Yesterday, I would have given them 3 stars, but I'll give them 4. We went for a late breakfast on Labor Day. We wanted to support a local restaurant and they had a nice tent set up outside. We had to wait for a table in the shade, but we didn't mind. What should have been a 5-minute wait turned much longer because the service was SOOOO slow. They didn't seem under-staffed, I think they had three servers and a busboy, but the service was unbelievably slow at some points. This is why I almost gave them 3 stars. However, they were so friendly, I gave them the fourth. However, the service was terribly slow. We had to order our drinks four times before we got them. My wife had to ask at least four times for a glass of water. As for the food, which came out surprisingly quickly, it was typical diner fare. However, why my toast came out much later than my eggs makes no sense. A diner should be able to time that. All in all, a pleasant breakfast, but make sure you are not in a rush! read more

I don't know what reason kept me away from here for so many years, but now I know why. We came here around midnight after a night of drinking. I only had one drink so perhaps I was more in-tune to my surroundings. We got seated right next to the host/hostess stand. It's a small diner, that seemingly hasn't changed in decades. Which is fine, but it just felt it wasn't very clean, like a layer of grime covered everything. My sister and I chose to split a plate of chicken tenders. One of the simplest foods out there. When the chicken tenders came out, they were piping hot, so I was hoping for a good late-night snack. Very wrong. The breading has no flavor whatsoever and neither did the chicken, which was also very rubbery in texture. Dipping it in the honey mustard sauce (not very good honey mustard sauce either) made it hard to stomach it. I just wanted the plate to be done with. I'm sure there are other items on their menu which are good, but these chicken tenders were not appeasing in any respect. My next biggest gripe is a can of bug spray that was left out in the open. Since I was seated across from the hosting stand, the can was on the floor next to the partition for the stand. Bugs are going to be attracted to restaurants regardless. But leaving a can of bug spray out in the open like that is probably what made it harder for me to choke down the chicken tenders. I'll have to stick to my chosen local diner from now on. I'm all about supporting local places but... ya gotta give me at least something to support. read more

Came here around 1am with a friend because we were hungry and our usual go-to diner was closed. I would say everything was mediocre. Food was alright, no major complaints. Given that we were there late at night on a weekday, the place was pretty empty. Our waitress was nice but not as attentive as she could've been. It's annoying when people dilly dally, but maybe that's just me. I ordered the French onion soup. I'd like to note that I LIVE for French onion soup. I get it wherever and whenever I can. This one was just okay. Decent flavor, cheese was melted well, not too much or too little salt, but the broth was unusually thick and a weird consistency. I finished like half of it. I also got a side of grilled chicken which was okay as well. I'm bumping this place up to 3 stars because my friend said her Greek salad was the best diner salad she'd ever had (salads are her diner usual). She also got a side order of pickles. The pickles were weird tasting and definitely not worth the extra $3.25. Prices are a bit steep for the quality and portion of the food. read more

My friend and i stopped in here after our hot yoga class and was starving. The diner has a small parking lot but it seems as if patrons come and go pretty quickly. The decor is cute and there is a very cozy and homey feel to the diner. The staff were amazing, they're friendly and most importantly quick and attentive. Our food didn't take long to come out which was another great plus. We both ordered the pancake plus thar came with two eggs (your choice how you want them cooked), two pieces of bacon and sausages and your choice of tea or coffee. My food was good and I didn't have any complaints about any of my meal. It was satisfyingly sufficent and didn't break my pockets. We were able to use our yelp check in 10% off our meal with no problems. I would definitely check this diner out again when I'm back in the area and you should too. read more

