The deli itself is great, and makes a lot of awesome sandwiches for decent prices. As I said, I don't like the weird upcharges for certain ingredients, but so be it. It makes the prices of a sandwich soar from decent to ridiculous. The sandwiches aren't altogether authentic Italian NY-NJ style, but they are very good. I loved the parts of it that I had fresh, however when I had the rest of the sandwich a little later it had gotten extremely squidgy and soggy because they use a regular loaf of bread rather than anythng hard or Italian. Again, makes it less authentic but still very tasty. Despite these remarks, I haven't had a sandwich this good in the Richmond area before, so you should give it a try. And if it were Niche Produce, then they'd only sell unusual and hard to get hipster vegetables and sandwiches. Whereas if it wer Nix Produce, it would close down soon. And if it were Knickers Produce then I would have torn them down a lot more quickly and intensely than I did in this review.

We met the owner Faizal who was super friendly and talked to us about these popular ice cream sandwiches. After staring at the freezer for a few minutes trying to decide on flavors we all ended up with 5 ice cream sandwiches - 2 strawberry shortcakes, pecan pie, miso churro & peach cinnamon. We got to the car and ripped them open. They got soft quick so be sure to eat them up quickly. These ice cream sandwiches were huge. Both sides of the sandwiches were thick and chewy and the ice cream in the middle was stacked full giving you that perfect bite. The flavors were all so so good!!! My fave though would probably be the strawberry shortcake which had chunks of strawberries in it. The pecan pie was very good too, my fave ice cream flavor is butter pecan so I knew I would love the pecan pie flavor. Can't wait to try more of these and we will definitely be back to north side for their full stock of them! You grab a plate / take out box, go down buffet styles lanes, and fill your plate with whatever you want; it's all by weight. I've been here 3 or 4 times in the past few weeks, which should give an indication as to whether I like it or not. Each time I've tried something new, but among the things I've sampled are grilled chicken skewers, BBQ pork, meatloaf, sweet and spicy chicken, grilled chicken, roasted chicken, watermelon, crab cake, baked fish, veggie sushi, mac and cheese, pasta salad, and more. Alright, it's cafeteria food. But it's cafeteria food that has that little bit of homemade taste that makes it infinitely better than the stereotypical "angry lunch lady with a ladle, slopping food onto a tray" food. The one downside is that depending on the time you stop by, you might be getting food that's sat there a bit. I suppose if you filled up your plate with heavy items, you might pay more, but I have left completely stuffed for $7.50 every time. --Atmosphere: Soho is located inside of BB&T, which I believe is a bank, and is in some really fancy looking towers. The eating area is pretty basic, but nice enough, and the outdoor seating is really pretty. It's been too hot to eat outside, but it's nice to look at. --Service: There is a sandwich station that has employees, but for the most part, it's all serve yourself, like a buffet place. The staff at the register isn't very talkative, but always seems really pleasant. --Overall: It's not glorious. It's not high class eating. It's essentially a buffet cafeteria. But you know what? The price is very reasonable, a lot of the food tastes pretty home made, there are a lot of options, it's right by my building, and it's open all afternoon. For what it is, Soho is a really good lunch option. Give it a try!

This sounds like it should be a simple concept but so many sandwiches fall short of hitting the mark. THIS ONE DOES NOT! The meat on this sandwich is cooked wonderfully. The seasoning is perfect. The temperature is excellent. It's juicy and not any way overcooked. It smells amazing as soon as you open the bag. The fries are also a sticking point for me. They are golden brown and have just the right amount of salt and crunch to them without being dried out. My lunch is always really in minutes and I enjoy talking to the owner while I wait. He always greets me with a smile and makes my business feel appreciated. There are several other menu options but I am so smitten with this one that I have not ventured to try anything else.

This is a great little market with a great selection of all things Latin at incredible prices (particularly the spices). But this place has a something extra to offer with their small lunch counter in the back. On this trip in, DH and I ordered a bunch of the al pastor tacos (priced at $2 each). They were served up in soft corn tortillas and dressed with chopped onion and cilantro (just like they should be). Their salsa verde comes on the side. You may want to do to the finger test before pouring it over your taco as it is pretty hot and spicy. But it complemented the flavors of the al pastor tacos beautifully. Washed down with a bottled limeade, it made for a great little lunch.

All of the dishes were flavorfully seasoned and cooked well. For dessert I had the tufahija apple dessert since it was the only gluten free dessert option. For how simple that dessert was it was surprisingly good. It was cooked apple stuffed with walnuts and garnished with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and the syrup that it was cooked in as well. The apple still had a bit of crisp texture which I enjoyed. Throughout our meal the staff checked on us to make sure everything was going well. I'll 100% come here again since I'd like my friends to try some of the grilled meats next time.
