An enjoyable meal isn't just flavor, as execution and value absolutely count for something. The Chicken and Waffles were close, but the Egyptian Rose Petal Latte missed the mark to the point of not hitting the target at 20 feet. The Chicken and Waffles were almost great, if it weren't for the chicken... oops. While it was a generous piece, it was a little overcooked with the meat becoming somewhat dry and losing that awesome fried-chicken moisture. About a minute less in the fryer, and I would be jumping for joy, as the rest of the dish was quite nice! The waffle was made from a pleasant and gently sweet batter. While it didn't have too much crispness on the outside, with the breaded chicken, this is easily forgiven and even overlooked. The bacon was thick and had a nice sweetness as well. The syrup was awesome! In addition to the sweetness, it had pleasant and noticeable heat! Speaking of heat, I was able to try their house-made, secret recipe hot sauce. Coming from someone whose taste buds have long been dulled by fire, this one did not make an impression on me. It was a little spicy, but the flavors went right over my head (tongue?). Then there was the Egyptian Rose Petal Latte... Imagine you go somewhere and order a coffee or a soda. You are charged $3.00 for at most 50¢ of ingredients. If you've ever ordered tea, it's even worse: $1.95 for a 2¢ packet of Lipton and some boiling water. Yikes! On the flip side, alcohol: $15 for $2.50 of ingredients... the markup is more in an absolute sense, but the coffee earns silver in the relative sense. Gold in markups is earned by non-alcoholic cocktails and this Egyptian Rose Petal Latte. Non-alcoholic drinks: take some soda, add 25¢ of ingredients, and charge $6 for it. At least you still get the soda (and something to elevate it). This was akin to dressed up steamed milk with honey. For starters, they took out the coffee! This steamed milk had some honey on top, a few teeny-tiny drops of what I assume is rose essence, and the base of a small rose stem which did nothing but attempt to look pretty. The rose did nothing for me flavor-wise, and seemed like an afterthought to make the drink more luxurious on paper. Take away the roses, add a shot of rum, and you have something I'd be singing the praises of (I know, I tried while in NYC). When I mentioned to my server that I would like a regular coffee, as I was hoping for some caffeine, he mentioned he can bring me a shot of espresso (and he loves sipping a little of the latte first, and then adding the espresso). Well... the espresso shot did very little to elevate the latte. It added a little coffee flavor, but said flavor did not show itself very well. As a final gut punch, the coffee-less latte itself costs $6. When you add the espresso shot, I ended up paying $9 for this pitiful beverage. And with this poor latte I've spent over 300 words castigating comes poor execution. The honey was poured in a way that some drippings made a home on the outside of the mug. With this, anything separate from the handle become sticky, including the table. To make matters worse, this restaurant puts in some effort to make things look pretty. The espresso was served on a napkin covered plate with some coffee beans, the chicken and waffles had a sprig of rosemary... but for the latte, they seemingly forgot. My final note is in regards to the service. I will absolutely give them that it was very nice, and fast for a place of this size. However, I would have liked it to be a little bit more attentive, such as with water refills. As sharp of a rebuke as this review is, this still appears to be a good place for some breakfast, a pleasant change from the monotony of greasy spoons and IHOP's. One minute less in the fryer and an included espresso shot would easily make this place go from just good to great! read more

As many people pointed out in previous reviews, the wait is extremely LOOONNNNGGGGG!!! We went on Sunday morning, and literally waited over 100+ minutes for a table. We had to go to Dunkin down the street to get coffee and kill time. The food was BOMB AF! Definitely worth that long a$$ wait lol. Two of us ordered the sultan bowl. The beef was smooth like butter and the veggies were perfectly sauteed. The poached egg was perfectly runny. I will say, it needed a lil bit of salt. Luckily they had that unbelievably delicious Ethiopian hot sauce that paired perfectly with the dish. The banana cream donut bites were to die for. They came out warm and lightly toasted. It was very sweet tho, you seriously only need one. Now, the drinks.... That was they only part of the meal we did not enjoy. The royal pineapple crush cocktail did not taste like any alcohol was in it. The passion on the Nile was absolutely disgusting. Even though Yaz's is basically located in the middle of nowhere, it's definitely worth the trip to try their Egg Benedicts. The service is good- the servers are friendly and the food comes out pretty fast. Their drinks definitely look better than they taste. The Rose Latte is pretty, but tastes like warm rosewater. Nothing special. The Pistachio Latte is served with a sugar and pistachio rim but the drink itself tastes more of espresso with just a tiny hint of pistachio. Today's donut special was the Trix donut. Was expecting normal halo- shaped donuts but these were donut holes. The Trix flavor was subtle and the donut was a little heavy, couldn't eat more than one. The Short Rib Eggs Benedict though, was amazing. The short ribs pull apart easily and are so tender. The poached eggs are perfectly cooked and every bite is delicious. This place is in our normal rotation, especially when we have friends visiting from out of state. They, along with ourselves, are always impressed. We got the donut hole of the day and they were warm and delicious. It's hard for me to deviate from my favorite, the Sultan bowl. I always take half of it home for the next day and it's just as good. Happy to say this spot lives up to the hype! Unfortunately, the waiting time is also as true as they say. I was lucky where my friend was near the area and was able to put our names down ahead of time. It was about a 40min-1hr wait for a party of 2. I don't think there is any way around the wait time really. Definitely come when you have some free time! The workers and food were both magnificent. Very friendly workers who were happy