Me and my friends had come here around 11:30 PM on a Thursday night hoping for an amazing 1980 like Diner experience, on top of this me and my friends were very under the influence of alcohol. We had hoped for amazing food from this amazing waitress, Little did we know. A cheese quesadilla was a key food bought tortilla with string cheese very poorly slapped on to it on the side was the only decent meal. Frozen french fries in which were alright. My friend ordered a chicken sandwich in which he had gotten 3 massive sized chicken breasts with 2 slices of oily white bread. My other friend had very clearly asked for a chicken sandwhich and he got 2 slices of bread with(on poured on top) a mix of melted cheese vegetables and tiny popcorn sized chicken which if i didn't include weren't even on top of each other like a normal sandwhich. Came here on a whim, we happened to be hungry & in the area so we drove down Jericho until we found somewhere with outdoor seating. Our worst mistake was not reading the reviews before entering. I am giving 3 stars because during the time of covid I give the benefit of the doubt that we all are doing the best we can, with the circumstances. They are social distancing both inside and out and there was sanitizer available. The space was clean to a degree but our water glasses could have had less floating around in them. We had to opt for a Snapple instead since It was in a bottle. The food was okay, just okay. We ordered the spinach pie & the chicken sandwich. For a non Greek specialty diner the spinach pie was edible It was not the best but not bad. Flavorful and a flaky crust, I was not disappointed but would not return. The chicken sandwich was dry, the chicken was tough and It we ordered sans lettuce & tomato so It was just 1 dried piece of chicken on a bun with two onion rings. Fries were fries, can't really go wrong there. The theme and decor is cute, clearly it's outdated but It goes with the theme and there are a lot of art pieces / decor to look at while dining in. Service was mediocre at best, especially after finishing the meal. We waited 15+ mins, for anyone to acknowledge us after finishing just to get the check. Everyone seemed to concerned with other things than with checking in on us or seeing if we enjoyed ourselves. The diner has the old school diner feel from the outside like the servers should be on roller skates. Inside is your typical diner setup. The place is very clean and the service was very accommodating. I ordered the fish and chips hoping it would be good and it exceeded my expectations. It was excellent! And to top it off the tartar sauce was great too! Unfortunately the Bestie asked for a medium well burger and got a well done one. She said it was still juicy but not what she wanted. I always think to myself I could've made this at home not only better but cheaper. But the last straw was when I dined in for a late night burger and fries (because i thought burgers are one of the few things you can mess up) I ordered the bison burger it looked like a hokey puck and literally tasted like a frozen burn faux meat burger and instantly reminded me of the time I got a burger from a snack machine when visiting a prison. I made both of my friends take bites and one friend said: "I'd rather gargle diarrhea than eat that burger" The only things that were finished was the milkshake which for the record had a very soupy consistency. My friend did not finish the onion rings as they were barely done practically soggy. I guess when you're open 24/7 and in an area with mediocre food options you can get away with selling this. The menu stated these came with either fries or potato salad, and coleslaw and pickle. After placing the order, the waitress returned to say the fries were not included. I had to ask for the coleslaw and pickle. I was charged $36.90 for two sandwiches, and had to pay extra for the side of fries. This has made me very angry, and while the waitress who served us is the owner, I still left a decent tip. Well #1, it's a Diner, that is trying to do a throw back ambiance to the 50's I think. Decor is a little all over the place. My order was just the standard 2 eggs medium with crispy bacon on white toast, basically an egg sandwich. It was served open faced, really strange looking. It's as if they were trying to make this egg sandwich look some how more appetizing. I asked the waitress if this is how the egg sandwiches were always served and she said yes. Humm....well ok. Far be it from me to call BS on the display, but really it's just an egg and bacon sandwich. Eggs were cooked correctly and the bacon was crispy, so score on the sandwich, it was good, but my mind was thinking it's open faced..what's with the fancy. Next order was were they lost the stars. We asked if we could substitute the home fries for just some lettuce and tomato. The answer was yes for an additional $1.50. Well ok, but this is where it gets sketchy. The lettuce came on the plate all chopped up and the tomato was on top. After the meal and the check I inquired further about this substitution issue. Apparently this was considered a side salad and not just lettuce and tomato. I said to the manager.....so if you just substitute you call it a salad, the response was yes. I said, well this is not the type of lettuce you put on a burger and he said no, we put better lettuce on the burger. Did this guy just say he served me not so good chopped lettuce in a backwards kind of way. Well yes he did. I said so.....really there was an up charge for a quasi salad and you just left the home fries off the plate....the answer was yes. The manager then offered to get the home fries for us. So basically there's a little bamboozalling going on here. To top it off, they even served the other English muffin egg sandwich open faced. Came here late night with my boyfriend. The cole slaw was actually good, there wasn't a lot of mayo like other diners have it. I ordered the chicken salad melt on a roll hoping it was good. I was a bit weirded out when it included cheese but I gave it a try. It was not good at all. Yuck! Definitely not ordering it again. The fries were okay, I wish they were a bit more crunchy. My boyfriend ordered a pastrami melt. He liked it, he ate it in within 5 minutes so it must've been good. The mozzarella sticks tasted like they were frozen and then cooked., it wasn't fresh. Tiny diner in N.H.P. I popped in here for breakfast as I was A) early for work and B) hadn't been here in a while. The place is very small and located on a busy corner. The interior is standard issue diner decor. Service is a bit pokey and that was kind of not good in that there were only 3 people there when I walked in. There are some specials on a board when you walk in, but the menu does not list them and the waitress does volunteer that they are available - so you either have to get up and walk over and read them yourself or pop a capillary in your eye while straining to read it from across the restaurant. The food was fine, coffee was hot and pretty good- but again, slow on the refills as the waitress had some chatting to do. This diner is a hit or miss. I've been coming to Yesterday's pretty often, usually ordering breakfast items, burgers, and paninis. The food is average at best, nothing special. The only plus side is that it's open 24/7, pretty much the only place in the area to grab a bite after midnight. The waitresses are also nice. just be aware: -I've had my order mixed up twice. Once, the brought a completely different sandwich. Second time they brought us the wrong side. However, they were quick to try to correct the order. -I was served moldy bread. Yes, MOLDY bread. Almost missed it because they've been toasted. Once again, when brought to attention, they were quick to bring us new slices of toast, but also have us some BS story. They claim that their bread is delivered fresh every day and "have no idea how the bread could become moldy". Please, even in the most humid storage, bread will not mold within a day. read more

