This is my go-to place for Indian food in Davis. As a former Bay Area resident, I find Indian food in Davis lacking, but Yeti itches that scratch. I can't really comment on the service or ambiance since I typically order to go. From my limited interaction, the staff is friendly enough and restaurant looks clean enough. My typical order includes samosas, samosa chat, any biriyani, naan, paneer saag, and a meat curry (typically lamb or goat). The food is always good and I find it to be of great value. I will say that I've ordered the chicken curries before and found it to be very dry, hence I stick to other meats. The curries themselves are quite flavorful and thick, perfect for naan and pouring over rice. I haven't had any Nepalese food yet, but I've heard great things about it.

5 stars as always. This place has friendly service, great seating options, and superb flavors. I would bathe in their tikka sauce! Their naan bread basket is a must. I always order a side of tikka sauce to take home and use for my own veggie tikka. Absolutely amazing food and vegetarian options.

I went on a Saturday afternoon to eat with a friend. The service was attentive. There was only one other group dining when we were there and so the food came out fairly quickly. We both ordered thali plates for only $5 extra compared to the regular entree. They come with various vegetable side dishes, the entree, naan, and rice which was tons of food for just an extra $5! We ordered the Nepali samosas which had vegetables and potatoes in it for the appetizer. I ordered the tomato chickpea dish Saag Chana for my main entree which is spinach and garbanzo beans cooked with spices, tomatoes, and onion gravy. It was delicious! Even though I got the vegetarian entree I was still full from all the food the thali plate comes with. The plate comes with dessert also which I'm not sure what the name of the dessert is. I think it might be Indian rice pudding. It's a really great deal for about $20! I couldn't finish all my food and took some leftovers home. Overall, would highly recommend this place! Delicious food for a great deal!

Whenever I roadtrip near the Davis area, Yeti is one of my favorite places for a filling dinner. I have been coming here for years, and I have enjoyed their rice dishes, curries, and momos. This time, I went with the lamb vindaloo and shared some veggie momos with the table. I recommend getting entrees "thali style" which will add rice, naan, curry, dall, and a sweet rice dessert. At only $5 extra, this is an excellent deal and close to what some big city restaurants charge for more than once piece of naan... Service has consistently been welcoming over the years and they keep the restaurant warm and cozy in the winter, but not too hot to enjoy the warm curry.

When around the UC Davis area and we feel like Indian Food, Yeti is the spot! The place is a tad small, but they do have outdoor seating as well. The service is as expected. We came on a busy day, and there was only one person taking orders, so it did take some time to take our orders and take payment. But not a reason to not come here haha. Take note, the entrees can be Ala Carte, or "Nepalese Thali Style". If you're hungry and want a Nepalese twist, get your entree Nepalese Thali Style. It includes Nepalese pickles, vegetable curry of the day, lentil soup, dessert and naan. We ordered the Saag Paneer and Chicken Tikka Masala. Now, we've had these dishes at other Indian restaurants, but for some reason, these dishes at Yeti are elevated! They taste much better here haha. We also got the Nepalese Samosa, and they are an excellent start to any meal here. When in the area, definitely try this place out!

3.6 Atmosphere was a 2.5/5 Food was decent, good naan Lamb with curry was great. Chicken was a little meh, dry but the dipping sauce were good.

enjoyed my meal here! came by for a weekend dinner and was quickly seated. the restaurant is cute, good vibes and great service. i ordered the chef's special lamb curry and it was delicious! i ordered spicy and it was a perfect amount of spice for me. i got it thali style which i always recommend and i enjoyed all the sides alongside my entree. would definitely recommend coming by and sitting outside!

A bit pricey for the portions. The cheapest dish was about 15 (all come with rice). The curry is about the size of 1.5 bowls you would get at a Chinese restaurant if you ordered individual bowls of rice. It was tasty, but nothing special. Instead I might go to Kathmandu (worse flavors but larger size) or Preethi (worse ambiance for a friendly gathering but better flavors and more dish options) instead. Kind, non-intrusive servers though.

YETI!!! I absolutely LOVE this restaurant! DELICIOUS Nepalese food!!! I find myself constantly craving eating at this place!! Located in downtown Davis, Yeti is walking distance to multiple other bars, restaurants, and stores. They do dine-in and takeout, but the ambiance and environment are too good not to do dine-in (in my view). We typically get the Couples Special (there's a meat and vegetarian option). This comes with a little bit of everything 'Nepalese/ North Indian.' Tons of variety. There are NEVER any leftovers. Everything is always devoured! Prices are reasonable, service is excellent... A+++++. Just go!

