I love a good salad place! Is it just me, or do salads in particular always taste better when someone else makes them for you? This was my first time at Sweetgreens. The place was empty when I went in, for which I was grateful. I wanted time to decide the right fixings for my salad creation. The person working this particular day wasn't overly friendly and I almost felt rushed to decide what I wanted. Regardless, the salad was phenomenal and reasonably priced (approx. $15 for a create your own with grains, greens, tofu and other veggies). Plenty big too, just ask my husband who devoured half my lunch (insert eye roll here - I didn't want to share this time, but alas). I wish there was one a bit closer to my neck of the woods but I would absolutely return when in the area. You get what you pay for. Sweetgreen is probably the most expensive salad place I've ever eaten at, however, it's totally worth it. Everything is super fresh from what I've experienced thus far. I'm hoping they never falter in freshness. The service is pretty good. Sometimes it takes a hot minute or five before someone can serve you. They go in order of orders placed, so if ten online orders came in before you got to the start of the queue in store, it's more than likely you'll have to wait. At this location, specifically, the indoor seating is really firm and hurts after a few short minutes. It would be appreciated and awesome if they could add some pillows and/or cushioned seating. There's also a timer on the lights that goes off at 6:59pm. Don't worry! It's probably not a town wide power outage! I asked about it and it comes with the space and cannot be changed. I wonder if it syncs with Daylight Savings Time. The bathroom is basic and sometimes doesn't have toilet paper. Take a few napkins with you just in case. My favorite salad is the Crispy Rice Bowl. The dressing is phenomenal. Their teas are good too, but beware of the gritty pieces at the bottom! It kind of makes for a yucky ending. They have some chips and sweet treats (brownies, rice krispies, etc) but I have yet to try those. Their new pesto and steak salad is pretty good too. My boo had that one time and I got a taste. There is outdoor seating for those who don't mind the hot/cool weather. Large umbrella canopies for shade. Little birds like to hang out here too. Don't worry, they're never a nuisance. Sometimes there are flies but they don't seem to linger too much. The most annoying part is if you have long hair or long hair that doesn't reach your ponytail and if it's windy. Everything here is always fresh, great portion sizes, fast, and affordable for a full meal filled with everything you could want. There's a ton of variety, and I easily go there 2-5 times a week getting something new each time. The team is always super friendly and accommodating, and I've never had any issues with service. Occasionally there might be a mistake, which is completely understandable at a fast and busy place like this, but they always fix it quickly and with a smile. I usually order for pickup through the app, and either take it to go or eat in at the tables and chairs. It's bright, clean, modern, and even show where the ingredients come from on a board up front. I definitely recommend using the app, since there is a reward system with new challenges to try new things and get $5-7 off your meals. I love Sweet Green. So happy to now have them in my local area. They're located right in the heart of Garden City across the street from the Starbucks. You can order online on their app, or walk right on in and order. The salads I have ordered so far have been fresh and delicious. My only upset is that with my last order the salad dressing was missing. Luckily, I was going home so I had dressing there. But, if I had been doing a grab and go for work I would have been left with some kale and chicken and no other flavor. I haven't had rice bowls or anything else but salad, however as a daily salad eater, they have become my go-to. Good place to go for a healthier option and the portions are very generous and filing. I built my own salad with blackened chicken which was very flavorful. For the toppings I chose cucumbers, tomatoes, broccoli, pickled onions, green olives. I really liked the jalapeño balsamic lime dressing.y boyfriend got the herb chicken which was also good but wish they cut it into smaller pieces. The food was fresh but a bit pricey. Guacamole greens is the best and my go to! Have had sweet greens (in NYC) for years so was thrilled when I discovered one near me. Have gone to this Garden City location twice now. First time was fine. This last time I went, I ordered four salads and every single one only filled half the container. Not only was the person preparing our food not clear on the ingredients of the salad, I mentioned the scarcity of the bowls contents to her in comparison to another bowl I saw someone else making and was told this is how the portions are supposed to be. Funny because a few weeks ago when I ordered the same exact thing, the portion was just fine. Know prices are all going up but I don't think paying $15 for half of bowl of salad is worth it. Or at least attempt to deceive customers and use smaller containers. We finished our sad portioned salads and had to go somewhere else to order more food for our small children who left hungry. I've never heard of sweetgreen before but when we saw it we had to stop by and try it out. Love the wash station behind the window so you see how clean and fresh everything is. I got a guacamole greens salad with tortilla chips and it was just ok in my opinion but I seem to be in the minority. My hubby got a crispy rice bowl and it was delicious!!! The dressing, though spicy, was amazing! I had a little situation and the manager was amazing and quickly rectified the situation!!! Will we return? Yea, I'll just get what my husband got. Has all the bones of beloved urban-center sweetgreens, but the staff here are just a bit sloppier. I always order a customized salad via the app in advance, with dressing mixed in. I've used sweetgreens in Manhattan and Boston and always had perfect meals, but the garden city location is very iffy in following app directions -- often there will be remnants of ingredients incorrectly added and then removed, and the staff has never followed the direction to mix in the dressing. It's a comparatively new location so I hope these issues gets ironed out with more time, but just note that the star removed is for staff training. read more

The one in Midtown is phenomenal: great customer service, on point, the right proportions, fresh and always delicious! More than 100% satisfied. But man, I was hella disappointed with this SweetGreen: disorganized, wrong proportions, missing ingredients, soggy, sloppy, incredibly slow with orders, poor customer service, and dissatisfying. We created a big order and we received no bread and no utensils when we came to pick up. When we asked for extra sauce on the app we did NOT get extra sauce. We still only received 1 container.