One sentence summary: Rotten food, rude service, and overpriced. I've dined here several times and never once has everything been 100% correct. Chopped steak stunk so bad I smelled it's rottenness from the restroom. When I sat back down at my table and realized that smell was the chopped steak I ordered I couldn't believe they'd actually serve something so obviously foul. The stench made me gag. I sent it back, which I hardly ever do at a restaurant and the server had a really bad attitude about it. The server had such a poor attitude about it that I felt nervous to order something else. Their "fresh" tomatoes are always rotten and taste a little like metal, making salads awful. 100% of the time their water tastes absolutely disgusting! This is NOT an exaggeration. Adjust any dish to include something extra, for instance adding a second scoop of tuna, expect a made up price by your server. I've not been charged the same price for the same item even once. I got the Rock'nRoll Chicken Sandwich and it was loaded with yummy cheese and peppers, very good. Liked the potato salad on the side, the Cole slaw was ok, nice sour pickle. I'm glad we went. The onion rings seem a little like the microwave type, but tasted ok.my wife said her eggs were fine, but she was a little grossed out upon her last bite when she noticed two very short hairs mixed in with some of the yolk on her plate, but we can't be sure it wasn't from her own eyelashes or something like that. Just trying to be fair. Restaurants get blamed for other people's stuff all the time. The service was good enough, and I happened to really like our server. I ordered two pastas dishes after a long day out on the beach. One was for myself and one was for my friend. Unfortunately ,there was almost no sauce in the pasta. I would not write a bad review for a restaurant, but the food left a smell of sewage. There was something that was not right about the pasta. The worse part is that it came out to $48 for take out of 2 soups and pasta??
