    Ye Ye West Meal

This place is amazing. I got the Ye Ye West Meal for a steal of $14.99! As soon as I sunk my teeth into Ye Ye, I felt a rush throughout my body. I was like, "Go Go Go Go!". I will definitely be returning.

I ordered a small pork fried rice and it was really burnt and tasted burn but I was so hungry and there was nothing else around me except here so I ordered and it does not taste right and I feel like I'm tasting soap

Great food, nice sized portions, and my food has always been piping hot and delicious. The servers have always been polite. Recommended: California Roll, General Tso's, Honey Walnut Shrimp, Crab Rangoon, egg rolls

I love this place. The service can be slow but I am not in a hurry when I come here. Delicious fresh sushi and Chinese dishes. All meals can be adapted for spiciness. You can tell them what you like and they make it even if it is not a menu item. I love the Pink Phoenix roll. It is big and sweet and spicy. It has tempura shrimp inside and a special sauce on top. All of the rolls are good and worth the little bit of wait on a busy night. Drinks are good and they have a few canned or bottled beers as well as wine.

In boxing terms, I rate this establishment a 10 on the Manny Pacquiao scale, because its punching way above its weight. I recently asked about this place, having read a listing for the Best Chinese restaurants in Every State. Let's say the article piqued my interest, and though the author hadn't bothered to actually dine in the restaurant, I decided to make my way over here for a meal. I'm glad I did. Its not much to look at from the outside, a pretty generic concrete block box in the Arctic section of West Warwick. But they're running some kind of special ship in the back I'll bet. Our waiter was kind and prompt. The food fresh, and hot, and delicious. We started with an order of Nime Chow (Vietnamese), and I am expecting some generic, slipshod version of delivery fast food, and we'll move along. I get these softly rolled pillows, fresh and bright tasting, verdant green mint leave adorned gems. The shrimp inside are briny and sweet, the bean sprouts snap with the taste of the earth. To dress them, a house made and expertly so, sauce of rich peanut grinds and sweet soy. Quite simple, and common dish, rarely done this well. I also thought I'd try a chicken wing or two. Some of my favorite Chinese food stops excel at spicy fried chicken dishes. This one does have a very satisfying crispy crunch, but I found the seasoning lacked the heat and flavor I expected. A second shot at spicy fried chicken was more successful, demonstrably so. That dish, the Loc Lac Chicken (Cambodian), offered an intriguing mix of garlic and black pepper with the tart and sweet of the juice of a lime. Again, outstanding. An order of pan fried Gyoza, filled with spiced ground Pork, was well prepared but not terribly exciting. A generously large bowl of Vietnamese Rice Noodle Soup however, again showed off expert cookery, the thin sections of Pork shoulder had just the right tender feel and nice depth of flavor. The broth was both fragrant and well seasoned, quite well done. This may not be the most adventurous stop on a tour of Asian foodstuffs, but it certainly makes the list of ones where they get the cooking part right. I'm a fan.

    The General. Fantastic presentation.

I love the staff and customer service at Ye Express. We have been with them since the beginning. The sushi is fantastic and fresh. I'm not a fan of sushi as a rule and even I found things I could enjoy. Delivery is great if you can get one of the original girls. The new kid they had hired was very rude when he came by. I usually measure a place by their Gen. Tso Chicken. In store it is very fresh. The sauce has just the right consistancy. I think I prefered the original cooking staff that was there when it opened. As time has passed the quality has lowered a bit on certain items. The staff will tailor and meal to your liking and add or subtract as needed. When waiting for take out they always seem to offer tea free of charge. One night while eating there they let me try what they were cooking for themselves. The portions are great. For 30 USD. Myself and The Lady are pretty stuffed.

    Sushi Deluxe at Ye Express

Don't be put off by the spartan appearance of Ye Express. The place is bright and clean. The staff is abundantly helpful and eager to please, and the food is excellent. We had a combination of Chinese food - soup and steamed dumplings (which were HUGE) - and sushi, and weren't disappointed in the least. The presentation of the "sushi deluxe" platter was superb, and it tasted as fresh as can be. Also, it was nice to have hot sake with our meal. Another couple at the restaurant was there for a repeat visit; they were also very happy with the food and staff. Being used to the wide selection of Asian food in the NYC area (my home region), I can honestly say that Ye Express stacks up just fine. Next time I'm in the neighborhood, I'll be sure to visit Ye Express again.

