Fantastic pizza, great beer selection, service is vastly different when it's busy vs. not busy during the day. 1st experience at mid day was magical, service was excellent, great view from balcony, great beer and pizza. Next day at night on a Saturday, it was a 20 minute wait at the door followed by being seated in the rain and no server appearing for 20 minutes only to not have the beer we wanted and having to re-seat ourselves and move dirty dishes to get a decent table away from the freezing rain. Apparently our server was busy doing something in the back and no one told him we were seated. We asked two other servers to check on who our server was and apparently they were too busy to walk 20 feet to check. Sad because the food is really great. We'll chalk that one up to being slammed on a Saturday night. Assert yourself if it's a busy weekend and you should be ok :) read more

Tried a couple pizza joints in Jackson Hole. This one is my favorite. Great tasting dough and amazing ingredients. Everything taste so fresh and it just the flavors explode. We got the side salad Caesar (very large size) and shared that between two. Then grabbed two pizzas to share between two adults and two kids (had nearly a whole pizza left over after everyone was full). We got the Quattro and Pepperoni. The Quattro was amazing and believe it or not the best flavor on it? The mushrooms, seriously the best mushroom taste I've ever had on a pizza. We will be back. read more

Pizzeria Caldera makes excellent pizza. Not NY Style but Neapolitan style, and like I say they do it well. A friend hit Pizzeria Caldera for a late lunch after a morning of fishing. While primarily a pizza joint, they do serve salads and a very small pasta menu. After a quick look at the I chose the Porcellino - tomato sauce, mozzarella, pork sausage, pancetta, mushrooms, spinach, roasted garlic, fresh sage. My friend chose the Bisonte - tomato sauce, mozzarella, bison sausage, yellow pepper, red onion, fresh sage. Both were excellent, the crust had a excellent char and just crunchy enough. Toppings were fresh, not canned, everything was well thought out with all the flavors working together. A couple of micro-brew beers topped the meal off perfectly. While pizza's are not baked in a true wood oven, they are bake in a very high temperature gas fired oven, the high temperature generated is whats needed for Neapolitan style pizza. It's rare to find pizza of this quality. All pizzas are 12". Tuesdays means 2 for 1 pizza, this is good since prices range from $13 to $17, high yes but Pizzeria Caldera serves an excellent pie. Tuesdays 2 for 1 pizza! 5 star flavor, 3 star price (non-Tuesday). That said I would hate to see the rent the owners have to pay for a location in downtown Jackson, adding to that the quality of the fresh toppings is unavoidable. So maybe the price isn't so bad. Just don't expect to feed a family of 4 for a $20 bill. Service couldn't have been better, very nice folks that run the place. I'll be looking forward to my next visit. read more

Based on the reviews, I had really wanted to like this place. I had actually planned on going to a different pizza place nearby but they were closed. When I arrived, it was very busy and crowded. I was traveling alone for business, and was made to feel like my business was not appreciated here. I was pushed into a corner table where waiters and waitresses passed by me countless times, hitting my table repeatedly and not once saying sorry or excuse me. The food was okay. I was surprised I did not see more of a wine selection, which was a bit disappointing for me. Mostly dry wines. The pizza itself was not something I'd travel a distance for. I am from NY and we have plenty of pizza places that are similar and deliver much better quality for a lower price. My waitress was also okay, she did not come to check on me much and I had to wait a long time for a box and the check. Bottom line: I would probably bypass this place and go elsewhere. read more

