I have to say, Temecula is really becoming the next OC! The outdoor shopping area is very similar in style to the ones found out here in the OC. This yard house was set up very differently from the other Yard houses I have been in. The bar area is WIDE OPEN and SPACIOUS. You can walk in between the tables without being hit which is nice. The sitting is all along the perimeter, which leaves a lot walking room. The atmosphere here was very chill. There were several large parties in the restaurant ( 3 groups of 15+ people) and the sitting area did not seem cramped at all. Very nice. I'd come back again, if I lived in Temecula. read more

Happy hour is the way to go! I usually don't visit or review many chain restaurants or bars but this was a good find. If you're looking for a place to meet up with friends, grab a quick bite and a beer, or post up while the ladies do some shopping, the Yard House is the best spot in the promenade. Happy hour specials are the best value, daily from 3pm - 6pm, with all apps half price and beers discounted. The Spicy Calamari, Ahi Tuna, and Hawaiian Poki are the best tasting items. When they first opened, the food and service both were great. Something changed in the last year. Tonight we went here for the last time. I ordered the porcini crusted halibut. This is a $25 plate, one of the most expensive on the menu. I know fish and halibut is a good fish. They brought it to me overcooked, though. Naturally, I sent it back. After waiting another 30 minutes, they brought me a new plate, the halibut overcooked even more than the last! Each time the manager came to the table. The second time, he should have comped the entire meal, which was just a couple drinks, my wife's meal, and a grilled cheese for the kid. But no, all he did was take my meal off the check. This yard house has become one of my local haunts. Good food, huge draft beer selection and a money saving happy hour. Not to mention it is one of the only place that I can find locally that serves Big Sky Moose Drool one of my all time favorite beers from Montana which I was introduced to when vacationing in Yellowstone. As for food their pepper burger is great and the Kung pao calamari appetizer (1/2 off during happy hour) is addicting. This unique dining establishment is next to the mall and movie theaters which is perfect for a family night out or date night, making it one of the many prime locations on Winchester road. This establishment serves appetizing meals that can cater to healthy diets, while gIving a lot of flavor. The down side was that everything we ordered was spicy, even the Barbecue chicken salad, which is not supposed to be spicy as we have ordered it previously. My family and I ordered the moo shoo pork egg rolls, the shiitake garlic noodles, the lobster crab and artichoke dIp, the California roll, and a Caesar side salad for appetizers which were all on par with our expectations as well as our taste buds. We were disappointed when we found out that one of the first items we began to order was sold out, (which was the Lumpia). For dinner we received bacon cheeseburgers for the children, the pepper crusted fillet with Bok Choy, the ginger crusted salmon, and the poke bowl. There was no Bok Choy for the meals as the servers told us they were out of that as well. The portion size was immaculate and tasty, but as mentioned above, everything was spicy (except the children's food). The customer service was excellent as every restaurant should be, and behaved in an expedited manner as they were very busy. I rated this establishment three out of five as they did not surpass our expectations, they did not have some items we ordered, and the barbecue chicken salad was spicy, (A member of my family has a spice intolerance due to pregnancy). The Ginger crusted salmon was amazing, The steak was perfectly cooked but the mashed potatoes seemed to taste like they were from a box, and the poke bowl was phenomenal. Although there were a couple of things they could have improved on, this establishment was in a prime location with excellent portion sizes, amazing customer service, and great food presentation. In my opinion, I would have given five stars if they weren't out of the things we tried to order, if the mashed potatoes were better, and the barbecue chicken salad wasn't spicy. read more

First off - YUM! After a day of helping a friend unpack in her new home, and a quick trip to donate money to the slot machine, it was time for dinner. We wanted something tasty, quick, and sit-down. We opted for Yard House because it was the only thing that we could all agree to. This was only my 2nd time at Yard House, my first being years ago, lets say a good 7 or 8 years ago. I teetered between their enchilada stack and a burger - did I want to use a fork or my hands? Well I opted for one of the burgers that had pastrami, caramelized onions and a fried egg on top - holy crap was that delicious! The minute the yolk brakes, all bets are off. You can use your hands if you want, I opted to grab a fork and a knife. It was soooo good that I almost forgot about the shoestring fries that came with the dish. Eventually I had to ask our Server to please just take them away otherwise I would keep picking at them. A word on our Server, I don't know her name, but she was really great. One of the girls in our group has dairy allergies and our Server really stated on top of the dishes to make sure that my friend was accommodated. I'd go back there in a heart beat. The wifey and I hit this Yard House last night. The craving for the chicken tortilla soup was just too much to ignore. We started off our evening with an ice tea and a Pomagranate