My friend and I came here on a Thursday afternoon; while there were many tables around us, the place was not too packed. My friend and I both ordered lunch specials. I ordered lamb tikka masala curry & my friend ordered chicken tikka masala curry. Our lunch specials came with basmati rice, dal, a samosa, naan bread, vegetable curry, and a salad. For its price point, the food was plentiful. The tikka masalas both had a good amount of sweetness, and the samosa was one of my favorites. The naan bread was nicely sliced, and there was a good ratio of curry to basmati rice and vice versa. I'm looking forward to visiting this place the next time I come to Davis! I'm hoping to try a Mango Lassi next time; we decided we would order one if the food didn't seem filling, but we were more than full and had enough for leftovers.

Taking a tour at UCD and this restaurant hit the spot! Such a comforting dish on a rainy day. The star of the show was the middle dish which was the curry of the day. It had chickpeas in it and I so wish I asked the restaurant what type of curry it was. If anyone knows please let me know!!

I have tried their chicken and lamb momos and their butter chicken. Their butter chicken was good and the spices in the momo were on point. However, in my opinion, the momo's dough/ wrapper should be a little thinner than what they have. With every bite, I was getting an equal ratio of the dough and the filling and that is not ideal. Also, if they could use oil sparingly in the momo filling, that would make the momos more enjoyable without one feeling queasy. If they would just improve on those two aspects, I feel like the momos they serve would be the best around here. read more

This is, simply put, my favorite restaurant in Davis. Period. The food is delicious (I usually get the chicken tikka masala) and the staff are all super polite and friendly. My girlfriend and I eat here so often that the owner recognizes us and will chat with us when we visit. I now live in Sacramento but still drive out to Davis because none of the curry in Sac has been as good. I've only left one other review in my entire life but I just had to give this place the recognition it deserves. read more

I shared the veggie sampler combo appetizer and had chicken tikka marsala. The veggie plate was a bit greasy, and lacked veggies, as in green veggies/carrots. Too starchy for me. The tikka was okay, but the sweetest I've ever had. A bit off putting. Portions large, service good. I may give it another try and aim for Nepalese food. read more

Love this place! The veggie momos were out of this world! They also have the BEST veggie pekora ever ever tasted, which is one of my most favorite foods so that's saying a lot! They have a ton of vegetarian options. Naan was average but no one goes just for the naan. Service is amazing, they never leave you waiting for a drink refill. Prices were reasonable for the amount and quality of food. I'll be back for sure! read more

I don't eat enough Indian food to know when it's really, really good. I've had it a few times. There was a lot of food and it was filing, but nothing outstanding. The tandoori chicken was bland to me and the Tikka masala was cream/yogurt based which I wasn't expecting with about 5 bites of chicken. Finally tried paneer and think it tastes like a salty tofu. The service was stale with no personality. read more

The chicken tikka masala is fantastic and the tandoori chicken is well worth the wait. We eat here weekly because we love it so much. It's a friendly environment and it smells delicious. They have the best Indian-style food in town, in my opinion, and I think I've tried every place. The mattar paneer, eggplant potato masala, and veggie tikka are all fantastic. The naan is made perfectly, too. Prices and portions are definitely reasonable. read more

We sat outside and my first impression was that this place was not a restaurant. The tables and chairs looked like they were picked from a garbage site.. We were served water and there were stains of lipstick on my glass.. Enough said! We just left. read more

Delicious Indian food in convenient Davis location! Ordered Chicken Tikka Masala from the lunch specials and it was incredible!! Just the right amount of spice and cream. My mouth is watering while I write this-- haha! Also the lunch specials come with a TON of food (entree, rice, naan, lentil, veg dish, and a piece of tandoori chicken) for a great price ($7.99 I think). Service is friendly and fast. My boyfriend and I are visiting Davis and stopped here for lunch. I was really impressed with their customer service. They answered all my questions happily about what foods were gluten free or not. They also asked what level of spicy we wanted our food to be. We both got the lunch special which was a great deal! It comes with rice, 5 sides and naan. I didn't have the naan so I got extra rice. The servings were normal in my opinion. I got to try some new foods since it came with so many sides and I am stuffed! Really delicious too read more

