I came here all the time to get bread & cakes for friends, families, and coworkers. Per usual we went in today morning to get some goodies for my family, but the women that was working around 9:30am was very angry and annoyed. There wasn't much bread on display since it just opened an hour ago. Instead of asking us if we needed help she looked upset/annoyed. I carefully asked the lady if they had more bread coming out, and she rudely said "it's going be a long time." I don't know if she was having a bad day but she was super rude, and was talking to us as if she was mad. She didn't even say a full sentence when she said it was going to be a long time. What is that even suppose to mean? Also, I had my dog with me, and she started rudely shouting out "you cannot bring a dog in here." She could have nicely asked us to not bring the dog in and even ask if it was a service dog. Do they not even welcome service dogs here? It put me in a very embarrassing situation since she shouted at me, and I couldn't say anything back since I didn't want to disclose personal health information. It was upsetting, so we just walked out without buying anything. It sucks that people with any type of disability could get discriminated here. I used to be a loyal customer here for over 10 years, and they were always super nice and accomedating, so it was a surprise that this happened to us today. If the owners sees this, please address the issue and fix it instead of upsetting customers away. read more

Best traditional Korean bakery, go early if you want the sausage bread. I love this spot and I would go everyday if I can live off the bread. Try the gombo bread (peanut), sausage bread, croquet (not sure if the spellings right lol), twist sugar donut, sweet potato, and the butter cream. Literally so bomb and it's so cheap, not like some of the other bakeries where one bread is $5. All the little breads are worth $2-3 and they sell loaves as well but I can't recall how much they were. read more

This is one of the few bakeries where the size of the buns has NOT shrunk into oblivion like so many others! The quality, freshness, and deliciousness haven't changed, either. It's a very small place and the items sell out quickly. I guess that's part of the thrill for me....I never know what will be left on the shelves when I get there. My mom was by the front door telling me what to get. I got so annoyed by her getting all loud and stupid that I left. The owner cashier old woman is the worst and rudest person ever. Simple as that. Bought $50 worth of breads and she calculated the bill wrong 3 times and didn't even apologize for that. She was off more than $20 each time and just say "I want to do it again." No apologize. I've already seen her attitude a couple times so this is no surprise but seriously, I will never go back again. First time here even though we only live 5 minutes from here. The ladies working inside were super nice and friendly and the entire place smelled so delicious!! In the Korean community there's the conventional bakeries such as Tous Les Jours, Cake House, and the shitty Paris Baguette etc. Then you have the more Mom and Pop old-school bakeries such as Manmi and Ye Wool. I prefer Ye Wool specifically for their Mammoth Bread. Food: Mammoth Bread is a particular Korean bread that is not commonly encountered and even if they were, they're made in the default format. Ye Wool makes the best Mammoth bread [it's their signature] in the sense there's additional layers to theirs. Other places' Mammoth bread usually only have jams and whipped cream as the bread's filling. The Mammoth bread at Ye Wool has an additional layer of red bean, a layer of green bean and walnuts in the middle between the whipped cream. The texture of the bread is pillowy soft and moist, the red bean, green bean, and whipped cream melts harmoniously in the mouth as you eat the bread. The crushed walnuts and crumbles on the outer top layer adds a nice touch to the overall package. A slice of this Mammoth bread goes great in the morning with a cup of black coffee. Service: Adequate. Price: Price is great: $6 per Mammoth bread is a good deal considering the amount of work and ingredients that goes into making it. Most people like Korean BBQ and I often wish that they would have the same feeling about Korean pastries. I'm not a huge carb person myself, but when I get the craving, this bakery is on the TOP of my list. I used to purchase a box of 12 pastries for 10 bucks, but that was a while back when places like this could even afford to give you a steal like that. Now it's about $1 to $1.50 per piece, which in my mind is still a great deal. I often take the treats to work and share with my co-workers, kind of like how someone brings a box of donuts. But, the reaction I get is definitely a plus, since most people don't know about these delectable desserts. With any Korean bakery, the first thing I notice is whether they make their own bread and cakes. It's a deal breaker on whether their stuff is fresh or not. This place consistently bakes and prepares their own stuff, as you can taste the freshness and quality in each item they sell. My favorite is the Koroke. It's fried with the outer layer slightly crispy, with soft veggies, potato, and meat on the inside. When it's warm, the sentiment is like a Krispy Kreme donut when the sign shows HOT DONUTS, but just not as sweet. The Red Bean and Gombo (peanut butter bread) comes in 2ND and 3RD place, respectively. The Red Bean isn't as sugary as you'd think it would be and the Gombo is slightly sweet with the right amount of softness and texture. I like having them both with milk for breakfast, so that I can start my day proper. I haven't tried their cakes, but my sister loves their rolls and she's a hard one to please. I buy a loaf of bread here and there and when I do, I'm never disappointed. Open each day from 8AM to 9PM (with the exception of Sunday), my recommendation is to come in the morning when the pastries are really fresh or possibly call the day before to have your order ready, if you're making a large purchase. This small bakery is in a nugget of a spot, hard to find for the untrained eye, but beyond worth when discovering. This place use to be packed when the Korean plaza was still popular. Now, as fewer people come to the desolate plaza, Ye Wool Bakery is still the one place that attracts customers far and wide. FOOD: 5 stars This place offers much better bread and baked goods than the bakeries you'll find inside Korean markets. Their bread is always fresher because it's their own store and the constant demand for it. They have breads that are savory (sausage bread, pizza bread, garlic bread) as well as sweet (butter cream bread, cream puffs, rusk). And I've come here for as long as I can remember, and I still feel happy eating their bread. They also have great cakes and jelly rolls, but it's their selection of bread/pastries that you want. PRICING: 5 stars This place is so cheap. Much cheaper than those same inside-Korean-markets-bakeries I mentioned earlier. Much of their breads hover from $1.00 - $1.50. Also, no tax so what you see in price is how much you pay. CONCLUSION: Why are you reading this?! Go there now and get some damn good Korean bread! Also, bring me some! read more

