Don't take this place for granted! If you have the chance to eat here, DO! The gyro is simply the best. It comes loaded with juicy meat, fresh lettuce, tomatoes, white onions, and topped with tart tzatziki. Oh did I mention they make the pita bread fresh, baked right there in the kitchen. I enjoyed the spanakopita and dolmas. The falafel has good flavor but very dry. The baba ganoush was unfortunately one of the worst things I've ever been served and had a very strange chemical kind of taste. I know everyone has a different way of making hummus but I thought it was bland. read more

I came here for lunch today with a co-worker because we had a coupon from the Alibi. Buy 1 get one 1/2 off entrees or $5 sandwich and fry or salad combo. We each had the lamb shawarma and it was delish! We ate it with a knife and fork it so huge! The food was fresh and hearty sized without being too heavy in our stomachs. There were a few dive bombing flies inside which were incredibly annoying, but other than that it was a clean dining area and kitchen. I enjoyed this little gem! I went for lunch last week and had the gyro platter. The saffron rice was excellent, gyro with the white sauce was great and they were very reasonably priced and quick. Downfall would be the parking. There wasn't any place for me to park my car except up the street a little ways, right next to a dumpster and a guy sleeping on an outside sofa. It seems to be in a "sketchy" part of town based on the sleeping guy. But i went during the day time and I didn't feel scared. Dinner over there might be a different story though. read more

You know a place has good food when there are a lot of folks of the food origin. The baba ganoush was below average because it was over processed. The hummus was average. The falafel was over cooked. They have Kubbi which is not on every Mediterranean or middle eastern menu. It was my favorite appetizer. Ground beef in the middle of something that looked like falafel. So tasty. Gyro was very good. The beef shawarma was excellent - cooked the way I like beef cooked and was more tasty than shawarma I tried at other similar restaurants. The rice was excellent. read more

Sandwiches are good. I heard that the meat is halal, so that's supposed to be a plus. Great tahini sauce and HOUSEMADE BREAD!! I like the falafel as well. I was with company and they liked it. We went during Ramadan and the staff looked a bit stressed out, but who wouldn't be as they are not able to eat the entire day long and they had to work around good food. There is a dessert there that is like a cooked semolina cake with flavored syrup on it, now that was very good. I wish I could have eaten some more of that, but I need to watch my weight. The guy in the back there made me a special glass of some of their traditional mint tea and it was good. He was so nice! They have free parking!! And plenty of room in the parking lot for your friends! It's relatively inexpensive. It's not the best, but I would say that it's pretty good. And, most of all, I observed that this place was clean. This place was super amazing! Our service was top of the line!! Upon recommendation I tried the Santa Fe chicken! It was awesome! The pita was super delicious; freshly homemade at the location. My four children liked their burgers and the hummus was good too! Not vinegary! Went here with my parents a while back and it was great but we forgot to go back but then we went a few days ago and wow I was blown away!!! Sure the wait was a little long but it was worth it. Had lunch there. Normally the food is quite good, but not today. The young punk behind the counter over cooked my gyro meat -- half was burn and the other half dry. If that wasn't bad enough, he chopped it into the smallest pieces I've ever seen for a gyro! Too bad. Won't go back for some time. When the older men cook, the food is great. What a shame too. The owner is terrific. Always interested in giving great service to his customers. Very polite. Helping the disable getting in and out of his establishment. He hasn't taken the American dream for granted -- unfortunately his young help has. read more

Stopped-in for lunch today, for the first time, and I was pleasantly surprised! While, yes, the atmosphere isn't the greatest, the food was excellent. The portions are quite generous, and well worth the moderate prices. The owner is extremely friendly, attentive, and proud - and it shows in the food. Anytime I'm working in the Nob Hill/Downtown area, I stop in for a late lunch. The food is fantastic-- I love the Greek salad and hummus and the falafel and dolmas are great too. The place isn't fancy and no fine dining experience but if you want tasty, authentic middle eastern food, it's worth a stop for sure. Enjoy! read more

Good salad, but the gyro was a HUGE disappointment. It was full of grizzle, but the worst part is the so called "our tzatziki sauce" taste like mayo. I hate mayo, it does not taste like sour cream. I am not sure why there are so many great reviews. read more

I used to like this place. Recently, got sick after eating there, but decided not to complain. It does have some good choices, but overall not very healthy. Still slightly overpriced for the quality it delivers. Restroom is not clean and it is ugly. Customer Service may be interrupted by the phone calls to order. The only reason this is getting 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the long wait. There were very few people waiting for food when I ordered, but it still took almost half an hour for food to come out. However, the food is wonderful. This is a good, but not amazing, middle-eastern place. The food is generally good. I am a big fan of the veggie platter and the falafel. I also like the authentic basic decor with Arabic(music videos and cartoons). My complaints are that the food can be a little uneven. For example, I have been served stale pita, which is kind of a surprise. The staff cheerfully gave me a new plate of fresh and delicious bread but I was a bit shocked to have stale bread delivered to me. The Hummus is good but not my favorite in town. I prefer the Greek place (Mykonos) on Eubank for hummus. However the baba ganoush is outstanding. Overall it is my favorite middle-eastern (not Greek) restaurant in Albuquerque. read more

I was trying to look for something interesting to eat before leaving Albuquerque. I decided to go to this restaurant since it had good rating on Yelp. The restaurant did not look very encouraging from the outside and I seriously considered leaving before ordering. Anyway, I decided to go with lamb kebab, which was risky to order in an unknown restaurant. The kebab came in a fresh pita. It was tiny well cooked cubes with a delicate sauce that didn't hide the taste of the meat. I also had baklava stuffed with custard but it was not completely cooked. Good Arab / Mediterranean style food.. I think the owners are Palestinian, I am not sure if the food is truly "Palestinian" or sort of a hybrid of middle eastern cuisines that they feel would be popular with Albuquerque customers, but it seems to be consistent with my general impression of what "Palestinian" and "Lebanese" cuisine is like from other places I have tried in the US, in Europe, and in Brazil. I ate here about 50 times over the course of the past few years. I particularly like the chicken shawarma platter, which one can get on hummus or rice.. I recommend with hummus, but have had both options many times depending on mood.. Especially good if you throw some Mexican Valentina hot sauce on top, they generally have hot sauce available there. I like the desserts. I like most everything they have. The fact that they show Arab music videos (I think most are made in Lebanon) is a big plus.. A simple place where one orders at the counter and food is brought to you. read more

My Wife and I tried this place the other day I think it was just ok. We both ordered the gyro plate which comes with rice pilaf a greek salad and a pita. The food was taste and service was quick.