This is the "cleanest" restaurant in Davis--noticeably so! Tables not greasy, no bits of leftover food; sparkling tile floor, shiny silverware (no stuck on food--yukko) and the staff is superlative in all areas--friendly upon entering the restaurant even to late-comers --which many Davis establishments are not! Warm, polite, you feel very welcome. Wine list better than most here in town--good affordable variety. Beautiful interior colors and shading. The wall behind the kitchen actually glows softly, reflecting the soft hanging lamps across the room. Makes for a tranquil calming experience. Food reflects variety - seemingly something for everyone. Served in attentive very attractive presentation; wonderful use of color. Almost feel like you're a guest in someone's home; it's just such a warm welcoming atmosphere. Flavors are fresh and spiced perfectly as ordered. Apparently kitchen attentive to this and actually listens to customer preferences. Again, quite a pleasant change from many Davis restaurants who could care less about customer preference or request. I think the most refreshing part of the overall experience which made it stand out (I EAT OUT A LOT AND OFTEN HEAD FOR SACRAMENTO SIMPLY TO ESCAPE) was that they clearly are appreciative of you as a customer; they recognize you are paying for BOTH service AND food and make a genuine successful effort to provide both. Prawns were fresh, cleaned, pink and flavorable. No fish smell like so many here; no mush or discoloration or "BLACK" running down middle. This place serves it right-- reflective of attention to detail, cleanliness and proper preparation/plating of dish served. Amazing! I am actually glad I found this place in the bubble and feel appreciated for doing so! Double WOW!!! read more

Very nice experience, friendly service. Food I would say 3.5/5. I had the chicken korma lunch special and enjoyed the flavor. Not the best tandoori chicken, but not bad. This place is awesome!! EVERYTHING was great! First of all, the food was amazing (one of the best in Davis). It came really quick. Such good quality food. The server also gave us a bigger basket of naan than we asked for and another free appetizer. Service was great. Super helpful, friendly, attentive and quick. The server stayed to talk to us once we were done, which doesn't happen often!! Everyone working there was really nice and played with our little pup, which we brought out to the patio to eat with us. If you go on Thursday nights, there are fire dancers practicing! read more

This was a fantastic find in Davis. A group of 15 family members were gathered for a memorial service at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery April 18 and I searched Yelp earlier in the day for a place that sounded good and different ... to have a meal afterward. We really liked it. The staff was able to seat all of us at a long table and we just ordered like mad -- something for everyone, And keep the excellent nan coming! We did a ton of plate sharing and "taste this! Try that" fun. It was a good, relaxed setting where we never felt hurried, and there was a pretty plaza out front where we also spent some time -- hard to say good bye on an emotional day -- perfect spot. I chose it based on Yelp reviews and I am happy to have added another one. Good job. If I am in Davis again, I would go back. Easy parking, too. read more

Hands down, Yeti has the best tikka masala I have ever tasted! Nothing beats their creamy recipe and rich flavor. Whether I decide to get chicken or vegetable, the portions always fill me up for a fair price. I recently even found out you can order online and they will have it ready for you if you want take out! Nothing is more convenient than being able to drop by on my way home on long days and really enjoy the meal I order. The quality is exceptional every single time without fail. One of the other things I really like is that they have outdoor seating for days I want to go out and don't want to leave my four-legged friend at home! read more

Fresh and flavorful. I took my mom to Lunch and we found Yeti by chance. I love Indian food so we decided to give them a try. I was not expecting five star food as they've only been open a month. Was I surprised. The vegetarian dishes were full of flavor and all the veggies were super fresh and crisp. My mom had chicken and said it was the most tender chicken she's ever had. read more

Excellent experience! Took my mom their for her birthday tonight and everyone in my family left satisfied. We had plenty of food to go around, many flavors, excellent service, and a cozy but inviting atmosphere. We were even running late to a movie and they cheerfully put a rush on our order and helped us get on our way. We all agreed to make this our regular spot from now on! read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants ever. The food is surprisingly good every time, even though I have had it many times and I know what to expect. I have had many items on their menu and they are all very good. I recommend getting the Thali style for a good diversity of tastes. Their lunches are a good value. Decent is about as far as I'd go describing the meal taste and quality. Presentation was better than the meal itself. Ordered the chicken saag for lunch, which was delivered promptly and with the standard lunch accompaniments. The chicken was a bit rubbery, but everything else was, again, of average quality and flavor. read more

This restaurant is one of my favorite in Davis! My boyfriend and I come here once a month because we love it so much. The food is delicious! I try to order something different every time I go and I'm never let down. Sometimes a waiter will struggle slightly with the language barrier, but they're always nice and WHO CARES because the food is too good! Also there's outdoor seating and a violinist that shows up and plays every once and a while. You should definitely give Yeti and shot! read more