When I'm craving some Cream Pan, 85degrees or Paris Baguette but don't feel like driving Ye Wool Bakery consistently does the job! So many tasty fresh breads to choose from! I walked out with a few of their peanut butter bread, it's super tasty and not too sweet at all. Kinda bummed I really wanted to try the Koroke but they were all out by 9:20am!!! There were peeps lined up to pick up cake orders, note to self cakes appear to be popular. The lady was very sweet and suggested a few other breads for me to try all ranging in price starting at $1.25-$2+... Who knows she might be the owner, in any case she offered to make more Koroke if I wanted to come back in an hour. How freaking awesome is that? I didn't return same day because I was pretty set with my other choices. I will definitely be returning and plan to arrive early to get me some Koroke. Unless you're buying for the masses I suggest paying cash but they gladly accept credit cards too. It's a tiny shop and there is no seating available. Wowww, Ye Wool has stepped up its game! I always thought it was a neighborhood bakery that supplies the local Korean children's sandwich bread but I recently had a cake from here and was surprised! Not only was it really pretty but it tasted amazing! Paris Baguette still has my business for their blueberry yogurt cake but if you're looking for a coffee-flavored cake, come here! My cake came with a cocoa powder dust on top, three layers of cake with strawberry bits inside and almond bits outside. It was soooo gooooodddd, I may or may not have had a quarter slice in one sitting and regretted it at the gym later on... but it's not Ye Wool's fault for the cake being THAT GOOD! read more

Nice bakery in a Korean centric shopping mall. My girlfriend and I hurried in to buy a last minute birthday cake for one of our other girlfriends and we were delighted with what we purchased here. I think it was the packaging and the presentation that most impressed us. The box she put the cake in transformed itself into a cute little package. We literally "awwwwed" when she made the cake box into a little carrying case. She included a large plastic chef's style knife for us to cut the cake with and gave us cute candles to put on the cake. One of my favorite Korean bakeries in the area (no I am not Korean, therefore this is no a biased review) The honey castella is awesome. Just the right sweetness without being overwhelming and the crumb is so tender and soft. Also, it has just the right amount of moisture, which is pleasant when enjoying one. I've had a lot of the cream-filled breads (I'm not really sure of any of the names). They are generally sweet breads with some sort of whipped cream or cream cheese mixture. The bread to all their pastries are always so tender, soft, and yeasty. LOVE LOVE LOVE what they have to offer. OVERALL: They have another bakery inside of WOORI MARKET on Carmenita & 183rd. Great little bakery. I love their cream puffs. I brought some for my coworkers today and everyone loved it. Best part is, you don't have to pay a ridiculous amount for them. Some places charge $24 for a dozen cream puffs. I only paid $6 here and they were the perfect size. Their other pastries are great too. This bakery is awesome. Like many Korean bakeries, most selections are inexpensive and not too sweet. This is a welcome change from the $4 triple fudge cupcake stuffed with chocolate filling. Some of the breads have meat and vegetable fillings that can be a quick snack or a meal substitute for the (m)anorexic among us. My favorite is the gombo bread. It has the right level of crunch and sweetness that I can't seem to find anywhere else. So whenever I'm in town, I buy about 5-10 of these. (To the owners: yup, I'm THAT guy.) To be honest, I had serious reservations about posting a positive review of this place because I wanted to keep this hidden gem to myself. I usually come here for the sweet butter sandwich. Its two slices of yummy, soft bread with sweet, airy butter in between. I recently discovered something delicious here...TAPIOCA BREAD. Its has a crusty outside and a soft chewy center. It also has assorted nuts and seeds. I detected walnuts and black sesame for sure. Their roll cakes are amazing! My friend bought a mocha/green tea flavored roll cake which was really soft & had cream inside and it was amazing! Roll cakes from Yewool have different taste compared to other bakeries (has deeper & natural taste to it) I've been to! Oh.. i also tried their red bean pastry and it was really yummy too! The red bean wasn't too sweet and it blended well with the bread. Their vegetable bread was also delicious & fulfilling (can substitute for a light breakfast/lunch). I am addicted to the their Gombo (peanut butter) bread. I've had Gobmo bread at other Korean Bakeries, but they never stood out. But after I first had a Gombo bread here, I couldn't get it out of my head. I used to work in the plaza, so I would always stop by here during my break to get the baked croquette (my personal favorite). If you like sweet things, definitely try their twisted donuts! I love this place! They don't have a million selections like 85, but whatever they do have is terrific! All their breads are so so so soft, fluffy, and airy. It can get a little sweet (if you're a pig like me and eat 5 of them in a row), so have them with tea or milk. The cream puffs are good, but I like Manmi's cream puffs better. Ye sells their cream puffs for 2 for $1, which I think is kind of expensive. Everything else is around $.80-$1.25 each. read more

Ever since I've moved to Buena Park, I couldn't seem to find a bakery I liked. I'm not into fancy cakes that looks really pretty, over priced and taste bad I like cakes that looks cute and taste bomb!! I'm happy that I've found this bakery. The cakes and the bread is really fresh after a day. Not greasy at all. I've noticed the breads has alot of filling comparing to Paris, Cake House and other Korean bakery's. Love it~!!
