This restaurant needs to get their house in order... Massive amounts of empty tables 4 people standing at the Hostess desk laughing and talking with one woman working her hinnie off.... No manager in sight.... Put in our reserves and we're told 30/40 minutes... at 49 minutes we're told there are 6 tables ahead of us, at one hour in a hangery state I'm told they would seat us right away... Thank God I'm nice~ish, can't imagine how some people treat the waitress at this point... Pretty prompt service at the table. Talked to the team leader and was told they won't hire more help... it was BLATANTLY obvious they were understaffed. Turning people away left and right... Surprisingly delightful experience. The food was great, the service was great. Our waitress Elle was very bubbly, very enthusiastic and helpful. The coffee was delicious! I'd come back to the cafe just for the coffee! I came for two meals, dinner with the husb and breakfast by myself. I forgot to take breakfast pictures, but all delicious. I had the chicken and avocado sandwich, very tasty along with a salad instead of fries. The husb had the spaghetti with meatballs. We both enjoyed our meals. Dessert was also delicious. We had the chocolate moose. For breakfast I had the oatmeal and everything bagel with cream cheese. At night it was quiet, but breakfast was busy! What a great vibe in this cafe located inside Yaamava casino. Staff is super sweet and food is outstanding. Pastrami sandwich is packed full; Santa Maria Tri Tip was just so flavorful and smelled so good. Fries were perfectly cooked. The steak was cooked perfectly, juicy, and full of flavor, and the shrimp scampi pasta was rich, fresh, and very satisfying. Shoutout to our waitress Kimberly--she provided excellent service from start to finish. She was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. I definitely recommend making a reservation because this place can get pretty busy, but coming during the week made it a smooth and enjoyable visit. The three of us had dinner at Serrano Vista Café before a concert at the Yaamava' Theater. I'm glad I called to make a reservation since there were no bookings available online. I apologize for forgetting her name, but our waitress was wonderful, very friendly and helpful in explaining the menu. I ordered the pork chop, and she mentioned it might take about 20 minutes to prepare, but it actually arrived in just 10 minutes. My friend ordered the shrimp scampi, and my cousin chose the jambalaya. The jambalaya came with a really delicious cornbread. Since we were sharing everything, we wished the cornbread had been a little bigger! Overall, the dinner was delicious and the service was excellent. We also had a great time at the Big 4 concert afterward. Just a heads up, the theater doesn't allow outside food, so we had to throw away our leftovers, which was a bit of a bummer for my friend. The restaurant is located inside the casino. Easy to get there with visible signs leading you to the restaurant. I'm got the steak breakfast burrito which was okay. Very little meat in the burrito and they charged $25 for it. It did come with home potatoes which were okay. My husband got the Serrano breakfast plate which came with eggs, bacon and a stack of pancakes, which he enjoyed. I asked for two over easy eggs on top so I could break the yolk and mix it in with the pastrami (you can't go wrong with this). A line of spicy chipotle sauce encircled the dish and gave it that extra flavor enhancement that turned out to be so delicious! Highly recommend. - Asada Breakfast Burrito. Tender, marinated asada wrapped in a soft tortilla with just the right amount of eggs and cheese. The side of crispy potatoes were hearty and perfectly seasoned too. I have to say, this was a pretty good breakfast burrito! THE DRINKS. - Coffee. Rich, smooth, and hot; the wake-up you need after a night of laughs and gambling. THE PARKING. There are two self-parking garages which are free for visitors. The north garage connects to the casino via a pedestrian bridge on level 4. It's the garage you want to park in if you want the most direct walking access. The south garage is further away, but they have a courtesy shuttle running 24/7 if you end up here. THE VERDICT. This cafe delivered exactly what we expected: great food in a relaxed setting. If you're staying at the hotel and looking for a breakfast spot, no need to venture out; just head on down and dine here! One of the many food options at Yaamava'. Make sure to make reservations as they won't seat you until your reservation time (unless you can find an open seat at the bar). We heard great things about the clam chowder ($11) so we ordered that plus the ahi poke nachos ($23). Both were pretty good! The clam chowder has corn, which was unexpected but nevertheless a welcome add for the soup. The ahi poke comes with 9 fried wonton pieces and slices of half an avocado. Decent ratio of poke to avocado to chips. Service, much like the casino, is on point (minus the mid service from the hostess)! UPDATE: MANAGEMENT NEVER REACHED OUT TO ME. Wow. Just wow. Seems like there might need to be some retraining involved at the host stand. So it's 5 a.m. and apparently, despite the ample tables available and the fact that I saw people sitting and eating, I was turned away without explanation. I don't mind waiting but the hostess rudely told me I "would just have to wait until they texted me" with no time frame given. Meanwhile I watched as they sat another person. I was alone so I didn't need a large table and when I asked if they could give me a time frame to wait I was told they "didn't know." Again, no real explanation why and so I finally asked why and I was told it was "because of the servers." Again, very vague and y this time I was slightly offended. Somehow, I doubt this will even get a response but I was very tired and this was very very disappointing. Also, at this hour, it was the only venue open where I could use my $50 voucher and that did upset me. May be find another place to dine. read more

