I am so disappointed with myself! Drove by Yiassoo all these years and finally stepped foot inside today! The food here is AMAZING! The lamb souvlaki consisted of huge chunks of lamb seasoned and cooked to perfection. The pita bread tasted homemade and topped with the white and red sauce was just out of this world! Chocolate baklava was nice and crunchy, not too sweet. In addition, I ordered a side of falafel balls and the portion was generous and absolutely delicious. I just wish they had banana milk shake like my favorite spot Falafels Drive Inn on Stevens Creek. Overall, the food left me happy and satisfied so I'll definitely be back for sure. read more

Just a quick review to share how perfect our catering experience with Yiassoo was for our daughters baby shower in late April. The owner's son basically handled our entire experience, from inquiring about food and pricing right down to the delivery. He is so pleasant to work with; very knowledgeable, professional, friendly, flexible and and prompt. He made sure we received exactly what we were looking for in our menu, and planned the timing of our delivery right down to a science to ensure hot, freshly prepared food for our guests. The food was delicious, and our quests raved about this! The price we paid was VERY reasonable to cater for 50 people, and the food was abundant! I do mean a lot! Order the combination platter for a bit of each: beef, pork, lamb and chicken. Served with rice pilaf, pita, tzatziki and a Greek salad. If you have saved some room, order the loukamades for dessert: Greek donutholes served in a honey syrup with cinnamon. They are so light, airy and devine. Serving sizes are plentiful. I'm a newly born Mediterranean / Greek Food Fanatic now because of Yiassoo. I loved Greek food before, but after trying Yiassoo, I'm a full fledged fanatic. I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Plate with fries and the entire meal was perfection. Tender, flavorful chicken, fresh vegetables (Greek Salad), delicious Feta, crispy fries, and creamy tzatziki. Whoever said the Super Gyros are big enough for two people must have been my size, because my super hero was able to down one Super Gyro in 60 seconds. Plus a third of my regular sized gyro. I'm not kidding. But, yes, for most people, the Super Gyro is huge. I personally found my regular gyro to be more than I could handle. The pita was overflowing with meat, even with it being thinly sliced. I got the combo meal, which comes with fries. They were nice thick and crispy fries - dip them in the tzatziki sauce, or even the Greek hot sauce. I smothered my gyro in that hot sauce, it was so yummy. We also got one of the rolled baklavas with chocolate - I'd never had baklava like that before, and I really enjoyed it. Oh, and did I mention, the prices are really cheap? $6.99 for a value meal which includes a regular gyro, fries and a fountain soda; $7.50 for the Super Gyro; $1.60 for a rolled chocolate baklava. Isn't it Gyronic? Don't ya think? This review is based on one visit. I ordered the Supreme/Super Gyro. It was gyronormous -- tons of beef with diced tomatos, onions, and sour cream in a pita bread. Well, somewhat in. It was stuffed to the max resembling more of an open-faced sandwich. Pretty damn good, nonetheless. Add in a drink and a bag of fresh french fries and you have one hell of a meal for $10. Clean store, friendly employees, and good food. Great little lunch spot. Falafel Drive-In is still the King of (falafel) Balls. But Yiassoo's Super Gyro Salad is legit - and the perfect size to split with your lunch buddy. Freakin' delicious with lots of shaved meat, red onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, a light vinaigrette-type dressing, and feta. Add some Greek hot sauce and you're set. Yay I thought, they deliver! So here I go, adding food to my cart and getting all excited when I then read "minimum order must be $40". Ok...let's add some calamari and some baklava! Bam, $40 achieved add a tip and my (very elaborate due to this minimum amount) dinner for two is now over $50. Here we go let's press the order button! Yeessssss....NO! Because all of a sudden I am supposed to pay $72. Eh...why? Well let me tell you. There is a minimum tip (so don't add one if you want to get your food delivered or you will be tipping twice) and mine was $9 then there is a delivery charge (fine) and a convenience charge (wtf?). This is just for the gyro! I've only gotten the regular gyro with lamb and beef and it's so delicious!!! Sometimes I feel like it fills me up but sometimes I feel like it doesn't. I like this place. My coworker and I go to this place at least twice a month for lunch whenever we are in the area (after our home visit). The food and service is excellent. Yiasoo... I use to give u a 5 star review....until the other day... I was there on my short lunch scarfing down a gyros and salad...on my last bite I noticed the cook go outside to dump the trash...i had the perfect view from the back door to the front of the restaurant...well....he came back in and put the bin back...then got back to work without washing his hands...