    Chicken Tom Kha
    Meena P.

Alright Alright! Let's get into the first review of 2026! And we are starting off strong with Thai Pepper in Woodland CA! I heard SO much about this little Thai gem, hidden in going into Main St downtown Woodland! Went inside, very clean and we were greeted right away! The staff working there were SO NICE AND WELCOMING! That is a BIG BONUS and already won me over because regardless if the food was tasty or not, real customer service will bring me BACK everytime! The ambience is nice and gives you that date night with a hole in the wall vibe where you know the food is GONE BE FIRE! We ordered the Tom Kha with added chicken and this was hands down the BEST Tom kha I have EVER had! Soooo goood and they weren't stingy with protein either! Chicken avocado curry was so flavorful and like the curry slurry was a little thick than runny! Seasoned so good and the generous portion of avocado. Cream cheese rangoons spoke for themselves along with chicken egg rolls! Everything came out soooooo gooood! This will NOT BE MY LAST TIME HERE! I will make the drive from South Sacramento, if I am ever craving Tom Kha or just good ol home cooked Thai food! You must eat here at least ONCE in yo lifetime! Especially when living or visiting Woodland!

Work team lunch! I had the green curry with chicken and my colleagues had grilled chicken with extra veggies, drunken noodles, boat noodle soup, shrimp mango curry, basil fried rice, panang curry, pad thai...thai iced tea, thai iced coffee, and iced hibiscus tea. The brave ones got dishes with Thai Spicy level. I had the green curry with chicken and a Thai iced tea. Both were great. The lady who took our order was taking care of most of the tables for lunch. Street or public lot parking available.

The appetizers were really delicious and came out fast. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious not to mention a nice ambience to grab lunch with a friend. The service was good. We will definitely be going back to try more of their delicious menu!

Love a good local authentic Lao/Thai restaurant. The food was excellent. Service was a little slower than we had liked and had to ask for our waiter multiple times.

Thai Boat Noodle Soup with Chicken Isan-Sausage...half eaten hehe
    Elaine H.

The Isan sausage is delicious! It's a little sour and it comes with aromatics on the side for a little kick. The Thai boat noodle is also pretty good, I wish there were a little more vegetables. But I love mine super spicy and I appreciate the sauces on the side. It was pretty busy on a Thursday afternoon, they get a lot of take out so the servers can get a little behind. Will definitely be back to try more things!

Woodland historic downtown is so charming. Came here for work and stopped in here for lunch. I got seated right away. There are a few tables and I got in right before the lunch hour rush. It's very clean and the wait staff were very friendly. The menu has plenty of vegetarian options. I ordered the pad see ew w/ tofu and Thai iced tea. I'm so happy they had coconut milk as a non-dairy alternative. It's really good w/ Thai iced tea. They also ask you how spicy you like your food. I ordered a medium spicy, and I'm glad it wasn't too spicy. I would definitely recommend if you're in the area and craving Thai food.

    Chicken satay, tofu, pumpkin curry

This place was a nice surprise! I haven't tried Thai food is over 10 years & it was a great experience. I tried their chicken satay - a simple grilled chicken with a side of peanut sauce, the coconut shrimp - perfect, & the tofu (a first for me & I'll definitely have it again). We had great service & they were attentive to us. The inside of the restaurant is little but quaint. I'll be back again soon.

    Fresh spring rolls

I can't believe it's taken us so long to try this place! Unassuming front and homey interior, but don't let that fool you - the food here is bomb. The menu is extensive so there's plenty to choose from, and they give you a spice option from 0-5 so you can customize your heat level. They're not messing around though, be warned: I got a 4 and LOVED it, but my husband couldn't handle more than a bite. We started with fresh shrimp spring rolls that were light and chewy and served alongside a sweet sauce and a peanut sauce, and then for entrees we got the chicken larb and a Thai basil chicken dish that I'm forgetting the name of. Both were bursting with flavor, we ate every last bit. Do note, you will need to order rice separately. There was only one server working when we came, but he was incredibly efficient and very welcoming. We will definitely be back.

Fried chicken wings (6, with sweet chili sauce) in the front and boat noodle soup in the back.

Great food and great service! There are not that many tables inside, but lots of take-out orders during the lunch time. Good for a small party of 1-2 people to dine in. The location is at the end/quiet side of the downtown area and lots of parking space on the 3rd street. They told me the cooks are Thai people so they make authentic food. Will visit again!

Larb beef Thai hot. Super flavorful

I'm so addicted and in love with this place. Their flavors reminds me of Thailand. So flavorful and no wonder why they're always pack and yet the service is fast. Everyone is super friendly there. The dishes that I love there are: 1. Yum Woon Sen (5 spice level) - Best ever 2. Pad Thai (Super spicy) - Best ever 3. Larb Gai & Beef (level 5 spice) - Yummy 4. Yum Pla muk - I had to order seconds - lol 5. Garlic stir fry with pork belly - Wowers 6. Pad Kee Mao & Pad Sa Ew - Must order 7. Avocado & Pumpkin extra spicy curry are off the chain delicious. Thank you for bringing authentic Thai to us! Koon "Lek", the owner is super super sweet

You would need to park in front of the quest lab and continue to walk around the corner toward the street side where you will stumble across their sign outside. Price point for this day and age with a average pho bowl of $14 isn't bad considering they have a decent size and loads of meat! You can even add extra noodles for $1! Broth was flavorful. It's a order and take a seat type of place and they will bring out your order. All of our food came out quickly and they were nice to accommodate any extra bowls or such for the kiddies. It's not a big big place but enough to have our party of 6 just fine without any wait or anything at all which is awesome. Staff was pleasant and nice. Water was available for self serve as well. We would definitely come back when we are around the area.

It's quite efficient and allows you to enjoy your meal at your own pace without pressure! Things are very casual and homey in the restaurant, it was relaxing to come by after work to enjoy a nice, hot bowl of chicken pho during the cold weather. The pho is always quickly served and hot, the broth is delicious and flavorful, and they're always generous with the amount of chicken cuts. Definitely make a stop here if you're around when craving pho!! *__*

Instead, our experience was ruined by the owner, Gordon Langstaff, and his completely inappropriate behavior around a small child. My son, who is three and on the autism spectrum, briefly picked up a loose electrical cord that was lying on the ground under the patio stairs (I have a photo of how exposed it was). Instead of calmly addressing the situation, Gordon walked over in a rude, irritated tone and said, "Can you do something?" I told him I was already handling it and redirecting my son, but as he walked away he started cursing under his breath, using foul language that was clearly audible right next to my child. There is no excuse for swearing like that in front of a three‑year‑old, especially when the unsafe cord was left out in the open by the restaurant in the first place. Whether or not my son is autistic, families should never be subjected to hostility and foul language from the owner of a restaurant. If you offer outdoor seating and leave cords and other hazards accessible, you should expect children to be curious and respond with basic courtesy, not anger. The food itself was mediocre, and after that interaction it honestly didn't matter. This was supposed to be a special birthday outing, and his attitude and language completely ruined it.

Quick service, you order at the counter and they bring out your food to the table in minutes. There are bright red chairs with metal tables so very casual vibe. The person taking our order wasnt exactly the friendliest which was a bummer. We both got the Pho Hanoi (#14, comes with wok fried ribeye and garlic) with the fresh noodles upgrade which was a $1.50 surcharge but so worth it. Came out to about $44 total. The broth was good, didnt taste diluted, and different than the pork broths I've been used to from other pho restaurants. The meat was fully cooked, flavorful, and both of ours had a decent amount of meat. The fresh noodles were great and light, it didnt feel like I was forcing myself to eat noodles I didnt like.