Momos, momos, momos - are absolutely fantastic, ask for the spicy sauce if you can handle the spice. Next time I go there I am going to make a meal out of momos. OK now that I have my momo madness out of the system lets move the other things we ordered. I got the veggie quick roll - it was really tasty. Basically a burrito like wrap made with naan, garbanzo beans, lettuce and some chutneys - it was delicious. The serving size of the quick plate which comes with naan + rice + 2 dishes + pickle is quite large - its a full meal in itself. We also got eggplant with potatoes thali it tasted very good. Of course thalis are huge too with bunch of different curries, sweet etc. I would order the entrees a la carte next time. The nepali pickle is I guess an acquired taste didnt work for me. The only thing that was a miss was salt lassi but everything else was great. read more

For those who haven't been in here before, the best way I can describe this restaurant is dark. Paint is dark, booth are dark. Everything is kind of moody and dark. Definitely not my kind of aesthetic, but does that really matter for this restaurant? No. The service is always fine. Staff is always friendly enough and fast. When we got the food, we were pleasantly surprised, like I said before I have only eaten at the buffet here and that was over a decade ago. While we were eating, we noted that we actually enjoyed the flavors here more than we enjoy the flavors at yeti restaurant. Something about the blend of spices just fits our palette more than the other restaurant. We found that there was an adequate amount of food, they didn't skimp out on meats, and we were overall really happy with our meal. Is it the best Indian food I've ever had? No, but it was really good by Davis standards and consider considering that there aren't a ton of Indian places in the Sacramento area. I think this might be our new go to Indian place now! Kathmandu Kitchen is named after a city in Nepal, so it should be no surprise the food here is Indian and Nepali. While I can't speak to the flavor or authenticity of their momos or other Nepali staples, their curries are extremely delicious and distinct from other Indian restaurants and recipes I've tried. I think the first thing you might notice is that a lot of their curries have a touch of sweetness, and pretty much all of their curries have a consistent texture. They do an amazing job making each curry silky and rich and flavorful. Every dish tastes fresh and unique in their own spice profiles and marinades. I highly recommend the paneer tikka masala, chicken makhani (very similar/the same as butter chicken I think), kitchen masala, and basil curry. Also, their actual restaurant experience is very nice too. The staff is very courteous and professional. The restaurant is large, vibey, and clean. There are two reasons I don't give Kathmandu a 5 star. The first that both me and partner almost always need to add salt to the dish. I could see why someone might write off Kathmandu if they went a few times and wrote it off because they never tried adding salt to their dish. The second reason is that the spice level isn't as consistent as I'd like. Sometimes, asking for medium spice level results in almost no heat, sometimes it borders on too much. Sometimes getting hot spice level is hot but enjoyable, sometimes it's very hot even for me. Mild is consistent but Id guess that's because they simply don't add extra hot chili powder or something like that. Overall, I highly recommend this spot if you love Indian food and want to try some Nepali spins and flavors.

I've shown up during your normal business hours and every time, there's a big closed sign posted on your door. If you do go, don't follow my lead. Definitely call first. As for me and my vegetarian cravings - I'll need to find another. I drove another 10 minutes and found another Indian restaurant (Punjabi Dhaba) Dixon right off the freeway. Well know you do... Ferrari Fisheries has a stand that sells black cod, ling cod, red snapper which all are year round catches; and seasonal Dungeness crab and salmon. When they have a fresh caught batch; they text their customers what is available catch, and time & date. To get their text notifications; you can sign up on their website. I was fortunate enough to get to their stand early enough on a notification day to buy a couple of Dungeness crabs. The crabs were live, priced at $11/pound. Awesome price! When you get to the stand, there are two lines. The first line you want to get into is the one nearest the big containers where the fish on ice or crabs are kept. If you want your fish filleted, let them know. It is a complimentary service. Then you head into the other line to pay. They take cash and card, I'm not sure about other payment types. Keep in mind, the inventory sells quickly especially the seasonal items. Folks queue up earlier than the opening time stated in the texts. The start time was 10am; I got there at 10:20 am. They sold out as I was leaving the stand. Anthony (owner and fishing captain), his wife, and team are terrific. They all were helpful and had the best attitudes. Welcoming. They had 6 or 7 tables from what I remember with high chair and regular chair options. You can get a cup of water for free. Utensils are on the tables. Here's what we ordered: * Poke bowl with 2 protein choices $14.25 - Note, you can opt to do a small bowl option with 1 choice of protein. You can add toppings for $1 each or pay for their topping combos. We found this poke bowl to not be the best value since no toppings were included in the price of the bowel. My husband was not a huge fan of the fish and said it did not taste like the poke he used to eat growing up in Hawaii. He said it was lacking Hawaiian salt. * Soft shell crab sushi wrap $16.50 - Huge sushi wrap split in two! This was delicious and had a good amount of soft shell crab in it. It tasted like a handheld sushi roll with soft shell crab. I loved it. I ate half in the restaurant and then reheated the other half at home the next day. I enjoyed this a lot and would order this again! I'm giving 4 stars since I don't think the poke bowl is the best value compared to other poke bowl places I've visited, but I loved the sushi wrap and highly recommend it for a filling meal. The Pho Dac Biet comes in a gigantic portion size for $16.50+tax. All the different proteins that come with it (ribeye, meatball, flank, tripe, etc) tasted delicious in a well-seasoned broth. I particularly enjoyed the tendon for its soft, chewy texture. This branch in Davis offers satisfying pho for incredible value. Their Elk Grove location has now made its way on to my bookmarked list.