We had a great dining experience overall, but the seating process was the main downside. We waited about an hour even though the restaurant didn't look very busy, and there were visible open tables. The waitlist timing wasn't clear and even guests with reservations were still waiting, which was a bit frustrating. Once we were seated, everything was excellent. The restaurant is beautiful, very clean, with elegant lighting and nice attention to detail like fresh roses on each table. Our server Amir was amazing, very attentive and professional, and everything came out quickly once we ordered. The food was outstanding. The ribeye was cooked perfectly medium rare, very tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes, broccoli, shrimp add on, and Cobb salad were all fresh and delicious. Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere were excellent. The only downside was the long and unclear wait for seating. Actually so impressed with the food and the ambiance. The service was also superb as well! We each ordered a clam chowder and shared a plate of Asian bbq ribs and shrimp gumbo. Total for 3 people came out to be about $100 (with 20% discount for diamond members). Tip $20 on top of that. I would definitely come back for the clam chowder. Love the long seasoned bread that comes with it. I was ready to lick the bowl clean. Also love that when we order hot water with lemon and honey, it comes with a cut little jar of honey! It's the perfect amping for two cups of hot water and pairs so perfectly with the meal. Free refills on soda ($4) for a soda. Only thing I don't like is that they use paper straws. Came to Serrano for a dinner before our show at Yaamava theater. Great seasonal menu featuring some tasty California cuisine. You need a reservation to be seated so plan ahead. It is crowded on weekends and service is slower than normal. We have been here weekdays and weekends but this time (Sunday at 6:30pm) food came out rather slow. Maybe too many people for the show at the theater and they were overwhelmed?? Not sure, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt. We ordered some vegetarian Beyond meat burgers, gumbo, and pan seared sea bass. My sea bass was very good; it has that brown crunchy crust but the fish was tender and juicy. Gumbo wqs good too with huge shrimps and served with corn bread and honey butter. I didn't taste the vegan burgers but my sister said it was good. It was Father's day & we were early but we didn't have a reservation so it was taking a very long time to be seated as many kept going ahead of us, so we saw 2 seats at the bar (which was very comfortable by the way) and decided to eat there and it was a great choice! Food : I had Hot Honey Pepperoni Flatbread.I love it! It was decent portion and came out hot! And delicious! My hubby got Pastrami Sandwich and Oh Mannnnn it look so good and It was soooo good as well. Service : Fantastic! I can't remember our waitress's name but she was great! Really crazy because I've ate her a number of times, but I normally get the wings, flatbread or salad but this time I got the pastrami sandwich and OMG it was horrible. I knew it didn't look right when the first came to the table. Not even to mention it was semi burnt. I still tasted it. It didn't taste right I was picking through it, the other person I had taste it for reassurance, said that the Pastrami was bad. I immediately ran to the restroom and threw it up. I couldn't even hold it in. The manager comp me back a refund on my players card although I paid with my regular bank card and then tells me I have less than 10 days to use it. read more

Came in early this morning to have a little breakfast, luckily they were able to take us in early before our reservation. We didn't have to wait long before we were sat down and great by our waitress. Our waitress was very attentive and ensured our water and tea was always filled. When our meals came they looked amazing (no pics was too hungry). We ordered steaks, pancakes, and bagels and lox. The pancakes were nice and fluffy. The steaks were a juicy, tender , medium rare that didn't need any condiments because it was great on its own. The everything bagel and lox was good except for some slightly burnt edges on the bagel but the pickles onion and capers helps cut the taste of the burnt edges. Her name is Dorothy ,I was there with a reservation and when I was about to check in she told me to move away and go to your left,like ordering me with such a disrespectful way. She said she doesnt want anyone in front of her front desk. Why would she act in that manner. Her face was too grouchy,never say hi , never smile. She was very discourteous person and she did it also to the other person next to me. She had a very bad attitude problem and she doesn't belong to work in front the restaurant. If she doesnt like her job , then quit ,she need to leave her attitude at home. She was very cold ,unfriendly and rude person I ever encountered here in Vista Cafe. The host ,the waiter were both very nice. I was seated at a perfect table. I have no problem with the ambiance ,my problem was Dorothy who was very rude to customers.
