Outstanding service and delicious food. We called to confirm pets were allowed after going to a different restaurant which had been recommended to us. The manager was very welcoming over the phone so we drove a few blocks to their restaurant. I asked Veronica our server if she would recommend the Mediterranean Salad or the Berry Salad. She recommended the Berry salad which was outstanding with fresh berries, watermelon and feta! The balsamic vinaigrette was the best I have ever had! We ordered a chicken breast for our senior dog Allie, which arrive quickly and she very much enjoyed it. My husband had the Chicken Cobb salad - also delicious. The Postole and Chicken Tortilla soups were both homemade and delicious! Tortilla soup had squash, zucchini, tomatoes, cheese, corn l, avocado and chicken - Yum! The Posole Soup in a Green base with Hominy and fresh chunks of pork enhanced with a spicy mix of Green Chiles and some Jalapenos got the slices flowing ! The fresh large Cobb Salad and their spin on Chicken Cordon Bleu with Jack cheese and delicate tasty batter was also moist and delicious. Checking in to get a table was a bit chaotic but it was worth it in the end. We called earlier in the day and were told they do not take reservations. When we arrived later that night the party in front of us was checking in and made a reservation. People were cutting in line to get a table and it appeared they weren't going off the list but we were seated in just about 10 minutes so it all worked out. The restaurant is clean and cozy with candles on the tables. They also have plenty of outdoor seating. Our server was friendly and efficient and the food came out quickly. I had the chicken parm with mashed potatoes and a side salad and really enjoyed it. The other diners at my table had steak and Cajun pasta. Everyone throughly enjoyed their meal and left absolutely stuffed. This is a great option if you are in the area. read more

The outdoor patio is very large and offers low and high top tables-some are covered by a sun screen and some have umbrellas. The patio is surrounded by a privacy wall and tall bushes, which is nice because the restaurant is just off busy Main Street. There was also a live band that Saturday night playing a mix of country and southern rock, which was fun. I had a French 75 and my companion had a Tequila Sour. The drinks were nicely made and balanced. Then we shared the cheeseboard, which had a nice selection of cheeses, olives, and fruit accompanied by sliced garlic bread. Our server was very nice. Because the restaurant was so packed, she came by to tell us that the bar was backed up and our drinks would be out soon. We weren't that hungry, but there were several salads (poached pear, roasted grape, and warm Brussels sprouts) that looked appealing. If we had more time in town, I'd go back. read more

I read the reviews before coming in and had high expectations, that were pleasantly met and exceeded! The patio area is so cute and has a bunch of twinkle lights that make for a fun atmosphere. The inside isn't huge but feels very welcoming. We sat inside and it was really enjoyable. Our server was so friendly and answered all of our questions. We had the tortilla soup which was really delicious and just a little bit zesty. The warm brussel sprout salad is something of my dreams! It was soooo delicious! My friends and I met in Carlsbad for a few day mini vacation. In searching reviews we decided to have out first meal at Yellow Brix due to the high ratings. I am gluten free, and they have a separate menu for restricted diets, not just for gluten free, but also vegetarian and vegan. My plate was the chicken paremesan. It was very good, but too large a portion. I do wish restaurants would give an option of half plates. What stood out was Roberto, our server. He was personable and made us feel like guests he was taking care of, not just customers he was serving. You could tell he enjoyed his job, and although I think he is new, he really made the effort to give a good impression. We enjoyed our meals, my friends had the steaks that they declared were excellent (kudos to the chef). We even came back the next day for lunch. I had the steak tacos, which were very good. There were three, but I could have had just two. read more

The double-cut pork chop was moist and flavorful. It was a pleasant 76º at 8 pm, buy quite honestly, the busy traffic noise (squeaking brakes, burn-outs, down-shifting) put a damper on the ambience. It would really depend on what you are looking for. When we were there the ambiance was a cross between a sports bar, a wine bar, a ristorante, and a nice diner. It was loud while we were there, not a place for an intimate meal. My wife's mojito was ho-hum, but my beer was just fine:). Wine and mixed drink menus were extensive, but beer had a bunch of lagers and not much else. Menu was Southwest eclectic, a southwest flair to many meals, but everything from meatloaf to Italian pasta, steaks and burger in between. A godsend! We had several mediocre and worse meals in Carlsbad, and thankfully found Yellow Brix on Yelp. I can't understand why it isn't the highest rated place in town (side note- we did visit the highest rated place in town and was one of the worst meals any of us ever had. ) Yellow Brix offers fresh foods, good cocktails in a lovely atmosphere. We shared a board, with lovely meats, cheeses, nuts, fruits and more and it was very good. We all also enjoyed our cocktails very much. The super stars were the dinner salads, not just because we were really wanting some fresh food. They were perfectly dressed, the ingredients were interesting and well prepared. The food was good. However, the dinning room needs reconfigured, it's cramped and loud and hard to get through. If someone's already in the women's restroom, you have to stand in the doorway to part of back of house for other people to be able to come through. I had the very best breakfast today! It's Saturday so of course we had some drinks. Saleen made us delish Orange Tea shots and gave great service for breakfast as well. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs and it was not your average order. The gravy was so flavorful and the chicken fry fell off my knife, I didn't even need it! Christian was serving inside and out while triple sat and still managed to keep up and serve us amazingly, keep it up. Back to the food, it was so delicious.
