This is our favorite Thai restaurant for takeout. We've also dined-in and had an equally enjoyable experience. The crab rangoon is nice and crispy, and not chewy, and the pad Thai and red curry are consistently delicious. We haven't been disappointed with any of our meals here. read more

Pretty tasty for Thai food. The cucumber salad was fresh and delicious. The pad see eiw was excellent :) The green curry was a bit thicker than most traditional Thai curries- but it was still very tasty and flavorful. I rarely rate 5's and this place has me questioning it. They're always super friendly and the tom kha is fantastic and it keeps me coming back. They're a small place and parking isn't that great but it's a great place to slip away to. Of all the food I've had there (been there about 6 times) everything has been good to excellent. Been coming here for a long time, but enough is enough. This place is way overpriced for what it is in the neighborhood. Nothing special about the food. In fact most of the Thai people I've met have recommended me to Aroy Thai, Roseded or Sticky Rice. I ordered a bowl of tom kha soup today and it was awful. It was basically a bowl of red curry sauce. Inedible.

I have made so many good memories at yesterday. My boyfriend and I went on our first date here, we have had so many special meals together here, and it is now a place that we share with family and friends. I would give it four star when it comes to food. The reason it ends up with two stars is that I confirmed one of the reviewers' comment about changing the amount of tips. I paid attention last time I went here for dinner and kept the receipt (I tipped a solid 20%). Today when I checked the bank statement, I found out the tip amount was added by $1.00. It's not big amount of money and not that I care about getting the $1.00 back. It's about trust between a business and customers. I encourage everyone to keep the receipt and double check the amount on your bank statement later. Without trust, no matter how good the food is, it will not work out in the end. read more

I was recovering from the flu and was craving carbs. I did some soul searching and concluded that drunken noodles from Yes would satisfy that craving. I called for delivery and was told my noodles would be at my door in about an hour. I was finally getting my appetite back and an hour seemed like an eternity. But, Yes came through for me because in about 30 minutes I got a text that my noodles arrived, and a friendly delivery guy was at my door with bag in hand. The drunken noodles were super spicy and fresh with crunchy vegetables. The noodles were straight from the kitchen hot. So delicious! I would say yes to Yes. read more

They are amongst the few that serves the perfect brown rice. I went to Yes Thai for dinner and ordered the standard Pad Thai Tofu and Thai iced coffee. I love Thai iced coffee and Yes Thai did not disappoint, but the Pad Thai Tofu tasted as if it were drenched in salt, which as you can imagine wasn't very appetizing. I might go back, but I'll order something else if I do. If you get a chance to check out their web site, please do so as it is hilarious and highly entertaining. By far the worst experience I've been subjected to in years. If I could give 0 stars I would. I ordered for delivery and it arrived 40 minutes late. The food was ice cold and not fit for human consumption. I took one bite and gave the rest to the trash can! as i was on my way out of town one day, i noticed my car making a noise, and decided to take it in to speedline down the street. they recommended this place for a lunch spot while i waited... i was feeling doubtful when i walked in at 12:30 and there was only 1 other customer, but i sat down and ordered their lunch special- an appetizer and entrée for $6, and the thai iced tea. the appetizer- 3 little spring rolls with dipping sauce- is hands down the best i've had. i could've eaten 20 of those and called it a day. but then the pad thai came, the portion sized for at least 2 people, and i was in heaven. the service and timeliness were great, but to be fair, that could've also been due to the fact that i was one of two people there. the food was excellent, and extremely reasonably priced. my advice: go before everyone finds out about this little gem! read more

I've had food several times from here and have always enjoyed it. I thought the flavors were good, the service friendly, and it was very convenient to my home. However, all that changed tonight when I found a roach in the special pad thai. Yes, you read that correctly, A ROACH. Needless to say, that pretty much killed my appetite and any thought of ordering from there again. Here's the kicker - when we called to explain what happened (my wife, not me, I wouldn't have been kind), they wanted to give us a credit FOR A FUTURE ORDER. Now, we weren't too keen on ordering again from there and explained this to them. To us it felt fair that we be refunded what we paid for our order. After much wrangling, they agreed to send a driver over with cash to refund what we paid for the roach special. As I write this, I'm still waiting... Best Thai food in Chicagoland. My wife and I used to go here all the time when we lived in the city. Now we live in the burbs. Anytime we go to the city, if we are anywhere close we make a Yes Thai run for garlic noodles and Pad Thai. No Pad Thai is as good as theirs!!! read more

I tried this place randomly because they were BYOB and looked relatively inexpensive. There are plenty of liquor stores on damen so it wasn't a problem finding wine. Some of the best tofu Pad Thai i've ever had!!! They were really busy but still friendly service. read more

It was only okay. I had their Pad See Ew Beef today for lunch which is what I usually try at Thai restaurants to see which has better...but was somewhat disappointed. Portion was way small for what you pay for it. I paid about 8.70 including tax for just one order of Pad See Ew Beef. What a rip. I got it to go and they were fast though...but then again there were only 2 tables filled out of maybe 10. The place is pretty small but cozy. This review is based on delivery, not eat in which by the way I give a n A plus. So, just pray that you get someone who can speak and understand English well when you get them on the phone for delivery. We have had our order messed up so many times, it's ridiculous. If you can't understand what they are saying, it is safe to assume that they can not understand what you are ordering. It is just a matter of what part of your order they will mess up. I like Yes thai. The restaurant is small, yet cozy and relaxing and the service is great. My favorite thing to order from here is the Beef Salad. I wanted it to be spicy, but not very spicy. The waiter came up to me when he noticed I had my napkin covering my mouth for a while. He asked if it was too spicy and offered to take it back to make it a bit more mild. I wanted to enjoy my salad, so I agreed. I don't know what they did (maybe ran it under some water), but the spiciness was not as intense, which was a good thing. I used to eat at Yes Thai a lot when it first opened. Then I sadly moved away. However, I ate there again recently and was pretty happy afterward. It was Saturday around 1, when my friend and I arrived from the airport; and we were both famished. There were maybe two other tables seated, what with the early time of day, so our service could not have been better. We ordered some pot stickers, which were delightful. Sadly, I have forgotten what we ordered for our main dishes, but I know we both were very pleased with the food. In any case, the restaurant is nicely decorated and bright, and the food will make you glad you came! read more

I am walking distance from this place, so I was hoping for a good experience. The food was fine, pretty standard Thai. But they charged me extra to substitute glass noodles for regular rice noodles in a dish. The reason given was that the dish was "special" and had to made different than usual. I have made this substitution at every other Thai place I've visited in the city, and have never been charged extra for it. I said something to the manager, and he was very rude about it, saying that's their policy, etc. etc. There are too many other Thai places in the city (and within blocks of this place) to waste your time here, all of which have better service and "policies" regarding substitutions and most of which have better food . Really delicious food! We ordered from here for lunch and we quite pleased. The panang curry was spicy and yummy according to one coworker. Another got the tofu satay and LOVED the peanut sauce. A favorite was some sort of beef dish that I don't remember the name of....and I got the tom kha soup. The soup was very different than tom kha at any other Thai places I've been to. I was really disappointed with Yes. I have friends who live down the street and rave about how great it is. I got Garlic Noodles and Crab Ragoons. The flavor of the noodles was just fine, nothing fantastic, and the ragoons were undercooked. My food was also cold when it was delivered, which should not EVER happen, especially since I only live a mile away. It took an hour from ordering to delivery, so it obviously had been sitting around long enough to get cold. Why wasn't it just delivered sooner? Or made closer to the actual delivery? There are so many other great Thai places near my house, so you can bet I will not be ordering from Yes again. read more