(im going to school to be a health inspector, so this does NOT fly with me).... I was so disgusted that I felt the food rising back up into my throat. I thought to myself..."does this guy wash his hands after taking a dump? since he dumps the trash and doesnt find it necessary then?" Sooo of course I talked to the owner who knows my face....I told him that I wont be coming back due to what I witnessed... as I was walking out I saw the owner call the cook into the back.. hopefully to fire him.. but doubtful.... I reached out to Yiassoo via their website to try to rectify an order that took over 2 HOURS to deliver, and was ice cold once I received it on Dec 18th, but they didn't even bother to respond. I don't like to leave negative reviews simply for the sake of harming a business, but they deserve zero stars. I definitely won't eat here again, nor would I recommend them to anyone. This place has fairly fast service and excellent gyros. The onion rings aren't bad either. The fries are only so so. It's a little too dry for my taste. The gyro costs $4.99 and is big. They serve all types of Greek food here from chicken to moussaka. The place is small but clean. There is plenty of parking in the back. The only thing I've tried here that I don't like is the falafel. It's very dry and tasteless. Sorry to say this, but NO Greek place can make falafel well. I've yet to find a Greek place that does. Not even that Falafel Drive-In so many people like can satisfy me. I guess it's because I've had the best falafel in the world in Israel so all falafel is merely just edible to me in the states. The falafel in the mall there is beyond good. I could eat it all the time and not get sick of it, it's that good! The second best falfel is one made from a store bought mix. I tried Yiassoo today and I will not be back. I ordered a salad with chicken, cucumber, and feta cheese with Greek dressing on the side. With an order of pita. Pretty standard, right? I had to repeat myself four times, the girl taking my order sounded irritated that she could not get it right. I went to pick up the salad, got into my car, checked and there was no tzatziki sauce with the pita. My husband went back in to get it for me (I am pregnant and was really craving salad and pita) and the girl insisted it was in the bag. It was not, and who nickel and dimes over 15 cents worth of sauce? Here is the best part. We got home, I made a plate, and there was no lettuce in this salad. Literally, a salad with no lettuce. It was nothing but cucumber, five tiny pieces of chicken, and feta cheese. I called and got not so much as an apology, the man who answered just said repeatedly, "That was how it was written down". I am not directly acquainted with this establishment because of my bf, but because of a project involving not only him but his family and friends as well. Last Sunday a work session was held in which Chris was not able to attend but I contributed to, and in breaking for lunch, the group decided on Yiassoo. A goodly number of plates, and even some items for those a little less Mediterranean or Greek inclined, such as burgers. Not only that, but each plate seemed to include a large amount of food--I had the calamari plate, which came with salad and fries. I added a bottled drink and a baklava. Yummy stuffs! I've been ordering the lamb souvlaki sandwich here for years. And I still think it's the best Mediterranean-style lamb sandwich in the area. There is always a generous amount of lamb cubes, cooked just right, not overdone. And the combination of succulent lamb chunks, tzatziki, onions, and soft pita bread is pretty magical. It's not only what they say but how they say it plus their tone and body language. They aren't inviting at all. I agree with Bart F. that it was more like an open-face sandwich. I was a little embarassed eating this. It wouldn't all fit in my mouth so there were pieces falling out and juices dripping everywhere. I asked the lady what the difference was between the regular and super gyro, she said that super had more meat and feta cheese. I wanted the feta so I decided to super-size it. But seriously, this really was super. I actually stumbled across this place but I should've yelped first so that I wouldn't have been startled by the overwhelming portions. Pita was nice and thick, the food came out piping hot and I swear my food came right after I sat. My only gripe is that the white sauce they provided was more like ranch than tzatziki. I dunno maybe they intended to make it taste like ranch... Not quite as good as the Cupertino location... The gyros themselves are still good, with a decent amount of meat and real tzatziki sauce. I really like the taste of the gyros, which makes me homesick for Chicago's Greektown. The side salad is ok but I hope I got a bad batch of fries because they were limp, soggy and rather sad. It's not what I would call cheap but I think the amount of food is fair for the price. Still, I prefer the Cupertino location... not really sure why. read more

The only thing I get here is the Gyro. Again GRYO ONLY, hence the 4 stars. I think by far this place has the best Gyro meat. Yes, Opa is great but when it comes to the Gyros Yiassoo has the vote. It means a lot that they still cook it on the spit and carve the meat to your order. Full of flavor and soft not hard or crunchy like other places...hehem Opa. The pita bread is soft and thick enough to hold the substantial amount of meat it comes with. The tzatziki that tops this great sandwich is filled with red onions, parsley, and tomatoes it gives it a great pow in your mouth. I like to ask for the sauce on the side that way I can control that pow! Your breath can seem a bit fire dragonish after, so bring your mints. Plenty of outside and inside seating. The cooks are great, but I do have to say that cashier girl tends to have a bit of a tude. Could be that ESL but still, put a smile on your face lady. The desserts are actually pretty tasty so I will give my A-OK to try.
