There are Asian fusion types of offerings, as well as an entire line by Gardein for vegans/vegetarians. I ordered the red quinoa salad, which was different and good, but I wasn't blown away. It did not come with dressing, which I found a bit odd. The beer selection was pretty good, so I would return for that during a happy hour. Went here for the first time, didn't realize it was a chain restaurant. I can for lunch with the fam and the decor inside you can just get lost. The amount of beers that are on tap is insane. There are so many choices that it took me a good 5 minutes just to look at all he options. I wasn't drinking so I didn't have any beer but I found at least 10 beers that I would have loved to try. I got a Cobb chicken salad with balsamic dressing. The chicken was to die for and the bacon was so crisp that I couldn't get enough. I got balsamic dressing and the cup they put it in is just the perfect amount of dressing. Usually restaurants only give you a small amount but yardhouse does not disappoint on the dressing. The staff were all friendly and this is a place I will definitely go again. Our 3rd time here. First 2 were great. First, the bar was sticky and dirty. 10 minutes to get waited on. I ordered wine and my husband ordered a beer. Both were sold out. Got the chicken nachos, which I've had before. Awful. They switched from pulled chicken to that premade packaged chicken. Way too many beans so they were so soggy i couldn't pick up a chip. Nice upscale sports bar , atmosphere was very comforting and clean . Service was great Kara was our waitress and she did a great job however the food was not the best we had calamari to start and it was very crunchy and too fried . We ordered spinach dip in which we were told they were out of then we ordered wine that they were out of but then told it was discontinued My friend got tomatoe soup and half turkey club and she said it tasted like a cheap coney restaurants turkey club . Slower than slow service at 3:30 in the afternoon!! They were out of draft Oberon. Told the server 3 times that our party of 4 was 2 separate checks yet the bill came as one. When he went to split the check the 1/2 burger discount was gone so had to be redone. Never asked us if another round of drinks were wanted. Never asked if dessert was desired. Fries did not come with burger and we had to remind server of that. Our server claimed the problem with delays was that he had 4 tables seated at the same time. Really!?!?! He seemed very discombobulated and harried even though the place was pretty empty. I love yard house, and we visit YH frequently in Texas so we were excited to visit the first Michigan/Detroit location. Yard house is known for a great selection of food and great quality of drinks. However, we were sorely disappointed in the service and wait at this restaurant. To set the scene, we arrived on a Saturday night at 7:10 to a huge crowd in the lobby. It was chaos. I approached the hostess desk and waited at least 5 minutes for the hostess to even acknowledge me and then realized another lady who walked up after me put her name on the waiting list. I could already sense the service would be lacking based on this, however wanted to try out this location. I was told the wait would be an hour and was prepared to wait that long-BUT we waited almost 2 full hours to be seated with barely any room to stand. We were not offered an option to wait at the bar either. Clearly, this location needs to adopt a better system to not only greet their guests but to accommodate reasonable waiting times. We were only a party of 2, and smaller groups are typically seated quicker however this was not the case. Upon ordering, we didn't even receive a napkin, water or silver ware until we asked once our main menu arrived (we even ordered apps and drinks before). The waitress was polite though and helpful with the menu, but it seems like an overwhelming place to work based on the rush. While I enjoy the food quality and variety of menu, I wouldn't recommend Yard House with the long waits and delays in service. Poke nachos were amazing though, which was probably the only positive part of this experience. read more

Amazing. We went on a Saturday at 5:30 pm. Prime dinner time. The place was SLAMMED. We were celebrating my cousin's 12th birthday. We were a party of 10. The service was incredible. All of the staff were so inviting and didn't make one mistake. The food was all fresh and delicious. The manager even stopped by to see how our experience was. Came here for dinner Saturday around 6pm. They told us it would be a 35 minute wait, but we were sat in less than 10. Service was great our waitress Shanna was really cool and nice. Atmosphere was cool. Menu had a large selection of great sounding choices. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower and the chicken nachos for appetizers, and the Mac and cheese and vampire tacos with rice and beans for our entree. The buffalo cauliflower with whatever sauce it comes with for dipping was AMAZING! the chicken nachos were good but only had a few small pieces of chicken on it, wouldn't order it again but wasn't bad tasting. The Mac and cheese was very bland and flat, even after adding salt pepper and red pepper flakes and just tasted like noodles with oil on them. The vampire tacos also had no flavor, all you could taste was the avocado. The rice (which as a lover of rice I was excited for) was super dry like no other rice I've ever had in my life. If I came back again, I would stick to the appetizers on the menu, they are cheaper and taste way better than the dinner menu items read more

In all fairness, this was my second visit to Yard House with the same two friends. We went there a couple months ago and a had a good experience so we decided to go back there yesterday evening. I ordered a Bloody Mary and it came without the signature bacon piece because "they ran out of bacon." Okay, no big deal. (I did wonder if they had saved any bacon for the club sandwich that was on the menu.) Next, I ordered the clam chowder and was also informed that they had "run out of it." This is 5:30 on a Monday night! My next menu choice was the California roll. Low and behold, our very brave waiter returned to the table to tell me that they "had run out of it." Really??? Three out of three had a missing ingredient or wasn't available at all. My friend ordered a steak, medium rare. It was delivered well done. No offer to replace it but the waiter apologized. At no time did a manager show his/her face at our table. The waiter alone had to keep offering his regrets over our menu disappointments. I ordered the coconut shrimp and it was overdone and very mediocre but I did not complain, just ate it. My other friend's tuna sashimi was very fresh and tasty. The bill came and the manager had comped our meals and we were just charged for our drinks. That was considerate of him/her to do that but a visit to our table would have been appropriate. That is no way to run a restaurant. I gave one star because my other friend's tuna was very good AND available. read more

Pricing for menu items higher than expected for a bar-restaurant. Beer pricing extraordinary high. I suppose with the large selection it can command 1.5 times normally paid at other establishments. Yesterday, a group of us from work went to this restaurant at lunch. When we first walked in, it smelled like a bathroom. We couldn't figure out why. We're convinced it was the cleaning products used on the tables. It smells like a semi-fresh toilet bowl. So that was gross to begin with. Then, it took at least 5 minutes to get seated (it wasn't busy yet) and it was because people at the front desk appear to not be able to do other people's jobs. So, they had one person seating everyone and the other was just standing there at the register. It was weird. Then, it took about 10 minutes to be asked for drinks. Mind you, this is our lunch hour. When they did bring out the drinks, they mixed up our teas (one was fruit/sweetened, one was unsweetened). After my manager got done drinking her water, she noticed the glass was dirty and requested a new one. After looking closely at my tea glass, I saw green smudges on the inside. I felt bad that we already returned a glass so I requested another tea and they ended up refilling the same glass so I just didn't drink anymore of it. Then, my manager and a co-worker requested a diet coke and a coke and they mixed those up. When my manager's salad came out, it had no dressing. It took us forever to get her some. Randomly, a different waiter came by and brought us a side of steak (that we didn't ask for). We tried to explain it wasn't ours and she just looked confused. The actual appetizers and courses were decent but when you're eating in a place that smells like a toilet bowl, drinking out of dirty glasses, and receiving the slowest service, it makes you hate the experience overall. I've worked in Troy for five years and can assure you there are better places than here to eat. If you do go here, check your glasses and expect to be taking a 1.5 hour lunch break. read more