Mojito. As an appetizer, we desided to go with the seared ahi (our favorite). Followed by a pair of chicken tortilla soups. Our main course consisted of an ahi sandwich for the wifey and a blue crab cake sandwich for me. All this delicious food was accompanied by excellent service provided by Justin (I believe that was his name). That's why we love this place. My dad and I came in for lunch. We waited for 10 minutes for someone to come take our drink order. A server came by and said she'd be right by to take our order and left. I really wanted to LOVE Yard House. I really did! Based on the other positive reviews here that seem to concentrate on the bar and great selection of beers, perhaps I should give it another try at happy hour with just an appetizer and a nice cocktail - because lunch with the ladies was - eh. Myself and three girlfriends went for lunch on a Wednesday. It was mildly crowded for being new, but INCREDIBLY noisy. Acoustics are pretty bad. If it wasn't so windy, we would have sat outside because the firepits were lovely. My friend who had been there already said the noise level was even worse when she was there before. Two of us ordered the seared ahi tuna sandwich. The other two ordered the parmesan chicken and the portobello burger. I was VERY surprised to see the ahi sandwich come out on what was very, VERY little more than rye sandwich bread. Not thick bread or bakery-style but what what you'd see from a loaf of bread from the grocery store. The tuna was way overcooked - barely pink - even though I specifically asked if it would be rare. It came with shoestring french fries - nothing better than you could get at any fast food establishment. My friend let us try her parmesan chicken. It looked interesting and not what you'd think of - no red sauce or mozarella. A brown sauce with mushrooms. I was intrigued. I tasted it - ACK! It was just about the nastiest tasting thing ever, but I said nothing. We all agreed it was "good" so as not to offend our friend, but since she left half of it, she clearly didn't care for it either. Our other friend said her portobello burger was "good." No one was ooing and ahhing over their food. The mini souffle deserts were VERY good. I had chocolate and the other three ladies each had the sampler with peach cobbler, lemon and chocolate. None of us cared for the lemon, but it was more about preference than it not being good. While all of the wait staff was friendly, I didn't care for the fact that we only saw our original waitress two times. We had four or five other servers refilling water, bringing our food, etc. I like one server to at least be there 85% of the time. Maybe that's just me. Sorry, for the prices, I really expected better. Again, maybe I'll try the patio during happy hour as I'd love to people watch the mall from their patio. Then again maybe not. No use getting your panties in a knot! We called ahead, knew the exact time we wanted to come they placed us on a call ahead list (as they don't take reservations per se) and we found parking without a hitch, breezed on into Yard House.. got a waiter with a personality more sarcastic than mine (GREAT dude!!) and hubby and friends started their mission to try as many beers as they could in the time frame we had. We ordered the Calamari, Spinach Dip for starters and mains were Pan seared Ahi Tuna, surf and turf, Vodka Shrimp Pasta and the New York Steak and Garlic Fries. (food was freakin delish!) Garlic fries were orgasmic (did I say that outloud?...) tuna was fresh and quite the treat, steak was melt in your mouth ..... all together now? YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!! 112 beers on tap? This used to be our favorite, but recently the food has gone a bit South. The pastrami sandwich was terrible, and the mac and cheese greasy. The pizza was just so-so, as were the garlic noodles. There are very few places I feel comfortable dining at while working on a class assignment or waiting for a late matinee without the feeling of being rushed. This is my go to spot. The staff is remarkable and tentative. From entering the door to receiving my properly ordered meal I am always astounded by the degree of care each team member possesses. I've had a range dishes from appetizers, burgers, seafood and desserts. All of which are made to perfection each and every time. Great job kitchen staff! Parking: Can be a hassle on the weekends. I usually head straight to the 4 story parking garage or the secondary 2 story if it's a holiday. Noise: What do you expect? When it's busy it's loud, when it's slow it's quite. So, so glad we came in tonight after the Promenade Mall hang! So sorry we haven't been sooner! We have been to Lazy Dog and PF Changs several times and for some reason haven't gone to Yard House, which is one of my favorite places in Long Beach to get beers. Gotta love those many taps... Now to the food: I had fish and chips with a German hefe weisse and my wife had the turkey burger, and we both split a salad. Service was first rate! Jennifer is the Queen of the dining room, I'll bet she trains the new servers, she knows her stuff! My wife loved the turkey burger with garlic fries. Her only minor complaint was she would have liked more salt on the fries but still, they were really good. Plus, the Yard House french fries are the thin, crispy shoe-string cut that is my wife's favorite and these hit the spot. My fish and chips were good, too and I like that the manager checked up on us twice during our meal, and gave me some tips on ordering the tartar sauce for next time. I liked the roasted jalapeno tartar but REALLY liked the other malt vinegar aioli! Awesome sauce! Admission: we are over 50. My wife is not a fan of the background music or the volume inside, but on a day nice enough to eat outside we will be back in a heartbeat. I'm pleased to give the Yard House five stars. We went on a Saturday night (2-9-13) about 6:30. It was very crowded but a member of our party called ahead and put us on the wait list. We waited less than 5 minutes upon arrival. I could see others waiting with a puzzled look as to why we got seated right away. All I can say is take the time to learn the seating policy for any restaurant you are going to go to on a busy Saturday night. Our waiter, Tyler, was awesome. Great personality but professional. I was delighted to see they now have "at table" credit card pay system in place, which helps prevent credit card fraud. This review is strictly on the food and not on the service. I have always had excellent service here. I came in for lunch, as I have before many many times to this location. With that being said, I am well acquainted with their menu and the normal standards of their food. However, I don't exactly know what went wrong today, but all I can say is there was a major decline in the quality of the food that they are now serving. I decided to order their new beyond burger. Now, I have ordered this vegan patty at many other places so I am aware of how it should normally taste. I completely regretted ordering this here at Yard House and it was the most terrible vegan burger I've ever had. It didn't taste grilled, it tasted like a frozen patty that was heated up in a microwave and slapped on a couple shreds of vegan cheese that they didn't even allow to melt properly. I have never ordered a vegan sandwich that came with SHREDDED cheese. It should have been a proper slice of cheese. My mother on the other hand ordered the kale Caesar salad, which she has ordered many times before (nearly every time we go to Yard House). This time, the salad was such a disappointment and should not have been served to her if the chef was aware of minimal food standards. Her lettuce was brown and inedible. There were barley any other ingredients that normally come on the salad, just a big bowl of brown and wilted lettuce. She also ordered shrimp with the salad, which ended up being extremely salty and had a nasty fishy odor. Previously, this salad would be delightful and she would receive jumbo grilled shrimp. All of these concerns were reported to the manager whom handled the situation well. As I stated, this wasn't an issue of service provided, just about the below subpar food. I used to enjoy coming here for lunch, and now I sadly won't be returning. Their food quality has clearly declined. I would rather enjoy my meal at a home-owned restaurant that doesn't service frozen re-heated food. I gave 2 stars because the service was great as usual, or else I would've given 1 star. read more

I can't believe I've never rated this particular Yard House!! Definitely one of my faves. They have a great selection of menu items for varying palettes, a great bar menu and friendly service! They have a great outdoor patio with heaters and a great spot to people watch. Their booths are nice and big so you never feel squished. I've ordered everything from mac n cheese (ridiculous) to a burger to pasta and I've never been disappointed. It is quite LOUD here because they up the volume on the music and you are almost yelling at the other people at the table so that gets kind of annoying at times but not that bad once you get used to it. Came here the other night against my better judgment. When we walked in I noticed that the place had a C RATING. I just checked the Riverside County Restaurant Rating website and I see that it has been upgraded back to an A, but I KNOW at the time we visited the displayed rating was a C. So that didn't make me feel very safe... My mother in law and I both ordered the Pomegranate martini, they were very tasty. Our entire party ordered the truffle fries appetizer (shudder, I hate truffle) they thought it was just OK. I ordered the Shrimp Pasta with Vodka sauce. It tasted good going down... not so good coming back up. Now, I'm not blaming the fact that I got VIOLENTLY ILL that night on Yard House... I mean, it could have been anything, right? Right. Take that information as you will. My mother in law got the fish special of the day, it was so dry she could hardly choke it down. My father in law ordered the mac and cheese, he said was good but really, it would be hard to screw up mac and cheese. I've FINALLY learned my lesson... Beer. Lots of beer, in many varieties, at prices that are reasonable by bar standards. The food is pretty good. The atmosphere is trendy. The wait staff is not usually fake or obnoxious. I like the place, and will be around from time to time. If you like a few drinks with your meal and are a bit of a beer snob, you'll probably like it too. The martinis are cheaper; and, if you're into ruining your buzz... the food costs less as well. Seemed pricey to me, but then I didn't get to enjoy the complete happy hour, so two of my drinks were $8.50..for a vodka and cran, way too much in my book. Also, the chicken nachos my friend and I shared were just ok. Most chips I picked up had very little toppings, but at least when I asked for some salsa that spiced em up a bit. I did enjoy the atmosphere and the giant booths that easily fit three on each side. What I didn't appreciate is having to finish my drink completely before ordering another one. What's up with that? Especially when it takes awhile for the drink to get there. It was a last minute decision to head to Yard House so I didn't get to enjoy the full happy hour time period.
