well and the bacon was crispy and flavorful. This place is a hidden gem that's apparently very popular amongst the locals and I can see why. I had a strawberry margarita, which was sweet and delicious, just the way I like it! One of my guests ordered a blueberry mixed drink, but they were accidentally served a peach drink. We notified the server immediately, and when he returned, it was the same drink with no straw or cherry. He mentioned the bartender had added blueberry mix into the peach drink rather than bringing the correct one. That felt odd and inconsiderate. If the drink couldn't be swapped or refunded, it would have been much better to simply be informed instead of receiving this unusual workaround. For my meal, I ordered the ribeye steak with asparagus and mashed potatoes as usual. Disappointingly, the entire plate felt bland. The seasoning was minimal, and it didn't taste like the Stone Werks meals I know and love. Steak and mashed potatoes should be a guaranteed win, especially for this restaurant. On the bright side, the calamari was perfect, crispy and flavorful. I'll still be visiting this location because I genuinely enjoy the restaurant. Hopefully this was just an off day, and things will be back to their usual high standard next time.