We went for lunch so it was not super busy; we were maybe one of two patrons inside. It was nicely decorated, and there was a TV above our table playing Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. What a good movie! They served wonton chips with duck sauce, like chips and salsa. What a nice touch! I have never seen that before at an Asian restaurant. We ordered some general Tso's chicken and then one of sushi lunch specials, which came with two rolls and either a soup or salad. I chose the salad, which is like the ones you get at hibachi. It was drowning in that orange tangy sauce, but it was still good! The sushi was good, too. Not the best I have ever had, but still good. The whole meal was perhaps $25. That's crazy for the amount of food we got! Highly recommend.

I dined here on Christmas Day at the invitation of a relative who has eaten here a few times and swears by the clay pot dishes. The restaurant was very busy, busier than usual, I was told. We were seated quickly, which felt promising. That momentum did not continue. After we said we weren't quite ready to order since we had just sat down and a couple of us were new to the spot, we asked the server to return. She did, about 10 minutes later. From there, it became a series of waits. The appetizer arrived first, then one main dish was served, leaving the other two diners waiting another 12 minutes. Plenty of time to admire someone else's food. There were a few service hiccups. One water glass had a visible crack and took some persistent hand waving to replace. The soy sauce container was empty, and after more waving, I eventually stood up and borrowed one from a nearby empty table. Light cardio included. The dishes are pricier than average, which I'm generally fine with. The restaurant is clean, newer, and located on the outskirts of East Greenwich, which may explain the pricing. What disappointed me was my $26 eel hot pot (aka Unagi Kobayaki). While it tasted good, it consisted of four slivers of eel, yes, four, which we confirmed, a few avocado slices, and a lot of rice. For that price, it felt ambitious. I could have enjoyed a very nice sushi meal elsewhere for less. Ordering clay hot pots is not new to me. To be fair, one of my companions ordered the Boneless spare ribs hot pot and enjoyed it. That dish had noticeably more protein and felt far more balanced. In short, the food flavors are good, but the service struggled, perhaps due to the holiday rush. I may try this place again on a less busy day, but with several other options nearby, I do not yet see a strong competitive advantage.

Yesterday would have been my son Gianni's 25th birthday. We gathered 24 close family and friends to honor him at the hibachi restaurant where he last ate before his passing. This was not a casual dinner it was a deeply emotional and sentimental night. A month ago, we made a reservation and then called three separate times to confirm we would have a specific private room that held special meaning for us. Each time, we were assured the room was ours. When we arrived, the restaurant was nearly empty, yet management attempted to keep us out of the very room we had reserved. After multiple discussions with the assistant manager, they finally honored the reservation. Unfortunately, things only worsened from there. Our assigned waitress entered the room visibly angry. When we asked if the checks could be separated, she left and never returned. Our entire party had to go to the bar just to order drinks. While my husband was waiting, he overheard this waitress loudly belittling and degrading our table for several minutes to the point that the bartenders tried to get her attention to let her know he was standing there. Later, when I went to the restroom, she confronted me and sarcastically asked if "everything was finally to my liking." I calmly explained why we were there and the emotional significance of the night. She laughed, crossed her arms, and told me I had "drunk eyes." Those were not drunk eyes. Those were the eyes of a grieving mother who had just spent the day lying in her son's bed on what should have been his birthday. When I told her she should choose her words more carefully, police were called on me. This restaurant has benefited from my family's loyalty for years. I hosted a 50-person birthday party here in November that generated over $5,000 in business. My son dined here in September with a group of 21. Last night, we brought 24 guests. Many of our friends have been weekly patrons for over a decade. To be treated with such cruelty, disrespect, and hostility during such a vulnerable moment is beyond comprehension. Compassion costs nothing. Kindness costs nothing. Basic professionalism costs nothing. Last night, all three were absent
