In looking for a gym I know that folks all look for different things in addition to finding a membership price that works for them. Every single gym in Reston is expensive because Reston is expensive, but the YMCA is where I am a member because the monthly membership is reasonable ( and a portion of the membership goes to funding valuable community related programs), the gym is large and has lots of options for both cardio and strength training and also offers a nice variety of classes which are captured in your membership cost. They also have a basketball court and amazing Olympic sized swimming pool if that's your jam too! This is literally the nicest YMCA I've ever stepped foot in. Oh and it's never really overly crowded ... I typically workout early morning but I've also worked out midday and evening and it was never once crowded. Oh and the front desk staff is super ( especially Kenny ).

I would never Reston my laurels when it comes to having a muscular physique, so when I was stuck at my Uncle's house for weeks, YMCA Reston was a regular destination. As opposed to a Desi-nation, which would be India. I do love the YMCA Reston, as you can tell by the rating. But there are also downsides. The good thing about this Y is that they're really friendly at the front desk - mostly - and they let me in and out without making phone calls to my home location, without much hold up, without a fuss - and the facility is mostly really new, and everything works in good condition. The bad thing is just how extraordinarily busy it is. All the time. Especially in the evenings and on weekends. It can get really hard to use any given piece of equipment. And do not get me started on parking, which can be a total and utter nightmare, as can be the traffic in these parts. Having said that, it's close to the County Parkway so that's a good thing. And the Dulles Toll Road, which while being a rip off, is at least a highway. But it's hard not to give it a 4 considering how very busy it usually is. Nevertheless it's still the best YMCA I've used in the greater DC area by far. And they do have the kinds of bikes I like. Now I can't Reston my pillow just yet, I have more reviews to write. And as for that fax you sent me earlier, I think it was fair enough. You could say it was a Fairfax.

The Reston YMCA has a friendly and responsive team. This Y is going through a great renovation and regardless is one of the busiest YMCAs you will go to. The staff are always grace under fire and charismatic as well as genuinely caring. You would be hard pressed to find a better space for your family in Reston.

Gigantic Gym enough space for everyone. Top Notch equipment . Trainers are kind and very helpful. They have camps during the day for all ages, a basketball court, and swimming lanes to practice in. This is my all time favorite gym.

I've been a member at VIDA Fitness for about a year now, and my mom is actually a founding member,…read moreso I've seen the gym from both a long-term and more recent perspective. When I first joined, the experience felt aligned with the "luxury" brand they promote. The classes are still a highlight because they're engaging, well-run, and one of the main reasons I've stayed. I also genuinely like the bar area, and most of the food I've had has been solid. That said, the biggest issue for me, and it's a major one... is cleanliness. It's honestly disturbing to see the same stains on the gym floors day after day. I understand the flooring is a neutral color, but that's not an excuse for it to look visibly dirty all the time. The areas near the windows and equipment are especially bad. At $200/month, I expect a consistently clean facility, and that standard is not being met. The bathrooms are no better. The floors often look stained and unclean, and there are almost never toilet seat covers available in the women's restroom. It feels like basic upkeep is being missed regularly. The cold plunge has also been an issue!! I've gone to use it before and noticed a visible film, which made it completely unusable. That shouldn't happen in a facility marketed as high-end. On top of that, the staff isn't particularly welcoming or attentive, which adds to the overall disconnect between the brand and the actual experience. To be fair, not all of this falls solely on the gym.. many members don't wipe down equipment after using it. But that's exactly why there needs to be stronger oversight and more consistent cleaning protocols in place. During the summer, the rooftop pool gets extremely crowded. The pool itself is nice, but it's clear they need more staffing during peak months. Service becomes very slow, which takes away from what could otherwise be a great amenity. As someone who works in facilities and understands operations, this feels like a management issue. There needs to be more attention to daily maintenance, cleaning standards, and overall quality control. Right now, it simply does not reflect the luxury experience being advertised. I'm willing to give it a little more time to improve, but based on my experience so far, I would rate it a 2.5 out of 5

The Reston VIDA is such a vibe. Overall, it's super clean and usually pretty dead (which is nice)…read more I've taken two heated yoga classes with Stefania and really enjoyed them. She gives a variety of posture options so that you can practice at your level. The music is very regular but given the location and demographic, I get it . Lol Every staff member I've interacted with has been pretty nice. They offer courtesy locks at the front desk if you forget yours. They also offer validation, but if you move too quickly past the front desk, you probably won't notice the little scanner that allows you to just scan your thing. Unfortunately, I paid for parking my first time here because I didn't know and nobody told me, but it's all good. I will say, this location is very different from all other Vida locations I have been to. This one definitely gives a more luxurious feel and can honestly be treated quite a bit like a spa. My main complaints are as follows: the actual restroom section of the locker rooms need work. There is absolutely no reason that every time I have been there, I struggle to find a stall with toilet seat covers. Usually, there is only one stall that is stocked with toilet seat covers. And several of the other stalls are usually full of unflushed feces and urine. Also, I do not know what the small towel situation is here. The first time I came, they had literally no towels. I even asked the front desk and they informed me that they did not have any at that time. Very weird because locations like the one on U St. always have a ton. The next time I came, their towel offerings looked very sad. They had like two or three in each little shelf section of the towel shelf. Again, not what I'm used to from Vida. Important notes: -the steam room and sauna are both co-ed. You've been warned. I was a little shocked the first time I went in there and saw that it was full of men. Some of them were literally just wrapped in a towel from the waist down. No thank you. -they have an ice bath, which is amazing. I enjoy my time in there. You are supposed to make reservations through the app. However, I have been walked in on multiple times despite having the door closed while being there. I also see people just walk in randomly to use it and when I check the app, there are still reservations for that timeslot, so it seems like people just use it whenever they want. I do not like that. Overall, it's a really nice location. You can tell it's newer and they are still working out some kinks. But please get some toilet seat covers.

I truly hope the members are not paying the same price as we do in Clinton. It feels like it was an old gym that OneLife came and bought. I went midday and it was not crowded. They have all of the machines you would need but about half of the machines look like they were from the 90s. I would come again but I think with many other gyms close by, I would think they need a bigger space and more updated equipment.

I pay way too much monthly to come into a one life gym that still has this style of equipment. Maybe because my home gym is for totten but this is ridiculous. This equipment is all older than this gym itself. The gym smells like a sewage drain. I legitimately had to work out with a shirt over my nose and ended my workout early because I couldn't stand it anymore. The layout of the gym is always chaotic as hell. Yes there's a lot of machines, they are all old maybe 10% of what's in here is "new". Studio has no fans, neither does group studio. That makes no sense to me. First time at this location, I unfortunately moved to this area, but I won't be coming back, I'd rather make the 25 minute drive to the Manassas location where is actually clean, and new equipment Editing to add that there is in fact not a single fan in this gym, even the treadmills, don't have a built in fan. Might be the reason this location SMELLS as bad as it does. I'm

It's like pulling teeth to get my son to want to go here especially now that they decided to remove the kids play equipment in the back was removed. I reached out to management and was told it was removed to prevent injuries. It is quite frustrating because almost every other gym, including other Lifetimes in the area, have this equipment still. Kids just want to come and run around they don't want to sit at a table to do Legos after they have been at school all day. It's very disappointing and makes me want to find another gym. Another thing that really needs to be improved is the cafe. I frequently purchase things from here and they have gone bad or are made incorrectly. I will tell the staff and they just look at me and tell me to pick something else. For the amount of money people spend to come here I would expect some better options. If things are not moving, then don't prep so far in advance.