The flavor of the food is great when you order the right entrees (some of the deep fried appetizers are just heavy grease and not good) but the more authentic dishes are spiced so well and the momos are really good too! I have eaten at Yeti with differing friends and family members five times. The experience is similar each time. Poor table service but good food. A couple of times I came for lunch and there was a young white woman serving and she was probably the worse server I have ever experienced (and I say that after working myself as a server for over 20 years). She acted as if her job was literally the last place she wanted to be on earth and it really took away from the experience. Having eaten there during dinner time a few times, the service has been slightly better but that's only because the bar was so low with the day time waitress. Still, during dinner, the server (who seems like he is actually either the manager or the owner) would stand at our table and answer the telephone and take a to-go order while literally standing at our table...another night he was midway taking our dinner order and answered the phone (granted, he did put the caller on hold and then returned to finish taking our dinner & drink orders but it was tacky). Each time I have gone to Yeti, we order appetizers plus naan, multiple dishes to share, and multiple drinks (mango lassi, glasses of wine, beer, etc). So our bill is always quite high. In that regard, I would say that the food is good here but not worth the poor service, especially considering how much we spend every time we go. Davis is not known for having professional table service and Yeti is definitely contributing to the bad reputation that Davis restaurant culture has earned itself. read more

Just ate here tonight with my girlfriend for the second time and wow was the experience great. First things first. It's Christmas eve so it's really slow downtown and there is almost no place open, meaning we are the only one's in here, so I don't know if it affected our service but I'll give you an overview of my experience as best as I can. Ambiance: 4/5. The inside is quaint and cozy, but a little cold because the door was open, which they closed in a few minutes. Music was on point with some Tibetan chanting, very relaxing. Service: 5/5. Even though the food took more than 5 minutes, we were treated on hand and foot and the owner introduced himself to us when he walked in. REALLY nice man who genuinely wanted to make sure we were having a positive experience. Price 4/5. Food is really decently priced for how good it is. We bought three items: HIMALAYAN PEPPER POT SOUP $5.95, and two items off of the quick meal menu the Vegetables wraps $4.99 and the two vegi curry $6.99. All for under $20...pretty sweet. Food 5/5. Lemme tell you, we had a party of 5 and all of us got a few different plates so we can try everything and BRUH EVERYTHING WAS GOOD! like not just a couple things were good and a couple were okay and a couple were bad, no EVERYTHING had rich flavor and everything tasted distinct from everything else. The Samosas were great, the masalas were great, the rice AMAZING (rice is a staple dish so if rice sucks it's all downhill for your meal from there I feel like everyone knows that but not to fret, this place has got you covered with a great staple dish), the lamb was perfection. Service was good, quick and very nice, our server came to check on us multiple times. It sucked that there were some yt college kids next to us that didn't have manners and let out some ginormous burps in the middle of the restaurant but whatever. This place is so good! It's such a cute place and love the decor. I come from SoCal and lived near Little India so that's my standard of good Indian food. Yeti is right on par. This place has smaller portions than other similar restaurants. There was only one piece of paneer in a paneer vegetable curry dish. The goat meat curry was overly salty. They gave only half a wine glass of mango lassi (though it was only 1.50). Only plus side was the big Naan. Customer service was ok. read more

Not worth $20 for meal. Service was awesome, food was great....however the portion size and just overall what I received for my meal wasn't worth the amount I paid. read more
