Yippee-ei-o Steakhouse was THE worst experiences Ive ever had in a restaurant. NO attempt to even appear to give good service, food was horrible- all salads come with ranch dressing- if you dont like ranch they tell you dont eat it! The steak was not fit for even animals. My steak was so well done it couldnt be cut! When I asked for a new steak I was asked to leave. The OWNER came to me and said she didnt count on repeat business- its a tourist area. (We are locals) Ask people who live here first, most all locals will tell you DONT eat here. The same owners own the Spaghetti Roundup and the new Mexican place next door. Service is terrible, steaks are tasteless, corn on the cob was way over cooked, beans from a can, no sour cream for baked potato, only has Ranch dressing for the small salad that I found out I had to split with my wife (really), biscuits have no flavor. Complained that one of our steaks was way over cooked and could not be eaten...the response "OK" but made to offer to fix it. I know why they include a gratuity in your bill...because they wouldn't get one any other way...we certainly didn't give one. This place is doing tourism for the area a disservice. read more

Well to start with we asked them if they took AMEX and they both said YES. Food came out, it was dry and over cooked. Tasted like it has been frozen for months. Day trip to the grand canyon stop for a bite...worst customer service ever!!!! We had the round up for an app and ordered the rib/chicken combo to share (3.00 extra )...OMG the brought them out at the same time ....the app was over fried the ribs and chicken although moist no flavor at all!!!!...beans were obviously caned again with no flavor..and u are forced to pay 15% gratuity for ok food and poor poor customer service .......well off to enjoy our day in one of the world wonders !!!!! read more

Well Howdy partner! Roy here and my woman Dale. We moseyed in and had us a rib eye and one of them filets. Now I will not be so bold as to say this was one of the finest steers we ever eat but I will be honest with you here. Pickins are kinda slim in this town and I would be willin to bet this was the finest steakhouse in these parts. Was a passel of wranglers in there fresh off the same trail we rode in on so me and Dale hitched our horses up and left our shootin irons at the door. The sweetbread was tasty and them cowboy beans will be soundin all nite. Hope it done disturb the herd. Warmed our seats next to a big ol fire while the served us a sassbarrilla soda them cowpokes that ran that place offered us up somethin stronger but we had to ride. Visited the Grand Canyon with my daughter and three grandkids. We were starving after a day of horses and hiking. My daughter got the T Bone steak medium and kids ate off the Children's menu. The burger on the kids menu was big, thick and juicy. My daughter who BBQ's frequently said it's one of the best steaks she had, so good I, a vegetarian had to have a bite. It was juicy and very flavorful. Steak was cooked over a wood fire and the outside was charred to perfection. Service was also exceptional. Dirty plates were cleared quickly and they all came out and sang to my grand-daughter who turned 7! Great Experience! read more

The corn on the cob was frozen as was the biscuit & cornbread. Our salad was right out of a bag...they didn't even pick out the brown lettuce and Ranch was the only dressing available. We were charged $23 for a sirloin steak that Fry's sales for $5-6...the only taste was from the burnt char on the steak. Was not able to check out reviews before dinner due to limited cell service. We thought this place would be okay since the parking lot was full at 430p. Walking in was a strange experience, full restaurant, decorated Western head to toe. The staff seemed to be in a Stepford wives mood, didn't talk much or smile. Tables were crammed into every inch of the building so you are sitting close to your neighbors. You can tell that they are used to moving big crowds in and out of this place. FOOD- Every meal is served with a family style salad, made up of iceberg lettuce, 4 cherry tomatoes, onions and a drop of Hidden Valley Ranch. We ordered the Rattlesnake appetizer which never showed up. The Cowgirl filet mignon, decent piece of meat but was prepared poorly. We also ordered the 16 oz sirloin and shrimp combo, had to use steak sauce on everything to add flavor. Shrimp tasted like they thawed them out an hour prior in a microwave. Meals were served with a baked potato, corn and a biscuit. Corn was over boiled and soggy, biscuits were super dry, and baked potato was over cooked. Such shame this place has so much potential since they are in a huge tourist trap of a town. You definitely can do better! read more

Like another reviewer, we made the mistake of stopping here to eat without checking any reviews. Stopped in at 11:30am and were the first people in the place. The waitress sat in a back area on her phone and never acknowledged us. I wasn't sure if she worked there since she made no attempt to greet us. We looked over the menu for a few minutes and she finally walked over. Why did we even stay??? But, we did. Food was mediocre and very pricey for what we got. There is a 15% gratuity added on automatically. I rarely tip below 20% so normally that would not bother me at all but it is obvious they know they are getting a tip no matter how lousy the service. Be prepared to get a bad meal and have a 15% tip added to your check. The meal we had was a little pricy but I expected that being that there were only about 4 restaurants in town not including fast food. The meat is a low grade meat for the price they charge and it was Way over cooked. My wife's steak was burnt on one side. The s called BBQ beans were some kind of bean in a kind of low salt chicken broth I think? The salad was the only thing that hade a taste to it. the rest of the food could have had some kind of seasoning which was very lacking. After only eating about half of our food we got the bill. I noticed a 15% some kind of charge on our bill and asked what it was. It is the Tip , the person at the register said. I said we were a party of two and there is no mention of a mandatory tip in your menu. She said that it is there policy to charge a 15% tip and if I wanted to add more. I said you must be shitting me and told her I worked for the sate tax board and what she was doing was illegal. she removed the tip right away. There were allot of foreign tourist there and I am sure they had no idea they were being billed for a tip and still left one on the table. Same for the locals. This place is great! Every time I come to the canyon this place is a must where do I even start the steak is great, which comes with corn, beans and salad. The bbq ribs are a must! Don't bother reading the negative reviews they must of had a bad day. Overall, the deco is great it makes you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere but great place to eat. Yippee I O money for the worst service we have ever experienced! We felt like we were being pushed out. People in our party were midbite and the staff were trying to take their plates. No personality, not friendly, bordering on rude. The food was not horrible, cold corn on the cob, soupy beans and a slop mess for salad. The tomatoes for the burgers looked really mushy and old so we opted to remove them. Steaks were good though. I think the reason the gratuity is added to the bill is because no one would ever tip for such terrible service. Go to McDonalds. One star for decor... Nice saddles. My wife handed back her steak after several attempts to try and cut it with a steak knife, she said, it was the worse steak I ever had, the person serving smiled said thank you and walked off with the plate barely touched and was never seen again. The ribs were dry and overcooked with no extra sauce, the corn mushy, beans from a can and biscuit so dry you needed a mouthful of the bad red wine to swallow it. Baked potato was okay that was the one star given. They automatically add 15% gratuity to the bill, apparently it says it in the small print on the menu, I asked for it to be removed, which they rightly did. If a business never asks why you are unhappy it will never improve or fix any problems, maybe as I suspect they don't really care and they would all rather be somewhere else. In 3 months travelling in the states this is the first time we have never tipped. Should have read the reviews here before we went. read more