GREAT Neapolitan style pizza! Definitely the best choice for pizza in Jackson. Crispy crust, FRESH tomato sauce and mozzarella. Truly authentic stuff here. You won't find a better slice/pie in the area. They also have a really great Happy Hour special: beer and a slice for $5! And they have a sick view of the Town Square from their balcony. One caveat, they only sell 14 inch pies after lunch time. Meaning that if you want to purchase by the slice, you'd better go for lunch. They say the 14 inch pie is the best way to experience all that their pizza has to offer. That may well be true, but sometimes you want a large pie, and sometimes you just want a slice. Very thin and pretty good pizza. The location looms above the busy intersection in the center of town so it's a nice opportunity to people watch and eat pizza. We arrived a little after 12:30 and had no trouble finding a seat outside. My wife and I ordered the 12" Cipolle and a pepperoni. The crust was quite thin so a hungry person could eat a whole one if they so desired. The sauce and cheese on the pep was good but not great. The sauce-less Cipolle had a great taste with the onions and apple. The price was right for us because of the Yelp deal but we probably would not have tried it if it weren't for the coupon. The service was pretty good. The pizza came out pretty quick and they were quick to sweep up tables when people left. I thought it was alright but not amazing. Halfway through a Wild West road trip, we rolled into Jackson Hole around 7 on a Saturday night, and were absolutely craving pizza. The kind of craving that makes the Grand Teton look like a giant slice of (insert your favorite pizza here), and reduces communication with travel companions to caveman-esque grunts and blank stares. There were two pizza joints in downtown Jackson Hole essentially next door to each other. Since Pizzeria Caldera was two steps closer to the car, we ended up in a small line salivating over everything coming out of the kitchen. We were seated within 10 minutes which is impressive for a Saturday night in a tourist hot spot. Down to the important stuff: The beer selection here is top notch! There's a good variety of local brews, but not so many that you spend more time deciding on a beer than eating delicious pizza. And oh, the pizza! While not the best pizza I've had in my lifetime, this is definitely top 5 and I would happily eat here on a weekly (ok, daily) basis. Note that this pizza is baked in a wood fire oven and has fresh, unique ingredients that you might not expect, but somehow work together beautifully on a pizza (and in your mouth)! If you're looking for a soggy cardboard crust laden with GMO oil and basted with fake cheese, I'd suggest going to Dominoes instead. As the icing on the cake, the service here is excellent! Not only can the staff seat customers and take orders/deliver slices of heaven promptly, our server made time to sit down and chit chat with us for a couple minutes. I'm suspecting the use of a time turner (Harry Potter fans will understand). If you find yourself in Jackson Hole craving pizza, a trip to Pizzeria Caldera will be well worth your time and the workout of your taste buds! read more

My family and I are locals to Jackson, Wy and decided to visit pizza caldera. The service was horrible! Lack of communication all around, our waiter was rolling his eyes at us. I've worked in costumer service, trust me, we were not being needy! We found a hair in our pizza and were told that the hair seemed too long for anyone working there. We would not go out of our way to intentionally do that, we were honestly Interested in trying the pizza we had ordered, had we known it was only going to be taken off our tab and they would not bring out a fresh pizza, I would have ordered a new one, but they did not communicate at all! Food was good, but if you are ordering a lunch special you only get two choices between pizza. Would be better if they offered personal pizza option. Bald guy at the bar wouldnt accept my temporary drivers license for a beer even though every restaurant has up to this point, so I just ordered an soda. They brought out our salads and pizza to us without silverware. I asked if we could get forks for our salads and baldo said you can get silverware and napkins up at the bar. Mind you I had a baby I was attending to so it would have been way more convenient for him to just walk in and grab some for me. Now if you brought us our food out then wouldnt it make sense to bring silverware as well since we were already seated? It was counter service sonwhy not at least say your silverware is right there or at least hand us silverware where we ordered? I have been to many counter service restaurants who dont bring your food out so of course you grab your own. This is something for the owners and manager to consider in the future considering we paid over thirty bucks for 3 small salads and one slice of pizza each with a soda. Wont be stopping here for future visits to Jackson and I only live a couple hours away. read more

Absolutely the worst service of any restaurant I have ever been in!!!!! We waited for 10 minutes and were completely ignored even though there were only 6 other tables with customers. There were people standing around in the kitchen and talking at the bar with each other rather than waiting on customers. No one at the other tables had any food with the exception of one and only two of the other tables had anything but water. I can't believe it stays in business with customer service this poor. We were there on a Friday night around 5 and it was almost deserted. That should have been our first clue. Went next door to Pinky G's and it was awesome. Great pizza. I can't recall the name of what I had but it had clams on it. That was new for me and was excellent. We sat on the porch and watched the Jackson Hole traffic go by. My buddies had the daily pizza and a margarita pizza. They both ate theirs and some of mine. Good service. The gentleman who was their appeared to be the owner and took good care of us. What a great place in a small town like Jackson! Taking an 8 year old son for the trip often takes parents a pizza place whether you like or not. However, this is a place that both kids and parents can enjoy. Besides pizzas, I found that salad and appetizer dishes were pleasing my palate. Servers were amazing and very friendly. This place worth every penny, and I really enjoyed my time here. Flat lavash bread with tomato & basil is a must! Organic Zenzero salad was great as well! read more

Server pushed hard on the appetizers, says pizza will take 30-35 minutes, so we order the caprese salad (not worth $10 but whatever) and garlic bread (totally not worth the $). Went there mid day on new years eve. Just stumbled across this place and the wait was the shortest compared to other places. Pizza was great, beer selection good, COVID protocols were perfect with the limited seating being strictly followed, but most importantly the bald dude who took our order was hustlin! Honestly, our whole week in Jackson we found only a handful of places that had even decent customer service, which is surprising for a tourist town. We spent 10 days in Jackson Hole and came to Pizza Caldera twice. The pizza is really, really good. It is thin crust and comes to the table with gorgeous blisters and some blackened edges on the crust. The salads are fresh and delicious and just the right thing with the pizza.