to share recommendations and walk you through any questions you have about the menu. Their drinks were very enjoyable. I got one of the flavored mimosas and also tried the pistachio latte. Both were great! You can taste the flavors come through pretty well. As for the food, i don't know how they managed to make a simple chicken and waffle dish so addicting! The sriracha maple glazed bacon ... WOW. I only wish they added more of it to the plate. Chicken was cooked great, everything complimented each other beautifully. I will say the cut of chicken I got wasn't the best. Some parts of it was lumps of fried flour or fat but besides that, amazing. We also tried their blueberry french toast and it was delicious as well. I always prefer my sweets to not be overly sweet and they did just that. The blueberries were fresh and there were lots of different textures going on that made the dish even more enjoyable. CRAZY good. I don't care if the volume inside is over 80db, or if there's a wait - this was the best breakfast I have had in years. To start, every single person we encountered was exceptionally friendly, and in a very genuine way. Service was warm and prompt, but not overbearing. If you are a south shore dweller who is very "steak and potatoes" and not familiar with mediterranean cuisine, this is a fantastic place to branch out - the flavors are delicious and I'm sure the staff would be happy to provide recommendations. The place itself is small and cozy, with a very homey feel. Tastefully decorated for the holidays, with stockings up for their employees. We started with two of the pistachio lattes, which were the perfect drinking temperature and had a lovely baklava rim. Though we didn't partake in any cocktails, I did notice quite a few being delivered to other tables that looked creative and fun! The waitress suggested the donut holes, which change every week. We tried them, and they were awesome! This week they were a mint chocolate chip donut with minty whipped cream. Delicious. Tasted great with the lattes! Then, the main course! We got the Sultan Bowl, which was comprised of Short Rib, Red Bliss & Sweet Potato Home Fries, Caramelized Onions, Poached Farm Egg, Sriracha Bacon, Crispy Leeks, Harissa Infused Hollandaise. The whole thing was a perfect sized portion and the flavors were incredible. A highlight of the dish was short rib, absolutely delicious. We also got one of the specials, the Egyptian Omelet. Wow. It had Diced Bell Peppers, Onions, Tomatoes, Shakshuka, Crispy Chickpeas, Zaatar Naan. The Naan was hot and delicious, and paired so well with the shakshuka. I find it disappointing when people rate lower due to wait times - the waits are longer sometimes because the food is GREAT! Don't have time on your VERY busy and important Saturday? The lobster was okay , I'd pass on it. Mediterranean flavors of lime and spices can be seen dripping to the bottom of the bowl. One of my friends wanted to check this place out so we had our girls brunch here. Surprisingly the wait wasn't too bad on a Saturday morning (thank goodness they had some curtains blocking out the sun for the outdoor patio sitting area). The customer service here was wonderful and the food was phenomenal. We shared and enjoyed every dish that was recommended to us. Although quaint and small, this restaurant has an extensive, eclectic menu and the nicest staff! I can me here because this place is less than 10 mins away and happened to be featured on Phantom Gourmet, but I am a regular now! The Hummus trio was the best thing I've had this year and the servers were so delightful. The only warning I have is that this place gets booked QUICK! While waiting I looked up the owners journey which was very interesting. Service can be a little slow since there is always a wait and they have been to capacity every time I have gone. I love coming here. Everything here is very tasty and unique. Recently when I came, the menu for the week has pistachio pancakes. I love pistachio flavor and when I saw they had this I just HAD to try it. It was honestly so good and I did not expect it to be this good. I thought it was going to be blan pancake with pistachio pieces or the pancake would just not even taste anything close. To my surprise it was so delicious and there was actually a hint of pistachio inside the pancake. I also ordered chicken and waffles which is always good here. The menu is amazing and features unique items. The service was absolutely phenomenal, I forget our waitresses name but she was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and prompt. Made us feel at ease. The atmosphere is really cool and it felt airy for being such a tight space. Enjoyed the music! The overall dining experience was amazing and refreshing. The lattes were covered in honey (the outsides of the cups too), the food was good but not up to it's usual standard (egg white undercooked, soggy potatoes), service was lacking (couldn't get someone to bring butter), it was very cold inside (had to keep on our coats). Then I sent an email to let the owners know... a week ago... they never replied. That brought it from 4 to 3 stars. I don't feel Ike a valued customer when I'm ignored while I was trying to do the right thing and go directly to them rather than posting a review. Service was wonderful and ensured that you had everything, the owner also came by to check on us. Food was really good, my cousin had the Sultan and my aunt had the breakfast burger, both enjoyed their meal very much. Not only was the food delicious, but the ambiance is cozy, the service was fast, and the staff was friendly. There was about a 45 minute wait which was expected since we came on a Saturday. For food I decided to try The Sultan, which was incredible and cooked to perfection. The short ribs literally melts in your mouth. The flavors were immaculate and incredibly well balanced. OMG AND THE BACON IS SO GOOD. Probably the best bacon I've ever had. The food presentation was also SO beautiful, definitely instagram worthy. For my cocktail I decided to try the espresso martini bomb and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The "bomb" is a sphere espresso ice cube. It wasn't too strong, and it wasn't too sweet, just how I like it. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles and for her cocktail she had the blackberry whiskey sangria and she loved it.