If I could they would have 0 stars. Worst place EVER to eat! Staff is not friendly at all. Someone took forever to seat us and the restaurant was empty. Then when we finally did get seated it took another 10+ minutes to get drinks and even after ordering drinks it took forever. The menu was extremely over priced for what they offered. I have never been so unhappy with a restaurant before. We ordered and a family that sat down after us, got their food before ours. My son ordered the kids hot dog and it was cold and the bun was hard as a brick. My fiance and I ordered the wrangler steak and it was def. Not a steak it was a hamburger pattie. My waitress never once came to our table and asked how everything was, if we needed anything, or to refill our drinks. Then I had to ask for the bill and waited another 10 minutes for that. When the bill came I was shocked to read that my family of 3 was charged 50$ for crappy service and even worse food. Come to find that gratuities are included in the bill. The parking lot smelled amazing! Heck even the dining area smelled great, however the service: we had to find a person to seat us. The food was kind of hit-and-miss. Some dishes were good but others weren't. But when we were there in the afternoon the vibe of the place (as others here have said) is uncomfortable. The servers really didn't seem to care at all what happened and were pretty unhappy overall. After our a long day hike we were ready to eat and there's only a few restaurant next to where we are staying. The steakhouse is the only big restaurant around and this is the place to go. Because there's no real eatery in the area this is the place to go for a real dinner. I ordered the steak and ribs that was okay. My wife order the the chicken and that was okay too. Awful place to eat , the food and service was horrible . We went on a family vacation last week , the Grand Canyon was on our list . We loved the canyon got hungry after and went to this steak house that was nearby ... Big mistake . We walked in to the empty restaurant , no hostess , and the waitress that saw our group Of 15 looked at us like we were aliens . Not friendly at all . No hello , no welcome , nothing . She then started moving tables ( looking annoyed ) and waved us over to sit down . We should have walked out then but ...We sat down and started ordering . My sister in law and I wanted a small steak dinner for a low price so we decided to get the same thing , the cheapest steak dinner on the menu . The waiter came and took her order first and he explained that her item (same as mine ) wasn't steak at all but ground beef instead , it just sounds like steak because it says steak on the menu :///, she changes to chicken instead . I over hear everything and ask him if there's a small steak dinner I could get , he offer me the kids menu steak dinner I say that's perfect . My sister in law heard this and asked if she could change hers to the same order as mine , his response " No, you can't change it , it's a kids item , you stick with the chicken you'll love the chicken " NO JOKE! He was Serious!!!!! Really ?! Yeah ... she was pissed . He then preceded to continue taking the rest of our groups orders . Food came and some of it was cold , and all was bland . Cowboy-themed steakhouse sounds good. Even first glance looks good. Waiter brought us delicous salad after ordering food. Lemonade was served in funny "county fair drink" mugs and tasted good. Then came the mains. My wife ordered chicken skewer. Dry. I ordered full slab ribs. Pros: that was plentitul. I actually had problems eating because plate was so full. Cons: dry and tasteless. I asked for some more BBQ sauce and got a bottle of A1 steak sauce. Usually when I have ordered ribs waiter has brought me plenty of napkins, maybe extra plate for bones etc, but here nothing. Then the service. Place was crowded and everyone was running from one place to another in hurry. Our waiter understood us and spoke mediocore English, but woman cleaning the plates from the table did not - all she spoke was "may I?" and "thank you". When we asked for toothpicks, she ran off quickly and we had to ask another waiter to get toothpicks. 15% service charge was a bad surprise and unfortunately too much. read more

On top of all this, I thought lets have strawberries and they even messed that up... Plain bitter with awful whip cream. Zero stars... This place was horrible. My family and I dined here after visiting the Grand Canyon. We all got salad with our meals. The only dressing available was ranch and we got more ranch than lettuce. It was worse than a hospital cafeteria salad. Everyone in our party ordered hamburgers. The waiter did not ask us how we wanted our burgers cooked yet one was well done, one was burned, one was rare. The waiter seemed irritated that we reminded him to bring us more water 3 times. We also received mayonnaise packets with our burgers. For the price we paid, I'd expect a better presentation. I will never come back here even if I was offered free food. read more
