By the way, I encourage you to read the other reviews; The company takes no responsibility when anything goes wrong in a property they manage--it is all someone else's fault, not theirs to blame or apparently to remediate. Diirty rentals, why, the previous renters caused that (no kidding)--never mind that they were supposed to clean it thoroughly after each rental and were paid by the previous renters to do so! How dare you complain--silly new renters--do you really expect a clean home for your measly $400 a night (which they take $120), plus 100% of the cleaning fees. Don't be silly! Rolf, I gave you the money to hire a photographer and market the property, which you did not deliver on both counts. The visits you made by you and your team were to assess the property and to set and recommend the rent we should charge--you don't get paid for those visits--I have never paid a real estate agent before they sold or found a home for me. The bathrooms were clean , and yes they flush , not a portable potty. There is a small play area for kids and some benches with Barbecues. If you need the code for the gate the lodge will provide. If you are a local, contact the ALA . You can fish here, but there are signs everywhere saying do not eat what you catch and NO swimming. There are pretty foul life such as ducks and some geese , but the fish don't look so good . I saw at lease 5 dead catfish and 3 carp fish floating on the water. The water is very murky and dirty looking. It didn't smell though, and there was no trash in it. So the lake is look but don't touch status.

It's worn down and needs upkeep. The map they give to the pool is completely WRONG! The surroundings are beautiful and the temperatures in the evenings are nice, but it's hard to read or watch tv with all the noisy neighbors! And for some reason some units have garages and others don't! We did not get to have one but I don't know why. There seems to be quite a discrepancy between units. Also, only one car per unit is provided with a parking space and any other cars have to park quite a ways away! Because of Covid they had removed all games and books and movies. The unit looks pretty clean but the bathtub upstairs needs some elbow grease and a Mr. Clean eraser! It's dirty! TV channels are very limited and the screen in the living room is TINY!! After spending a week there I still feel they need a lot of upgrading- faucets, fixtures need replacing. The flow of water from the shower head was terrible!! Needs new shower heads and more pressure! The walkway down to the parking needed repairs and the railings needed some scrubbing! We couldn't use the fireplace which was a bummer. It did get quite cool a couple evenings we were there in August. It would have been nice. The kitchen is very tiny but seemed to have all that you would need. We ate out for dinner since two people really couldn't be in the kitchen at the same time! Overall it was an ok space, but with Lake Arrowhead being a private Lake, I'd go somewhere else. More than enough room to sleep multiple people or even families. The guest house is huge and more than accommodated our family members plus there are two "tree houses" and a tee-pee on the property as well! All of them have electricity and beds. On top of the place being gorgeous, everyone was so nice and always made sure we had everything we needed. Always on call if you have a question or need anything. It was just perfect. We stayed for 5 days but honestly wished we would have stayed longer. Highly recommend Pine Mountain for your next family vacation, wedding or just to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city below. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making our wedding so very special. It is something I will treasure always.

The daily buffets will leave you (and your pants) feeling like you just came off a cruise ship. The entire staff is amazing. Be sure to tip well! They all deserve it. They have a drop slot at the front desk where you can leave a tip envelope at the end of your stay. I love coming back each year and seeing familiar faces. It's nice that the staff remembers us as well. They take the comment cards seriously, as they are always trying to improve their services. And they do their best to accommodate special requests as well! Just for giggles, I submitted a request for the honor bar via email. And I was very happily surprised when the item I requested was ready and waiting for me! I wish I had known about Bruin woods when I was at ucla. There are also 3 new Pickleball courts at a park 15 minutes away by car. Don't bother walking to the lake or village. All downhill to get there thus all uphill back. Now the downsides. Awful driveway. Super steep and you need a running start. We got stuck and needed AAA. There are 34 stairs up from the road to the entrance. Stairs are falling apart with nails sticking up, a couple of broken treads. Then another set of stairs to get to the second floor with narrow treads. Overall, still recommended if you don't mind all the stairs and you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle for the driveway. Those two items would preclude our return.
